• Cristian (6/5): - It falls below expectation in terms of the experience you would expect from the place. 1. Is a nice place but not wow. 2. Staff seem under paid and even though friendly the interactions could get a bit uncomfortable. 2. There is a set menu for dinner but they don't know how to cater for vegetarians even if you inform them in advance and get confirmation that they will accommodate. We stayed 2 night with 2 disappointing dinner experience. We ended up eating a larger side dish of the main me
• Matthias (10/5): Eine unsere schönsten Unterkünfte in Namibia - Wunderschöne, moderne und sehr saubere Unterkunft. Schöner, großer Pool, gepflegter Garten, sehr gutes Frühstück. Wir haben es sehr genossen - auch die angebotene kostenlose Fußmassage. Frühstück war sehr gut, das 5-Gang-Abendessen wurde serviert, das fanden wir auch schön und es war auch gut. Nachmittags gab’s zusätzlich Kaffee und Kuchen. Da blieben keine Wünsche offen. Wir empfehlen einen Aufenthalt von mindestens 2 Nächten.

• Deborah (8/5): - Mooie lodge, goede locatie ten opzichte van Estosha. Zwembad, lounge en buitenruimte zijn fantastisch. Kamers zijn goed maar wat mindere kwaliteit dan de gemeenschappelijke ruimtes.
• Friedrich W (6/5): More pretense than reality - The rooms were clean, albeit bare. It all seemed a bit bleak and we didn't really feel comfortable. However, even if it is nice for decoration, they have streams of water everywhere, which means there are a lot of mosquitoes there. Overall, it was very cold in the main house at dinner and breakfast, so the food got cold quickly. The food itself was ok but nothing special. The staff made an effort. What we didn't like was that the prices of the activities were different to the prices quoted afterwards.
• Sien (8/5): - Fijne ontvangst met een koffie en een stukje cake. Heel mooie zithoek en uitzicht op het terras aan een waterpoel. Het ontbijt en avondmaal waren zeker en vast inorde en erg verzorgd. Onze kamer was ook inorde. ‘S avonds kwamen ze de kaarsjes aansteken terwijl we aten. Heel gezellig bij het terugkomen! We deden 1 game drive via hen en waren echt heel tevreden ☺️👌

• Andreas (10/5): Base lodge für etosha - Traumhaft mit eigenem Game Bestand von einer Plattform neben dem Pool zu beobachten. Essen und Service perfekt. Optimal als Einstieg nach etosha. Emanya bietet mehrere Optionen für gamedrives mit deren Fahrzeugen, durchgeführt von sehr kompetenten guides. Absolut empfehlenswert. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist der fehlende Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Wenn man eine Rundreise mit eigenem Auto macht wäre das hilfreich.
• Sabine (10/5): - Wir waren begeistert von der Lodge. Es ist super schön in den Zimmern. Sehr ruhig und überschaubar durch die wenigen Zimmer. Der Service war auch sehr gut. Die Leute alle freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Eine klare Empfehlung von uns sich hier eine Auszeit zu gönnen.

• Axel (8/5): - Die Unterkunft ist sehr luxuriös und modern, mit einem sehr großzügigen Pool und einem schönen, offenen Restaurantbereich. Das Dinner war überdurchschnittlich gut und mit jeweils fünf Gängen (Hauptgang aus täglich zwei Angeboten wählbar) auch sehr reichhaltig. Das Zimmer selbst ist zwar groß, vor allem das Bad, wirkt gegenüber der übrigen Anlage aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das W-LAN im Zimmer war leider schlecht.

