• Anne (9/5): Another excellent stay at this lovely hotel. We will be coming back - Room very clean and comfortable - good size. Amazing property - been five times. Staff very friendly. Breakfast choice very good but "hot" items ie bacon, sausage, eggs cold - need to purchase an electric warmer to keep items hot. We are early breakfasters so coldness not because we are late down!
• Natalia (9/5): Great location and perfect parking. Good size room and we had a lounge and kitchenette on the top (3rd) floor. No lift b - Location was amazing and the free parking was a bonus too. We had top floor room with balcony and kitchenette. WiFi was poor to non existent. Reception didn’t seem to be manned all the time. AC could have been better or maybe we didn’t know how to work it properly

• MARGARET (8/5): We enjoyed Rethymno and the location of the hotel. - The continental breakfast was ok, but just ok. The location was excellent, just 5 minutes walk to the centre of the old town with a good selection of bars and restaurants, and a few hundred yards to the seafront. The hotel has their own car park just over the road and there are always plenty of parking spaces. I would have preferred a room on one level, but it was what we chose when we booked. A wall light in the lounge didn’t work and in the bathroom we couldn’t change the shower in order to run a bath as the knob you pull up on the shower unit came away in your hand.

• Dirk (8/5): - Die Unterkunft ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Altes Bad mit dusche in der Badewanne. Etwas dunkel. Rezeption nur sehr selten besetzt. Frühstück war überschaubar aber ok. Nur Filterkaffee oder Kapselmaschine. Das schlechteste waren die fast gar nucht schalldedämmten Fenster zur Strasse hin. Die vorbeifahrenden Fahrzeuge (über Kopfsteinpflaster) konnte man bis spät in den abend hinein hören. Sehr gut der eigene mit Schranke abgesperrte Parkplatz (kostenfrei). Die lage war auch sehr gut. Sehr nah zur Altstadt und zum Hafen hin.

Haben es nicht mal mit uns angeschaut Zudem ist die Rezeption sehr selten besetzt. Hat man eine Frage oder Problem muss man auf eigene Kosten jemand von der Rezeption anrufen. Für ein 4 Sterne Hotel stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis leider überhaupt nicht

• stéphanie (9/5): Parfait decor pour un séjour dans la ville magnifique de Rethymnon - Très bel hôtel, dans la vieille ville accessible à pied. Le parking juste en face, tellement pratique à Rethymnon en été. La vue de la terrasse, aménagée avec des transats. Et le petit plus ,la piscine juste ce qu'il faut pour se rafraîchir, dans la cour intérieure, magnifique. La suite junior très confortable. Juste le manque d'une cafetière, il n'y avait que la petite "zazoua" pour le café grec.

• Brian (7/5): Et hyggeligt hotel med fin lille gårdhave og lå i udkanten af den gamle by. - Der var parkeringsplads over for hotellet. Vores værelse og køkken var stort. Mulighed for at sidde i gården, da vores værelse ikke havde altan. Beliggenheden var god. Badeværelset trængte til en renovering. Manglende køkkenredskaber. Kun 1 aircondition som slet ikke kunne køle lejligheden ned. (Vi var her i august).

• Anna (6/5): In general the say was okay. But in such a big competition in hotel servise - these kind of moments may be strong advant - Bis space room, good location and big parking. Fridge and airco deactivate together with taking out id the room card - food spoils, after the heat you come in very hoot hotel and need to wait around 40 min when the temperature will become comfortable. When you come on breakfast at 9am - a lot of foodstuff are finished already - you need to look for help to get aggs, milk, cheese. We left the hotel at 6:30. Day before with spoke with lady who worked on thw kitchen if its possible to have some breakfast box or so, we got the answer that at this time she will be already on the kitchen and will prepare for us some boiled egss, cheese, vegetables - when we were leaving nobody was there and nothing was prepared for us.

• Elisa (9/5): Superb - The position is the strong point of the hotel, with a private parking: near the center of the old town, you don’t need to use the car to hang out, among the beautiful streets of Rethymno! The rooms were very clean and spacious, and not to mention the hotel's peaceful atmosphere — it was very quiet and far from the city's noise. The cherry on top was definitely the hotel staff, including the owner — always kind and attentive to every little need, ready to solve any issue and suggest great places to visit in the area. Thumbs up for the breakfast! The shower curtain, but not really matters!

The hairdryer was out of the 80’s! I asked if there was a hairdryer before i left the Uk ( trying to save on packing) and was told i could borrow a ‘proper one’ from reception. When it came to it, a very unhelpful gentleman told me they didn’t have one, there is one in the room. The hairdryer had just one heat setting - red hot! The part which was held got red hot too and burnt my hands,just not suitable when hair has to be styled rather than just dried. Desperately needs bringing into the 21st century! Nowhere did it tell us how much breakfast was, neither on the website or in the hotel/room. There was a charge at the end of our stay, 10 euros each. If it is chargeable then the staff should be a bit more forthcoming to top up the yoghurt/omelette etc once they have run out. Amazingly the card machine was ‘broke’ when we checked out. Everywhere was asking for cash when we paid but this hotel decided to lie and tell us the card machine was broken. We would prefer the truth!

