- Kun (5/5): The hotel is special and staffs are friendly and welcoming but I won’t choose it if come back to Guanajuato in the futur - The hotel is in a historical building and next to the basilica, its east to visit all the famous places My suite is not soundproof, it is facing the main road and central plaza of the town, with loud music until midnight and traffic noises. It’s difficult to sleep in this room.

Wi-fi presente solo nelle aree comuni e con poco segnale. Colazione non molto varia e con diverse cose a pagamento. Ho avuto un problema con il pagamento perchè mi sono stati prelevati i soldi due volte; ho potuto risolvere tramite la banca soltanto dopo due settimane che sono rientrato a casa. Non c'è stata molta collaborazione nonostante sia stato un problema creato da loro.

Please note the hotel does NOT have air conditioning. The bed mattresses were extremely hard, floor like hard. Also note there is a cathedral across the street and the bells sound frequently. The hotel did provide ear plugs.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Hotel for a family - The rooms were clean. The hotel offered a continental breakfast. The hotel was in the center of Guanajuato in front of a church, you could hear the church bells even with the windows closed, but we didn’t stay much in the room so it didn’t bother us. Very close to a lot of stores and restaurants. I enjoyed the big window with the small balcony.

The place itself was very clean, quiet and comfortable, had a simple but pleasant continental breakfast. Highly recommended.

- Nicholas (8/5): - Amazing location. Nice property. Spacious rooms. Restaurant. The only negatives are listed here: The wifi. It was horrible and did not work from the room most of the time. I could not work from here if I had to. Also the noise. It is an old building and the noise from other guests talking or going up the stairs was a lot. The free breakfast included only fruit, cereal, juice, and coffee. They did have other options (for a proper breakfast) available for a cost. That said, the staff was very nice amd helpful and the property has an amazing location.

A little noise from outside, but you can get free earplugs. Our 3 bed room was perfect for our family of 5 with a nice balcony. We will definitely stay there again. Very happy with Casa Virreyes. Staff very friendly.

- BRENDA (6/5): - The only bad experience I had was the fact that there is no air conditioning inside the hotel. During my stay in May. It is hot. There is a fan Inside the hotel room. However, it’s not enough ventilation, and the way that structure of the hotel is build ventilation is limited. Great location and welcoming staff!

- Roadboy (8/5): Good base for this amazing city – if you can get the right room - We were bowled over by a three night stay here in the heart of Guanajuato, a wonderful lively atmosphere on the streets. But our first night in this rather dated but decently run hotel was disappointing - not the room as advertised, but one without external windows, immediately alongside the breakfast courtyard. We were assured it was the same price category as we had booked, but when moved later the second day to a higher room at the front, the contrast was remarkable: still simply furnished, but so much brighter and fresher. I got the impression only four of the rooms actually have natural light. Despite the initial disappointment, we were happy with the hotel: breakfast, though simple, was generous; and the location can't be beat. We didn't find the noise of the city too disturbing, even the (rather beautiful) bells from the basilica immediately opposite.

- Philip (7/5): Couldn’t be more central - but rooms vary so much - Our second room was vast, and light and airy. Hard bed actually quite comfortable. Friendly service with (fairly basic) breakfast buffet, in impressive inner courtyard. Surrounded by the life of this amazing city, but noise not intolerable. Unhappy with room allocated for first night - assured it was the standard we’d booked, but not like the photos on booking.com: no window, stuffy, and very dated bathroom. I reckon that only four of the rooms resemble the attractive suites they promote, all the others appear to have no external windows.

But noisy stay. - My husband and I booked the deluxe king bed room that had a little sitting area and windows facing the Main Street, instead we were given a room with no windows to the outside. The second night we were moved to the room we booked the one with the seating area and windows. But on both rooms the bed and pillows were too hard, we could not sleep because of the ring of the church's bells from across the street. On the good side the location is great, the staff is friendly and have good breakfast.

- Jwkm69 (7/5): Located in the heart of the historical center, but be prepared for church bells. - The hotel is located in the heart of the historical district overlooking the beautiful cathedral and town square. The room was spacious and well lit as it was a room on the top floor facing the Main Street. I enjoyed the fact that there was a full bathtub which is quite rare in hotel rooms these days. I also have to mention that the staff were very nice and the complimentary continental breakfast was refreshing. The hotels location is also a slight negative. Although this is of no fault of the hotel, be prepared for church bells at random times day and night and occasional loud music on the weekends from people partying in local restaurants and bars. Noise cancelling headphones or ear plugs are advised if you happen to be a light sleeper. Additionally, the beds are extremely firm and reminded me of bedding in SE Asia - I made do, but am not a fan of mattresses without box springs.

- Israel (10/5): Third time staying here and will continue too. Thank you - All location rooms are okay. Free continental breakfast is delicious just what you need to get a start on your day a light meal. Location is close to all buildings a short walk to literally all museums and historical buildings. You can walk down to the mercado and eat or shop inside the little stalls. From there you can either catch a tour to visit the other museums the city has to offer. The hotel also offers tours to other cities such as Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende. Felt safe at this hotel, staff always willing to help out if you have any questions. Next time I will ask for a larger room even though we are only three people, I will ask for a larger room in order to have a bed for each person. The double rooms are double beds, or if you get a single the beds are king size, but we were three adults.
- Israel (10/5): Safe hotel to stay at! - Location, close to all museums. Continental breakfast is fine plus they have options to order from menu if you should choose too. Staff is always available and very nice to answer any questions. Hotel let me leave my luggage in there storage closet as I was out one day and would return another for the rest of the week. I made the mistake of getting a double room for three adults. The beds are fine but I will ask for a larger room next time in order for each person to get their own bed.

- Melina (10/5): - Estuve durante Diciembre en este hotel y la verdad que esta bastante bien por la ubicación que te ofrecen. Lo malo es el estacionamiento, esta a 10min y hay que llevarlo y tomar un taxi de regreso (que no estuvo caro, fueron $80 pesos), pero si consideramos que asi es en la mayoria de los centros históricos pues no debería ser un motivo para dejar una mala reseña. La habitacion estuvo bastante bien, el hotel no cuenta con aire acondicionado, pero como fui en Diciembre no pase calor. Lo unico fue que la segunda noche, si hubo gente usando el comedor y como quedo exactamente enfrente de mi habitación, escuche ruido muy temprano de las personas que desayunaban. Ah! Y el wifi no me funcionaba mucho en mi habitación, pero tenia señal asi que podia usar mis datos sin problema. Me volveria a quedar por la ubicación excelente que te ofrecen por el precio, sales y estas frente a la "Basilica Colegiata de Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato", es decir, ¡ en el mero centro a una cuadra del Teatro Juarez!

Cleanliness was not what I expected, we stayed at their sibling property last time and the cleanliness was top notch so that’s why we decided to try this one. There was hair on the bed and the sheets looked stained, the staff quickly resolved this issue but it raised concerns about how clean the whole place really was. Overall we were happy with our stay and will definitely stay again here.
