The conditioning was adjustable. Very nice breakfast and extreamly welcoming staff. The food at the restaurant was average, but quite expensive. So it could have been better balanced.

• Jeff (9/5): It was nice once they got the water problem fixed. - It was close to the beach, its own private beach, where sun beds and umbrellas were included with the room. The hotel also had free parking which was helpful. The bed was comfortable and the staff was incredibly nice. Breakfast buffet (included in my room rate) was good - not incredible - but good. When I arrived at about 15:00/3 PM, there was no running water in the hotel. No running water. They got the water problem fixed a little after 22:00/10 PM that night. At around 21:00 I asked the manager what time the issue started and he said, "This evening" which was an outright lie. After telling him there was no running water when I arrived, he offered to comp my room. The following morning before I checked out, I said 1/2 the rate was fine. Comping my room was generous but didn't seem entirely fair to the hotel/staff.

• Thomas (9/5): Schöne Strandlage, wie im Film - Schönes, klassisches Hotel mit Privatstrand, Pool und einer schönen Bar (abends). Das Restaurant ist ebenfalls empfehlenswert und von hoher Qualität. Sehr freundliches Personal mit wenigen Ausnahmen. Wenn man spät zum Frühstück kommt, werden die Tische bereits für das Mittagessen eingedeckt. Der eine oder andere Mitarbeiter im Service strahlt dabei nicht unbedingt die Atmosphäre aus, die man beim Frühstück eigentlich haben möchte: Ruhe, Gelassenheit und Gemütlichkeit. Wenn neben einem lautstark das Geschirr klappert und jemand missgelaunt schaut und Hektik verbreitet, hat das mit einem schönen Start in den Tag eher wenig zu tun.

• Ruth (10/5): - El hotel es precioso, las habitaciones cómodas e impecables, teníamos una vista hermosa hacia el mar, la atención del personal excelente, fueron muy amables y colaboradores en todo momento, en los restaurantes y el bar de playa del hotel se come riquísimo y se pueden tomar tragos muy buenos, el acceso y la ubicación inmejorable, está en una de las playas más hermosas del sur de Cerdeña, desde allí caminando por la playa puedes ir a otras dos que también son muy bonitas, la verdad pasamos días preciosos y los recomendamos 1000%!

• Gary (10/5): - We have just returned from a 14-night half-board holiday at the luxurious Hotel Simius Playa and had an absolutely lovely, relaxing holiday. The location is excellent, next to a beautiful private sandy beach. The hotel was very charismatic and is the epitome of my perception of old Sardinian charm. It is very impressive and kept impeccably clean at all times. Our suite was very nicely furnished with an excellent view of the sea from our balcony and was kept pristinely clean by housekeeping. The quality and variation of food in the restaurant for breakfast was excellent and the à la carte menu in the evening was exceptional. All of the hotel staff was excellent, very friendly, professional, helpful, cheerful and always with a smile on their faces. We’d like to add a special huge thank you to all of the restaurant staff, especially Antonino, Enrico, Aimane and Simone for making our dining experience “perfetto”. We met a number of guests, who have been returning to Hotel Simius Playa for over 20 years and can understand why. We will return.

Enda minus är att det kostade mellan 20-40 euro att använda hotelllets solstolar på stranden, det hade kunnat bakats in i hotellets rumspriser.
• debbiegZ5933TG (10/5): An outstanding hotel which retains its Sardinian charm with modern finishes. - We have stayed at this hotel previously but disconcerted by some of the negative reviews we had read prior to our stay. Happily, we found none of them to be applicable. The hotel was still smart, clean with beautifully maintained gardens. Yes, it's not an ultra modern building that could be anywhere in the world! It has character, warmth and individuality. Our room overlooking the garden and pool was large and airy. The ensuite was spacious and the shower fabulous.All the staff were friendly and welcoming and happy to assist whenever asked. Most particularly, the restaurant staff under the lead of Giovanni were exceptional in their efforts to satisfy any requests put to them by guests. I hope the hotel also retain their chef as the quality of the meals was fabulous. The beach area was well maintained and the addition of a beach bar was very handy.The location of this hotel is sublime with the beach adjacent to the gardens.

