Останавливаемся второй раз и опять самые приятные впечатления: вежливый предупредительный персонал, отличная подготовка и уборка номера, хорошие завтраки (доставка в номер, выбор из трёх вариантов). У нас в номере гостит дочь-студентка, диван раскладывается в полноценную кровать. Отличный вид на канал Грибоедова, до Исакия 10 минут прогулочным шагом. Здание историческое, почти двести лет назад проживал Гоголь, отсюда название. Убранством номера в классическом стиле. В номере есть всё необходимое, в том числе махровые халаты. Единственное пожелание: капсюльная кофе-машина. В следующий раз будем планировать остановиться здесь же

Mention speciale a tout le personnel qui parle anglais et leur professionnalisme n'a d'egal que leur gentillesse. Suite balcon confortable et tres pratique ( baignoire balneo ).

• Verified traveler (8/5): A very comfortable and nice hotel - I have stayed at this hotel more than once and it is not my last time. It is a very comfortable hotel. I was travelling alone and I felt very safe. It is nice that most of the staff in the reception speaks very well english. And they are very helpful. f I had any wishes - another pillow, another room, in need of water.....they were always ready to help. It is also of great comfort that there are people in the reception 24 hour. The rooms are very comfortable and nice with a small fridge in the room. The breakfast is ok.very standard for russian I believe. If you exspect a standard as in denmark you will get disappointed. But for me it was a minor thing. There are tv in the room. But only russian unfortunately. The wifi works very well and I could watch series on tablet and make phone calls abroad with no problems. The hotel is placed in a nice area with everything you need closeby and you can walk to the isac cathedral and other important historical things within approximately 25 minutes. The best of recommandation!!

The breakfast and bar was down stairs and I couldn’t climb the stairs properly! But otherwise the food was great and the drink from the bar was the best I have ever drunk! It was perfectly made! The room was clean, big and airy! I loved everything about the place except for those stairs and of course the lift. The lift was too small! But otherwise I enjoyed my stay there

Vi hadde oppgradert til juniorsuite og er meget fornøyd med rommet og utsikten. Bra beliggenhet i forhold til Metro og gåavstand til Eremittasjen osv. God frokost med varm og kald mat og til og med et lite glass musserende vin.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - It was a standard hotel. They spoke English. The bed was springy and felt old. I had mosquitos in my room the first night and was getting bit. I asked to change rooms, they refused and gave me a plug-in. It didn’t help. I was only able to sleep after I killed almost all of them. My room had an old smell to it and the shower is a tub. hotel was a 20-25 minute walk to the sites. Saint Petersburg is very walkable with a lot of things to see, so the walk wasn’t bad. Wouldn’t stay again though.

• myungjun (10/5): 상트 페테르부르크, 고골호텔에서 4일 - 상트 페테르부르크 첫 여행을 유명한 작가 고골이 살았었다는 고풍스런 건물에 있는 고골호텔에서 4일 동안 투숙했다. 300년이 넘은 고도의 거미줄 같은 운하옆에 위치하여 조망도 좋았다. 호텔 조식도 훌륭했다, - - 식탁의 넵킨에 붉은 루즈 자국이 남겨진 문제 이외는 대체로 만족했다.

• Michael (10/5): Buchen!!! Sehr empfehlenswert! - Super freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Alle Empfehlungen, ob Essen, Shoppen, Sehenswürdigkeiten oder Geld tauschen, waren Volltreffer. Sollte es mich noch einmal nach Sankt Petersburg verschlagen, dann wieder dieses Hotel. Das Hotel hat zwar nicht die neueste Ausstattung aber einen gewissen Charme. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt.
• Jiri (8/5): Auf den zweiten Blick sehr gut - Es gibt 2 Hotels in diesem Haus. Hotel Gogol im 3-5 Stock und Hotel Gogol-House im 2. Stock. Der erste Eindruck ist zwar leicht enttäuschend. Die Einrichtung ist nüchtern und etwas altmodisch. Schlussendlich bietet das Hotel Gogol doch alles was man von einem 3*- 4* Hotel erwarten kann. Die Zimmer sind sehr gross und sauber und die Lage angesichts der Grösse von St. Petersburg sehr gut. Wir sind 5 Tage geblieben und können es gerne als ein preiswertes und freundliches 4* Hotel empfehlen.

