Guest Reviews
- Felipe (9/5): Good condo to go skiing! - Location in the Village and being able to ski in/out. Room is small but cozy. Bathroom toilet kept leaking but thankfully was resolved by maintenance. Lamps were missing lamp shades. Decor could use some update as it feels dark and outdated.
- Chelsey (7/5): - Location The water in the shower was cold and never got warm.
- Ashley (6/5): - Bring towels. If you need extra, you have to pay for that. The room is very small. Says it sleeps 4. That is true, but 4 people can't really function in that small of a space. The vent in the bathroom didn't work. AC didn't really cool the room.
- Mathew (6/5): - Hotel was undet construction at time of stay.
The cost was high for the room.
Noone was there to police all the drunken stupid people running up amd down the hallways and playing loud music in the hotel.
- Flanagan (6/5): - Place seem deserted. Did not see one other person staying there. hard to find places to eat. Enjoyed playing at The Raven Golf Course. Lack of dining options. No information on how to check out. Far Away parking lot even though nearby Lots were vacant.
- Tavien (10/5): -
- Stephanie (8/5): -
- Aubrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gitte (7/5): Great stay - The central location The very complicated check-in procedure.. you need to give the guest some information about were to do the check-in please..
- Richard (4/5): Disappointing -
- Andrew (2/5): I would never stay here again, but I don’t hold that against the resort location just this individual building. - The location was great. It was right on the top of the slope when getting off the lift you could ski almost to the front door. We had two side-by-side rooms and the pullout couches in both were disgusting, one even had blood on it. The dishes in the cabinets were all dirty and had food particles on them. The screws in the doors were starting to come loose so the door wasn’t sitting properly. The door stopper kept keeping the door from shutting because it would automatically deploy constantly. There was no vent fan in the bathroom and the room was not insulated well you could literally feel the wind blowing through the windows.
- Arletis (10/5): It was wonderful - Everything was good, perfect location, comfortable room, clean
- Janet (8/5): - Pros:The location for skiing was perfect; you could walk right out of the locker room to the ski area. The restaurants and staff were super friendly.
Cons:The parking was a hike, and dropping off your luggage was challenging. We had a difficult time trying to find check-in for the Expedition Station.
Overall, it was a clean, safe, and amazing location!
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Devan (7/5): Good - Great location and rooms were spacious and clean Shower was freezing cold in both rooms and no water pressure
- Mathew (9/5): Superb - The hotel was nice, clean, and beautiful views Water pressure in shower very weak and ran out of hot water quickly
- Cindy (8/5): Very good -
- grayson (8/5): Pretty good time - Besides the tv not working and having to go down to the lockers to get and store the equipment it was fun and a great time will definitely be back
- Jacoline (6/5): Great location in a tiny over priced unit. - Great location Very very small unit, cheap IKEA furniture, no counter space, TV did not work and way too expensive for what we got.
- Jon (8/5): Very good -
- Aaron (9/5): Superb -
- Pam (6/5): - The property overall was fine, but we did not have adequate hot water in the shower for two nights. Maintenance did try to fix the issue, but it was more involved than they initially thought and therefore was not able to be repaired with us in the room. I did contact management and they were very willing to compensate us for the inconvenience.
- Worldtravelingfamily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (8/5): beautiful scenery and fresh air. - The view and easy access to parking and shops. room needed vacuum and needed more than one pack of coffee.
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Tamir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Judy (6/5): Pleasant - Didn’t have breakfast. Would like to enjoy my coffee. But housekeeping didn’t want to give me enough cream and sugar
- Duane (8/5): Hard to really judge this resort because of the lack of snow and terrible weather conditions. - Food was just ok and Al Dente was unexpectedly closed when the Snowshoe app said it was open. Of all the meals I ate there, the breakfast was the best with good food and no crowds.
- Geoffray (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and great confort
- Evgeny (8/5): Very good -
- Evgeny (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aaron (7/5): Great if you don't plan to ever be in your room. - Excellent location and the view was incredible (slope side). Walking out the door and being right in the village is the only thing that made this worth it. If you're going to ski or be out all day and just come back to crash it's perfect. Where to start. The leather on the ottoman was almost completely peeled off, the mattress almost sat on the floor, the shower curtain in the bathroom was stained that moldy orange, the overhead light in the living room would flicker and turn off, and the glass shelf in the bathroom was mounted so crooked that our toiletries would slide off onto the floor.