• Siobhan (8/5): A little bit of paradise - We spent 4 days half board at the hotel Simius playa in mid September. We enjoyed our stay in particular the fabulous beach with turquoises water and great evening meals, with lots of choice. We had a superior double room with a sea view and small terrace which was a good size and very clean, water pressure in shower was great. The staff at the hotel were lovely, in particular the maitre d, Thomas and the tall waiter (apologies forgot his name) Cons It’s a quiet area with not much activity going on apart from shops and restaurants up in the town. We got a local bus from Cagliari arst bus station, right beside the train station to villasimius and this was fairly straightforward however the return journey was not as there was an unexpected bus strike, waiting 2 hours discover no bus for another 4 hours. Taxi was required. Cost of taxis is extortionate. Recommendation rent a car. The views along the coast road are spectacular.

• HENRI HUBERT (9/5): Un oasis de confort (bis) - Nous sommes retournés dans cet hôtel un an après un premier séjour. Notre jugement n'a pas varié : notre satisfaction est totale. Voici ce que nous écrivions il y a un an : grande chambre tout confort, douche à l'italienne, calme et propreté, excellente restauration, salle de fitness, aménagements extérieurs soignés, parking gratuit. Une mention spéciale pour le personnel, très compétent et débordant de gentillesse. La proximité de la mer exceptionnelle de Villasimius nous a peut-être enivré ! Le café du matin pourrait être meilleur.

• stephane (10/5): - Séjourner à l’hôtel Simius Playa fut une expérience véritablement exquise, à la hauteur des plus belles adresses méditerranéennes. Niché dans un écrin de verdure, l’établissement offre un jardin somptueux et une piscine d’une élégance rare, propices à la détente et à la contemplation. La chambre, d’un confort irréprochable, était dotée d’un lit king size au moelleux divin, garantissant des nuits paisibles. Chaque détail semble avoir été pensé avec soin : de l’étendoir discret installé à l’extérieur à l’agencement harmonieux de l’espace. Seul un miroir grossissant manquait à l’appel, mais cela n’a en rien altéré la qualité du séjour. Le restaurant gastronomique de l’hôtel mérite une mention particulière : les mets y sont raffinés, savoureux, et servis avec une attention toute particulière. Le personnel, chaleureux et courtois, parle français, ce qui ajoute à la fluidité et au plaisir de l’accueil. Enfin, la célébration du 15 août, fête emblématique en Italie, fut un moment d’exception. L’hôtel a organisé une véritable garden party, avec musiciens et ambiance festive, ponctuée d’une délicate attention : une rose offerte à toutes les dames. Ce geste, empreint de charme et de délicatesse, témoigne du souci du détail qui caractérise l’établissement. Classé quatre étoiles, l’hôtel Simius Playa pourrait sans conteste prétendre à une cinquième, tant la qualité des prestations et l’excellence du service sont au rendez-vous.

• 877lianaa (10/5): Outstanding hotel and superb fine dining experience! - Just got back staying at this hotel. Pros for this hotel: food is phenomenal! Right outside the hotel is the beach. Sea is so clean. Rooms are super clean, we had a lovely lady Simona clean our room, she is super! Staff at the hotel very helpful and kind especially Sergei he organised 3 of the events we requested. I loved fresh apples every day provided by the hotel. I also loved the bookshelf in the bar area of all donated books, such a beautiful way of recycling. The whole hotel is super clean! Cons: if you don’t go half board you pay for sunbeds. First two rows are 50 euros from 3rd row it’s 35 euros. The majority of Clientele of this hotel older people, nothing against them, but if you have young kids there is nothing for them to do here, the pool is tiny. Also it will be quite boring for teens too, however if you are looking for quiet holiday in the authentic south of Sardinia this is ideal! The restaurant staff is amazing especially Giovanni and Antonio! The chef is outstanding!! I’ve not eaten this well in any of my holidays and I have travelled quite a lot! Thank you Alessio Algherini you are truly a Michelin star chef!

Would of been nice if the beach chairs were included, we had to pay 3 euros to change one beach towel, would of been nice that they would give us water every day and not pay for it and also not charge if ever we wanted an omelette.

However, there was a local tax that the hotel charged and booking.com quotes taxes and fees included, which is misleading and should be corrected.

