- Prossyyoung (10/5): Exceptional Service, Stunning Views & The cleanest Pool I’ve Ever Experienced - My stay at the InterContinental Osaka was absolutely exceptional from beginning to end. The hotel itself is stunning, especially being on the top floor where you can enjoy breathtaking views across nearly the whole of Osaka. It truly feels luxurious the moment you arrive. The breakfast & dinner was outstanding with a huge variety of high-quality selections, and the entire restaurant team were warm, attentive, and professional. The reception team also deserve special praise multilingual, welcoming, and always smiling genuinely while helping guests with every detail. However, the highlight of my stay was definitely the swimming pool and spa area. I have stayed in many 5-star properties around the world, but the cleanliness of the pool here was on another level. You can genuinely feel how fresh and clean the water is. I also appreciated the Japanese attention to hygiene and detail, especially the no-shoes policy around the pool area. It was honestly the cleanest pool experience I have ever had, and I absolutely loved it. A very special thank you as well to the housekeeping team, who were absolutely marvellous. The room was always perfectly clean, and I really appreciated the thoughtful handwritten notes they left for us every day. Their attention to detail and care made the stay feel very personal and special. I was also extremely grateful that the hotel accommodated me with a late checkout due to my very late flight back to London. Even though I paid for the extension, the team handled everything with kindness and professionalism, which I truly appreciated Thank you to everyone who made this stay so memorable especially Kopila, Adnan, Gerard, Sunita and Ramila. - natapolm (10/5): Great stay in a great location when in Osaka in our honest opinion. - Intercontinental Osaka (ICO) provided us a home away from home when we visited Osaka. The hotel is a nice quiet sanctuary that’s a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of the Umeda/Osaka station. The service provided was top notch. The ICO staff helped us out to meet our requests making our stay more comfortable. The concierge desk also provided us with tips to navigate Osaka’s attractions and shopping spots. We would gladly stay here again on our next visit to Osaka.

As this was my first visit to Osaka and to Japan, I appreciated the incredible hospitality of the staff and all of the help they provided. Additionally the room itself was gorgeous. I especially appreciated the marbled and mirrored surfaces in the bathroom, the standalone tub and rain shower head, and the luxury toiletries provided, including Byredo products. The lighting was serene and versatile, and the window shades were adjustable electronically. Every convenience was thoughtfully provided. It felt like a true luxury stay and made me not even want to leave my hotel room! I also appreciated the beautiful views from the bar and lounge. Enjoying a drink at a corner table in the bar on my first night overlooking the sparkling city lights was nothing short of magic. Thank you, intercontinental IHG for the most memorable introduction to Osaka and to Japan. I will most certainly be back again.

From check-in to check-out, we were sincerely blown away by the level of care across each and every department. Special mention to the gentlemen who checked us in, I regret that I lost his card but I think his name began with Tazu (?). His wonderful assistance as we arrived set the tone for our stay! Also the welcoming team downstairs who swept in and took our bags as we arrived and had them to our room so quickly and efficiently! Wow. Thank you. Every aspect of customer comfort has been anticipated and absolutely nothing is too much trouble. From all of the facilities to all of the people, we would not change a thing! Room was large and the location is central to all major shopping places/brands. It next to the station so the made our trip very convenient to explore. The smell when entering the hotel was amazing. The scent and view made our time spent here so memorable and luxurious. Since the reception is on the 20th floor, the place/Our room higher floors was very quiet and felt very private. Will definitely come back again. Hope to enjoy this experience again.