• Anja Eva (10/5): - Außergewöhnlich! Das Emany @ Etosha war auf unserer Namibiarundreise mit eine der luxuriösesten und schönsten Unterkünfte! Wir hatten das Glück, dass insgesamt nur drei Zimmer belegt waren und konnten die Ruhe in vollen Zügen genießen. Das wunderschöne Ambiente und die Tischarrangements für das Abendessen ließen keine Wünsche offen. Nach vielen traditionell afrikanisch anmutenden Lodges, ist das Emanya @ Etosha ein architektonisches Highlight im modernen Betonstil mit sehr geschmackvoller und ausgewählter Einrichtung. Das Abendessen mit 5 Gängen war hervorragend, der Service von Rino exzellent. Die hochgelegte Terrasse bietet sich hervorragend zum Ausklang des Abends mit Aussicht an. Leider hatten wir nur für eine Nacht gebucht, beim nächsten Mal bleiben wir definitiv länger. Eine absolute Empfehlung als Ausgangspunkt für den Etosha Nationalpark. Nochmal ein herzliches und riesiges Dankeschön an alle Mitarbeiter.
• FLORENT (10/5): Luxe et simplicité - Top top top ! Lieu magnifique, personnel aussi petits soins. Les repas sont très bons. La présence des animaux devant la piscine est magique. La chambre est très bien équipée et les literie excellente. En gros, on conseille vivement cet établissement.
• Bernd (2/5): - Im Vorjahr war ich von der Lodge vollauf begeistert - ein Grund auch in diesem Jahr dort für zwei Nächte Rast zu machen. Leider hat die Lodge in allen Punkten deutlich nachgelassen - sowohl baulich als auch beim Essen. Das größten Probleme waren der Pool, der leider völlig verdreckt und von schwarzen Algen überwuchert war und die Chefin. Entsprechende Fotos (vom Pool) können gerne angesehen werden. Der Tiefpunkt allerdings war, dass die (nach eigenen Angaben) Besitzerin meinem 10-jährigen Enkel gesagt hat, er könne völlig unbedenklich in diesen offensichtlich völlig verdreckten Pool gehen. Ein Verhalten, was absolut unzumutbar und für die Gäste höchstwahrscheinlich erheblich gesundheitsgefährdend ist. Nach mehrfachen Besuchen in Namibia weiß ich sehr gut, dass man manchmal mit kleinen Unzulänglichkeiten leben muss. Wäre der Pool gesperrt gewesen (technischer Defekt), hätte ich das ziemlich klaglos hingenommen. Vielleicht hätte sich in einer benachbarten Lodge eine Möglichkeit ergeben? Aber ein Kind aufzufordern, in einen solchen Pool zu gehen, ist eine absolut nicht verzeibare Reaktion. Da fragt man sich, wie sonst mit dem Wohl der Gäste umgegangen wird. Übrigens war keiner der Gäste der Lodge in diesem Pool! Statt einer Entschuldigung ob des Zustands und noch mehr betreffs des indiskutablen Verhaltens der Chefin, wurden wir von dieser dann auch noch beschimpft. Das sehr freundliche einheimische Personal ist lobend zu erwähnen. Leider, Emanya@Etosha Lodge - NIE wieder!
• Valentine (8/5): Hôtel très joli mais pas exceptionnel - L’établissement est très joli, les chambres belles et spacieuses et tout est très soigné. Le personnel est également très sympathique. Le point d’eau éclairé la nuit avec les divers animaux qui viennent s’y promener est magique ! Cependant nous avons été déçus de la piscine dans laquelle il est impossible de se baigner vu l’état de l’eau. Le repas du soir est également très décevant, en tant que touristes nous préférons goûter les spécialités locales plutôt que d’avoir un faux “menu 5 plats”.

• Thierry (10/5): Magnifique séjour - Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans ce lodge magnifique, situé à 20 minutes en voiture de l'entrée est du parc d'Etosha. La chambre et la salle de bains étaient propres et au calme. La piscine est splendide mais nous ne nous sommes pas baignés car en juillet ( en hiver en Namibie ) , l'eau était froide. Sur une terrasse, on peut observer des animaux qui viennent boire au point d'eau. L'espace restauration est calme ( les tables sont bien éloignées les unes des autres et permettent de manger tranquillement ). Le repas du soir était copieux et très bon. Le petit déjeuner était servi sous forme de buffet. Tous les membres du personnel se sont montrés extrêmement serviables et très accueillants. Nous avons énormément apprécié notre séjour dans de lieu incroyable !
• Werner (6/5): - auf unserer gesamten Rundreise haben wir uns hier am unwohlsten gefühlt, das Emanya hat irgendwo ein sehr modernes Outfit, aber es wirkt leider sehr kühl. am aller wenigsten hat uns das Abendessen gefallen. es wird leider nur ein 5-Gänge-Menü angeboten. es war von der Qualität und Quantität nicht im Verhältnis zum Preis.