• Alyce (6/5): - Overall I would rate this property a 3 stars, the beach and the breakfast was lovely but all the hidden fees were what brought this down for me. Nowhere on Expedia does it say you have to pay for the cabanas on the beach, or for extra towels, everything in the mini bar (although this one is hit or miss, a lot of the 4 star places I stay in usually have the first round free and then anything extra is added one). Our first day at the beach the lifeguard actually said to not worry about the fee and pay for it next time, turns out he added it to the bill anyways which we had to pay at the end of the stay. The hotel itself is outdated and in need of a refresh. Overall majority of the staff were nice, one or two were rude but we brushed that off due to the language barrier. During my time in Sardinia I also stayed in another 4 star hotel and felt so welcomed there and it also had top tier facilities, which may also contribute to me giving this a 3 star…

• Nadine (10/5): - We are repeat guests of this place. We love it and we love the staff, Barbara , Sergei, Giovanni, Antonio , the chef , the housekeepers and the rest of the crew. They are all so kind and helpful and very service minded. The food is top notch, and they serve their own wine and olive oil from their own gardens. The outside gym is one of our favorite parts of this place. It’s a beautiful hotel with elegant decoration and the location is unbeatable. The owners are so kind and they really care about their guests. We will be back many times for many more years to come.
• Jacqueline (8/5): Enjoyed our stay here - Pros: friendly staff, hotel is located right on the beach, beautiful buildings and landscape. The rooms have air conditioning! We loved that. Cons: breakfast is bland, the scrambled eggs were extremely watery everyday. If you want to use the beach bed they cost between 20-40€ to use, depending on which row you pick.

A great wine list with a big focus on Sardinia wines. The prices are very reasonable. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and the same staff from the evening dinner is serving you. This is a hotel/restaurant where you feel 100% at home!

• Robin Andrew (10/5): - I have seen on social media and reviews of this hotel that state that the staff were miserable and that none of them spoke English and tended to be very standoffish. What I found here was that the staff were exceptional and very eager to please all of the staff spoke English and understood everything. They were very helpful with information on the area and places to eat. The restaurant here was exceptional and very high-quality. The beach area attached to this hotel was also very friendly and the beach was very clean and the water was crystal clear . The hotel itself was clean and was decorated with a mixture of African and Thai furniture. The service here was impeccable and representative of service of the olden days where customer is King and all that you needed was carried out immediately. Please note that this area of Sardinia is quieter than the north they’re all no ancient villages to wander around, but it’s perfect for a quiet relaxing holiday. I would recommend it to anyone..

• Pilotreviewing (10/5): Cool Vibe with great staff and food - Stunning hotel with a neat colonial 60s vibe. We had a great check in experience with serghi and a lovely welcome drink in their bar area. Large rooms and an amazing breakfast buffet. The staff was very attentive even to the point of remembering us by room number without saying anything. It was quiet and clean comfy beds and nice amenities. We ate at the garden restaurant for lunch which we quite enjoyed and also spent two full days at the beach where the bar and the gentleman working the area were great ! The walk to the main town areas is uphill a bit and took about 15-20 mins but there is a bus just out front of the hotel or they can call you a TUK TUK The only negative I would say is paying for the beach chairs at the beach where based on the row you would like the price changes. This is a pro and a con I suppose as if you want front row you are almost guaranteed to have a nice chair umbrella. We don’t have a problem paying for the chairs just was a little surprised since it wasn’t advertised online or just add it in the price but most of Sardinian beaches are like this.

• Scanmike (10/5): Very good experience - Ignore the negative review below . We are Americans and speak very little Italian . We were treated with respect . The front desk was very polite and helpful . We got a parking ticket and she filled it out for us and told us where to go and pay it. The room is small but clean and efficient. There is enough storage . Hair dryer was fine. A/C was good. Bed is firm but we like that. We only had breakfast. There is enough to choose from . Eggs were grainy but plenty of other choices , cereals, breads, pancakes, desserts, fruit juices. Service was fast and attentive. Beach is beautiful but this.was my only gripe .. shy charge extra to sit on a beach lounge with umbrella when you pay enough for the hotel ? Also replenish the room bottled water . There are no smoking signs all over but the stench of smoke on second floor staircase was overwhelming . Who is smoking ??? Overall good hotel with beautiful pool and beach . Just let people lounge for free !
