After repeated requests there was no attempt made to resolve the internet issue. My room's access was provided to other guests (who came into my room) and when reported it was brushed off as a minor issue. Not very customer friendly overall. Not the experience one would have.

• GauravBhagat03 (4/5): Terrible Experience – Not Recommended - Our stay at Mysore Country Retreat, Mysore was extremely disappointing and one of the worst hotel experiences we have had [25-26 Jan 2026]. During the dinner buffet on 25th January, we were shocked to find a cockroach in the pulao that was served to us. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the hygiene and food safety standards of the hotel. Even worse, when we brought it to the staff’s attention, there was no proper apology or ownership. Instead, they tried to justify it by saying the insect “must have flown into the food,” which shows a complete lack of accountability. The overall cleanliness was equally poor. There was a foul smell near the lifts on multiple floors, and we even noticed cockroaches roaming around the kitchen/dining area floor, which was truly pathetic. Housekeeping service was horrible. We requested just two extra pillows, and despite calling five times, it took nearly three hours for them to deliver them. To add to the inconvenience, the pool in our room was not working, and multiple staff members had to enter our room repeatedly for short intervals while our family was inside, which was highly uncomfortable and poorly managed. The dining area management was chaotic. There was no coordination in table allotment — guests were left to figure out seating on their own. We even saw a small family being made to sit at a table meant for six, reflecting the lack of basic hospitality. While the room itself was decent, the overall experience was terrible, unhygienic, and poorly managed. I would strongly advise travelers to avoid this property.

• Nisha (5/5): Overall not worth the money. - we were not offered breakfast even though the room cost was 7k and I even checked with hotel RECEPTION, if they can add complementary. THE ANSWER WAS NO. Anyway. Paying 6-7k for the room and still the breakfast was not included. We didn't like the attitude of the reception staff's specially those two girls from north east staff in the reception. They just have no answer to every thing. They don't even try to accomodate request from the guest when asked to check if they can add bfst as complementary which they said No 1st and then when we requested to check with the manager. and call back. We waited for almost 20mins. No call from the desk and we had to call back and reply was No. Anyway. Bathroom water was leaking from the shower place to dry area. which they fixed on request. Temp of AC was set from 20c and room was quite warm again on request they fixed the AC. When things are not in place and for every thg we have to call and get it fixed and top of that if we have to pay 7k with no breakfast, with might as well stay in good 3 star hotel, which has better experience and warm staff who are 2 steps ahead to see if the customer are happy and satisfied. This being our regular hotel from many years, hence decided not to come here after.

• Mehul (4/5): Rundown - not a family hotel - I liked the place prior to ownership change. After the name changed from country inn to county retreat, the place has been run down significantly. Poor upkeep, everything was mediocre and barely functional. Starting from main Door handle, WiFi, bathroom toiletries, linen, fixtures etc. was broken, or subpar or simply not working.
• Dilsad_hu (10/5): Comfortable stay in Mysore. - The food was good and the rooms r clean and well maintained , staff are really helpful and polite. The lobby area was neat and clean.Overall good experience.