• Phil (7/5): There are better options - Excellent location for the old town. Parking. Manager worked hard to try and resolve the problems we had. Starting to show is age in its design. Air conditioning did not work well or at all in a couple of rooms we tried. Shower over the bath quite old style. Split floor maisonettes didn’t work well for me. Steep stairs between floors and bed on top floor with bathroom beneath just didn’t work. Heat rises so bedroom is hottest part. Breakfast could be better - always seemed sparse.

• Joanne (8/5): Can’t beat the location and having parking! - Free parking!!! This alone makes it great!! Location. Perfect spot to walk everywhere. There was a kitchenette but no dish soap or cloth or sponge. We thought maybe the maid did dishes. Nope. Used body wash and facecloth. Very limited cooking utensils. We had a flood everytime we showered but they seemed intent on trying to fix it. We worked around it. Small and basic but the parking and location made it worth it.
• MARIE-HELENE (10/5): - Personnel très sympathique et à l’écoute, de plus on y parle français. Nous avions la chambre « Suite » très confortable et spacieuse avec un coin cuisine et salon. L’hôtel est très proche de la ville, ce qui est appréciable. Le petit déjeuner est diversifié et peut se prendre à l’extérieur. Il y’a un parking face à l’hôtel, on vous remet un bip pou aller et venir. Pour nous, c’est un hôtel à recommander sans hésitation

• Denis (10/5): Fantasdtic place. - Great place in the old town. Great atmosphere. The private parking was beneficial. I believe a fountain would be more appropriate in the 15th-century Venetian palace instead of a swimming pool (nobody used it during the night when I stayed).

• Stephanie (10/5): Lovely hotel in great location. - Beautiful building and conversion into rooms, so close to old town and parking! The rooms were spacious and beautifully furnished. Bed extremely comfortable. Buffet breakfast varied and delicious. Nothing to dislike
• Neil (9/5): Superb - Location of this beautiful hotel was perfect, just on the edge of the old town. It was our third stay here, so we obviously like the place. The staff, as always, were wonderful and the free hotel parking is a great bonus if, like us, you’re touring in a car.
• Donna (4/5): - Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was lovely. However, the room floor was dirty and not swept prior to arrival. Window was left open prior to arrival and we had numerous flying bugs in the room. Given it is an old property the amenities, specifically in the bathroom, were lacking. High step in tub, narrow and difficult to shower in. I regret not being able to recommend this hotel.
• Jacqueline (10/5): - The hotel is located on the edge of old town, by the bay and next to the Venetian Fortress. It has a convenient parking onsite which is a big plus for a hotel located in old town Rethymno. The room is clean and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The location is ideal for exploring old town and surrounding area. Rethymno Beach is on 15 minutes walk away. Dining options in old town is endless.

• Richard (8/5): Well positioned hotel - Hotel in a lovely position right near the castle and old town, great for exploring and loads of restaurants nearby. The "suite" was a little underwhelming - just a small extra room with a mini-kitchen, table and single bed all wedged in. Breakfast had a good variety and the public areas were clean and quiet, but could have done with something to give some shade for the roof terrace.

• Randall (7/5): Pretty good, but maybe could be better - Well-placed on the edge of the city. Small hotel, but nice big room. A bit pricey. Staff fine, but should have been someone to help with cases from the car park. E.G: the large security man, who seemed under-employed. No help with cases. Chairs on the balcony were ancient.

The front desk staff was very friendly, and provided coffee supplies as we had to leave early for the Heraklion airport the next morning before breakfast opened. In the morning, we were locked in the hotel as the main door near checkin was locked. We finally found a way out through the courtyard!

• E (10/5): Lovely stay near the fortress - Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. We felt very welcome. The hotel was rather calm when we were there so we had the pool to ourselves. We rested on the sun beds and enjoyed the sunset from there. Very good breakfast, every day a little different. Nice location, close to the city center and not noisy at all. /

• Alison (8/5): Fantastic property if things are fixed - Situated below the Venetian Fort and in Old Town Rethymnon. Quirky property with lovely central courtyard, which our room and balcony overlooked. We had a generous sized junior suite, with a seating area, large double bed, bathroom and small kitchen area with fridge. Lots of restaurants and shops within short walking distance. A space in the car park opposite the apartments can be reserved when booking. Staff were helpful The fridge was very old and looked unclean. It needs replacing as isnt up to the standard of the rest of the room/building. We mentioned that the air-con was not working properly (the room was very hot and stuffy) A staff member came to look and tried to reset everything, told us it was ok, but it still didn’t work. It was very uncomfortable in the room, but as we were only staying for one night we didn’t want to waste more time trying to get it sorted. We had to open the windows in the night which was not ideal.

