Guest Reviews
- Navjot (6/5): - I would say good for for the price.
- John (6/5): - Negatives -
Room door who had to slam it. Noisy due to construction site next door. Safe not working, no mini fridge, positives -,airconditioning cold ,shower good, kettle ,coffee tea etc 2 water bottles provided. Bed sheets etc clean. I suppose for what i paid for the night was ok .used to be great budget hotel 2014 and back now needs the whole place renovating . The pool glass etc needs cleaning , bar area near pool used to get drinks etc sit on the stools great little area now sadly run down inoperative. used to have great chef tommy there was really nice little hotel then oh well enough of negative feed back still ok i. Air port ,beach ,lippo mall, food areas , transport i give it a positive as no complaints by me
- Wendy (4/5): - The price suited the property as it was cheap and suited us as a temporary place to rest before leaving the country located near the airport was ideal
- Larry (6/5): - For a $20 a night hotel it was ok
Staff got me a refrigerator that it didn’t have
Overall I thought the staff was great I think the hotel needs some refreshing but I left a place that only had a sink in shower shared with toilet for $25 a night down the street
- Santiago (6/5): - Internet is very fast. Theres a huge construction site next door. The noise is very loud all day long
- William (10/5): - Excellent!
- William (10/5): - Great!
- Tuan (10/5): - Good
- Machelle (10/5): - We were able to rest in between a long layover
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We stayed here to be close to the airport for an early flight. The room was ok, the linens are really old and worn. It’s in a noisy area, breakfast was ok. All in all for the price it was ok.
- Lionel (10/5): Affordable comfortable handy and very helpful - It was only a short stay, but enjoyable comfortable and hit the spot
- Harpreet (10/5): - Staff really helped
- Jimmy (8/5): - This hotel is very nice for the price. There is some ageing of the facilities, but it holds up nicely. Clean rooms and no issues.
Breakfast was traditional Indonesian. Nothing fancy, but satisfying, especially for the price.
We were a family of 2 adults and 3 kids and we had no issues; check in was easy and an elevator was in operation.
Would definitely recommend for a night or two before or after a flight - close to the airport. But probably you wouldn’t want much longer.
- Francis (8/5): - Very convenient for airport access.
- Glenn (6/5): - Still needing good signal for watching TV !
Also minor maintenance needed
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place where we stay was very good. Food, staffs, service everything was of top level.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - nice, clean place, and professional staff. All staff are very helpful and have smiling face most the time.
- Levi (4/5): - I booked this hotel as a transit hotel for a 7 hour stay after checking out of my hotel and before my late flight home.
The room i had was just disgusting. The bathroom was the most filthy thing I have seen, The toilet, the shower, the sink, the one good think about the room was the Air con.
I would not recommend this hotel at all. I just wish I could upload pics of the room. - see my review / pics on tripadvisor
- minsu (8/5): Location is good - Good.
Kindly staff
- Rania (2/5): Worst hotel ever - We paid for one night but was told that we only had a reservation for 7 hours even when showing the receipt. The guy in the counter was rude with zero service skills and we ultimately had to pay extra for the booking that already was made. The rooms are filthy and dogs barking outside made it impossible to even get a minutes sleep. This was by far the worst hotel experience ever. Do not book this place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff excellent. Some aspects of room need upgrading. Wi Fi disappointing
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average. Explore other options..... - Overnight hotel near airport so location is good but don't be overcharged getting there. Pay no more than 100,000 IDR for transport. Should be less. Staff were pleasant and I mistakenly left my phone at reception when trying to check in (room wasn't ready) and they rescued it for me. Just a bit slow to respond to requests. Standards of linens not great. Towels had seen better days and sheets had a blood stain on them. Breakfast was ok. All very average. Pool looses sun in the afternoon and is a small rectangle. Not inspiring to laze around. Probably could do better in location for price. I spent another night 50 metres down the road in a far superior establishment with a rooftop pool and cost was not much greater. I wouldn't return.