Was it decrepit? No. Was the kitchenette clean? Yes. Did everything work? Yep. But at almost $300 a night I expected better.
- Joe (8/5): Very good -
- Mariya (9/5): our stay was absolutely wonderful! - it had plenty of room for three people, and a kitchenette, and it was nice how close to the slopes it was. The bed and pillowed weren’t that comfortable.
- Fernando (9/5): Superb -
- Molly (3/5): accommodations weren’t great. location was awesome! - The location was great! The room was so small, not well kept. we had very few lights (burned out and we were told nothing can be done) hardly any bed coverings and a huge stain of dirt and water (still wet) when we arrived. The Murphy bed was awful. We will not return to that particular location. We will return to snow shoe and stay at a nicer place.
- Scott (9/5): Superb - Location is amazing….lockers on first level are great for keeping boards and skis out of the room and just feet to the slopes. Lack of lodge/large gathering area to hang out in. There is a small (one table) common area with a TV just above the entrance.
- Pitts (9/5): Superb -
- Cris (9/5): Superb -
- Tyler (9/5): Superb -
- Greta (7/5): Good -
- Julie (3/5): Poor - We arrived to check in after hours. We had confirmed by email that late check in was available. After a 7 hour drive, we arrived on a Friday night and no one was there to check us in. It was tough to find the hotel but when we finally did, we could not get into our room. No one answered the customer service phone line and no signs were posted with instructions. We had followed all of the emailed instructions but were stuck since no one was available to help with check in. We were thinking we had to sleep in our vehicle and started charging it. Eventually, I reached the Booking.com agent to ask for help but the phone call disconnected twice due to the remote location. Later that night, the Booking.com agent emailed me about another location to go to for check in. This was probably the worst check in experience of my life. Around 2am in the freezing cold we finally were able to access our room and bring our luggage/gear inside. Never again. I do not recommend staying here. Basic room, overpriced, poor service, bad skiing.
- Zachary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ho Yun (10/5): Great to stay for ski lessons - Very convenient for skiing because it is right in front of ski area.
- Bethany Y. (4/5): No one will respond if you have questions and they will overcharge for taxes and fees. - When you get there snowshoe will force you to pay taxes and fees AGAIN to get your keys even if you show the receipt showing you have paid them already. They will blame it on VRBO then when you call VRBO they will blame it on the rental property and take no responsibility. Then when you try to contact the rental property, they will not get back to you. The place was somewhat outdated but okay for the money and good proximity to the slopes but not worth the hassle.
- Carolyn (6/5): - I liked that Expedition Station had rental equipment and the school for learning how to snowboard and ski right outside the building. I didn't like that we weren't told to go to Top of the World to sign in. We went to Expedition Station to check in but weren't able to get in and didn't know where to go.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location for the event we attended
- David (8/5): - We come to snowshoe every year and usually rent a big house. We decided to stay in the village this year. We loved the way the Expedition station was secure and you needed a card to enter. The rooms were very spacious. Lots of cookware, extra blankets and pillows. The bed could have been a little nicer but all in all we were very happy with our stay.
- Tracy L. (10/5): Village condo - This property was ideal for my husband I but would have been perfect if my son had been able to make it as originally planned. Perfect little studio in the village. Steps from all of the restaurants and stores. Nice sized bathroom the kitchen is very tiny with little counter space but very functional and well equipped with dishes. No freezer though, so take note. Place was clean and bud was super comfy. Couch is cozy too but we didn’t pull out the sleeper sofa. We’d stay there again on another visit.
- Laburn S. (8/5): Constant alarm - Places was nice but fire alarm went off several nights in a row. It would go off at 4:00 AM. Went off for no reason nobody was pulling the alarm
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was excellent ! Just need to improve internet service!
- Ellen (8/5): Ski in and ski out - There is a small kinette with 2 burners. Small dorm style fridge so don't over buy. No freezer space for food. Bed and pull out couch was comfortable. The shower takes time to heat up but eventually get hot. TV has casting ability. Right next to shops and slopes. Perfect for skiing. Restaurants are pretty pricey.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location: Right in the heart of the action at Snowshoe. Rentals are right there, slopes are in walking distance, and if you don't ski this property is in the village so many restaurants and shops are right there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Good skiing place, but terrible hotel - rude receptionist, no hot water for 2 days of my 3 days stay, no comforter during cold winter and no room service at all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location was great. The room was well planned with good storage.
