Possibly ownership has changed, and the rooms have been modernized. It was clean, comfortable and so easy to access. It would be nice to have a nightstand on both sides of the bed, so many things to plug in and charge these days, and to keep a drink close by.
• Randal (7/5): It was fine , something to consider if you’re stay is during the week many of the restaurants and places are closed. - Single level , comfy room , easy access , good place to eat across the street. The AC/heater unit is directly above the bed and blows on you, might think about rearranging the room layout. For two mornings there was an entire construction crew occupying multiple rooms. Very noisy at night and way too early in the morning , can’t really blame the place business is business.

They provided enough toiletries and we didnt need to ask for anything. They had a large lot my kids could play in and we enjoyed the stay. The price was a bit steep but my family was happy and enjoyed their stay here. One thing I didnt like was no microwave in the room to warm stuff up but you are surrounded by resteraunts and cafes
• John (5/5): If you need a place to stay just to sleep with no frills, no internet, it may do for a night. - The property was decent, but a bit rundown and older. It was a bit secluded. The property was a bit rundown and needed paint, especially the fascia boards. There was a pool area that once had a pool, but was covered with dirt and rocks and no longer there, but it still had facilities and signage that showed where a pool once stood. Some of the signage and information in the office was outdated on the property. It was very low frills. The Wi-Fi did not work in our room and was very weak, so unusable. I had to use a hotspot. The room was okay, but nothing great. It was overpriced considering what we got, imo. I had sent a message over booking, but no one responded to my original request. There was no one in the office when we arrived, and we had to arrange for someone to show up. The number listed did not pick up when we called to check in. Had to wait for a while before checking in. It could be a bit smoother experience.

THE BATHROOM SINK HAD NO HOT WATER. i LET IT RUN FOR A COUPLE MINUTES AND NEVER GOT HOT. i ASSUMED THE SHOWER DIDN'T GET HOT EITHER SO MY SPOUSE NOR I GOT TO SHOWER. KIND OF A BUMMER.

It was lower up at the headboard area, sunk down, so you're sleeping with your feet higher than your head and body. NOT good. Needs a new bed for sure, so slwwpwas really bad sadly. And the door, OMG you almost get stuck in. Needs to be fixed so kt doesn't stick so badly asap. And half the bulbs are out in the room too..very dark.5

Our dog barked at every sound outside,so less noise from outside would be better but I totally understand that it is what it is.

Initially had a little trouble with door since it was a little stuck due to weather--called the number and a staff member came quickly over to assist. Property was very quiet and water temperature & pressure was nice. Great assortment of coffees and teas to use with the Keurig machine.

• April (7/5): Charming farmhouse has potential! - The location and view from the upstairs room is excellent. Beautiful morning walk up the side road was amazing. The size of the upstairs unit is very spacious for 4 sleepers and our small dog. Kitchenette was a plus. The top upstairs farmhouse has definitely lost its luster and needs some serious upgrades. Felt like just a bunch a furniture thrown in there not cozy at all. The sofa couch is very old and small and cannot accommodate two persons. My 14 and 11 year old hardly fit. Underneath sofa bed mattress looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. I would suggest a tv in the bedroom to utilize space. The carpet and paint need a refresh. Overall the whole unit just needs to be revamped with a charming touch.

Parking right in front of room. Only negative was having a queen size bed that wasn't very comfortable. Room is large enough for a comfortable king size bed - this would have made a huge difference. Will stay again however, opt for 2 doubles instead of queen room.

WiFi also needs to be better. Otherwise rooms are updated and staff via phone is friendly. Rooms available on time and can walk to the bakery, Heroes restaurant and the Wynola Farm / Pumpkin Patch.

• Sarah (6/5): - The property was fine for location, price and cleanliness. The check in is a bit awkward as the manager didn't respond to my text, so I had to call. Then when she gave me a code to unlock the door, it turned out she neglected to tell me you have to push another button even though I asked if you needed to do anything besides numbers like a # sign. Fortunately another guest showed me how to get in the room using the key pad. There was a symbol besides the four numbers. He said he's been at that room befoer and the door keypad was a little difficult.

I knocked off some points because the floors in our room were dirty and the shower water was rusty even after running the water for a long time.

The chairs and tables behind the inn were very dirty, with bird poop on the back of the chairs, everything was very dusty. We could not sit and relax as we wanted to do.

• becky (10/5): - The hotel room was very nice. However, we couldn't get anybody at the front desk to help us with anything.It was all via text and a phone call. And it was a little on the expensive side for what was provided.
• Nicolas (9/5): It was comfortable and nice and cozy. - The bed was comfortable. The hot water took a while to come out when taking a shower at night.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - Asked for ice and received it 4.5 hours later, floor boards move and pinch your feet, towels were thin, snagged and old. Zero artwork on walls and remote control didn’t control the volume of the TV. The shower took 15 minutes to get hot water when water is scarce. Just very low effort to make it nice.
• Jill (8/5): - This property has a very late 4pm check in. If you need to check in earlier it costs an extra $40. There was no plug in near the vanity. The couple who helped us check in and answered our questions were very nice and professional. We will recommend.

• Cynthia (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised about Apple Tree Inn! We were staying in Julian for 2 nights, and we had a good time! The place was clean with a great rustic feel (no bugs either! We thought we would have to fight critters due to the area). It is right next and across the street from some restaurants so you have easy access to food, and staff were attentive (through messaging) if we ever stay again, we will definitely look into staying here again

• Grace (8/5): - Great location and the rooms were very clean. The rooms looked like they had been recently updated. The grounds were not very well maintained. They obviously took out the pool and left the pump house behind and even the skimmer. There was a wrought iron gate just laying on the ground with an orange cone on it. I think this property has a lot of potential but it needs some TLC!

• John (2/5): - We booked a room for Thursday, May 22, 2025. When we arrived in Julian shortly after 1 PM, we called the hotel to see if we could check in a little early. We were told that if we wanted to check in early, we would be charged a $40 fee. we declined. We were offered, however, a little earlier of a check in, like 2:30, without being charged a fee. When we arrived, there was absolutely no one at the hotel. No other rooms were occupied, and there was no staff. The office was closed. It looked abandoned. We were given instructions to use a code to enter the room. When we got into the room we noticed the shower appeared dirty, along with dried soap drippings from a dispenser above the tub. The bathroom was generally in bad shape. We called the hotel contact number (because no staff was there) to request another room. We spoke to the same lady we had talked to earlier - apparently everything is handled remotely - and received a code for another room. The second one was in better shape. After settling in, we walked around and noticed the general disrepair of the place. Overgrown landscape and haphazard outdoor furniture and tired bbq. The pool had been filled in. The grounds were not what the pictures showed. After coming back from town and dinner, we noticed we were still the only ones there. The one other tenant was no longer there. After dark, we saw a car pull in and then leave. At this point, my wife was no longer comfortable staying the night and we found another place in town.

• Ashley (10/5): - I went for my birthday this past weekend and it was perfect! We will definitely be coming back and will stay here everytime!
• MICHAEL (10/5): - I called the desk because the water wasn't warm enough to take a shower and was informed that if I give it 8-10 minutes it would get hot. Seemed odd but the water did in fact get plenty hot eventually! Room was clean and you don't talk to anyone to check in or out.
• Amy (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, somewhat over-priced rooms in a beautiful quiet area. When walking nearby I saw deer in the grass and shared the road with a flock of wild turkeys.

• 60lo (10/5): Excellent Overnight Stay - The rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, clean bathroom, great location, and amenities were complete. Even with our room near the highway, it didn’t really bother our sleep. Our overnight stay was excellent and I would definitely recommend Apple Inn.