- Bret (8/5): - We stayed here for just over a week, everything was great, breakfast was good, only issue we had was wifi was terrible.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was dated. Toilet seat loose and floating. Exposed power in refrigerator, I was zapped. Limited breakfast selection.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There was extensive mould in the bathroom and shower and the bedding used was clean but had permanent stains. The staff were really lovely and really helpful. They went above and beyond
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff are very friendly the rooms reasonable clean. The TV in every room has not good reception the WiFi OK. The worse about this hotel they have special deal packages for Chinise and Indians. You can't sleep at night they make excessive noise all hours. This is a terrible experience for other nationals staying at the hotel they don't respect other people and they don't want to quite down at night. They slum the doors they shouting outside in the corridors all night. I have stayed their previously it was a good quite hotel but not anymore.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent Stay - The hotel had everything I needed, nothing flashy but all there. Tv was fuzzy but watchable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We used this hotel as a stop over and was happy for the money as it was very cheap, clean and A/C worked well. Close to the airport also. we recommend this hotel for short stays.
- Scott (10/5): - My stay at the Solaris Hotel was an unbelievably pleasant and relaxing experience. The staff there were so professional and extremely attentive to any questions or needs I might have. They were friendly and personable, from the Managers to Security and even the “trainees”. A wonderful group of people running the Solaris.
I have nothing negative to say about my stay there. I was there for 19 nights and enjoyed every minute there. I intend to return to Bali again with my son and have every intention of staying at the Solaris.
- Shay (8/5): - I liked breakfast the most. The property needs to update thier facilities .
- Chak Wai (4/5): Old and Dirty Budget hotel - Really don't have much good things to say about this hotel other than its location, it is a 5 min ride to airport. I am glad that we just stayed here for 1 night as an overnight stop since we landed after midnight. I understand this is a budget hotel but here is a list of things I want to share to avoid Solaris as there are much better options in Kuta.
1. The bedding and pillow had black stains on it.
2. Sheets were moist which makes it really uncomfortable
3. The shampoo and soap rack was broken.
4. Towels were old and greyish
5. My room window is facing main street and dogs were barking all nights
6. No sound proof, I can hear steps when someone pass by my room
- Boomer (10/5): - Clean, easy access, 24/hour desk service. I will book again
- Andy (2/5): Not great - Rooms were dirty, fixtures hanging off the wall everywhere, shower flooded the room, not good
- Mark (6/5): Location is good but a lot of room for improvement - It is conveniently located within city area so it is very accessible to all things. Lots of issues.
1. The wifi is terrible. No signal at all times and we called so many times for them to move us to other rooms but instead promises us to fixed it and until the 5th day still fixed. All 4 calls was useless.
2. The linens and towels are full of stains. My wife had a difficult time sleeping because she keep on scratching due to itchiness bcoz of dirty beds.
3. The toilet is clogging and water keeps on the shower area for awhile. Using bidet is worst as after using it, foul smell will eventually surfaced. Too smelly that we didn’t bother to use the bidet anymore.
4. Food buffet is so-so as it was all the same for the 4night we stay there. Nothing special.
Overall, you get what you pay for. But I won’t be recommending this to my friends as i dont want them to experience what we experienced.
- Laura (6/5): - Nice hotel within walking distance to beach and shopping mall and restaurants.
- Gt (6/5): - In terms of location, is convenient. Walking distance to mall or hunt for food. But the room condition is so so only. The bed sheet and towel is not clean.
- kp (10/5): Great hotel - The hotel was good. Although the room was quite small. We loved the breakfast, they had different food everyday and they were all good. I also live that they have a pool.
- Megan (8/5): Family trip - Pros:
Beach is only 5min away from hotel but far from Seminyak if u want to go for surfing. Hotel services were good. Hotel is only 10min away from airport.
Cons:
More variety on breakfast. We stayed for 5days, the 3rd morning was a repeat of our 1st breakfast menu.
- Palmita Mbolatiana (10/5): nice place, good service - perfect
- prashant (4/5): Bad hotel but near to Indian restaurant - Hotel condition was ok but Room condition was bad. AC was not cooling properly and making sound .Water dripping from Aircon, bedsheet and towel was dirty and blanket cover was tore. Room was very small.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location of hotel is near by bali airport and most of food court and also near to lippo mall as well discovery mall. All Indian Restaurants are near by too. Room comfort bit less but room cleaning and staff of the hotel response is good. No Items in Breakfast , don't exact any thing in breakfast which will get generally in other hotel when you book breakfast complementary.
- Pris (8/5): All Good and Recommended - Went here for an 8 hour stay over (arrived mid night). Service was good and friendly staffs. Clean and with wifi too. I can't say much about local area since I had to move to other city within 8 hours. Overall was good, I will recommend to stay here for a quick stayover.