So easy to access the train station and-shopping/restaurants, Starbucks and seven eleven etc… the pool, fitness, wellness and bath house were fabulous. The food served at the 360 bar and restaurant was exceptional! A special thanks to Adrian at the reception check in who was so friendly, attentive and efficient with our check in and check out process. I can’t wait to return.
- myexperiencewas0 (6/5): 4 star at Best? - There is a particular sadness reserved for brands that once understood 5 star luxury and have since fallen into the care of people who seem to regard standards as an optional extra. InterContinental Osaka is one of those places. It is not a disaster in the vulgar sense, which would at least show some energy. It is something worse: a grand old name drifting lazily on reputation while the details, those tiny and crucial proofs of care, quietly rot at the edges. Whilst the check-in was handled well (Vladimir), breakfast was an example of unmasking. The restaurant had the unmistakable air of a room that has stopped being loved. The furnishings were tired, the chairs were fraying, bits hanging loose in a way that suggested nobody senior had looked at them properly in months, and the bases of the breakfast tables were stained and strewn with crumbs from dinner or yesterday’s breakfast, even, which is the sort of thing one notices immediately when a hotel insists on charging luxury prices. It is also the sort of thing that tells you, in an instant, how the day is going to go. Though the restaurant was nearly empty, I was placed on a table jammed into the corner beside the waiters’ station instead of by the window, as though one had committed some social crime simply by arriving for breakfast. Coffee took fifteen minutes to appear. When my wife joined me, hers never came at all. And one sat there, as one so often does in declining luxury hotels, wondering not merely whether anybody cared, but whether anybody had noticed that caring was once the entire business model. The buffet was, in every sense, exhausted. The food itself was average, but average in a way that felt complacent rather than unfortunate. The presentation looked as though it had been borrowed from a business hotel buffet of ten years ago, preserved in the amber of managerial indifference. The beans were cold. The chef, rather than giving the impression of stewardship or attention, was seen leaning against the wall, which may not be a crime in law, but is not ideal symbolism in a breakfast room already pleading guilty to neglect. Elsewhere, the tone did not improve. At departure, despite there being three bell staff on shift, my wife and I carried our own luggage all the way to the car. This is not some microscopic complaint from the overpampered. It is a basic service marker for a hotel trading under the InterContinental name. If three bell staff can watch guests carry their own bags without embarrassment or intervention, then no staffing issue is being witnessed. One is witnessing a cultural issue. The Michelin-starred restaurant was nothing short of a hotel's drive to get the accolade, but it didn't deliver on the basics of a good meal. Gerad, the Director of F&B, made multiple promises and suggestions but unfortunately didn't deliver on any of them. The room, to be fair, tried harder than the public spaces. At first glance, it seemed well-appointed, and the minibar in particular had been stocked with enough thought to suggest that somewhere in the building there are still people who remember what standards look like. But then one tried to live in the room, which is always the true test of hotel design, and the illusion began to buckle. For a room with many lights, it was curiously dim. Not moody, not atmospheric, just badly lit. For anyone who actually needs to read, particularly a guest who wears glasses, it was absurdly impractical. The labels on the light switches were hard to read, and the shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom were similarly illegible in the gloom. The toothbrush in the room was stupid to put it mildly, falling apart in my mouth. I was left with a mouthful of bristles and uncleaned teeth. Form over function, it appears. These are not rarefied complaints. This is not a tantrum about thread count or orchid placement. These are the basics. If a luxury hotel cannot help a guest see the things it expects him to use, then it is failing in the plainest possible way. Even the front office at check-out seemed to have lost faith in the act. The staff wore what appeared to be Paul Smith suits, but they hung badly, looked stained, and seemed badly in need of pressing or dry cleaning. One does not expect Savile Row perfection at a hotel desk, but one does expect staff not to look as though they have slept in the uniform during a difficult divorce. Appearance matters because presentation is part of the promise. Luxury is theatre, yes, but it is theatre that depends upon everyone remembering their lines and costumes. Here, the costume department seemed to have given up. And that, in the end, is the overwhelming impression InterContinental Osaka leaves behind: not rage, not scandal, not even the lurid incompetence of a truly dreadful hotel. Rather, a profound and dispiriting sense that nobody is minding the standard. The brand still speaks in the voice of prestige, but the property answers in the accent of decline. InterContinental was once one of the world's great hotel names. On this showing, I would not put it in the top five now. Not remotely. This hotel is four-star at best, and even that feels more like a charitable memory than a present reality. C’est la vie.

To start with we were offered an early check in which was most welcome and as soon as we entered our room our bags were waiting for us. The rooms are outstanding, incredibly spacious and offering great views of the city. Beds were very comfortable and the in room bath gave us some much needed relief from the 25000+ steps we were doing everyday. Location wise is great, just a short walk from Osaka-Umeda station with plenty of shops in the vicinity. Staff are very friendly and approachable and would always greet you when arriving or leaving the each day. A truly great stay, and look forward to hopefully coming back some day!
- Extraordinary447387 (10/5): Spectacular service and prime location - I recently stayed at the property with my husband as our first time in Japan and wanted to write a raving review and letter of praise for the service we experienced. The attention and service we received from Kana Uesugi was a prime example of exemplary dedication and what every hotel stay should feel like. I would come back to Osaka just to stay at this hotel and recommend it to all my peers just based on how well she attended us and how helpful she was from the moment we checked in to the moment we left to the hotel. She left no question unanswered, went out of her way to ensure we were taken care of, and even put thought into the fact that trip was to celebrate my birthday. I’ve traveled the world and stayed at many notable properties but my experience at this hotel and with Kana were memorable and I hope management recognizes her dedication.

