Guest Reviews
- Elizabeth (10/5): Excelente lugar.
Gut funktionierende Klimaanlage jedoch sehr laut. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. - Kein Parkplatz.
- Kein Telefon, Rezeption vom Zimmer nicht erreichbar.
- Schlechte Beleuchtung im Bad. Nassrasur eher schwierig bis gefährlich :-))
- Kein Föhn im Bad.
- Personal teilweise kein Englisch.
- Schlechte Absprachen zwischen Booking.com und Hotel
- Pagarani (8/5): lovely stay and would happily stay again if we return to mexico city. - The hotel was located in the condesa area which was great for us as it was a lovely safe area to walk around in with good bars, cafes and restaurants. close to major attractions too.
Shout out to Pedro who prepared breakfast for us in the terrace every morning and is a lovely man. Great guy and thank you for finding a channel i could watch a football game on at 8am :-) hotel was going through some renovations which were a little disturbing but not too much.
- Edward (10/5): - Excellent location. Fantastic breakfast. Wonderful staff. Lighting in bathroom is insufficient.

- Elizabeth (1/5): I wish I didn't have to write this review - Not much, to be honest. Would be a really cute stay and location if not for the unfortunate circumstances. Bed was comfy the one night I was there, bathroom updates were stylish and the soap smelled nice. Where to begin? I really really never write bad reviews, but I do feel I need to review and make it known what is going on just for the sake of others who maybe want to book a stay here. When I arrived my first night, it was 630pm and I was alone. I walk into the lobby, fully under construction (tarps/dust/supplies/tools everywhere). A woman at the front doesn't even say hello but immediately says, "as you can see we are under construction, is this going to be a problem?" I'm of course flustered and say, do I have a choice? Not sure what I was supposed to do in this situation since I arrived in a foreign country at night and didn't want to have to walk the streets for a new hotel. So I said I guess this is fine and went up to my room. The whole place smelled of sheet rock and plaster/construction and I immediately starting thinking this is probably unsafe. Construction started bright and early (which they did warn me of the night before) but it made it impossible to get in and out of the building safely. They had put up a tarp covering the bottom of the stairs and only exit to the building. When I walked out, all the construction workers even looked confused why I was there! There were saws buzzing and dust flying! I couldn't even open the windows in my room because there was dust all outside too. I could also mention that they said free breakfast would be room service--they said dial 002 to order-- but there was no phone lol?? So with ALL that, I decided to leave the hotel as I did not want to breathe in the dust and plaster floating everywhere for a week. I tried with booking to try to get my money back but of course it is nonrefundable. I feel extremely scammed and am really disappointed with how this was handled. I feel like I should have been warned of the construction or even not been allowed to book during this time! I won't be using booking.
- Matthew (2/5): Dust on everything, no support services, hammering. - We’d stayed there twice before, both in 2022, and it was fantastic—cozy, great location, helpful staff, delicious breakfast on the roof. It’s still a great location. We showed up this time and thought the place was closed. The lobby desk was gone and the stairwell was closed off with plastic. Dust in the air, construction guy mixing pointing mortar. Eventually we checked in by an attendant wearing a respirator, but also learned the roof with the kitchen was also being renovated so breakfast was only in the room and brought in by staff tracking dust everywhere. And that was the theme—dust. On bags, on the elevator (used to move the mortar, supplies to the roof), on us, in our lungs. And hammering.
I’m sure it will look great there in a month or two. My complaint is they should have suspended guest services or at least notified us about the construction ahead of time so we could have made other arrangements. BOOKING could have been better about this too.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great location and comfy bed - Location Building work being done
- Claudette (8/5): Great hotel, will be much better when renovations completed. Staff was great!!! - Location -great beds -amazing shower’s Renovations happening and we were not advised.
- Paul (1/5): disappointed regarding not having Wi-Fi or a clean hotel - I paid extra for a sauna, and it was worth it I was not aware when I booked this at the hotel would be under construction with dust everywhere, my bedroom floor had pieces of wood flooring, missing!
My reservation said early check-in I was not able to do so. I did not have Wi-Fi for the entire 2 nt. stay
There was no apology or compensation for this inconvenience
- Linda (10/5): 10/10 - Superb stay! The room was huge, the bed wide, the mattress the most comfortable ever! Despite there being some renovations going on during our stay, it did not interrupt our stay a single bit. Huge shoutout to the breakfast host, the kindest man with excellent breakfast and humor.
Strongly recommend this place for great night sleep and a place that has a soul! N/A
- Anne (10/5): - The location was exceptional, the staff was very nice, and the terrace was very comfortable.
- Alexander (7/5): -
- sharon (4/5): Great location but construction was a surprise and uncomfortable. Staff were very friendly. - Location and the staff Active construction, poor plumbing and cleanliness. Also the sound carried through the doors.