Allerdings ist der Pool, das Herzstück der Anlage total verdreckt und man kann oder möchte nicht ins Wasser gehen. Das fanden wir extrem schade, da ich das Hotel aus diesem Grund gebucht habe.

• Jana (10/5): Sehr luxuriös - War auf unserer Namibiareise mit eines der luxurösesten Unterkünfte und natürlich auch teurer als die anderen.Wir genossen das schöne Ampiente mit vielen Tierbeobachtungen am eigenen Wasserloch.Sogar eine Fussmassage gab es. Nur zum Schlafen ist sie Unterkunft zu schade.Bitte genügend Zeit hier einplanen und einfach mal geniessen.
• Ishana (2/5): - Very disappointed after this stay - staff let mosquitoes in our room and didn’t have a mosquito net so me and my partner were bitten numerous times after never being bitten in our two week trip to Namibia. We were served pork that was burnt on the outside and extremely undercooked on the inside resulting in food poisoning the following day. After raising our concerns with staff, no effort was made to amend this. Other accommodation in Namibia requested we have short showers to conserve water while Emanya has unnecessarily green lawns due to inappropriate sprinkler usage. Proximity to Etosha is convenient though

• Franck (10/5): Agréable surprise - Bien que les clients se font rare en ce moment en Namibie (2 chambres réservées cette nuit là), la qualité de l'hôtel n'est pas pour autant dégradée. Accueil professionnel avec visite de l'établissement, gouter offert à partir de 15h, repas et breakfast de qualité. La chambre est spacieuse, avec une grande salle de bain avec douche à l'italienne immense, jardin agréable et verdoyant, lit préparé pour votre couché avec bougies allumées. Le chemin pour vous rendre au restaurant est balisé avec des lampes mises spécialement au sol. La décoration et l'architecture, volontairement minimaliste est très agréable.
• Annie (8/5): Goed voor 1 nacht, duur , slechte wifi . - Het is op t eerste gezicht mooi .Maar als je nog maar de trappen naar de lobby bekijkt zijn de lichtjes overal stuk . In de kamer GEEN wifi terwijl ze dat beloven .Toiletteries ook al ben je met 2 ..slechts 1 shampoo, 1 bodywash etc… Waterkoker op de kamer stuk . Ontbijt van 7-9 u om 8 U geen yoghurt meer. Als ge al 2 toasten opgegeten hebt en koffie komen ze nadien met een menu kaart af voor een eigerecht. Dit hotel is mooi van uitzicht toont meer een hotel in het Oosten . Is zeker niet goedkoop en de geleverde service kregen we meer in een B& B . Waar we de helft betaalde . Voor ons niet voor herhaling vatbaar . Dit was ons duurste hotel in Namibie . Zeker zijn prijs kwa service niet waard .
• Verified traveler (10/5): Definitely Resort like - Initially we were abit annoyed with the insects flying all over while dining. But we know its in the middle of a forest. The place itself is newly constructed and modern, however the maintenance seemed a bit lacking. However the staff is beyond amazing. Our server Elsa was so amaazing that she made sure she remembered even the drinks and allergies of our group of 5. We celebrated our anniversary there and they were beyond excited to make a celebration possible for us. Thank you so much for that. Chalet wasn’t my style but still because of their hospitality I came to love it. Everyone else in the group loved the place already. I would encourage everyone to book this place, they make it feel like home.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - Likes: The lodge has very decorative design and beautiful scenery. They even have a great watering hole that attracts zebras, giraffes, warthogs, and other animals. Dislikes: I did not like the windows on the bathroom doors that don't provide privacy, and the light shines into the bedroom and wakes the other person up. I also did not like the two gates you have to get out and open each time you enter or leave the property. There is also a set 4 course dinner menu each night, and if you don't like it, there aren't any other option around. We ended up eating snack food and drinking wine for dinner each night. And if you want to go on a guided game drive (safari), you have to book with another lodge because Emanya's truck is broken.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - The bathroom was not cleaned and the toiletries were not re-filled. The price/value is way to expensive. Diner was ok for the first night but not good the 2nd day. There is no supervision in the restaurant. Nobody came for breakfast so after 15min I checked with a waitress, then another 30min we had to wait for 2 scrambled eggs, they were forgotten it. No mosquito net in the room, neither a refrigerator. For this price you'll find better!
• Anke (8/5): Gute Lodge für Etoscha Park Besuch - Schön gelegene Anlage mit großzügigen Zimmern und riesigem Bad. Personal ist super freundlich, gutes Weinangebot, sehr gutes Essen.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Heel mooie gebouwen met een karakter dat je niet verwacht in Namibie. Een luxe diner maar helaas wordt alles snel achterelkaar geserveerd. Ze rekenen er niet op dat je op het eind een kop koffie wilt en dan krijg je alleen oploskoffie. S morgens is het koud in de ontbijtruimte en dat is jammer, want het ontbijt is goed. De kamers zijn groot en veel badkamer ruimte. Het moet luxe uitstralen en doet het voor een groot deel ook, slordig dat de kabels van de tv en satelliet slordig aan de muur hangen. Dit kan makkelijk op een plankje aan de muur worden gemaakt.

