- Claudia (9/5): - Great location, by taking an elevator you are directly at the mall. Room was clean and staff was nice. We also had a nice view from the room!
- MAKKAR (7/5): -
- Ashok (10/5): Excellent we liked most - Good All ok
- Chetan (10/5): -
- Gautam (6/5): The personal data breach overshadowed all the positive aspects of the hotel. - Positives are:
• The location is excellent, with direct access to Mall Road via a private lift and easy car pickup and drop facilities, which is a major advantage in Shimla’s hilly terrain.
• The central heating system worked perfectly, keeping the rooms comfortably warm during the cold winter nights.
• The food was genuinely tasty, well-prepared, and served promptly.
• A special mention to the concierge, who was extremely courteous and efficient in arranging cabs at short notice, making local travel much easier, all the staff members were really courteous and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Serious Data Breach Despite Good Location and Service
Soon after I checked in, I received a fraudulent message from someone identifying themselves as “Christine Schmidt,” claiming to be the hotel administrator. The message included my exact check-in and check-out dates and asked me to verify my credit card details through a fake Booking.com-style link. This was a clear phishing attempt, and the fact that the sender knew my reservation details strongly suggests that guest information may have been leaked or mishandled.
This incident raises serious concerns about how guest data is managed. I chose not to escalate the matter during my stay, as I feared potential repercussions while still on the property. I strongly urge Booking.com and Hotel Combermere management to investigate this potential data breach immediately and implement stronger safeguards for guest privacy.
In summary, while the property offers comfort, convenience, and good service, the potential data leak is a serious issue that cannot be overlooked.
- Paramdeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gurkirpal (7/5): Good - Food This hotel is not for the senior citizen or even slightly handicapped people. There are two many steps involved in getting to the reception and from their getting to the room and from their getting on to the mall road. Extremely poor accessibility with no railings on very steep staircases for the senior citizen or the slightly handicapped people to hold on to. Wheelchair ramps where available are two step for one person to control. The hotel should clearly put up this information with apps like yours and on their own website. Even if the facilities were okay this day was extremely uncomfortable because of accessibility problems. I will not stay there and I will not recommend to people of my age. The money that they ask for this is on the higher side.
- Singh (8/5): Very good -
- Samthelast (4/5): Disappointing - Location Front desk Staff was rude and uncooperative, breakfast wasn't included and was highly expensive, not worth the price.
Please avoid at all cost. Not worth it.
- Vikrant (8/5): Very good -
- Kanishka (10/5): Loved it - Loved the view and ambience… Food
- Harbir (6/5): - Access to the mall is the only plus. Furnishings in the rooms are outdated and dirty. I never sat in a sofa before that has no back cushions to support you. No convenient electrical outlets to plug electronics or bedside medical devices like CPAP. Breakfast is same old average tasting buffet. No parking. You may get locked out if you are a late night player. Turns absolutely dark at night even the walkways and stairwells to the rooms, so keep a flashlight on hand.
I give 2-3 stars, only for the staff friendliness and courtesy.?
- Rks (8/5): Very good -
- Ricky (8/5): Very good -
- Sahil (8/5): Very good - Location Too much confusion about elevators. No signposts
- Neha (10/5): Exceptional -

- Ankur (9/5): Superb -
- Neelu (9/5): Excellent property - Excellent location The steps to climb
- Ajit (9/5): A place to return to! - Friendly and helpful staff. Great location N/A
- Grant (7/5): A good but rambling hotel that connects the upper and lower towns. - The hotel is built over several floors and has its own lifts to reach the lower town and the upper town. Although this is a little confusing it is very useful as the upper town (with tourist highlights) is pedestrianised and the lower town (with taxis to railway station or further afield) is not. The hotel has a lot of facilities on various levels but it should market these to its customers. There is a bar/club, a gym, a games room. We found these when we were about to leave.
- Vikrant (8/5): Very good -
- Khullar (6/5): Pleasant -
- Harjinder (10/5): Brilliant and will repeat! - Location and access with private lift to hotel and to Mall Road. Private and comfortable Nothing
- Neeraj (7/5): Good - Location is excellent Only one key card for each room,
restricted access to elevator
- Shalina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jalaramaiah (9/5): Superb -
- Mrittika (9/5): Superb - Location was great . They have their own private lift for mall road and very cute cafe as well as brewery The price for tea/milk etc is a bit higher but the quantity provided is also good so no such complaints.
- Dennis (1/5): never stay again, will never recommend, staff like security were great and helpful - Location The room was smelling like a toilet, had to request fora air freshener to be sprayed, the room service person said it was because it was locked for a while, does that imply rooms are not cleaned or sanitised be for the guest checks in.
The toilets were sub standard, didn’t feel comfortable taking a bath, no toilet paper.
- Akarshit (8/5): Very good -
- Sheba (7/5): Good -
- Dharmesh (7/5): Great location - Private lift to mall road.
Close to mall road Access to hotel is completely complicated for someone coming for the first time.
- Pooja (8/5): very comfortable and convenient - location was perfect and service was excellent for games like pool and billiard we have to pay. parking is also it there. rooms charges are high they should include parking in it.
- Mrinal (8/5): Very good -
- Anupam (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not value for money
- Satish Kumar (8/5): NOT DISABILITY FRIENDLYSTAY - hotel is very convinently situated near the government Lifts and Hotel has lifts which leads to The Mall Road .This hotel is however not good for people having disability and you have to climb steep stairs to reach the way to the Lobby /Reception.Newly renovated rooms in New Wing do not have any view.
- Preethi (8/5): Nice hotel that open to the mall road - We booked into the hotel because they have an elevator that takes you to the mall road as we had two elderly people in our group. The stay was very comfortable, staff very polite and friendly and our room had two balconies with excellent views. A special mention to the F &B department who were very obliging when my father was a little unwell and wanted to have idlis for dinner. The breakfast was good and we were happy with the facilities provided.
- Jaya (6/5): Convenient to mall/shopping area - Parking lot under construction, difficult to get into hotel with bags. Staff not too friendly. Unable to change booking dates, even if same number of nights requested- hotel was not fully booked.
- robert (2/5): outdated rooms, rude staff, poor customer service - Very rude and bad staff. They charged extra when we called for wifi password. Iron was missing in the room and staff was not helpful in getting another iron. Room is worn out and outdated. Will never return there
- great location (6/5): Close to all attractions - Not close to 3 stars standards .....I 'd recommend only because of location. Nice food at restaurant
- Neha (8/5): good but a bit expensive hotel - wifi did not connect!!
- Lars Magnus (8/5): God beliggenhet, god mat - Tilbrakte totalt 3 netter der. Behagelige og rolige omgivelser, trivelig betjening, god restaurant og bar. Svært sentral beliggenhet.
- Richard (8/5): central good clean hotel - Perfect location in Mall with lift, helpful staff
- rupesh (4/5): - not satisfying being a three star hotel
