Guest Reviews
- Micke (2/5): Avoid this hotel! - The service at this hotel was terrible!
- No help with bags to the room or even from taxi to check in desk.
- I had to ask for receipt on deposit
- There was no safe in the room
- There was no micro in the room
- There was not enough pillows in the room and I had to call 3 times to get them deliver 2 more.
- They forgot that we had ordered breakfast. (No buffé)
- No questions about what we wanted for breakfast. They served cold coffee, juice with ice, croissant with scrambled egg inside (I cannot eat egg!) I went down to the Café that was integrated in the hotel to see if I could buy another breakfast. They only had one more croissant with the same egg inside!
We had booked 4 nights. After 1 night we left the hotel and booked another. I was so pleased to come to a service oriented hotel after this terrible experience!
If you can, avoid this hotel!
- john (8/5): - a reasonably inexpensive apartment hotel with an excellent pool and gym. it is quite remote with a good walk to any restaurants or bars.
- Anuchai (6/5): Ok - Just ok! The place need the big renovation! But overall it’s reasonable stayed!
- Richard (8/5): - We had a great time. Their service was great, friendly staff, nice, all facilities were awesome. Just that it was a distanced from shops and it was not able to provide free shuttle out from the hotel into city given its distance.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ok apartment, if a little 'hidden away'. Area is quite good, but not as close to airport rail as I'd originally thought. My room smelt of smoke, which was a shame.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This property was rather clean, and spacious. The swimming pool and gym were decent. For a self catering apartment, there wern't enough cooking pots or utensils of any sort. There was a toaster, microwave, kettle, hob with oven, and a large fridge-freezer. Although communicating with staff for certain requests, i.e, asking for clean linen was difficult because of language barriers, we eventually got what we needed thanks to their kindness and consideration. The furniture in the living room was run-down; not up to standards. We enjoyed our stay, the location was convienient and we really appreciated the staffs effort.
- Michelle (8/5): Good stuff clean place poorly equipped kitchen - This place is generally not bad with friendly stuff and a rooftop pool. But there are two buts... seem like this place is very difficult for taxi drivers to find, everytime in or out trust me you would need a taxi but finding the place was a hustle almost every time; the other problem is this is an appartment style place with a kitchen, ppl like me looks for these and willing to pay extra for these for the cooking function but it was Very poorly equipped with No cooking pans At All I ended up had to bake all my stuff.
- yaqoub (8/5): thonglor - short
- Mark (2/5): - Broken room,Broken air condition, no hot shower, dirty room, dirty sheet and dirt towels put on your room.?
- Rini (4/5): - My review on this apartment .
I didn't like the service of the tuk tuk guy . He is super rude , unfriendly , not very helpful , not interacting well with us .
This first day we got into our apartment lights was out . It wasn't proper . They weren't there to tell you which switch is the use of what switch . They did fix the lighting asap but it wasn't very welcoming . The stove wasn't hot enough to cook food you have to wait for 5mins onwards which is bad .
The service guy say just put it longer cook it longer it helps . Its was just bad experience for me to stay there for more then a week .
Pros
• tuk tuk service 7am-7pm
• sercurity
• no entrance fee
• cleaning service
Cons
• Minimal utensils
( 2fork , 2spoon , 2pots , 2chopsticks , 2hot cup , 1 glass , 2 big plates , 2 small plates , 1 fruit knife )
• No frying pan
• No scissors
• No proper lighting ( lights was not fix when we have our room )
• Tuk Tuk rider one 1 staff and very rude
• No table desk after 8pm
• Convience store
• 7 eleven
** its a long walk to go 7eleven & convience store like family mart . 15-20mins walk . The tuktuk services only will bring you to the nearest bts . They won't sent you to a certain area you would like to . The tuk tuk guy is super rude .
Overall i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone at all . There's alot of good apartment in bangkok that you can go to . With good services . Good free tuk tuk rides , friendly staff , very helpful desk staff . That was even able t
- Mark (2/5): Dirt nap! Bedbugs! - A picture tells 1000 words- there’s aren’t real.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location is to far from city. Hotel room is not clean and bathroom floor was leaking and wet. There was a tiny bug walking around on kitchen counter. Receiptiones is not polite with customer. I will not go back there again.
- Daksha (10/5): All the staff was friendly. - I would love to go back to the same hotel. It was a brilliant experience staff was friendly, only down thing was limited on toilet rolls, water and no tea bags.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great value for family trip - This is our second time staying in this apartment. We love this apartment with best location, very close to BTS and also ferry. Very quiet environment, with full access to everything. Our little girl loves the pool and the view on the terrace of the building.
