Les insectes/moustiques mais ça malheureusement l’hôtel n’y peux pas grand chose. La moustiquaire sent le renfermé et devrait être lavée plus souvent. Gros point négatif sur l’heure du petit déjeuner. Le plus tôt possible est 7h30, ce qui a vite tendance à être problématique lorsqu’on souhaite faire des activités tôt le matin. À noter que sur 4 petits déjeuners, 2 ont été ramenés avec 15min de retard

It is about 30 mins drive from central Ubud, but they do provide a shuttle in the afternoon and evening. Also everything is outdoors and in the middle of a rice field, so something to note re: mosquitoes. However they provided mosquito spray, mosquito nets around the bed, and the AC was very cold, so they did everything to minimize chances of getting bitten. Indonesian breakfast (noodles) was a bit bland.

- Jessy (9/5): Great Villa - I stayed here 1.5 years ago and came back. I enjoy how the property feels and that you can walk to some shops and coffee, yet are in a local village with some hotels. Love all the dogs when I would walked, met the owners dog and brother on a walk and he showed me the sister villa which was cool and I would change it up and stay there next time at Rumah Kayu since I have been here twice now. Had a wonderful massage, the staff are all wonderful and very helpful. The villas are beautiful and a true retreat, breakfast included in the morning was great and I like their food. The food wasn’t as good this year 2026 as it was in 2024, but still good.

What truly made the experience special was the staff — incredibly kind, always smiling, and consistently going above and beyond to help. Their warmth made us feel welcome every single day. The location is ideal: close enough to Ubud centre (just a 15-minute drive), yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. The hotel offers three complimentary shuttles per day, which was so convenient that we didn’t have to spend anything on transport during our stay. The food was another highlight — delicious, generous portions, and always fresh. Breakfast was included and offered a wide variety of options, all well prepared. Room service was excellent as well, making it easy to enjoy great meals in total comfort. We stayed in a villa with a private pool, and it was perfect for relaxing. Having our own space and privacy made it easy to truly unwind and rest. The hotel also has a spa with massage services. While slightly more expensive than options in Ubud, it’s absolutely worth it for the convenience of not having to leave the hotel — especially when you’re in full relaxation mode. Overall, an incredible stay. Everything exceeded expectations, and we would definitely come back without hesitation. 🌺

- Ally (5/5): Reasonable accomodation but very basic - The surroundings were nice, and the food was good. The room was a bit grotty, the bathroom had a stale smell and was not the cleanest. The walls also were not soundproof at all and we could hear voices from next door all night, as well as sounds from outside. We also woke up at about 10pm after a long day to loud banging on our door. We weren’t sure if this was staff or other guests but did not make the stay feel safe and pleasant. Also hired a scooter for the day, but it was given to us on an empty tank so we had to fill it up ourselves right away. This felt like a courtesy to have at least a reasonable amount of fuel when handed over.

- Olga (5/5): Не стоит этих денег - Мы пожили и в Вилла и в номере. Вилла удобная, бассей чистят, бельё хорошее. Номер в отеле маленький, без балкона, крошечный дворик и бассей в бетонную стену. Прямо реально поблизости НИЧЕГО. Рядом деревня с лавочками, в отеле всё достаточно дорого. Массаж везде 100т в отеле 300т. Еда вкусная, завтраки хорошие по предзаказу. Второй раз бы не поехала. Это прямо очень далеко от всего, даже погулять негде.

- Agathe (10/5): Nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps - Nous avons eu un superbe accueil, nous avons eu toutes les informations nécessaires pour notre séjour à notre arrivée. Notamment pour les locations de scooters, services de taxis, les menus de petits déjeuner (très copieux) etc. Les lieux étaient magnifiques, autant les espaces communs que notre villa. Le personnel nous avait préparé une décoration d'anniversaire merveilleuse (sur demande), la villa était très propre et nous bénéficions d'un service par jour. La literie était extrêmement confortable, nous avions également des pantoufles ainsi que des peignoirs. Rien a redire, tout était parfait, nous avons adoré notre séjour à Villa Kayu Lama !

Il driver è stato molto disponibile ad aiutarci anche a prendere i biglietti del traghetto una volta arrivati al porto, assicurandosi che fossimo al sicuro Abbiamo apprezzato il box colazione, ma prezzo un po’ alto per questo servizio. 7 euro per singolo box colazione direi molto esagerato..