It would have been nice to have had tea and coffee in the room as a kettle was supplied. Perhaps some in-room information would have been helpful so we’d know what services were offered. Excellent location and free of charge parking. Close to the Old Town. Good breakfast. Everything was fine, so there is no need to single out some small things that did not diminish the overall excellent impression.

Good parking facilities. Purchase of electric warmer for bacon, sausages etc would be beneficial - nightlights do not keep items very warm
• White (8/5): Very nice, clean accommodation in a quiet location convenient for restaurants, bars and the tourist sights. Obliging, po - Superb location close to the fortress and with easy access to the old town. The free private parking is a massive advantage. The staff were delightful and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was nice although not as extensive as some hotels. Our room (a junior suite) was spacious and comfortable. Balcony was nice to have but tiny. We would definitely go there again. To say the junior suite has a kitchenette is stretching it a bit. No microwave or oven, just a two ring hob, kettle and coffee machine. Nice big fridge, though. We were only there two nights so it didn’t really matter, but if you were there for longer and fancied cooking for yourselves one night you couldn’t do much more than pasta. The bathroom all worked and there was lots of hot water, but it was old fashioned and really needed updating. For instance still an old plastic shower curtain, not a screen, and the hairdryer was barely adequate with no heat control or speed control.
• Gabor (9/5): Nice - All good, great parking, nice staff, good bed, good location. Furniture outdated, Caffe maker is in the room, but take extra effort to chase down caffe from the reception. No tea, no caffe... Breakfast was late (at 8 o'clock not much was offered, waited until 8:20)
• Cynthia (10/5): - Adonis was a gracious host, and we especially enjoyed talkig with Nikki, who was part of the staff. Our apartment was spacious, and had a nice balcony with a nice city view that also looked out on the Fortezza. Adonis oriented us to the neighborhood with suggestions and a map. We had kitchen facilities that were very convenient and our bed and air conditioning made our sleep very comfortable. We were even able to easily extend our stay on short notice. We definitely recommend Palazzo Vecchio!
• Neil (10/5): Perfect location of a beautiful apartment. - The location of the hotel is wonderful for the old town, staff were superb, giving advice and recommendations. Absolutely huge bonus is that the hotel comes with free parking, essential if like us you hire a car to travel the island. You needed to be up very early to make the most of the breakfast, otherwise what was available was a little hit and Miss.

• Favorito (8/5): Very good - Excellent location. Parking included which is a bonus. Friendly and attentive staff. Room was clean and fine. The place is cosy and functional. Good breakfast. Easy access to the old town and restaurants in 5 minutes walk. Not noisy at all. The breakfast area is on the small side. The room decor could do with a small modernisation. The small kitchenette and sink in the corner seem out of place, as is the bathtub with curtains.
• Barrie (10/5): - We stayed for a week and were made very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable and the air-conditioning efficient, keeping the room cool. Staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Nikki who always made us feel that all guests are important and special.

• Christopher (9/5): Great - it exceeded our expectations. - Delightful, welcoming staff but the best thing was the large private car park which is pretty essential in a town like Rethymno. We have nothing negative to say about this hotel. All was good.
• Katharine (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing, and gracious. - We loved its position with a view of the Fort and ability to walk into the old harbour and old town. The car park was a boon as parking is very difficult within old Rethymno  There was a dinky pool in which to cool off after exploring on foot or further afield. The bed was extremely comfortable and having Aircon in the bedroom area was very necessary. Lack of parasols on the roof terrace, but that is due to a civic law, so not the Hotel’s fault

She could not do enough for us. Her recommendations, tips and advice were amazing. The location is wonderful and very close to the old town, port restaurants, bars & transport. Everything is in walking distance. We loved everything.

• Mark (8/5): Good for a short stay - Good location on the edge of the old town. Free parking in hotel's own carpark across the street. Characterful old building. Room opened onto a pleasant courtyard. Staff very helpful. Ok for one night but would have been cramped for a longer stay. Nowhere comfortable to sit indoors as the sofa bed was made up.

We had a large suite with very nice furniture and breakfast was very good. Special thanks to the owner of the hotel who was very nice and always made sure to make our stay as comfortable as possible. • Stephen (9/5): A very pleasant and comfortable stay. - There was a really nice, friendly reception from the staff. The hotel is in a very convenient location for the town with parking that is a real bonus given the location. The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space in the rooms and the courtyard was very pleasant. There was not much to fault.