Dies bedeutet aber auch, dass die Unterkunft nicht als „familiär“ zu bezeichnen ist, sondern eher als professionell geführtes Hotel. Die Lage ist gut und leicht auf Asphalt in einer Tagesfahrt von Windhoek zu erreichen. Das Von Lindequist-Gate in den Etosha Nationalpark ist rund 11 Kilometer entfernt. Das WiFi ist ausgesprochen gut sowohl in den Zimmern wie auch im Restaurant.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Negativ: Die Ausstattung im Zimmer müsste teilweise erneuert werden, z.B. der Handtuchhalter, das Schloss der Tür, teils kaputte Badezimmerarmaturen, abgeranzte Teppiche. Das Frühstück hat nicht unseren Erwartungen entsprochen. Die Frühstücksauswahl war gering und durchschnittlich. Der Pool sah sehr verschmutzt aus (der Boden und die Wände waren schwarz). Die Anlage war zu Beginn sicherlich wunderschön, aber inzwischen sieht man, dass die Instandhaltung vernachlässigt wurde. In dieser Preiskategorie kann man definitiv mehr erwarten. Positiv: Zumindest das Personal war außerordentlich freundlich und das Abendessen (gegen hohen Aufpreis) sehr gut. Darüber hinaus gab es ein angelegtes Wasserloch, bei dem man regelmäßig Oryxe und Antilopen antreffen konnte.

Some parts of the property were in need of a little upkeep and we didn’t enjoy the smoking of other guests when dining outside.
• Jean-Claude (10/5): Une étape inattendue. - C'était complètement inattendu. On a juste cherché une étape correcte au sortir d'Etosha (et du mauvais Okaukuejo), avant le Caprivi. Ce fut un régal sur tous les points, et la très bonne surprise de ce voyage. Un lodge calme, bien aménagé, un accueil super, et enfin une piscine qui n' était pas glacée. Le pool bar y ajoute une touche. Certains vous diront que la peinture de la piscine doit être rafraîchie, mais c'est franchement pas problématique. Un observatoire à 2 étages pour profiter des animaux qui viennent au point d'eau, un repas de bonne facture, et en plus le patron nous est venu en aide avec une générosité hors du commun. Il a été avec nous dans un garage à Tsumeb, pour refaire un équilibrage des roues. Il est resté près du garagiste, et s'est inquiété que tout se passe bien. Grâce à lui nous avons pu reprendre la route. Cette étape était un grand moment qu'on oubliera pas. Le soir un orage nous a privé d'électricité au moment du repas. Les chandelles ont ajouté au romantisme des lieux. A conseiller sans aucune doute.

• Claudius (8/5): Ein kleines Paradies - Die Emanya Lodge ist ein wunderbarer Ort, sich von der Reise zu erholen und um von dort aus den Etosha Nationalpark zu besuchen. Der Service und das Essen sind vorzüglich. Auf dem Aussichtsturm kann man,je nach Tageszeit, verschiedene Tiere beobachten. Auch wird am Nachmittag (im Preis eingeschlossen) eine Fussmassage und Kaffee und Kuchen angeboten. Vielleicht könnte man sagen, dass die nüchternen Gebäude (Haupthaus) nicht so ganz zur Umgebung passen.