- Elizabeth (3/5): well, the location was good and there were a few bright spots, I would not stay at this hotel againn - the coffee was good, the staff tried. Pedro especially was very helpful. breakfast not ready by 8 am. room was unpleasantly cold. shower set up is awful. you have to be in the shower to turn it on and the water is cold for quite awhile before it turns warm. there should be a brush in the bathroom to clean the toilet. bump in the floor needs to be fixed. night table lamp didn’t work fully. it would be helpful if the staff spoke English.
- Miriam (1/5): A SCAM ! They didn’t want to reimburse any money and Booking asked them to reimburse us because we documented with video - The location was good but the building is old and has structural problems They had construction going on from 8 am to 8 pm and didn’t care. This is not a Boutique Hotel it is an old building. The experience was terrible
- Megan (5/5): Check to see if construction has been completed, and if not, ask for a discount! - The neighborhood provides lots to see and do, and a safe and friendly area. The staff that run the breakfast were very friendly and accommodating- definitely a highlight, along with the very tasty made-to-order breakfast options. The bed was also very comfortable, and room cleaning was offered daily and efficient. I enjoyed the fragrance of the local toiletries in the bathroom, the large shower, and the convenience of the tray for my personal items on the countertop. The tv and internet didn’t work consistently. One night I woke up to water in the floor that seemed to come from the sink. I never determined why it leaked, but i cleaned it up and it had stopped by morning and it didn’t happen again. On a couple occasions I could not get the toilet to flush. I had to ask the attendant, and was lectured about toilet paper rather than offered assistance to the embarrassing issue of not being able to flush. (We had been using the bin for toilet paper as is suggested in Mexico due to old sewer system). The biggest problem though was construction occurring on the property each day. From around 8am-8pm during our 6 day stay we hear loud hammering, drilling, etc. They worked on the floor below us, but also the floor we were staying on. One day we opened our door and they had removed the ceiling and were redoing the electrical. There was a lot of dust and noise and no mention of any of it from the staff, nor any written notices. A couple of times while in bed I felt the room shake which could have been due to large construction movement. Hard to say. It was a nuisance to hear hammering at 8am in the morning outside my door, and I think I am extremely tolerant. I observed other guests complaining and leaving, (and getting refunds). We did not do that. Just be aware that this is currently happening, and be sure to check that it will not affect your stay if it would bother you.
- Melanie (10/5): - The sauna was amazing and the room very comfortable and clean. location was great ! Friendly staff
- David (5/5): Great room, but make sure you stay on a high floor to avoid the bar noise below. - The location was great! The room was large with a comfortable bed and a clean and large bathroom. The breakfast was delicious! The gentleman who was working the breakfast area was wonderful and very gentle and kind. My room was right above two restaurants, which became bars and stayed open until 3 or 4 AM. I could hear the music throughout the night. Then, there was a sewerage problem which was in the front lobby, which made entering and exiting the hotel a mess. I know, that part wasn't their fault, but it was not pleasant.
- Nelson (10/5): -
- Sally (9/5): - Very comfortable bed. Great size room. Wonderful sauna. Good location for us. Delicious breakfast each day on the rooftop with wonderful service. Our last two days construction was happening on the floor just above our room. It started early and continued into the evening.
- Andere H. (7/5): Ok - It room is confortable and quiet Smell on bathroom was not good. Looks like the drainage is so old and smelly
- David (10/5): - A1
- julie (10/5): - Lovely small hotel in charming neighborhood. Loved the morning desayuna on rooftop terrace and room furnishings....
- Nelson Fabian (8/5): -
No encontré nada negativo.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - This place was clean and the staff was very kind. But the best part was how close it was to almost everything, all within walking distance.
- Samantha Lizette (10/5): Un lugar excelente y buena ubicación.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Beautiful boutique hotel and centrally located.
- Martha (10/5): -
- Gustavo (9/5): Buena ubicación, comodo, limpio y buen desayuno.
- Sal (10/5): - Great place to stay it has everything you’ll need, close to restaurants, bars and the most iconic areas like Reforma Chapultepec Zocalo etc.
Chef Pedro is awesome great service and his food is mmmmm… delicious.
See ya next time.
- Adriana (10/5): - The best thing about the property is location and price. It is not super luxurious, but it is perfectly adequate. It’s a beautiful walk too many restaurants. You get daily breakfast from the nicest cooks. We really enjoyed our stay! They did run out of water bottles one day and did not make any attempt to go get some. We had to go buy our own. I will continue to stay at this property whenever I visit CDMX!
- Ernest (8/5): - Good area to walk around. Good location
- Sal (10/5): - Just great
- Martha (8/5): - The location is great. The price is excellent for the location.
