• Margit (8/5): - Das Hotel ist zwar in die Jahre gekommen, aber hat schon einen gewissen Charme. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Anfahrt ist etwas schwierig, teilweise sehr enge Straßen. Das Restaurant ist sehr teuer, aber leider ist kein anderes Restaurant in der Nähe, das fußläufig zu erreichen ist.

Staying in a historic villa was an unforgettable experience. The entire place is filled with history and charm, creating a special ambiance that makes you feel connected to the past. • Briblof (5/5): A hotel that is deteriorating - Location is perfect besides the fact that it is far from the city center. There is no shuttle bus offered by the hotel to go to the city center, you need a cab which costs around 20€ each way. Despite the high price, they gave us a room that was adapted for disabled people (good thing it exists) but it was not functional for us, espthe bathroom where we couldn't not perform our personal needs. Besides that we asked some french fries for our child which was 10€ and they added 25€ as a change for room service and this was scandalous for us.

• Nada (10/5): Best stay in Florence - Villa Tolomei was a happy surprise for all of us when we arrived. The apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It really deserves 10. The staff are great especially Dina who took great care of us when we were enjoying the great breakfast they offer. A tiny advice,,to reach the location don't follow the GPS, follow the instructions they send you. We will definitely choose no where else in our next visit to Florence. No internet connection in the rooms in our apartment. But it is good to disconnect sometimes

While the estate itself is undeniably grand, it’s the exceptional staff that truly elevate the experience. From the attentive front desk to the meticulous housekeeping team, every detail is handled with care and warmth. The breakfast spread is generous and diverse, catering to all tastes. We’ve been loyal guests for years, and there’s no doubt we’ll be back again.
• Paula (9/5): Wonderful! - Staff were so friendly and attentive. Daniel was so helpful and welcoming. As were the reception staff. So helpful getting recommendations. Food was beautiful and everything was so clean Bed could have been more comfortable. Just a bit hollow in the middle.

The masseuse was a very nice person and accommodated us even though there was hardly any time available. Unfortunately we could only get a foot massage due to lack of time, but next time I am sure it will be better.

• Hollie (9/5): Wonderful property on the fringe of Florence. - Wonderful customer service, especially from the lady that checked us in and our porter. (I can’t remember their names) The receptionist was of Asian heritage and she was incredibly professional and genuinely wanted to assist when needed. She is an asset to the resort. Not being told about a wedding party the night that I made a dinner reservation. It’s important to let other hotel guests know if there is a private function and that the restaurant (with the fabulous views) won’t be available/limited during that time.

• Jacqueline (4/5): Over-priced and over-rated! - It’s location - 30-40 mins from Florence on foot was great. The view from the restaurant was fantastic, Breakfast was lovely. The pool was great. Over-priced for very poor customer service. We chose it specifically as there was a laundry service and we would have been travelling a week by the time we got there. When we enquired about getting our clothes washed, we were told that they didn’t do that in August as ‘everyone goes to the beach!’ We decided to treat ourselves to a meal in the restaurant. We knew it would be pricey but it cost a fortune for practically no food! Thank goodness the view was so amazing! We ordered 2 limoncello spritzes each to unwind by the pool and assumed we’d pay similar to everywhere else we’d been in Italy that week ie around 7 euros each. (No prices were displayed.) When we checked out, we were flabbergasted to be charged 80 euros!!! We tried to protest but were told we’d signed the chitty (before being told the prices) so we had no cause for complaint!!! If this is what 5 star restaurants are like, we won’t be visiting any more any time soon.

We cannot wait to return. - Our stay at Villa Tolomei for my nephew’s wedding was extraordinary from start to finish. Everything—from the accommodations to the wedding venue—was impeccably handled with an attention to detail that made the entire experience seamless and unforgettable. What touched us most was the care shown to my 87-year-old mother. My sister and her family arrived earlier in the week, and throughout their stay the staff watched over her with the kindness and attentiveness of family. That level of genuine hospitality is rare, and it meant the world to us. The wedding itself was nothing short of magical. The cocktail hour, dinner, and reception were beautifully curated, with a setting that captured the timeless charm of Florence and the Tuscan countryside. There was truly nothing to dislike—only gratitude for such a perfect experience.
• johnrG3449BP (10/5): Majestic Property & Great Hospitality from Villa Tolomei and its team - This is an amazing property to stay & relax, outside the Florence ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) with great views and amble parking. When we got there on a Sat evening they had a wedding function, and the property was very lively. We got a great room but unfortunately, we had some AC icing and dripping problems during the night. Daniel our host with the help of the manager, Ukiko were very quick and efficient in making the necessary arrangements for a room change the next day. Daniel being a hospitality guru with the help of Jeff, Mari and many other great team members made our whole visit an outstanding experience. Daniel is an amazing host as he really understands hospitality. He made sure we had a great experience throughout our stay. The area where breakfast was served and the choices included in the buffet were outstanding. Florence is accessible via taxi with a quick 15 - 20 min ride to the Piazza del Duomo for instance. We found Villa Tomei to be a great base for us from where we were able to drive to our Sienna, Livorno San Gimignano, and other excursions around Florence. Great experience, amazing property, outstanding hospitality by the team, great food and drinks ……at this beautiful Boutique Villa setting.

