- kristi (9/5): Elegant hotel, great location, clean bedrooms and lovely friendly staff. - A wonderful choice of food for breakfast. Prompt and friendly service. The hotel is located in a lovely part of Saddleworth, it was clean, comfy and a delightful experience. The evening menu is very nice and service is was excellent. I thought the menu for lunch and evening meals were quite expensive. But overall, I DID ENJOY MY STAY HERE

- Garside (9/5): - Breakfast was awesome. The hotel is a few doors down from the house my dad grew up in, so it was neat to explore where he grew up.

- Lionel (8/5): Very happy with the quality, service and location. It was our second visit. - Our room was a good size with space for 2 very comfortable arm chairs.
We had an excellent breakfast. The free standing bath looked good but we had a little difficulty with its plumbing.
- amanda (9/5): - The service and food at the Restaurant was Amazing. We travel round the county for work and this by far was one of the best 10 out of 10 . We will definitely return.
- Simon (10/5): A brilliant place to stay. - Pretty well everything - facilities, breakfast, staff. There was a small crack in the sink in our shower room.

- Bernadette (10/5): HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! - I absolutely adored staying here. I originally booked a night, I stayed for 4. The rooms are just beautiful. I felt at home. So cozy! The staff really did look after me, they went above and beyond to make me feel at home. The food is delicious.....not need for just eat! Such a friendly place to stay. I'll be back!! Soon!!! Absolutely nothing I'd didn't like!
- Linda (8/5): Very pleasant - The staff are very welcoming and friendly . Very comfortable and clean . I think they could provide more for breakfast , the cooked breakfast is delicious but fruit( chopped) and maybe pastries and butter and marmalade.

- David (10/5): Just Perfect - Clean, welcoming, homely - polite staff, excellent food, comfortable, quiet…I could go on Not a thing
- Neil Molyneux (7/5): Excellant restaurant great real ale very busy so must be popular. - THe location was difficult to get to (Depenadant on how you approach) driving through Manchester was terrible in rush hour. The room became unberably hot during the night (Found the bathroom radiator on full in the morning after opening a window._
- Steven (10/5): -
- Theo (8/5): -
- Liam (10/5): - Could do with a fridge in the room

- Chris (5/5): Mediocre, for the money I’ve stayed in a lot better. - Great view from the room. A few stains on the bed clothes, Bathroom had some black mould, and pretty shoody fittings. Quite Noisy with doors of other rooms. Breakfast (Beans on toast) was pretty poor, would have thought they’d use sourdough for the toast not some mighty white sliced which came soggy. Skipped the rest of the breakfasts for a local cafe. Also receptionist wasn’t there after 6pm.
- Karen (8/5): - Lovely rooms, clean and comfy. Breakfast was very nice and great gluten free options. Couldn't open the window or turn radiator off so it was a bit stuffy but to be honest I didnt ask for help as it was late so it was probably me. I would just suggest checking that but otherwise very nice and would recommend.
- Graham (9/5): -
- Tim (10/5): - Friendly, knowledgeable staff
- Michael (8/5): Excellent room & staff but disappointing breakfast - Excellent spacious room with large comfortable bed and very good shower.
Excellent customer service with friendly & supportive staff. Good menu. Disappointing standard breakfast with limited selection of cereals. Granola unusable as rock solid! Coffee stewed and not appearing to be freshly made. Limited choice of milk.
- Heather Reid (9/5): - Always a good stay. Clean, comfortable, classy, good food.

- Barbara (7/5): Pleasant one night stay however we did feel it was overpriced. - Good breakfast, pleasant room with good view, quiet location. Nothing, it was all good. However the room was very cold when we arrived, we thought the window was open but it wasn't. We did manage to turn the radiator on.