• rushik2018 (10/5): About our stay from 4th May to 6th May - It was a great experience overall and the morning breakfast as well as the buffet dinner was awsome! The valet service was also great as they also offered a car wash at cheaper price. The staff was very helpfull and supportive. The front office executive Anshika Gurung catered to our needs so efficiently and also Veerappa and Rafik ahmed at the Mosaic provided excellent service at the restaurant. The only problem was the front office lady named Nila, who was very arrogant to the guests. When I called in for making a booking, she ensured that the twin room is available and later on arrogantly denied. She didn't even check the availability and when we checked in there were multiple rooms empty.
• Escape38839931526 (4/5): Poor Service, Spoiled Food, and Unclean Facilities – Very Disappointing Stay - We recently stayed at Mysore County Retreat with family and had a thoroughly disappointing experience. - The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all during our stay. Despite multiple requests to the staff, there was no resolution or even an update. - The restaurant, Mosaic, served spoiled food in their buffet. We brought this to the chef’s attention, but shockingly, there was no apology or corrective action taken. - The swimming pool was dirty and clearly not maintained for weeks, making it unusable and unsafe, especially for children. The lack of basic hospitality and hygiene ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway. I would not recommend this property to anyone until they take serious steps to improve service standards and cleanliness.
• audant (4/5): A Two-Day Trip Turned Into a Nightmare by Mysore County Retreat - What was meant to be a short, personal two-day trip to Mysore turned into a distressing experience, entirely due to the poor service and shockingly unprofessional behavior I encountered at Mysore County Retreat. After a long nine-hour drive, I arrived expecting a quick check-in and a chance to freshen up before attending a condolence meet and dinner. Unfortunately, the check-in process was a bit slow. The front desk staff appeared inexperienced and untrained—I had to repeat basic information multiple times just to complete the process. While the room provided was clean and well-kept, the issues began shortly thereafter. I needed reliable Wi-Fi for a late-night conference call, but the connection was nearly non-existent. Despite three separate calls to the reception and eventually a personal visit, assistance only arrived after persistent follow-ups. A staff member named Aishik was commendable in his effort—he spent nearly two hours helping me, even shifting me across multiple rooms to locate one with acceptable connectivity. Just as I settled into the new room, I discovered the air conditioning was non-functional, making the room unbearably hot. Yet again, my calls to reception went unanswered until I physically went down to request help. At this point, three hours had passed, and I had already moved across three rooms. The most alarming part of my experience occurred when I approached reception again. When asked for my room number, I honestly couldn’t recall it—understandably so, given the constant room changes and the physical strain of moving around with the aid of a walking stick. I requested the receptionist, Mohammed Hassan, to confirm the room number with his colleagues. Instead of assisting, he reacted aggressively, shouting that I must remember the room number. He leapt from behind the counter and advanced toward me in a physically intimidating manner—an utterly unacceptable act toward any guest, let alone a senior citizen. When I stated I was taking a photo to report the incident, he approached even closer, posing arrogantly and shouting that I could do nothing about his behavior. It was only due to the intervention of other staff that the situation did not escalate further. Later, Mr. Anil Kumar, Director of Operations, arrived with Mr. Hassan and a few other staff to my room. While Mr. Kumar’s approach was courteous and professional, and Mr. Hassan offered an apology, it was delivered with visible disrespect and a smirk. I expressed my discomfort at the idea of continuing my stay in the presence of someone so volatile. Mr. Kumar assured that he will take care of the situation. I had hoped Mr. Hassan would be removed from guest-facing duties for the remainder of my stay, but unfortunately, he remained at the front desk during my checkout, still displaying the same arrogant demeanor. The property itself is beautiful and has a few capable and courteous staff members. However, no amount of aesthetic appeal can compensate for such a deeply unsettling and aggressive experience. It is inconceivable that someone with such behavior is allowed to interact with guests. I will not be returning to Mysore County Retreat and strongly caution others—particularly elderly guests or solo travelers—to remain alert when considering a stay here. The hotel risks seriously damaging its reputation by continuing to employ individuals who treat hospitality as a power trip rather than a service.

• Traveler58461389637 (2/5): Terrible experience — not worth the money - Terrible experience — not worth the money We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and the experience was extremely disappointing. To begin with, the AC in our room wasn’t working for both days, making it very uncomfortable. We complained multiple times but no proper action was taken. The swimming pool was another disaster — it had a foul smell throughout our stay, clearly neglected and unhygienic. The food served at the hotel was equally bad. The taste was below average and nowhere near what you’d expect from a decent property. We ended up avoiding most of the meals because of this. To make things worse, during checkout, the staff didn’t give us any bills. They simply quoted a total amount to be paid. Even after asking for a detailed bill multiple times, they made us wait for over 30 minutes and still failed to provide it. Highly unprofessional and careless service. Overall, a terrible experience — poorly maintained property, bad food, and unprofessional staff. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Bad customer service - The look and feel of the property was nice No proper internet, it was dead slow and when I raised it with the reception, we have informed our IT lead was the answer. Turns out some event was happening and everyone were busy with that. The TV also not working, atleast some guy came and tried couple of replacement boxes but still didn’t work. I tried change the room, but the guy in reception was like “you’re staying for a night right? No other room available”. I felt like they didn’t even care for people who stay just for a night. I was doing break of journey as I was driving long day and have to drive long way next day. But this way if treat was very bad. I checked out within 3 hrs and I booked better one.

You have to pick your bag on your own and take it to the room. 4. The check in was smooth 5. Room cleanliness - 0 6. No toiletries 7. Pathetic buffet 8. No AC cooling
• Explore07555280762 (2/5): Will not recommend staying here.. - Hotel has degraded the standards drastically. Service is so slow, difficult to explain - was suggested to wait till next day morning for hand wash, missing toiletries in wash room. Complimentary breakfast was horrible, hard idly, burned dosa, cold tea - eventually we had to finally got outside to have proper breakfast. Will not stay here again, would neither recommend others as well. This otherwise, used to be one of my favourite place to stay in Mysore till previous stay 2 years back

• Prasad (3/5): It's not at all recommended for anyone - Breakfast is OK but not satisfied. Started without a welcome drink and waited for cleaned rooms to check in. No cleaned towels and bedsheets are very old. Moreover rooms are very very small compared to ordinary hotels. There is a swimming pool but no maintenance,no cleaned wash rooms,no cleaned towels even though there is no one to ask anything. Coming to food: Breakfast is OK but not satisfied,all the items in Lunch are without salt & Chilli.curd smells like shit.Pulao rice is only with whole bean and bean lentils. But the prices are at the 7 Star hotel range. On Sunday,lot of times power fluctuations and power failure,really this one I have never seen in whole hotel life.

• Ganapathi (3/5): Bad experience - Nothing No proper cleaning. Opened the room fridge and found food from previous guests inside. Same had fungus and smelling. Power went off and the back up did not come on for a long time.