• Jan (7/5): Luxe kamers goede locatie maar verder niet blijven eten en drinken. - Locatie is top en personeel vriendelijk maar de prijslijst van de horeca slaat nergens op. 12 euro voor een prosecco of 10 euro voor een flesje bier of 30 euro voor een club sandwich is absurd en wij zijn dus buiten het hotel gaan eten. Het hotel adviseert je om met de taxie naar Florence te gaan maar verzuimen er bij te vermelden dat je dan daarna geen taxie terug kunt vinden. Ja een überhaupt die jou voor 50 euro terug wil brengen. De WiFi op de kamer is ook niet altijd even betrouwbaar.

• Sandra (10/5): Peaceful retreat - We stayed in the apartment. Which is a short walk from the main building, between the olive grove and vineyard. It was so peaceful. We opened the window in the morning to watch deer grazing, and sneaking into the vineyard. The breakfast buffet has a great selection. With no car, a taxi into Florence is about 25e. Taking the bus is a great option but it doesn't run on Sunday. The Villa has the nicest bathrobes you'll find. Service is outstanding.

Leider keine Ausweichmöglichkeiten im Umkreis von 4 km (Stadtgebiet, Parkplatznot ).

Hotel wärmstens zu empfehlen. - Auf meiner 10-tägigen Reise durch Italien mit mehreren Aufenthalten in diversen Hotels und mehreren Ortschaften, war dieses Hotel das mit Abstand am besten. Ohne wenn und aber hat sich hier das Hotel meine höchste Bewertung verdient! Als ich vor dem Hotel stand und am rauchen war, fuhr ein Angestellter mit seinem Roller nach Hause und verabschiedete sich während der Fahrt freundlich von mir. Das Personal ist im allgemeinen sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die gesamte Anlage ist sauber. Das Essen war eines der besten überhaupt. Der Parkplatz war kostenlos und wenn ich ein Taxt bestellte, war es innert 5min da. Folglich gibt es keinen einzigen negativen Punkt über dieses Hotel. Ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen und ich bedanke mich für diesen tollen Aufenthalt!

• NewlywedNJ (10/5): Great spot to stay and explore Florence and Tuscany - I was looking for a hotel with free parking and free breakfast very close to the city of Florence. This is it! 20 minute walk (or quick taxi) to Florence. It’s on a hilly spot away from the crowds. Wonderful breakfast. Nice pool with a great view. Free parking! Big rooms. Just south of the city so we were able to drive and explore the Tuscan countryside.

• 677mihaelam (6/5): Outdated - Beautiful location outside Florence with great views over the town. There is a narrow road to the hotel with one car at a time driving space. One has to be a very good driver to manage all the hassle involved (reversing, driving very close to the walls, etc). Our room was large but in poor condition: the AC was making a terrible noise, the toilet's water tank kept jamming, there were cracks in the walls, the furniture was worn out, the walls were dirty and badly needing some paint. There is zero sound proof, one can,at all times,hear what the neighbours are doing. Our room had no hair dryer, no iron or ironing table, etc. We had to keep asking for basic stuff during our stay, luckily the staff were very attentive and kind. Early morning there is a laundry collection/delivery truck and if your room is on that side of the hotel, you will jump off the bed thinking the building is collapsing...The trolleys make a scary noise when dragged along the uneven pavement. It is obvious this hotel was a gem at some point in time but now is just a shadow of what it used to be: the chandeliers have been replaced by tacky oversized paper looking lamps, the classic paintings have been replaced by some tastless/ disturbing modern art, the boss constantly walks around with arrogance and desgust on his face. He doesn't bother to smile or greet the guests and most mornings he sits alone in the breakfast area at the biggest table available...The so called spa is a tiny depressing room in the basement which one can reach by passing through the tiny gym...(and the other way around if one enters from the pool area). The highlight of our experience was the staff: the ones working hard to keep the place together. 10 points to the breakfast staff, 10 points to the cleaners and 10 points to the caretakers around the pool and green areas. They have done their utmost to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They've even offered a complimentary glass of juice to my niece when they noticed she felt sick after being in the swimming pool.