- Allison (8/5): Not bad - I stayed at Solaris just one night after arriving in Bali late in the evening and wanted something close to the airport. The service and staff was great, breakfast was good, the pool was nice and the area was great for walking around. It’s about a 10 month walk to the beach and from there everything is near by. Across the street from the hotel are message and nil salons as well as stores if you need something. The only downside was that here were little ants in my room and the shower had black mold around the edges. Just needs to be updated a bit or cleaned properly otherwise it’s good enough for the price and a short stay.
- Tanmay (8/5): - The hotel is located very close to the airport and also has a lot of places to eat around. There’s a mall close by too if you’d like to shop.
The rooms are very clean and the stay was very comfortable.
Super value for money, this hotel. I’d recommend this if you’re planning to stay closer to the airport.
- Glenn (8/5): King Bed - Quiet area, Central location and value for money
- qim (6/5): nearer to malls but far from main tourism kuta - overall it was okay for the price. the staff are friendly. the breakfast can be improved. i requested for a queen size bed as stated in the website, but i was given beds that were pushed together to appear as 1 superking bed but that causes a wood barrier on the middle to disturb our sleep. its close to the main kuta attractions but not walking distance, you'll get muscle sore. but its a good option if you prefer a quieter area yet still in town. btw, the hotel starts to age.. so little bit of bed bug problem...overall not bad.
- Rahul (8/5): Bali Solaris - Best transit hotel. Nice location but breakfast can be improved.
- Fabio (4/5): Run down and staff played along with rip off - Got ripped off by taxi driver and staff from reception even played along with him. Payed 100.000 IDR from airport (2km). Reception staff confirmed it would be that expensive. Ride the other day 28km costs 106.000 IDR...
Shower was dirty. AC didn't work properly. Tiles in bathroom were coming off. Pillows dirty and when we rand the reception for exchange they said yes but no one ever came. Second call they said maybe the next day we could get new ones.
Breakfast was okay but little fruit. Only one toaster for 15 people.
Coffee was okay though.
- Terry (6/5): Budget hotel - considerable for budget travelers.
Need to training night time shift employee on front desk.
- Zealand (10/5): Great stay for a great price! - Great bargain for the price. You get way more than what you pay for.
- Verified traveler (8/5): For the price great value - Stayed for 3 weeks and was more than happy. close to the beach and with everything you need close by
- Ronny E (6/5): Accommodation was ok for the price. Beyond that .. - Stayed for 3 days. Arrived rather early (8:00 am). While check-in is supposed to be at 2:00 pm, they allowed us to check in at about 11:00 am. Nice..
Hotel was ok given the price. But many things could be improved.
Location was excellent - only a few minutes walk from the beach and the shops. Many street foods nearby. Beach was filthy (disappointing), full of trash, plastic items, etc.
We have to ask for toiletries everyday as the attendants always forget. The room was not cleaned. We could see some kind of stains on top of the coffee top, that must have been there even before us as it was sticky. It was not cleaned during our stay. Cleaning of room was minimal, at best superficial.
Contrary to many comments that it is excellent, breakfast was not worth taking as no doubt we have to pay for it.
- Zealand (10/5): Great place to stay - Excellent hotel absolute bargain. I will always recommend Solaris.
- GEOFFREY (2/5): Never again - Terrible - never again
- nadiah (2/5): The rating has drop not like it used to be - I stayed there before once 4 years back the hotel service and cleanliness was perfect but now when I went there I regretted going back to the same hotel it was one terrible experience as I also had kids and the rooms were Super dirty with stains on the beds, Dusty and toilets was smelly. I hope people don’t book this place as even the food of the hotels were bad. Some of the staff even can’t talk English properly. Only some of the staff had a smiling face.
- tim (8/5): - Nice and close to the airport with plenty of places around it or short taxi to other end of kuta value for money
- Steven (8/5): - Nice place, not big, but it’s comfortable, close to everything you need but far enough away that your not in those high traffic, claustrophobic areas associated with Kuta!
And only two minutes from the beach
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great value - Pleasant. Relaxing
- renato (10/5): Great - It has always been good I love it
- trish (8/5): Always a comfortable stay for a modest price - I have stayed at Solaris Kuta many times now, the perfect landing pad, or departure, as it's so close to the airport. The experience is always pleasant.