- Martin (9/5): Loved the location and the room, and a great value compared to other options. Would stay here again - Great location and clean accommodations
- Lucha (8/5): -
- frank (8/5): Great, can’t wait to go back for a longer trip - Like the location and the fact that the area was walkable and the sauna in the room was a great addition The presence of staff at the front desk was not constant
- Cassandra (10/5): Can’t wait to stay here again! The perfect stay in Condesa. - So cozy, amazing location, delicious breakfast, and the staff is so kind and accommodating!
- Maria (1/5): 0 - Nothing 🤨😩
- Sifuentes (10/5): Muy buen lugar recomendado - La ubicación Todo bien
- Ernesto (10/5): Excellent - Amazing location and great staff.
- todd (8/5): Charming, great staff, good breakfast great location - Food was good. Fresh fruit fantastic. Great coffee. Great staff. Very clean rooms, great bedding. Hot showers. Pillows a bit too firm.
- Bryan (10/5): - The staff were incredible and super nice
- Thomas (10/5): - Excellent
- Ted (8/5): Good value for the money. - Spacious room, big comfortable bed.
Nice shower.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Good breakfast included in price.
Nice terraza. The lighting. No light in front of the bathroom mirror, made it very hard to shave. Also the light for the desk was underneath the desk instead of above.
- Larry (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (10/5): - Location is superb - great neighbourhood, very walkable and lots of stores and restaurants. Brochures, info (e.g. WiFi instructions, breakfast details, etc.) would have helpful to have in room.
Room was very nice and bathroom was large. A/C worked great when it was hot, and we were also able to open windows when it was cooler.
A lot of attention to detail in the room (nice fabrics, pottery in the room.etc)
Breakfast was great (choose your own, essentially) on the rooftop. Reception staff could have been more engaged and helpful, but restaurant staff very pleasant and fun.
- Rene (10/5): - Very quiet and clean hotel! We would definitely recommend!
- Devon Lawrence (10/5): - Husband and I stayed for one week. We loved having pancakes in the morning and walking to the park and museums during the day. There are some great lunch and dinner options just around the blocks of the hotel. The place was well kept, the staff was amazing and lovely even though we don’t speak much Spanish. We would definitely stay there again… please note in Mexico City. You place toilet paper in the trash everywhere you go, but all the comforts of home!
- Amabelle (9/5): Book the room with sauna. You will not regret it! - Loved the location and the large room. We had one of the 3 rooms with a sauna and used it everyday. The room was huge and the rain shower system was delightful. The breakfast in the rooftop was adequate and starts at 8am. Having an elevator is great and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. We arrived late and there were lots of dining and bar options within a short walk from the hotel. Lots of street eats nearby as well. We felt safe walking at night and many good restaurants and bars even on the same block. Excellent shopping close by and walking distance to parks and coffeehouses.
- william (10/5): - This is a great deal. Pedro and Sandria host a wonderful breakfast. Not too fancy which is what we like. The area is really close to some amazing restaurants and taco places.
- Philipp (8/5): - Neighborhood is great. Hotel a little old but nice and clean.
- Jodi (10/5): - Loved the rooftop area for evening relaxing and breakfast. All staff was great and very helpful, especially the breakfast crew. Loved the location and rooms!
- Alfredo (10/5): - This place is the best the staff is awesome and this place really makes you feel like home 🙏
- Alfredo (10/5): - Excellent
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Loved it
- Elaine (8/5): - Cute hotel in a cute area. A little noisy but worth the price.
- Ryon (10/5): - Everyone at Maria Condesa is phenomenal and so lovely.
- philip (10/5): - Fantastic area
- Hallie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (4/5): - This hotel claims it’s a 4 star hotel. In all honesty it’s a 2 at most. The best thing about this place is the neighborhood it’s located in. The TV remote would not work, I had to keep getting up to turn on and off. Towels were so worn out that some of them had stains and tears. Practically no lighting because it was sooo dim and one of our overhead lights would not turn on.
The product line for shampoo and conditionner advertised on the website was false, and you’re lucky if you find someone at the reception after 6/7 pm . Hit or miss.
The breakfast was awful, I attached an image of the omelette that was burnt, orange juice was poured from a store bought box and the chef is also your server and your maintenance person…
For the price, quality was SUBPAR. I would not recommend.
- Whitney (8/5): - The staff were lovely and we appreciated how spacious our room was as well as our private sauna. We used it every night! The biggest detractor was the loud music from the bar downstairs. The room was advertised as soundproof but we didn’t find that to be the case. That being said - I think we would stay here again - the neighbourhood cannot be beat!
- Oscar (10/5): - It was perfect.
- Maribel (8/5): - Breakfast was always great. Made to order.
- Hagop (4/5): -
- Erin (10/5): - I would definitely stay here again!