We would be back again for our next visit and we definitely recommend this to our friends.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great for families. Safe neighborhood. - Very convenient to samitivej hospital. Beds are very stiff if you are a westerner not used to asian beds. Staff is so friendly. Would stay there again.
- Danny (10/5): Nice Apartment in ThongLor neighborhood - Nice place. Only complaint is that th mattress is very, very hard.
- jinlan (8/5): Room is big and the bed as well. - everything are good. facilities are well maintained. and room is big and clean.
- Danny (10/5): Apartment in ThongLor with pool and gym - We extended our stay here, as it's a very nice place with good amenities. If you want to be in ThongLor, this is a great place. A bit far from the main road, but they offer a shuttle service to the main road whenever you need it.
The staff are very nice and help you when you ask. The staff at reception were always very nice and spoke great English.
Pool and gym on the roof were very nice and we were often the only ones up there.
As others have said, the bed was VERY hard, but we didn't mind. It's also on a very loud street, so try to get a room on the 4th floor or higher so that you don't hear the motorbikes flying past.
- Susan (4/5): Hard as a Rok - The bed is hard as a rock, been traveling in Asia five years worse bed!!! Cleaning was sporadic at best Internet spotty I liked location but hard to get taxi Far from BTI
- kelvin (6/5): Decent Hotel Apartment - Good size room but worn-off condition on furniture. Also bed mattress are too hard and should be replaced ...
- Yaqoub (8/5): cheap acheerfull - it was short stay for one week
the reception was poor and the overall condition of the hotel is slightly accepted
hard to get a a taxi
swimming pool is dirty
- Yifat (6/5): Inconveniently located, but nice and spacious - The facilities are good and rooms spacious and clean. However, staff had very little English. Didn't do much to come handy. We've booked family room and were assigned two rooms instead, which was irrelevant to us, traveling with our two minor kids. when we asked to get our original reservation, the staff refused and told us the whole place was booked, which was clearly a lie. only upon our insistence, miraculously, the approriate room was found for us. The place is nicely designed, but the location is problematic. There's a Tuk-Tuk that can take you to the train station, but we stayed for four days, and one day it got broken and another day was Sunday, so we got to enjoy it for only one day out of three we needed it. Also, on your way back, you can't take it from the train to the hotel.
- Chasada (6/5): One time its enough for us - The room was ok , the mattress was so hard!!! its not firm , its HARD!!
night staff wasn't very helpful. The service wasn't satisfy
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location-- minimal service - Service was sub-standard for a city that can excel in service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Greatful sleep comfortable and great area but far from train station and this area food expensive
- Verified traveler (6/5): Family stay - Hotel can hear sound from out side
And very difficult go out
Is not clean but room big good for family
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very difficult go out - The hotel in side Soi
Have restaurant in side is Japan food
But expensive night time is very difficult come out
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap but not Comfortable - We stayed for one night only in a 2 bedroom apartment. The rooms themselves are clean enough but there are some let downs. The beds are rock hard, one of the other visitors mentioned that it was like sleeping on wood and they weren't wrong.
There are no hand towels in the bathrooms (only bath towels), there isn't a dish cloth or detergent in the kitchen and the hotel itself is some ways from Thonglor. The hotel does provide a free tuk-tuk service to get you there if that's where you want to go, or to the sky train.
The tennis court (also basketball) appears to be a parking area and there is a building being constructed next door.
Each bedroom is en-suite. One has a shower and the other a bath (no bath plug).
Price-wise the hotel is cheap for a two bedroom apartment as you'd normally pay this for a single hotel room in Bangkok but if you like a comfortable bed then this is not the place.
- Pankaj (10/5): At home away from home. - We loved and enjoyed the entire duration of our stay. The pool and gym can however be upgraded. Nevertheless, lovely place.
- Leon@KSA (10/5): Bonjour et Merci. - We feel very happy.and quietness
- Mike (4/5): Inconvenient location and terrible bed/mattress - Unfortunately this serviced apartment/hotel was very uncomfortable. The mattress on the bed was not soft and the pillows were really large, solid and uncomfortable (they would have suited Fred Flintstone!) - neither me nor my partner slept well.
The bath plug did not work and therefore the bath would continuously lose water.
The kitchen was not adequately provided with cutlery.
There is construction on-going from the adjacent plot (throughout 2015) and the drilling starts at 8am.
The staff speak very little English - even basic requests like an additional duvet (to try and soften the bed) could not be conveyed.