• Paolo (8/5): - Ottima la posizione, abbastanza centrale (in 15/20 minuti a piedi si raggiungono buona parte delle attrazioni principali) e comunque molto vicina alla metropolitana. Locali comuni curati e di buon livello. Colazione varia e abbondante. Dalla camera, denominata "suite", ci aspettavamo qualche cosa in più, anche se nel complesso era carina e con i servizi adeguati. Unica nota negativa il terzo letto, che, passi che fosse "aggiunto", era una branda con appoggiato un materasso alto pochi centimetri per cui era quasi come stare sul ferro; ci siamo lamentati di ciò e ci hanno prontamente aggiunto un secondo materasso, anche se comunque rimaneva una situazione arrangiata in qualche modo.

• Janine (10/5): Tolle Lage für einen unschlagbaren Preis - Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, sodass sich die wichtigsten Punkte fußläufig erreichen lassen. Es ist von außen recht unscheinbar aber das Zimmer (Junior Suite) war sehr schön. Es hat einen Balkon und eine tolle Aussicht auf den Kanal. Außerdem gab es einen Whirlpool. Alles ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen aber das tat dem Charme keinen Abbruch. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Frühstück bot ein paar leckere Highlights der russischen Küche. Alles in allem ist die Auswahl jedoch übersichtlich. Ein Manko: Die Shampoo und Seifendöschen waren bereits benutzt. Das ist meiner Meinung nach ein No-Go, da der Aufwand diese umzutauschen auch nicht besonders groß ist. Darauf muss man definitiv achten.
• MELTEM (6/5): Worth to recommend, but the breakfast awful - Hotel is in nice and secure neighborhood with variety of restaurant and cafe choices. It's very close to subway and bus stops which you may not really need since the hotel 10 mins walk away from Nevski Prospekt and 20 mins from Palace Square. The room that we had was quite small but we survived in some way for three days. But they should not call "breakfast" the thing they serve in the mornings, I've never seen such low quality breakfast in any 4 stars hotel I ever stayed.The thing they serve in the morning(I can not even call "breakfast") can not be even improved, they should make radical changes, start to serve a regular, normal breakfast. Besides the breakfast issue, it's worth to stay again...

• Ivan (2/5): Very poor management - This hotel has very poor management. We booked and paid a night via Hotels.com. But our flight was significantly delayed and we didn’t make it to the hotel for that night. After long discussions the management of the hotel didn’t want to understand our situation and didn’t agree to cancel the night, nor to shift it by a day nor to book a new night with a discount. Very disappointing attitude!

Außerdem führt der Kanal Gribojedova, vor der Haustür verlaufend, innerhalb von 15 Minuten zu Fuß direkt zum Newski Prospekt.

• Regina (4/5): Hotel - Hotel com localização próxima de metrô, mas seu acesso horrível. Tem um pequeno elevador para transporte de bagagens e pessoas e não para no andar da recepção. Você precisa descer um andar de escadas para chegar na recepção. Não tem limpeza de quarto no domingo. O café da manhã é servido no mesmo andar dos quartos. Boa refeição. As caminhadas a pé são imensas, tudo fica longe.
• Jukka (8/5): Kotoisa ja siisti hotelli - Hintaansa nähden erinomainen valinta. Siisti hotelli hyvällä aamupalalla. Helppo tulla ja mennä joko kävellen tai metrolla.
• Bin (10/5): - エルミタージュ美術館からは少し離れていますが、サンクトの中心部に近く良い立地だと思います。ホテルの佇まいはヨーロッパの古いホテルといった雰囲気があります。受付は親切でした。ホテル内は決して豪華では有りませんが、清潔で、コスパを考えれば最高でした。
• Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel liegt sehr zentral - Wir konnten die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichen, es ist sehr sauber, das Personal in der Rezeption ist sehr kompetent und spricht sehr gut Englisch, Frühstückspersonal leider nicht. Das Frühstück ist sehr abwechslungsreich und vielfältig. Die Zimmer sehr sauber. Das Hotel kann man wirklich empfehlen,