- Sharon Ethers (10/5): A must stay for a truly wonderful experience - Everything about this place is outstanding. From the minute you walk in, the staff make you feel like you're the only guests. They're happy, jovial and lift your mood, they're infectious. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautifully decorated and luxurious. The food is chefs kiss tasty and superb quality ingredients and produce. Our second visit and we will definitely be back for our third, fourth and fifth. Great experience and the staff are an absolute credit to this place.
- Lyn (8/5): - Location Too many people!
- Angela Matthews (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Dominic (9/5): Very relaxing and comfortable overnight stay. - Set in a beautiful countryside location, the hotel has plenty of good parking but is within easy walking distance of the village. The room was very clean, and quiet. The old oak beams and decor really kept to the character of the place. The room had all of the facilities that you would expect in a hotel. The curtains in my room were full blackout curtains, so if light keeps you awake this room is perfect. Nothing.

- Scott (10/5): -
- Joyce (7/5): Comfortable stay but could be better - Quirky characterful inn. Room smaller than expected but comfortable and biscuits provided which is rare these days and speciality teas provided. Large curved step up to bathroom in room which is a bit of a trip hazard, especially when up through the night to go to bathroom. as step right beside bed. Would request a different room if staying again, one that doesn't have a step to bathroom.
Plate of half eaten risotto left outside one guest's room from early evening till next morning.
Breakfast service slow but breakfast cooked to order, which is good. Poor continental selection, no natural yoghurt, and no cereal available that morning for all guests as one guest staying had airborne nut allergy. Felt this could have been handled better, Could that guest have been served breakfast in their room rather than refuse to serve cereal to all the other guests?
- Claire (10/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - Lovely room and nice breakfast
- John (4/5): For the price, £135, this was very disappointing - Staff at reception, the bar, at our function, and at breakfast were all lovely, giving very good service.
The breakfast was very good Bedroom: Gloomy, tired, old fashioned decor and furnishings. Two over-large armchairs when really only room for one. No surface at which one could sit and write. Hoteliers surely know that nowadays people might want to do some written work, even if only a couple of emails. A large and comfortable bed . Lighting in bedroom terrible. One central light and two very weak bedside lights don’t provide sufficient light to read. Good bathroom with walk-in shower and stand alone bath. Room very cold, with no heating provided. The night-time temperature outside was around 8 degrees. I turned both radiators on, but no heat forthcoming. I had a very cold night

- ann (9/5): - Staff are lovely, really helpful Room was far too warm
- Hilary (8/5): - Atmosphere, friendly, well known
- Martin (10/5): -
- Nick (9/5): - Nic place and great staff
- FionaC (1/5): Don't bother - shame! Did not meet my expectations! - The property is a beautiful stone farm house set of buildings across a large site. It sits facing an old village/country church and is surrounded by stunning Saddleworth views. General - I asked for a spacious quiet out of the way room as I know this venue can be busy especially at this time of year (June 2025) with proms. The purpose of my stay was to complete my final PHD assessments so needed space, peace and quiet - I was assured of this at time of booking and follow up phone calls. I was given a room overlooking the main car park to the venue which was very noisy in the evening with taxis and drunk revelers especially on the second night!
Room - curtains, chair, wall, sills and bath dirty. Toiletries not as advertised and half empty alternatives supplied in shower area only. Noisy people (screaming and shouting) placed next door to me - couldn't get any sleep, considered going home in the middle of the night! Pre-booked tables
Restaurant - first night - raw pork served, limited menu (four main meals), expensive for quality of ingredients. After raw pork discovery did not want dessert - put off! The young chap that welcomed and seated me was pleasant and accommodating.
Second night - rude restaurant/bar manager (older chap) placed me in the middle of a room (that I did not request) and told that my 'quiet table' from night before was not available despite me checking the area and seeing at least four available tables, clearly he (the manager) did not want to clean these! I moved myself to this area and easily found a suitable table but the manager kept on insisting that they were busy/reserved in this area ( I had reserved both nights). I felt that this chap was rude, not caring for my dining and staying alone in their venue and did not cater for my needs placing other diners above me! I ordered a starter only, wine but when I asked about a gin - the same chap was hesitant to inform me about their gin menu! Absolutely no care or attention given to me at all during my stay especially by this gentleman.
I DID report to the venue recently and have received no response whatsoever!
