Guest Reviews
- Elaine (8/5): - We choose to stay at the Antelope as it was close to my daughters home and we could park the car and walk around to her house. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a full English Breakfast the following morning which was hot (always a winner in my eyes) and the staff couldn't do enough to make sure you were happy with the breakfast etc. Some minor points within the Antelope I feel could be improved - i.e. one of our towels had several marks on it and to improve the look within the bathroom the toilet seat needed attention and the shower tray had started to show signs of mold. These things would not deter me from going back to stay at the Antelope but little tweaks of improvements would overall enhance our enjoyment. A good, friendly and enjoyable stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfectly okay - Stayed one night as we were going to a party nearby. Landlord was cheerful and helpful. Room was rather tired - although we had a lovely big shower and lots of hot water/pressure, which was excellent. Good breakfast the next morning.
- Sara (10/5): - Delicious food, great vegetarian breakfast, cooked to order
- Hilary (8/5): - The food in the restaurant was lovely and beautifully cooked.
- Paul (10/5): - Brilliant, staff
Couldn’t stay for breakfast so they put me a pack lunch up which was excellent
Definitely recommend this place
- Colin (10/5): Very glad we stayed - Everyone we encountered, staff or guest, was friendly. The atmosphere was calm, the village is beautiful - and an interesting mix of old and new.
Breakfast was also super.
- mark (8/5): - Back in the village I used to live good to see not much has changed still warm and friendly
- Teresa (4/5): - Food vastly over priced for basic quality. Bar manager(?) running the bar & dealing with our book-in etc - he was very helpful. Alas the landlady who appeared early evening'ish was not really bothered having asked us if everything was ok the food, which I'd said was not particularly hot. Such a great shame as this old inn could be so much better - reduce food prices, even short term, to get some repeat customers! The room's bathroom door needs sorting out as it had to be fought with to close or open it. Really is such a waste as the bar area, almost devided into two, with open fire seemed busy enough with locals at the weekend. A decent sized dining/breakfast area. The stairwell area up to the rooms could do with a freshen up. Not the time of year to make use of the beer garden clearly on view was the big gas tank serving the inn as the fencing screening it had partly collapsed due to its age. Plenty of parking.
- Steve (10/5): - Great accommodation with a cracking pub/restaurant. Lovely staff. Good breakfast. Good room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good service lovely breakfast, and evening meal, but most uncomfortable bed, only one toilet roll when we run out had to ask for more, not the cleanest of rooms. Lovely old building, staff friendly.
- Phil (10/5): - Excellent room, lovely bathroom. Great dinner & cooked breakfast. Plenty of parking out back, will definitely stay again
- Rebecca (10/5): Lovely stay with a great host - Lovely room in an old inn.
Couldn’t do enough for us. When we said would couldn’t make breakfast, we got a packed breakfast made for us to take away.
- Bob (6/5): - Very friendly staff. Food and interior could use a redo but the room was very clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Short stay - Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable room but somewhat dated and smelling stale. Large bathroom with a huge walk in shower. Full english breakfast included. Felt slightly overpriced compared to other places we have stayed but was fine for a one night stay visiting friends nearby.
- Rachel (10/5): - Friendly staff, comfortable and clean room. Great food and service.
- Alan (8/5): Umpa Lumpa - An adequate overnight venue but unfortunately my bed (room 5) had a very uncomfortable bed. Breakfast was good as was the service generally. The evening meal was OK but not special. Beer (6X) was good.
- Martin (8/5): - The staff was very helpful.
- MARIANNE (6/5): - could do with a lot of repair work
some scaffolding in place but saw nothing bee=ing done
- Scott (8/5): - The staff were friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast were outstanding. It was a very warm day. I would have loved a portable fan for our room but there were none to be had.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Large spacious room and bathroom. A good location but A bit noisy until well after midnight.
Good breakfast in the morning.
- Vijay (10/5): - Nice friendly place, amazing service and lovely food.
- Emma (8/5): Great - Really lovely hotel in a really lovely area. I would definitely stay again. Xx
- Paul (10/5): Kak dela - Ukrainian ladies, very friendly and trying hard to please the customer
- Pitt (8/5): - Good breakfast
- Verified traveler (6/5): For a small country pub, it was good. - Great service, comfortable bed, good bathroom, limited drinks menu, friendly and attentive staff (there was only one person there, who coped brilliantly).
- Verified traveler (6/5): Reasonable accommodation - Reasonably good, but just seemed a bit expensive for the overall offering. Some modernisation has been done, but still more to be done.
But its location worked for us so no real complaints!
