I could consider staying there again The menu was limited. They should have more variety of food. The wifi was also on and off. Plus it was always timed with passwords, Which could sign you out.

• Sally (10/5): We loved our stay there and hope to be back. - We loved our stay here and the view was so beautiful. Every moment there was so good. The food was fantastic. The room was beautiful and decorated so well. It was so comfortable, with a fan and an air conditioner. The pool was lovely. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed going to the sister properties and walking on other beaches. The Taxi driver to go to the other lodges called Alpha was so friendly and helpful.The dive center was excellent and Hamissi was really the best instructor and Billy was great, helping me snorkel. Hopefully the marine park can be kept well with the help of the lodges and hotels and the government. The gardens are beautiful.

Le restaurant excellent avec une vue sublime. Des lieux et des recoins pour lire, dans une ambiance de cabane de luxe en bois. Lieu reposant, apaisant, comme un cocon. Des allées fleuries magnifiques. Vu le standing de l'hôtel, peut être offrir par élégance commerciale, le café expresso attrapé au vol au bar, avant le taxi, plutôt que de réclamer un complément de facture. ;-)

• ross (5/5): Good If you are happy chilling by the pool and not doing much in the ocean or surrounding area. - The hotel itself is quite beautiful on a large landscaped ground overlooking a beautiful piece of ocean with an island and a lovely pool area. Unfortunately the ocean in front of the hotel is no good fro swimming because of an infestation of sea urchins right in front of the hotel and to the left and right - there is a sliver of of beach just to the left of the hotel at low tide and you can swim in a small area of sand but the beach is never tended to or cleaned and fulled with litter everyday. The area is also meant to be a marine protected area but every single morning there are at least 100 local boats racing around taking people to swim with dolphins, snorkel or go sit on the sandbank, this is completely unregulated and out of control. The local boat touts also sit on the resort pier trying to sell hotel guests trips. The drinks service at the hotel is also not great with many items out of stock and no one serving drinks around the pool. The nearby beaches are not great either, again swarming with unregulated and rude people harassing you to buy things including illegals poached shells.
• Vincent (10/5): Si le paradi existe, il est au sunshine marine lodge !! - Nous avions déjà séjourné dans cet établissement en 2022, donc nous étions déjà en pays de connaissance. Ce qui nous plait dans cet hotel, c'est l'accueil, la gentillesse du personnel, la vue sur la mer, la magnifique piscine à débordement, Une excellente cuisine. En résumé, un vrai coin de paradis.

• Plakkot (6/5): - It has a good pool with a view of the ocean and the Mnemba island is properly visible from here. The staff were courteous and available to answer all queries. They also came to do a mosquito spray. Rooms also felt quite spacious. The location is cut off from everything and you're stuck to the resort which has very limited choices. Everything at breakfast felt stale compared to all other properties we stayed at. Rooms, while spacious, didn't feel tasteful - really old lockers, torn decor, and bed wasn't made even at 2 pm the next day. Overall, very average and loads of nicer properties on the stretch.

The place needs an update as it feels like an old safari lodge at present not lux resort. We prefer more upbeat atmosphere.

Buona colazione, una delle migliori durante il nostro viaggio itinerante a Zanzibar con frutta fresca, croissant, torte fatte in casa, omelette, bacon e salsicce. Consiglio le camere vista mare, in questo caso fanno davvero la differenza!

• Solange (10/5): - We chose this resort mainly because it has an on site dive centre, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. We completed our Open Water course with Hamissi, and it was an absolutely amazing experience — professional, fun, and very reassuring. Highly recommended! From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel like part of a big family. The staff genuinely take care of you and go out of their way to make your stay special. The resort offers a stunning sea view. While there is no direct beach access, this is absolutely not a problem: during the day there is a free shuttle service to nearby sister resorts, where you can choose between a public beach or a private beach. Both options are fantastic, so you really don’t miss out on anything. Another big plus is the free daily yoga, which was a wonderful way to relax and start the day. The spa treatments are also excellent. we tried them and they were absolutely amazing. And the food… simply wow! Huge compliments to the chef and the entire team, every meal was delicious and beautifully prepared. Overall, a wonderful resort with great diving, outstanding staff, excellent food, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We would definitely come back!