Water running throughout property is nice. Coffee and cake midday. Cool bar. The owners were extremely helpful. Close enough to Etosha Nat'l Park to be convenient for day trips. A lovely, relaxing place. Negatives: A little too large for the number of rooms. Felt a bit more like a convention center than a quaint resort. Bathroom door was glass, so you could see into the bathroom from the bedroom, resulting in insufficient privacy. Nowhere to eat but restaurant, and food was just okay.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was great and internet good taking in consideration that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Rooms clean. The only downside was that there is no fridge there in the room and we were told that it is not allowed to drink our own wine or beer in our rooms. This was not explained on Expedia web site/confirmation. Saying this it was really a minor thing for us, but weird in an upmarket hotel.

• Kiki (8/5): - The hotel is about 25 mins from the Etosha gate on the east side. It’s not that far and we self-drove to the park everyday. The design is different than your typical safari lodge but it is very pretty in person. The rooms are spacious and very clean. They have TV and air con but no fridge. The manager received us on check in and toured the hotel with us which was nice. They offered free foot massages too. The water hole viewpoint is one of the highlights animals come there all the time. The breakfast was good, there’s always a hot option. Lunch is very average and dinner was a 5 course set menu every night at a very high rate. I wish there was more choice on what to eat. However the manager was very accommodating in providing food for our dietary needs. There’s also complementary cake and tea every afternoon. The staff are friendly but could use some more training so they appear more confident. The pool is beautiful and nice after a long game drive though it could be cleaner. The lodge also does game drives with a guide but I done mine myself.

• Nick (10/5): Geweldig! - Prachtig Hotel. S avonds komen de wilde beesten aan de vijver achteraan het hotel drinken/slapen. Geweldig om hiervan' te genieten. Het eten was oké en de bediening heel vriendelijk. Ook super genoten van de gratis voetmassage bij aankomst. Zeker een aanrader!
• Luc (10/5): - hotel heeft een water reservoir voor de beesten met uitzicht punt (heel leuk) negatief geen drank mag meegebracht worden, Je bent verplicht van alles in het hotel te kopen, Zelf softs dat ze niet hebben (coca zero) mag niet mee in de kamers ofwel moet je een boete betalen (legaliteit !)
• Rob (10/5): - Van alle lodges waar we in onze rondreis verbleven hebben was dit de beste. leukste en mooiste locatie. Je kan duidelijk zien dat alles door een architect ontworpen is. Het personeel is supervriendelijk en het eten was boven gemiddeld. De kamers zijn ruim opgezet met geweldige douche faciliteiten. De prijs-prestatie verhouding van deze locaties was super. Op de dag van vertrek nog even een gratis voetmassage gekregen voordat we verder trokken. Eigenlijk de locatie waar we echt een dag langer zouden willen blijven. Een echte aanrader dus

• Wilhelm (8/5): Als Basis für Etosha ideal. - + Schneller Checkin, gutes Dinner, freundliches, hilfsbereites Personsal. - Klimaanlage im Zimmer defekt, was auch bekannt war. Trotzdem das Zimmer vergeben.
• Christiane (8/5): - Modernes Hotel, toller Poolbereich, sehr gutes Essen, nur die Klimaanlage war nicht regelbar (man musste diese manuell ein und ausschalten), trotzdem würden wir das Hotel sehr weiterempfehlen.