- Tim (10/5): This Place is Amazing! - Dear lord, by far one of the best stays my family and I have ever experienced. Everything from the moment we got out of the taxi to when we left was tailor-made hospitality. We booked a beautiful suite with an amazing view of the sunrise and came with a delightful bottle of red wine and snacks. Breakfast buffet was spectacular and appears to change daily with koshihikari rice. They have a rather large pool with swimsuit rentals available and one of the largest hotel gyms in Osaka. The hotel itself is attached to the north side of Grand Front Osaka which is connected to LUCUA and subsequently Osaka station itself. It's near a sizeable Donki and shopping street making a center for all of the shopping you could hope to do which my parents enjoyed greatly. I highly recommend checking out Umeda Sky Tower at night. It's like a 6 minute walk from the hotel. Go a bit earlier and you'll be able to check out the underground area styled in the showa era of Japan with plenty of little restaurants as well. Toward the end of our stay we were figuring out transportation for our luggage and the concierge was able to find and arrange for us a less costly and more comfortable mode of transport for us which was highly appreciated! All in all this is the first IHG hotel I've stayed at and my impression is overwhelmingly positive; I will absolutely come again and check out what experiences the other intercontinental have to offer! The wifi is free and high speed with a free IHG account, I think it's free without it as well though? The baths and sauna lockers are a bit complicated to use

Special shout out to Masaya K and Mizuma who scrambled around to get us after hours dinner while at the Adee bar after we just missed the main restaurant closing. Their effort was off the charts appreciated. Hotel is centrally located with food and shops in the building, convenient to train lines.

- kangelini (8/5): Great and comfortable stay - We enjoyed our stay, and we loved the apartment style rooms they have in the Residence section of the hotel, which are very suitable for families. We had a two bedroom residence room which was perfect for our young family. The staff at the reception, concierge and coffee shop are all delightful and helpful. Location of the hotel is good, within Umeda area and close to JR Osaka, Grand Front, Daimaru, etc. Plenty of shops, good food, etc. all nearby. We had dinner in the hotel coffee shop one night and it was very enjoyable too. We're very happy with our stay, and we'll come back. This review would easily have been 5 stars, just wanted to share a couple of points that could have made the difference. The dialogue with the reservations team prior to arrival was awful. This was after we had already made and they were informing us that a number of things were not possible. They were very unhelpful and had an awful attitude. It was so different from the attitude we saw from reception and front desk (who were all excellent). Therefore, we arrived to the hotel with extremely low expectations and prepared for the worst. Perhaps the Concierge could share some better suggestions. The staff at Concierge are all delightful and helpful, although: 1. Once they recommended a restaurant in Grand Front but the entire Grand Front was closed for the day 2. When asking for a family friendly restaurant, they recommended a fish restaurant that only does course meals. This took a long time and our child was restless after waiting so long for the course meal. Also the restaurant had no child highchair. (The meal was very very good though. Restaurant "Ginpei" is excellent and you should go and try if you don't have young kids...the fish is wonderful) 3. Struggled to give us recommendation for lunch in Nara. I understand part of the appeal of Nara is to walk and look around. But with two seniors and one toddler in our group, it would have been nice to have a direction to walk towards for lunch.
- Gabriela (10/5): Luxury hotel with excellent location, in a mall and very near to Osaka Station - The hotel was simply beautiful. Gorgeous lobby, restaurant, and rooms. Very clean and well appointed. The hotel is always in a mall and a few steps from Osaka Station. There is a ton of things to do in the area. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms so pretty! Having a shower/bath there felt luxurious. All the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and helped us. We will definitely be back.
- lprisr (10/5): A Golden 50th Birthday at the InterContinental Osaka - As a IHG member, I truly felt valued from the moment I stepped into the lobby. They went so far out of their way to celebrate my big 50th birthday that I felt a smile on my face before I even reached my room. With the constant birthday wishes, and the delightful stream of surprise offers and upgrades for my IHG member status, the team here really made me feel like royalty. Beyond the generous room upgrade, the extra birthday cookies and drinks waiting in my room made me feel special. The premium room was flawless. It was incredibly spacious and designed with a sophisticated touch that felt high-end yet cozy, never cold or "banal". The location is ideal—just a short walk from Osaka Station. While the station itself is a maze, the hotel is easily accessible via the Grand Front Osaka (South to North buildings) by following the overhead walkways. Breakfast was bustling but high-quality. I look forward to the made-to-order omelets and lattes alongside the extensive buffet every day. The cocktails are great, especially during the happy hour with drinks at a reasonable price, and the hostesses and servers are the stars. They took the time to chat with me about my travels, making me feel right at home. The 4th-floor Onsen and Spa is a worth a visit. Since the guest elevators don’t go directly to the spa, you do have to walk across the main lobby. I was a little nervous about the etiquette of wearing the provided Yukata and slippers, but the concierge reassured me that it was ok. The hotel itself is stunning, as you’d expect from the InterContinental brand. But it was the genuine kindness and heart of the staff that turned a "hotel stay" into a milestone memory. I can't thank them enough for making my 50th so special!