• Graham (6/5): Great location from which to explore the city. - The hotel is in a perfect location. It is close to a Metro Station, some great shopping areas and places for eating and drinking. The latter being essential because the breakfast was the same every day and was often cold and unpalatable. That said, the reception staff were very friendly and approachable and the cleaning staff efficient. It should be added that if you are claustrophobic or have difficulty with stairs this is not the place for you. The lift is so tiny that any more than two is a tight squeeze!
• Asanga (10/5): Wonderful experience !!! - I was delighted by the superior service being received from the staff esp. at the reception. I had no barrier in communicating since they all were well conversant in English. Food was great , not enough spicy though (Russian Food is not spicy by nature, I guess). Room was nicely arranged with all the necessary amenities, very clean and it was very comfortable ! We had a nice view of the Canal and also the City. We didn't have to use taxi since Spasskaya and Sadovaya Metro stations were located very close by (02 to 03 min walk) which connect to all the main tourist attractions. Overall, our stay at Hotel Gogol House was wonderful and we would definitely pick the same hotel if we are to travel St. Petersburg, again !
• Joe (10/5): Had a wonderful visit - Great stay in a great location. They serve a great breakfast. Plent of restaurants near by. Its a great centrally located Hotel. The staff is friendly and polite.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Well located hotel in SPB - Hotel had freshly renovated rooms that were clean and tidy and AC worked well except during the first day. Hotel did good work by fixing AC immediately after our complaint. WIFI was good and Hotel was nicely located near three metro stations that connected well to other parts of the town. Also it was possible to walk to some of the main attractions in SPB. Breakfast was average.
• Bondtrails (8/5): Hotel is clean, well kept, with a wonderful staff - The staff at the Gogol hotel was near excellent. Even before I checked in, they were very helpful in providing me documentation to assist with my visa. When I arrived, they were very friendly, checked us in very quickly and were very eager to provide directions and advice about where to go, what to see, and what to eat. While the rooms were small (equivalent to a small NYC bedroom), they were very clean and complete. The rooms were modern, well appointed, and had everything needed for a 3 or 4 day stay in St. Petersburg. Also included in the hotel is morning breakfast. Not a cheap continental breakfast but a very nicely filled buffet with all foods appropriate for breakfast.
• Carman PL (8/5): Unforgettable travel experience - hotel is centrally located with high accessibility to nearby tourist spots. Staff could speak fluent English and we were easier to communicate with them. However, the breakfast was a bit disappointed as food quality was not good enough. The signage of showing hotel name was not prominent that we were not easy to recognise. In addition, tourists should be aware of taxi driver at St Petersburg train station, we were over charged of 2,000 ruble from station to hotel. It really ruined my confidence on them.
• Mark (6/5): Ok hotel - A descent hotel but I felt a little pricy for the quality. If you can't handle stairs this might not be the hotel for you. The elevator did not stop at the actual floors where the rooms were located but in between so you either had to carry your bags up or down a half flight of stairs. The desk staff were helpful. The breakfast was good. Towels were threadbare and edges were fraying. Room was clean. Located on one of the canals and a 2 minute walk to the Haymarket Square with very nice restaurants and shopping. The square was the best thing about the stay.
• Verified traveler (6/5): just ok, but not expensive either - Nice big whirlpool tub, nice views of canal, but otherwise very spartan and not at all cozy. Good included breakfast served all morning.

• Lana (8/5): One day in St.Petersberg - Just finished a cruise from Moscow to St. Petersburg. Leaving very early in AM, so not able to try their breakfast. They had upgraded us to a "family suite" which gave us a TV in each room. From the pictures on their website our room seems to have been a more utilitarian room than some of the others. Very clean, air-conditioning, very secure, good location. Tiny elevator but adequate. Pleasant staff. No bar, only breakfast. They did recommend a VERY enjoyable restaurant 1/2 half block away called Xouy Xapuo for dinner (open 24/7). Perfectly adequate for our one night stay but might be a little too spartan for several days. Near shops on Nevskij Prospect and the outstanding Faberge Museum.
• pertti.pekari@eqsor.fi (10/5): Great location in the heart of St Petersburg - We had excellent service in Hotel Gogol. The room facilities were very clean and the personnel was polite and helpful. The location was great. Just a walking distance to Metro and the key attractions like Hermitage, Admiralty, St Isaacs and Nevski Prospect. From our point of view the Hotel was a great choice.
• Octopeg (8/5): Value for money. - Have stayed in many more expensive yet poorer hotels in St Petersburg. Exceptionally pleasant & helpful staff, huge room, very clean with canal view. Only downside, no English news channel. oh Complimentary bottles of water in room.
• Roman (10/5): Excelent location and new - Close to the Nevskij nightlife and many restaurants and sightseeing, brand new, very good breakfast buffet, and not expensive!
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was perfect, breakfast environment unusually excellent and beautiful. The only problem I had was that I lost a credit card in a restaurant, they rang my hotel but the hotel did not inform me that the restaurant had rang (they did try to ring when I was not there but put no further efforts for something so important, such as writing a note inside room to contact reception or ringing me at night while known to be in hotel). But other than that all service was brilliant.