I left my phone charger behind only to find it waiting for me a couple of days later.
- andy (8/5): Good value, handy location. - Maybe needs a bit more attention to detail. Cleaning supervisor needs to take charge of staff and ensure compliance.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not worth it needs improvement to attract clients - Was a reasonable stay as regards to location & restaurants The Solaris hotel.appears mantaineance up keeping The rooms are old shower not hot toiletries awful towels need new ones air con in one of the family rooms leaking onto floor But the stall were all so helpful pleasant Seeing there are abandon hotels for any budget I would hunt for a better bargain Housekeeping never gave us fresh towels nor toiletries nor even dispose of our empty cans
- Wally (8/5): Value for money - nice short stay for 3 nights
- Chih (6/5): Low budget - It’s a good choice when you have not much budget and want to stay longer in Bali.
- Dan (8/5): Good location, close to beach, dining, and airport - Great inexpensive hotel in Kuta, AC worked great, blackout curtains helped recouperate from long flight. Quiet (with he AC running). Clean with good service, wifi adequate. Note: this room is small comparative to American rooms, but sufficient size especially for the solo traveler. If a nice pool is your thing, this may not be the room for you, also the rain shower head did not work, but hand-held got the job done just fine. Good value IMO, would definitely stay there again.
- Sarah (4/5): There is cheap and then there is cheap and nasty! - We chose to stay at the Solaris for an 8 day trip, yes it was cheap and we could deal with that but at least be clean!
The sheets were stained as were the towels and bath mats, the rooms were cleaned daily but didn't have that fresh feeling!
When we checked in, we weren't shown into our room and the staff couldn't really be bothered to say Hello which was very unlike any hotel I have ever stayed in.
It's such a shame because this hotel actually has potential to be a nice little hotel but it just needs to be clean!!
We checked out 4 days early and went and stayed in a much nicer hotel.
Solaris please upgrade your linen! We don't really like sleeping in other people's stains!
- craig (8/5): Nice hotel expensive bar but clean and quiet. - Have stayes at solaris before will definatly stay there again excellent value for money. Bar is expansive but overall had a great experience.
- izzy (8/5): - We had a lovely stay in solaris the hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast was lovely. great start to our trip in Bali as very convenient for the airport.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean and quiet hotel - rest is pretty scarce and especially the breakfast offering / good for a quick stopover
- deb (8/5): Short weekend trip - Booked this hotel as was excellent price. You can walk to beach 2 min. Walk to discovery 10 min. Good massage shop across the road. The room was big enough for 2 friends in twin bed with a Rv, and lounge suit in the room bathroom was good size. It is not 5 star but clean and roomy. Pool down stairs with a bar next to it. They have a restaurant which we did not use. Ask the staff for something and they will get it for you.
The thing Theo did not think was good was no face wash cloth. Other than that if you are looking for cheap hotel that is newish this fits the box
Enjoyed our time there and would stay again
- Irene (8/5): Walking distance to Lipo Mall. - Pleasant stay. The staffs are really smiley and friendly. Room is a bit tired. But for the price we pay, I find it acceptable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Value for money. The hotel is well located in Kuta area, near to the Discovery and Lippo malls. Many options for good food near by. Easy to reach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Had a good stay at Solaris. The room was spacious, but not very clean. The sheets were dirty and had stains and the restroom sink could of used some cleaning. The service was good. The pool and food were great. Very close to the airport and about a five minute walk to a shopping mall. I only stayed there for two nights, so it was good. The wifi worked very well.
- marie (8/5): Amazing Staff - We had a lovely stay. When you arrive they help you with your bags. The rooms were nice and cool as soon as you walked in along woth complimentry water. They offered an all you can eat breakfast for a very good price. Location was next to the beach and roughly a 20 to 30 minute walk to all the shops and kuta beach. Also the bed was extremely comfortable for those who prefer a soft mattress.
- Verified traveler (10/5): dollar for dollar best hotel around - Stayed at a lot of high priced hotels this killed them all enough said
- Carmen (10/5): Comfy bed ! - Comfy bed, nice quiet location, good breakfast. Great price. Will stay here again!
- Zealand (10/5): Worth every penny!!! - Great service strong wifi and awesome aircon. Price is fantastic, great hotel.
- J (6/5): Could do better - Airport transport was an hour later, the driver had our flight time as an houe later.
Bathroom could have been cleaner.