• TR (9/5): Paisible et proche du centre de Florence. - L’hôtel était excellent, nous avons pris un appartement spacieux pour notre famille composée de 5 personnes. Le petit déjeuner inclus était exquis avec un service attentionné. Nous avions une voiture louée. La conduite pour les 5 dernières minutes était risquée car les chemins sons étroits de deux voies.
• Alex (10/5): Villa Tolomei - The resort is in a beautiful setting, surrounded by countryside but still only a 30 minute walk downhill into the city centre. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and accommodating, and the room itself was perfect and clean. The breakfast every morning was fantastic, very grateful for the gluten free selection, and the view from the restaurant over the countryside made it even better. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay for even a few days, it's location and quality I think would be hard to be beaten for Florence. Only only thing maybe would be for no loud music by the pool for the whole day, otherwise we could not find a fault.

• Fabrice (9/5): calme et beauté aux portes de Florence - Villa florentine ancienne de charme, bénéficiant d'une position surplombante à couper le souffle, aux portes de Florence, et somme toute avec un bon rapport qualité-prix. Un tel cadre et le calme qui va avec, à ± 1 km du palais Pitti, c'est rare. Dans le cas présent, je ne vois pas bien l'intérêt du système des étoiles (cependant nécessaire pour rassurer les gogos). On ne peut comparer un 5 étoiles dans la campagne historique de Florence avec un 5 étoiles à Francfort, Tokyo, ou Atlanta. Je préfère de loin celles de la villa Tolomei aux autres. Ajoutons-y pour faire bonne mesure une piscine immense très agréable après les visites dans cette ville étouffante. Je mets au défi d'en trouver une pareille dans un hôtel de Florence dans la même gamme de prix. Le restaurant au demeurant excellent bénéficie de la belle vue mais la carte est très limitée et les prix sont exagérés, comme le prix des consommations autour de la piscine
• Scala (6/5): personale eccellente, location incantevole, ma la struttura meriterebbe una revisione tecnica - Abbiamo soggiornato due notti a Villa Tolomei, una struttura affascinante e storica immersa nella bellezza di Firenze. Come spesso accade con le strutture storiche, però, avrebbe bisogno di una maggiore manutenzione per rispecchiare pienamente le 5 stelle dichiarate. La nostra esperienza è iniziata con una stanza in cui l’aria condizionata, anche al massimo, sembrava più un ventilatore che un climatizzatore. Il personale, sempre disponibile e cortese, si è subito attivato per trovarci un’alternativa. La seconda stanza aveva un’aria condizionata funzionante, ma problemi con lo scarico del bagno. Anche in questo caso il manutentore è intervenuto prontamente, ma il problema si è ripresentato. Alla fine, grazie all’efficienza e alla professionalità di Glassano e Daniel, siamo stati trasferiti in una terza stanza, molto confortevole, e tutto è andato per il meglio. A loro va un ringraziamento speciale: la loro attenzione al cliente è da vera struttura a 5 stelle.
• Andreas (10/5): - Traumhafte Lage! Gutes Frühstück! Großer Pool mit Ausblick auf Florenz! Wir haben abends im Restaurant gegessen, super Service, leckeres Essen! Da es sich um ein altes, historisches Gebäude handelt, welches liebevoll umgebaut wurde, sind die Zimmer hellhörig.

• W. Böttge (7/5): - Ein schönes eingerichtetes Haus. Der Swimmingpool war gesperrt da er umgebaut wurde. Dies teilte man uns am Anreisetag mit. Es finden Veranstaltungen statt und man findet teilweise keinen Parkplatz.
• Joanna (9/5): - Sehr gutes Frühstück, toller Pool mit Ausblick und auch schöne Lage etwas außerhalb der Stadt. Ins Zentrum sind wir immer zu Fuß gegangen ca. 20 min und dort gab es gleich mehrere nette Restaurants und Eissalons. Fitnessbereich ist klein, aber fein.

Arrived and was ignored for over an hour by staff and asked 5 times for someone to come take our order (hotel was empty) Paying €280 for the facilities it started to rain and we was told we can’t use the facilities (which we had paid for) - we waited for a hour and the staff seemed clueless and we eventually left the venue as we was not waiting around doing nothing Contacted the hotel/company used to book the day pass and was ignored for a week with a blunt email back refusing a refund Avoid avoid avoid