I missed not have a lodge or a cozy place to hang out.
- Marina M. (10/5): Great location! Clean and comfortable - Great ski-in / ski-out stay. The only thing is that kitchenette is real small. Do not plan to cook anything complicated.
- heath (4/5): Just uncomfortable - Room would not get above 66 degrees. It was 7 degrees outside. We like to be warm when it’s cold out. And the beds were awful. Good luck getting a goods night rest
- Sheri (8/5): Expedition Station - Our trip was going great until the hot water went out at our hotel. To say it was bitter cold would be an understatement. The hot water was out hotel wide but when I called the customer service desk they acted like it was the first time they had heard about it. Neither myself, my husband, or my five children could shower for that 24 hours and even washing our hands was almost intolerable. No apology or partial refund was offered for our inconvenience.
- Kyle (8/5): Not bad - Been to Denver for a week for the last 3 years and we couldn't make it so tried this out and it was great staying 15 feet from the slopes. Room was nice but it didn't have a HDTV, I know it's splitting hairs but I wanted to play xbox when we off the slopes. There is no room service apparently because no one came to our room, which was fine because we had PLENTY of towels. The beds in my room wasn't comfortable at all! Overall I would stay in the village but at a different location.
- Robert B. (4/5): ok but with short comings - most things were fine but there were no lamps in the room and with over head lighting that was insufficient to allow you to read in bed or on couch. Hot water failed one entire day and night for the entire building - not fun when you get off the slopes and expect a hot shower plus the room had a chemical smell that didn't quite go away. Liked being in the village. very small fridge and no place to drain clean plates
- Brett (10/5): Great Price, great location - Expedition Station is incredibly conveniently located in Snowshoe Village, with equipment rentals located downstairs in the same building, and has equipment lockers located slope side, so you can easily dump your equipment for lunch or the night. Bed was comfortable, and the small kitchenette w/fridge was convenient as well. When traveling with a small group, this will be my first choice every time.
- Burke (6/5): - The photos online are not what you get. It is a tired property. The carpets, furnishings all need to be replaced. We had a broken threshold going into the bathroom. It is also a lot smaller room than you would think. I will try and find a different place next time I stay there is I ever go back.
On the positive side, the shower was excellent!
- Marie (8/5): - The mattress of the sleeping coach was AWFUL, it should be replaced, I slept on the coussins, not comfortable.
The fridge was not working, all our food got frozen, eggs,ham,cheese...
No light in the kitchen
But we had a great time, it is very convenient location. The studio I had rent last year was in a better shape.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Expected somewhat better amenities based on room price. On the other hand, the booking was relatively late in the season, so had to deal with slim pickings related to quality of accommodations.
- Louis (8/5): Close to lifts. Clean room. - Overall good. Got what I expected. Lockers although not used by us should have been.
- James (10/5): Great Location at Snowshoe - This was a great place to stay. The room was clean and in great condition. On the bottom floor is a ski rental location for the ski resort. The room had a great little kitchen where we made several meals. Very quiet location. This is a condo so there is not a hotel staff. The room also came with a ski locker on the first floor.
- ashley (10/5): The best! - Good experience. Worst part was driving up the mountain.
- Amanda (6/5): Slopeside - Being slopeside is the main reason to stay here. The room (1st floor between 110-115) has very outdated interior, leaky windows, and it needed to be cleaned more thoroughly between visitors. Carpet clearly had not been vacuumed before we checked in and the front desk was dismissive when I called about having it done. Also, there was hair in the bathtub. These are base expectations for accommodations. We are considering not using Expedition Station for our next visit. A hotel at the bottom of the mountain is probably more clean and updated, and certainly is less expensive.
- Kristi (4/5): Expedition Station - Room was small, advertises as Jr Suite with separate sitting space, like their is a bedroom, the couch is literally a foot beside the bed. Be careful booking, as you will not be able to modify arrival and destination dates. No hot water on 3rd day, Saturday. Would not recommend.