- Jeanne (10/5): - The room was very quiet with double windows so we could open them if we wanted or close them and have a very quiet room. The in room heat pump worked well. Only complaint was that the upstairs deck was being renovated while we were there. But having breakfasts delivered to room made up for it-a real breakfast with eggs, tortillas and fruit.
The king size bed was very comfortable.
- Vivek (10/5): - Great location! Very clean and friendly atmosphere.
- Natalia (6/5): - Property is quite noisy at all hours and the bathrooms have a moldy old smell with no exhaust fan. Clean and great location but other than the noise it was a solid 7.
- Donna (8/5): - Very nice. Quaint. Love the location. Good restaurants all around it. My only complaint is that I asked for late check out the night before and they agreed to an extra half hour only. Then they still called me at the regular checkout time to remind me to check out.
- Hixon (6/5): Comfortable and well located, but a bit worn down and very loud for the cost. - I liked the location near lots of shops, transit, and good food. The bed and room were comfortable and clean. The staff was polite, but not particularly helpful. They sat on the computer or their phones the whole time. It felt more like teenagers helping at a desk rather than a proper hotel. The floors are quite old and worn and much of the walls if you look closely. The real downside was getting a room on the 1st floor right above a bar that is open and loud until late every night. If I hadn't brought ear plugs and played white noise on my phone all night I would never have been able to sleep.
- Joanna (8/5): - Lovely little boutique hotel with bars and restaurants all around. All pavements in the area are very uneven so is taxing for people with mobility restrictions. The lift was also a bit glitchy. Felt welcomed and safe the whole time
- Wendy (8/5): - A very enjoyable stay!
- TRINA (10/5): - Big room , very comfortable bed with beautiful accessories. The bathroom was also large with a large shower. I was extremely careful because it was tiled and slippery when wet.
- Daniela (7/5): I liked the stay but I think the hotel can get better . I like the sir that I requested the breakfast. He was so gentle - Mainly the location . We like the breakfast in spite of it was served in the room because of terrace renovation. The lights of the bathroom were bad . It was not comfortable to have the bathroom in the room with no table and chairs . The TV was not working well in one day ( the signal was bad )
- Cheryl (10/5): - The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. We had breakfast there every morning and it was great
- Jaquelin (1/5): Very stressful with a lot of arguing and yelling. - Good location I had terrible customer service.
When I checked in they told me I had not paid for the room. I had the message from Booking that I was billed, and I saw the charge on my VISA. I told them that I had paid.
At 11-12:00 at night they pounded on my door demanding payment. I told them that I had paid. She continued to pound on the door until I yelled NO! really loud.
I was really disappointed that there was no terrace for breakfast or drinks in the evening. It's one reason I chose this hotel.
No one spoke English except the chef.
- Cheryl (6/5): - Overall good stay but a few issues. TV and refrigerator were not working. Our room was on the first floor and there is considerable noise well past midnight from street level restaurants. The bed and shower were great!
- Jeanne (8/5): - The included breakfast was great and filing! However the terrasse on the roof was closed. Very kind staff and extremely well located.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Location and staff The rooftop terrace, which is one of the reasons we picked the place, was closed for reconstruction.
- Sandra (4/5): - Definitely not a 4 star hotel as advertised!
The hotel has seen better days. We stayed in room 301. Rust lined the bathroom windowsills, and if you opened the window you were greeted with a very dirty AC unit covered in pigeon droppings. The room was old and dingy, one nightlight did not work. I found spots of blood on one of the pillows. We thought that we were feeling mini earthquakes but checked online and there weren't any reports then realized the building shook every time a truck rolled by. Kinda scary infrastructure.
The terrace was closed for construction so hopefully their renovation will do them some good.
Customer service was the worst. Being a platinum member, I specifically booked a "VIP" Access room on Orbitz since I had a red eye flight. I messaged the property a week ahead to request an early check if possible. No response. We arrived and ZERO accommodation was made for an early check in but she did tell me (via Google translate) I could could email or WhatsApp them to see if my room was ready and if so the charge would be $400 pesos. It's supposed to be complimentary as a Platinum VIP, but I didn't even go there since it didn't seem like the room would be ready anyway. There was no attempt to even check us into the system and when I returned at 3:15pm, that's when they asked for a security deposit, etc. Inefficient. Another had her boyfriend/friends hanging out in the lobby every evening we arrived.
I'm befuddled by the good reviews.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Wonderful hotel and staff. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to be right in an excellent neighborhood.
Close to great attractions, cute building, friendly helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Solid service, free breakfast, mediocre toilet
- Sylvia (8/5): - Staff was friendly, good location. Unfortunately the rooftop deck as closed for renovations and the bathroom smelled terrible
- Marzena (2/5): - I couldn't stay at this property due to trip cancellation. I tried to contact the hotel to see if I can cancel my stay but nobody responds to any messages or emails. They just ignored any communication.