• ian (10/5): Great Lodge, superb food, well worth a visit - Excellent hotel, with great rooms, superb food and great service. At a reasonable price. Some may think the hotel is a little far from the park (about 30km). But for me that did not matter, you have to travel a lot of distance anyway around Etosha so that bit extra was worth it for the above reasons. In comparison to the lodges in side the park, this place is miles better. So don't be persuaded to stay in the park. It offers little extra for a lot worse service.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Cape Charm just outside Etosha - It is a lovely place, the rooms are spacious, the service good, the dinner and breakfast tasty, one cannot fault the place. I was just a bit surprised to find a place, clearly inspired by the Cape winelands in the bush, just outside Etosha. I expected a bush lodge.I found it a bit out of place, but this is my personal sentiment. There is nothing wrong with Emenya.
• Anik (8/5): Modern, clean lined bush lodge - Quite a surprise to see the modern lines of this lodge. Waterhole and quiet surrounds.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Bed Bugs @ Emanya - I decided to treat my parents to a luxury stay at the Emanya. The place looked amazing and it could be, if not for the unwanted guests sharing your bed with you at night. There are tiny creatures in the beds and most guests won't notice them until they look closely at their pillows/sheets. You just feel something "walking" on your skin. Once you look closely, you won't sleep again - that feeling is a thousand tiny little living bugs falling down from the thatched roof onto your bed! I woke the owner at midnight asking for a new room. She was clearly aware of the problem, but not apologetic at all. She merely told me, they don't bite! OK, that makes me feel better at over N$10000 spent at Emanya for a luxury 2-night stay. She gave me a new room, but never walked with me to check that it was ok. The new room had the same problem - all the guest rooms do. No-one slept that night and it was too late to find alternative accom. The owner did not refund us for our terrible stay. Instead she kept saying the bugs don't bite and charged us the additional N$2600 for dinner for 4 people for 2 nights without so much as an apology. Unbelievable... and just shows that there is no intention to resolve the problem soon. According to the manager, the bugs live in the thatched roofs due to the grass not being treated properly. The dining hall has the same grass roof and I actually saw these bugs in my tea cup and plates as well. No doubt they fall into the food containers.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointing service - On our travels, we usually do not care much about service and focus on getting a good night of sleep. However, our experience at Emanya has been so disappointing that we feel obliged to share. In comparison to the effort put into designing and building the place, it is a stark contrast how it is being run today. Staff are friendly, but in need of training to provide better service. Dinner was served warm (and pricey); staff made no effort to clear the cobweb built up by an army of small spiders on our dining table (we had to ask for a different table); staff were more interested in helping the manager to sort out the cashier than serving guests; tap water was salty in room 7. The overall feeling is that the management is not setting a good example and not solving the right problem. Our sleep was fine in the end. For any potential holiday makers, we would strongly suggest reading up reviews on other websites, especially the negative ones. Although our experience was not as bad as some, there were glimpse of truth in a lot of the negative reviews.
• William (6/5): Close to Etosha, but could use some work - The hotel is rated 4.5 stars. I'd say the facilities have the potential to be 4.5 stars, but the management is poor and the staff are not trained at all. The food and restaurant are nice. The game viewing in the adjacent waterhole is the best part. Etosha is only 25 minutes away. It's a great stopping point for the park, but don't expect much from the staff.
• Rebecca (8/5): Beautiful but strange stay. - The working staff was very nice. The rooms, concrete, had a strange odor and auto spray deodorizers/air pollution. The dinner was good, but the highest priced meal we paid anywhere in the country. By far! There was a lack of communication overall from management that made everything confusing. Another guest sneering at our child made it feel not kid-friendly. Beautiful grounds.
• oswald (6/5): comfortable rooms, meals not what we expected - Average. Rooms were OK. The meals were grossly overpriced and the meat ( sirloin steak and pork chop) was very tough and thinly cut. Probably old animals? At the charged price one would expect something better. No tissues in bathroom.

• Isaiah (8/5): Nice stay with all the luxury - The hotel was very good (bed/bathroom/breakfast/dinner) but the extra point it got from the included foot massage that was offered (included in the price of your stay). The hotel is 20 km from the Etosha entry and that's a bit far. Very nice swimming pool, close to a local waterhole were you can see some animals.

• silvano (10/5): good but not the best - we stayed three nights and we enjoyed all the time not all the staff was up to the standard of the hotel the atmosphere was not really joyful missing a trolley for carrying the luggage , we had three big suitcases
• Stephen (8/5): Attractive hotel that could be better - This is an attractive hotel with interesting architecture and peaceful calm about it. The food is good. But the place is let down by little things that would be easy to fix. eg the entrance road is potholed and scruffy. The staff were very casual about a toilet that did not work.