• alexandra (3/5): - Τα δωμάτια ήταν ευρύχωρα και όμορφα διακοσμημένα !! Όπως επίσης και οι εξωτερικοί χώροι , οι κήποι , η πισίνα !!! Δεν μου άρεσε καθόλου το κλίμα στο ξενοδοχείο !!!!Δεν μου άρεσε καθόλου η τοποθεσία και κυρίως δεν μου άρεσε καθόλου το γεγονός πως υπήρχαν άπειρες ελλείψεις στο μενού του εστιατορίου οι οποίες μέρα με την μέρα πλήθαιναν αντί να λιγοστεύουν !!!!κυριολεκτικα την πρώτη μέρα που φτάσαμε δεν είχαν κανένα πιάτο με μοσχάρι ή κοτόπουλο . Λέμε εντάξει ας είναι !!!τις επόμενες ημέρες καταλήξαμε να μην έχουν σχεδόν τίποτα !!!! Έπρεπε δηλαδή ή να φας μακαρόνια ή την επιλογή του σεφ με το πιάτο ημέρας. !!!! Δηλαδή αν δεν σου αρέσει ο τόνος ή η Swahili κουζίνα μένεις νηστικός !!!! Βέβαια ας μην πάω τόσο μακριά λέγοντας για το φαγητό , ζητήσαμε 2 καφέδες espresso στις 5 το απόγευμα μια ημέρα αλλά μας ενημέρωσαν πως δεν υπάρχουν την δεδομένη στιγμή !!! Ζητήσαμε σόδες επίσης δεν υπήρχαν !!! Ζητήσαμε κλειστό μπουκάλι εμφιαλωμένο νερό επίσης δεν υπάρχει ΚΑΝ σαν προϊόν παρά μόνο οι φιάλες που οι ίδιοι γεμίζουν υποτίθεται από μεγάλο εμφιαλωμένο βαρελάκι και φυσικά είναι σχεδόν πάντα ζεστές !!!!το πρωινό νόστιμο αλλά μίζερο σε ποσότητα και επιλογές !!!! Τα δωμάτια μέσα στα έντομα και τις κατσαρίδες !!! 2 βρήκαμε στις 5 μέρες που μείναμε στο κατάλυμα !!! Θα μου πεις έισαι μέσα σε κήπους !! Ναι οκ ! Καλό το ψέκασμα κάθε βράδυ και η κουνουπιέρα αλλά προφανώς εάν δεν υπήρχαν κενά ώστε να μπαίνουν όλα αυτά μέσα στο δωμάτιο θα ήταν καλύτερα τα πράγματα !!!εμείς ούτε παράθυρα ανοίξαμε ( λόγο των παιδιών )για να πω ότι έμπαιναν από εκεί ούτε αφήνανε τις πόρτες ανοιχτές !!!! Το προσωπικό με ελάχιστες εξαιρέσεις αγενέστατο , αγέλαστο , αδιάφορο και με κακή γνώση αγγλικών !!!! Κρίμα !!! Παρακαλούσα να μην είχα φύγει ποτέ από το ξενοδοχείο που είμασταν πριν !!!! Δεν το προτείνω σε καμία περίπτωση !

• Frank (10/5): Immer wieder - Die Lage der Anlage ist sauber, gepflegt und der Garten ist einzigartig. Der Zugang zum Meer ist einfach. Man muss aber genau die Gezeiten abpassen, um ins Wasser zu gehen. Die regionalen Speisen (Fisch, Calamares etc.) im Hotelrestaurant sind sehr gut aber im Verhältnis zu den lokalen Restaurant ein wenig teuer, aber immer noch absolut erschwinglich.

Sent me the photo of my bills etc. And asked for my credit card details (!) for refund!. When I asked them to refund to my bank account instead, they ghosted me.

• Balázs (10/5): - The lodge has an amazing view, nice swimming pool, friendly staff and managers, a joint diving center and yoga opportunities every weekdays. The food was also beyond our expectations. We have taken the honeymoon offer and it was well worth it: snorkeling, 3 course dinners, couple massage, airport transfer, also we booked the oceanview suite and the it’s stunning. They also have free shuttle bus to the sister-hotel’s private beach. We really liked the place and enjoyed the time we spent there.

• Claudia (10/5): - Great Location, Perfect Place to Relax. Shuttle to 2 further hotels in very close distance was ideal if you wanted to have Beach Access. Diving Center at the hotel was excellent as well as the Short Distance to the atoll. • Kristina (8/5): - We checked in on my brother’s birthday. Unfortunately, nothing was done to celebrate it. The next day, another family checked in, and it was the woman’s birthday — the staff brought her a cake and sang a song. My brother was very upset because on his actual birthday he received nothing, while others were celebrated. It left us with a very disappointing impression.