AC took too long to cool the room.
Breakfast omelette was very small.
- Jukka K (8/5): - Nice quiet place, no view from window but perfect for transit. Clean and good service.
- Ganavi (8/5): - Gud hospitality and quality
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad but need be careful - I lost exactly million rupiah and when asked to check the camera the camera focusing my room not working
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable and easy access - Great experience to stay around this hotel and mostly we enjoy sleep peacefully.
- Adele (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Had a really nice stay. Was welcomed by the friendly staff. Would stay again.
Not far from the airport at all, the taxi service charged me 150 from the airport. When I got the hotel they told me I could get it for 50.
- Sunil (8/5): convinient - Good
- Thatguyinoz (6/5): Located close to Waterbom park - Hotel Solaris is located quite close to Waterbom park, Lippo Mall and other department store type shopping. It's rates are reasonable and the rooms were clean and tidy, if a little worn. Showers were fine. Rooms were a little small but quite OK. The air conditioning was only just able to keep up with the temperature and humidity and probably need repair or replacement soon.
Breakfast was a reasonable selection and well made.
Staff were all very helpful and polite. The pool is fine for swimming laps but not suitable for young children.
We stayed here based on its proximity to Waterbom and didnt spend much time in the hotel except to sleep and prepare for our day.
- blackers (8/5): A convenient short stay - Close to airport staff are very friendly
Just a short walk to beach and twenty minutes away from all the main attractions in Kuta
Thank you staff for your servicw
- renato (10/5): - My stay at the Solaris was amazing people and the staff was great very friwndsly and happy always willing to help
- trish (8/5): A friendly, well located hotel - I have stayed at Solaris a number of times, usually at the start or end of my holiday due to its location near the airport and access to Kuta shopping such as Lippo Mall and Discovery. It offers great value and the staff are always helpful and friendly.
- erwin (8/5): - walking distance to kuta beach bali, 10 minutes driving from airport
- Laura (6/5): Nice hotel - We only booked to stay a few hours before having to leave. Needed a taxi to get back into the hub of Kuta. Staff were helpful and it was an ok place to stay before flight home, though air conditioner was leaking a fair bit in room. Probably wouldn't stay in for entire trip would want something more central but done the job to rest up in before our flight home.
- Sandra (6/5): Friendly & Reasonable - Chose this because of location - close to airport. Loved the pool. Breakfast amazing and worth pre-booking. It's a low-budget hotel so don't expect pristine rooms, etc. Staff were so very, very helpful.
- liz (6/5): Get what you pay for - Great location for kuta users, very simple, small room, had the essentials.
- fred (8/5): Good cheap compact room. Good meals - The hotel staff and taxi service was helpful to help me get to the shopping areas and my tours
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice break - Good hotel staff.
Walk to beach. Far to kuta , legion, but walkable.
- karen (8/5): Near airport - Lovely 4 days.
Great staff.
Massages in-house and in neighborhood.
Quieter than kuta proper.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nicely located to the airport - Nice hotel close to beaches and airport, staff is friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome stay - Was convenient to explore Kuta, to get to and fro airport, to head to the beach and the store right opposite Solaris hotel offered great local and international fair! Awesome hotel staff too. Offered to order taxi, helped to look after luggage when I arrived too early and room wasn't ready yet, smiley staff all around, also offered to help send post card.
Enjoyable and affordable stay. No need fancier hotels to give u such a good memory of Bali!
- chris (10/5): Awesome - Really enjoy my staying there for 27 days 😜..Solaris stuff is really helpful..thanks to juni,Yuni ,Ryan , you guys doing awesome jobs..thanks
- Marie (6/5): Cheap and Cheerful - Low cost and extremely friendly, helpful staff.
Room was upgraded on arrival (a nice touch, was not requested). Unfortunately the room was smelly as the bathroom fan did not work and loud. The linen had stains on it and the pillow was very firm. I ended up placing a pillowcase on a softer cushion to be comfortable.
Breakfast was buffet-style with limited continental food options. Dinner had the same barbeque sauce on each of the western dishes, regardless of the option selected.
Swimming pool was over-filled so each time a user moved in the water, water would splash over the edge, disturbing anyone lying on the lounges.
- Vicki (4/5): Great staff - Hotel maybe ok for overnight stay but no longer. Too cramped overall. Booked for 5 nights, stayed 1.