- Kathryn (10/5): Amazing hotel - I love the Montara hotel,it's our favourite place to stay . The only thing is we. Booked the two bed room and was changed to a one bed room. They gave us back our money for the difference and put a bed in the room.
- kathryn (10/5): This place is just Devine !!! - I love the Montara , the staff are friendly and very helpful . The rooms are fantastic for a family. Close to Klong and to all of Bangkok wonderful experiences
- tommi (8/5): nice rooms in nice area - Has nice rooms, clean, comfortable and good. Location is not as close to public transport and taxis as it should be. But the free tuk tum service helps to solve the problem.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place for group of travelers - This place was hard to find for taxi drivers. Once we got the area down a little we were able to guide the drivers to the location. The apartment was nice and clean and had some great features like a nice swimming pool, work out room, and washer. The beds were hard and for some in the group this was a problem but others loved it. Also the use of a free tuk tuk to places close by was helpful but the driver did not seem to be too excited to take you anywhere. The rest of the staff were very helpful and kind even if some did initially come across as unfriendly.
The location is a tad far to walk to the rail system so we had to get a ride to the station and then get a cab home. We found that Bangkok is so big that it is hard to walk to all places we wanted to visit so even though it was further out from most tourist places we would have had to get a ride to some of the places not matter where we were located. Also there did not seem to be a lot of things to do in this area other than some restaurants and everyday stores but we were there during Songkran so many places may have been closed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Best choice for family stay - Nice apartment and great stay. Little bit inconvenient location
- Kathryn (10/5): Amazing all the way - This place is convenient , the staff is helpful, warm and amazing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Was ok.. - Took us half and hour to find this place.. Google maps failed us once again. It is pretty far from the main road, but they do provide a free shuttle to the main road.. But ends at 8pm. The room was clean.. Very spacious. WARNING beds a terribly hard, did not have a good sleep the whole time I was there.
If the beds were comfy and the shuttle was available till later in the night, thumbs up.
- Kathryn (10/5): Amazing - This is a great place to stay beautiful staff great location . Tuk tuk service and a washing machine so no hand washing!!! Much better than a hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): It's OK for the price - Will not stay here again. But for the budget conscious, it is still OK.The rest is for you to find out.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money - Good and quiet neighbor. It a bit far to BTS but they do provide Tutuk transport.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Can't expect much for the price - Good: Decent location if you like to hang around Thong Lor Area. Bad: Construction next door will wake you up at 9am even on weekends. Almost non-existent service. Rock hard mattress, flimsy pillows. You probably won't find this place unless you're familiar with the surrounding area.
- YRB (8/5): Trendier Location - A good hotel located in the trendier part of Bangkok within a 5 minute walk of the main road (Sukhumvit) withs its trendier bars and eateries. The hotel is clean, it has a nice swimming pool and the rooms were large with good facilities. A cheap cab ride takes you into the heart of Bangkok so an ideal location if you want to saty somewhere quieter.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - First and foremost the address in expedia for the accommodation is wrong. The correct address is
52/1 Soi Thonglor
25 Sukhumvit 55 Rd,
Klongton-Nua
Wattana
BKK 10110
We had to search for atleast 1 hr before finding out the correct address by contacting the hotel.
- Amit (6/5): good hotel - Thonglor is away from hustle bustle of the city. Location is far from shukumvit. ..hotel need to hv additional transport facility to accommodate guest easy pick & drop to the BTS stations.
- Sam (8/5): Large apartment room but located inside Soi.... - The apartment is located inside the Japanese village, and wherever u go, u will need a taxi or Tuk Tuk, unless u don't mind walking about 15min to sukhumvit 55. The good point is the hotel provide u free Tuk Tuk from 7am to 7pm, only to sukhumvit area. The receptionist hardly know anything abt bangkok. Air conditioning is very good, it helps as bangkok really hot. Tell taxi that u wanna go Thonglor 25 to reach this hotel, the taxi driver know better this road.
- Meenakshi (8/5): Stay in service appartment - The room was very spacious, neat and clean. All facility were provided in the room.the bed was very good and comfortable. They were good in conversation ,English especially. Overall a very nice place to stay. There in house tuk tuk service was great.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fluent English receptionist - What I would expected from a 4 star hotel. The difference is the receptionist are fluent in English. It's rare in Thailand.
- Verified traveler (10/5): montara - A modern well maintained two room apartment. Great views from the seventh floor. Only criticism would be the beds are a bit too firm, bordering on hard. The free tuk tuk shuttle was well appreciated the next morning to navigate our first day in Bangkok.