- derek (4/5): Would consider staying else where - Not good, cannot check in at hotel, you need to go to a separate hotel to check in..facilitates are lack luster at best, staff was rude at check in
- Stephen (4/5): - I paid a resort fee with no resort service. A room cleaning was extra and I had to take out my own trash. Not sure what my extra $40 a day resort fee was for. This is after the $479 I paid for 2 days 3 nights. Had a great time but the "resort" feel was lacking.
- MJ (4/5): Possible to check-in over one hour late - The check-in time was 5 pm but the room was not ready over 6. It was not comfortable situation after long drive over 5 hours. We were tired and the weather was freezing.
The room was tiny and sofa bed was terrible. Thin mattress over paper board was very uncomfortable
- Natali (10/5): Wonderful hotel, wonderful price - Great room for a great price, would definitely stay here again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Snowshoe Weekend - Villages at Snowshoe is a great location with nice restaurants conveniently located. I stayed here while participating in events at the Cass Scenic Railroad.
- Christine (8/5): Village condo experience - This isn't quite a hotel because there are no on-site staff. You meet them at the check-in building, and then you are on your own. The room was turn-key. We were actually surprised at how well equipped the room was with the essentials of a small kitchenette (pots pans, cups, utensils, kettle). The room also had its own router and dvd/vcr. You can just bring your food from home and your media and have a relaxing time here when not on the slopes. I would stay again.
- Lacey (8/5): Location was perfect - We stayed for 4 nights. The location to the slopes was perfect and the shops and restaurants were just a short walk away. The room was small, not spotless. The pillows weren't great, I luckily brought my own. The dishes and cookware were provided, which was wonderful for us. It was just the two of us and the room was quite comfortable. I doubt it would be very comfortable for more than two people. There was enough room for us to cook small breakfasts each morning and to prepare soup on the stove one day. Of course a Starbucks within walking distance is always a good selling point! Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.
- Stephanie (8/5): - check in was pretty bad.
- Scott (6/5): Nice room in a great location - Room is nice for 1 or 2 people with a great location right in snowshoe village and next to the slopes. Walk right out and start skiing.
Room had some dirty spots that went unnoticed on the walls and one of the two burners on the stove didn't work.
Bathroom is an ok size and so is the shower. Overall a good choice.
- Dan (10/5): Fun all year round - I love going to Snowshoe. This was my first time visiting in summer and I will most definitely make this a yearly trip!
- Bernard (10/5): Expedition Station stay - The room was a little small for 4 people but the location and service was just fine. Note, the bathroom could have been good to have a fan inside it to vent air.
- Simon (10/5): Great time/value - Excellent value and outstanding convenience. The ability to leave the building and ski down the mountain was perfect. Great restaurants and a Starbucks 200 yards walk from front of building, priceless!
- Patrick J (10/5): Good Stay - Make sure you check in at one of the other lodges
- Robert (8/5): Great Location With Clean Rooms - The room and building were very clean and centrally located to everyting. There were no "extras" as far as resort amenities are concerned. There was a fire alarm that went off 3 times on Saturday with no real explanation of the cause.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fun Trip! - Everything was in good condition and clean. Just make sure that you know to check in at Allegany Springs or On Top of the World Lodge. There is no check in at Expedition Station which can be confusing.
- Justin (10/5): Long ski weekend... - Nice to stay right in the thick of things at Snowshoe. Super convenient, clean room. Small, but it had everything we needed.
- matt (8/5): Nice place to stay, right next to slopes - Enjoyed the stay, close proximity parking and right on the slopes... Overall great experience
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - There is no actual lobby for the hotel, you have to check it in another building and they were a little unorganized there. However, the hotel is in a great location and was very clean!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad hotel - There was no internet in the room even though it's suppose to be and you have no cell service up there so you can't communicate with outside world
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good place - Nice place. Clean and modern, but no internet.
- Chris the powder hound (10/5): Great hotel for serious skiers - If you want to stay in the village and not spend an arm and a leg, this is your hotel. When I stay st Snowshoe, I need very little from a hotel. A comfortable bed, shower, mini fridge and quick access to the slopes and food. This place has all of that for a great price. The locker room lets out right onto the snow and it's a quick walk to everything in the village. Less time to get to lunch and dinner means more time on the snow!
