The outside areas had been cleared by the time we went for breakfast ,despite a wedding going on the night before, so good work there. The room was surprisingly quiet , good shower. Had a great few days, food was perfect and consistent and we never had a meal that was not delicious. Service was so prompt and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of booking with them. Great value too and such a serene and welcoming atmosphere. Don’t hesitate to book, will definitely be back.

There is no lift to the rooms and additionally I was given a room which was probably the furthest away from the stairs. Being disabled and having difficulty walking this made it really difficult for me. Additionally I was given a room with a bath that I could not climb into and despite telling the receptionist nothing happened.

- 562meelim (2/5): Underwhelming experience, especially we had handpicked this hotel during our most special time in our lives - Going from the fantastic Crossbaskets to underwhelming Dalmeny Park to uniquely fabulous House of Gods, one after another , the negative and underwhelming experience at Dalmeny house during our wedding nights, stands out even more. After booking over a year in advance, paying more than a double that it would have cost, if booked nearer the time, we had just a couple of small requests to ensure smooth and unique experience for our wedding nights . Staff assured, none of it was an issue to arrange. My husband dropped off the bags earlier , to check in and to have the card charged , so that we didn’t have to deal with the payment side and check in after our long wedding day. This was not arranged as agreed prior, so had to do it on arrival, after midnight, in our wedding outfits etc. Reception staff did not even acknowledge that we just got married, no how was your day, no congratulations, no that we can deal with the payment later . Room was basic, quite small and again, not even a note to congratulate us. We picked to stay here for a personal touch and more unique experience. Surely for £445 for 2 nights stay in January, one would expect a bit more. Brought this to the attention at the reception in the morning after, hoping they will recover from this huge mishap, so the 2nd night we had a small congratulation plate with couple of sweets and couple of berries, after kind of asking for it. The damage was done, we can never get that night back to redo it. No goodwill gesture was offered, even a complimentary drink or a bottle of wine or a restaurant voucher , or an upgrade, that could have easily reversed some of the overly damaging experience. Had a chat with a manager after checking out, he was apologetic and said he will ensure this is included in the staff training and that he will bring this to the staff involved attention. Hoping we will visit again!! Again, no goodwill was offered. Surely for ruining our experience during our wedding nights would warrant something?? Especially, if we booked nearer the time , the stay would have cost us £182 instead of £445 we paid. This hotel has a lot to learn how it’s done, how to keep their customers happy and coming back. Very disappointing does not even begin to cover our experience

- Steven (8/5): - Hotel is lovely stayed for 1 night as an overnight with my fiancee. We had a meal at orchid restaurant and it was fantastic couldn’t fault it. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly as well. Only one issue was there was wedding on and we were woken up by the extremely loud wedding party outside our room at 1am who were banging doors and shouting (including ours for some reason). We had woke up suddenly and they were at it for at least an hour. Walls/doors are obviously quite thin! Not sure if staff were aware as was not ideal. Room was also incredibly humid and no air con etc ventilation

- RuthyGlasgow (10/5): Rue de Paul drag brunch - My friend booked this brunch for us for 11am on a Saturday morning. £55 pp for 3 course with tea coffee, bubbly on arrival and cocktail on table each, though the cocktail was like diluted cranberry juice without alcohol?. Photo Booth with props and of course with the entertainment from Crystal and another two artists. I thought this was well worth it. The DJ Gary, was really good and his choice of tunes were excellent getting everyone in the “spirit”! Lovely venue, but staff a bit hit and miss. Waited for tea for ages, like over an hour when told it was on its way, coffee drinkers sorted but not the tea genies, and when it did come it was too strong and horrible. There were a lot of staff but seemed to be really busy? I enjoyed the food with the scrambled egg being delicious and plenty smoked salmon. The small tastings of desserts were good too, Just the tea was the issue. In hindsight I should have asked them for a fresh pot?? Hope they do this event again as I would go back with more friends. - Shelley (9/5): - Staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful . Comfortable room and very comfortable bed . Breakfast was great , good choice , well cooked and served quickly . No issues
- Phil (10/5): Beautiful hotel and staff! - All staff were very pleasant and chatty. From booking in to breakfast the next day there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. Will be recommending this hotel if friends are visiting Glasgow. nothing