- James (9/5): Great staff and facilities, good location and comfortable and clean room! - We travelled with our 2.5 year old, the staff were all very nice to her, included a little kids sponge every day and even the room cleaners noticed she disconnected the phone and setup her own little desk at the window, and they left it as is! The pool and gym facilities were maintained and cleaned really well, allowing us to decompress after a day exploring The distance from the station when looking at the map is a little deceptive, it is a decent walk each day but still very doable!

I especially appreciated the swimming pool with lap lanes and the Japanese bath. It's a bit confusing as the really lobby is on the 20th floor, then another elevator takes you to your room but once we figured that out--along with overpasses to avoid the streets in cold weather--there was plenty to do and eat in the neighborhood too. Be sure to request pajamas with your turn-down service!
- farranatalea (10/5): Wonderful Winter Stay - We stayed at InterContinental Osaka from 17–24 January 2026 and honestly had a great experience from start to finish. When we arrived, everything felt very smooth. There was a concierge waiting in the lobby who brought us up to reception, and check-in was quick and easy. After a long journey, it was nice that nothing felt rushed or chaotic. We booked a 2-bedroom residence with a city view for four people, and the room really exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious, especially compared to most hotels in Japan. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the living and dining areas were comfortable and practical for our stay. The city view was beautiful, particularly at night. Both bedrooms were very comfortable. The beds and pillows were great, and we slept well throughout the week. The bathroom amenities were Byredo, which smelled lovely. Housekeeping did a great job every day, and we appreciated the nightly turndown service. One small but thoughtful touch was that the housekeeping staff even helped organize our medicines on the counter. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. On one occasion, I came back with quite a few shopping bags, and the staff immediately offered to help carry everything up to the room. Little things like that really stood out. The location is another big advantage. There are two 7-Elevens and a FamilyMart very close by, and shopping areas like LUCUA, Hankyu, Hanshin, Daimaru, and Umeda Links are all within walking distance. It made getting around, especially after day trips, very convenient. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and felt the hotel lived up to its 5-star reputation. We would happily recommend InterContinental Osaka and would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Osaka.

The Michelin-starred dining was spectacular, with the culinary team delivering an unforgettable experience. Every detail was thoughtfully attended to, and we felt genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived until our departure. - danielgV5170QT (10/5): Great hotel and great service. - We stayed fife days in this hotel during our trip to Japan. Hotel actually placed from 20th floor up, so city view is incredible. Room was very comfortable with all future cleverly organised. We even had pair of kimonos , which were ironing every time when room was cleaned, if we used it evening or morning prior to room cleaning. We had vouchers for everyday drinks and this service was provided very nice. Restaurant was very good for breakfast and for dinner too. Room cleaning was great with such precision which I didn’t see anywhere. Even wires of chargers were organised, bath slippers were place vertically to be able to dry and kimonos, which I already mentioned. Global service, such reception and concierge was simply excellent in any way. All questions were answered, they made a search for some product which we wanted to buy, explained us everything including map, transportation and book our excursions. Our big thanks to all staff and biggest one to concierge Yuri, who actually guided our all activities. By the way taxi from hotel to bullet train station is cheap and it was recommended by hotel staff too.

Upgrade to the larger residence room with a view was very welcome and Ambassador and Platinum Elite status was recognised. Close to train stations and very central.

The GM, Jerome is very personable and professional and if you stay here you will definitely meet Gerard, the fantastic Aussie Food and Beverage Manager! The Bar has live music and is a perfect spot to relax after a big day exploring Osaka. Rooms are clean and well serviced. This is the the second time we have stayed here and would keep coming back when in Osaka.