Camera famigliare spaziosa, comoda e caratterizzata con dettagli piacevoli. Lo staff è stato il migliore dei tanti posti sperimentati a Zanzibar, sempre gentile, attento e reattivo. Interessante e molto pratico poter prendere la navetta per spostarsi a visitare le altre strutture Sunshine della zona, moltiplica con facilità le possibilità di esplorare gli splendidi dintorni sentendosi sempre ospiti graditi. Abbiamo avuto un po' di difficoltà al momento del check-in perché ci avevano assegnato una stanza diversa e più piccola di quella prenotata, ma dopo qualche ora abbiamo risolto e ci è stata data una splendida camera famigliare con vista parziale. Vista la posizione è molto probabile che per la sera si decida di restare a cena in hotel, benché non si mangi affatto male diventa un po' ripetitivo anche se ogni giorno ci sono proposte nuove. Visto il livello dell'hotel se ci fosse anche un menù più interessante e curato sarebbe

• laura (10/5): A little slice of paradise - I absolutely loved my stay and would absolutely go back again! It’s a small hotel with beautiful grounds, stunning pool and scenery looking onto mnemba island. There is no beach, but this didn’t bother me with such a beautiful view and you can get the shuttle bus to the sister hotels (azure and sunshine bay) to go onto matemwe beach. I did this and have to say that I’m so glad I didn’t choose either of those hotels and was happy to go back to mine. I had a lodge room (number 1) looking out to sea and I could have stared at the view forever! The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much hassle. The food was lovely, a wide menu with a range of specials on each evening. There’s plenty of room by the pool and there’s little areas of sun beds if you don’t want to be right next to the pool. There are only a couple of beds that get the complete sunshine all day, just to note for other sun worshippers! I don’t know why other reviewers have put more negative comments as they’re really not deserved, people should read the description of the hotel and know there is no beach before commenting that there isn’t a beach!! Nothing, it was fabulous

• Angela (7/5): Beautiful resort, but not much to do - The resort is beautiful and the rooms are very nice and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is big and very good. Overall the food is quite good. There is no beach access and literally nothing you can do there except hanging around by the pool. The service can be a bit slow and staff doesn't seem very motivated.

• Dina (10/5): Peaceful oasis - We had an amazing stay at Sunshine Marine Lodge. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The reception team helped with arranging tours and activities - we especially loved the tour of Stone Town! The hotel also offers transfer services from the airport, which was really convenient. The resort itself is beautiful and peaceful. The food was also great, especially the fresh fruit at breakfast and the daily specials for lunch and dinner. Cannot recommend this stay enough!

• Dorte (10/5): Perfect relaxing holiday - Relaxing holiday. All staff smiling, very friendly and service minded. Excellent team. The food was excellent, perhaps a bit expensive, but very tasty and beautifully served. Special thanks to the waiter Daniel who was really making a difference. We tried yoga and the yoga instructor Anna was really good, Stayed in the ocean view bungalow. The only thing which I recommend is a new madras as it was a bit used.

The only minor improvements we wish they did was: - A lunch menu with smaller meals - A small shop for snacks, chips, chocolate, nuts etc. - A wider range of products for the breakfast.

Shower didn't drain well. AC was quite weak. Pool was not very clean. Dive Shop just processed humans no matter what the conditions. Snorkelers shouldn't trust them. The bed was the worst ever. Two twin beds pushed together so you sink into a bed butt crack in the middle. Made sleeping very uncomfortable.

• Mary (9/5): A restful and rejuvenating stay - It is a well designed resort, the gardens are very well maintained. The toilets near the restaurant and pool area were exceptionally clean every time we visited- a rare find in many resorts. I liked the yoga - Anna was great. The diving was very well organized and friendly helpful staff. We had expected more choice/quality for breakfast based on what we had at other resorts on the island. Specials were ok but slighted limited range for our preferences.
• Refilwe (10/5): Such a beautiful place for making memories! - It is far from the village, therefore giving a cozy & refreshing atmosphere. We enjoyed every moment there. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, ocean view suite was breathtaking. Such a perfect place for a couple or even with kids ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. I would definitely choose sunshine marine lodge again. Best Zanzibar experiences
