Guest Reviews
- Arthur (10/5): - The place was amazing, very friendly and helpful staff, super centrally located, with a mini mart around the corner and two excellent restaurants within a minute walk (Toto and Amblé). Nice strong hot shower, the breakfast hall makes you feel like a Medici, and the view from the roof top terrace was breathtaking.
- Jack (10/5): - Amazing spot!
- Ivonne (10/5): - B&B Casa Nini was cozy, Daniel was am excellent host who took excellent care of us. He went above and beyond to help us with information with the trains, ferry to Varenna & Bellagio. He even had some ready to go breakfast because the following morning we left early.
The room & bathroom were super clean and his house adorable.
We also love the location just across the train station but it was not noisy at all.
Easy to go to other towns by the lake.
We highly recommend B&B Casa Nina
- michael (10/5): - Daniel was the perfect host. Short walk to beautiful beach
- Derek (8/5): A great place to stay. - A lovely place to stay. The owner was really helpful and friendly.
- Muath (8/5): - It was a nice stay overall. The view is nice, and the rooms are clean. Parking can be a bit tricky since the entrance to the garden is narrow, but there’s a convenient parking lot at the nearby train station for €10 per day. Overall, a pleasant experience.
- Bradley (10/5): Loved it! - Very pleasant stay with a great host and beautiful home!
- Dana (10/5): - Wonderful place with an amazing host. Lovely atmosphere and charming area.
The only draw back is the car access. Larger cars can’t past through an old town stone wall entrance.
If we had a smaller car it would be 5 stars rating all the way.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a special place to stay. The personal attention and care by the owners towards their guests is tremendous. Wonderful stay and hope to return.
- Zvjezdana (10/5): - Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The house is lovely with great details / touches. Daniele was very hospitable and helpful - thank you! Definitely recommend :)
Loved the town too.
- Erin (10/5): - Mr. Daniele us a great host, with excellent dinig suggestions! Beautiful B& B, but in August the nights are very hot.
- David (10/5): - Daniele, the owner, is a perfect Italian gentleman. He was very helpful and informative during our short stay at his beautiful villa. He reserved us a great spot at Sottovento restaurant in Lierna for dinner. It was a few minutes walk away. The common sitting areas are very comfortable and spacious. And breakfast was perfect with fresh fruit, croissant and fresh jams. Don’t hesitate to stay here. Great experience. One caution - if you drive only small to medium sized cars can get up the small driveway to the property. However, it’s only 50m from the main road so not a problem if you need to park and walk in to property.
- Steven (10/5): - Wonderful gem walking distance to the lake. Host was incredibly gracious and kind. Made reservations at local restaurant for us with fabulous food. The room was very spacious with a wonderful balcony and large bathroom. The local beach was an 8 minute walk with a roped off swim area.
- Tony (4/5): Host must retire. Miserable person. - Daniele the host not very welcoming and is a miserable person. Was very rude to us. We had asked to leave luggage on premises so we can head to laundry mat. He said it was ok. Upon our arrival back started lecturing us and was very rude towards myself and my children. Unacceptable behaviour.
- Ryan (10/5): Great time at Casa Nini! - Wonderful stay! We received a warm welcome and lots of great recommendations for the area. Breakfast was delicious and we had an overall great time. Highly recommend! If you’re driving a car, the entryway to the property is pretty small, but if it doesn’t quite fit, you can certainly park in a lot just a few more meters away.
- Vasilis (8/5): Nice b&b with a nice host - The b&b is located directly opposite the train station ( other side of tracks), unfortunately in July 25 the station was closed due to track work, so you had to take the bus from Lecco train station to Lierna, the change over was simple & you arrive in the Lierna main square, just head towards train station, go under bridge, go left up the path. You should see a small b&b casa nini sign on a post. The b& b is in a really nice house & room has great views over the lake. The room is comfortable, bed & pillows good, bathroom is ok. Breakfast was a nice croissant, some bread & jams, coffee & juice, it was good. The place is a great base to see Bellagio ,& Varenna from. At the end of the day it was great to come back to Lierna& get away from the tourists in Bellagio. Lierna has some nice restaurants & pleasant spots to enjoy your evening. Overall a great stay & if in Como again would not hesitate staying at b&b casa nini.
- Mathew (10/5): - Daniel is the most lovely, kind and considerate host you could ever wish for. We felt like we were staying with family. The property is beautiful and the room was absolutely perfect with a stunning view over the lake. Daniel allowed us to safely park our car, he even made a reservation for dinner in a lovely restaurant which was 5mins walk down the hill. The breakfast was lovely. We honestly wanted to stay another night, we loved Como and we loved staying here. 10 + Thanks again and tell your wife the cherry jam was amazing! We sincerely hope to see you again in the future x
- John (10/5): Nice quiet spot - Daniele was a wonderful host and the location was lovely - enjoyed a late night trip to the local pizzeria which was great too
- Michael (8/5): - Convenient location, great breakfast, nice owner.
- J R (10/5): Fabulous and Highly Recommended - Our stay was fabulous!! Daniel couldn’t do enough for you. He made our stay feel like we were visiting a favourite uncle, with an en suite bedroom in his lovely home. The view from our room was breathtaking!
We were on a driving holiday so had our car, which we parked in the grounds of the house behind electronic gates (for which we were given a key fob to activate). The approach hover is very tricky. My car is 1.88m wide, the gap which I had to navigate through is 1.89m wide, and can only be accessed by driving past the entrance, turning around at the post office and approaching from the other direction. Daniel will guide you in. If you have a small car, no problem, alternatively you can pay €30 for one weeks parking at the train station, which is two minutes walk away.
- Nicholas (10/5): Amazing stay! - Amazing stay, host was so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us!
We checked out early and he made sure breakfast was ready for us.
Amazing views and in a fantastic location. We will definitely be coming back!
- SIM (10/5): A nice and comfortable accommodation at Lierna - The host Daniel made us feel very welcomed.
Room is well equipped and beds were comfy for a good night's sleep.
Casa Nini is above and opposite the Lierna train station, overlooking Lake Como.
Recommend to park car at Lierna train station and take a short walk to Casa Nini.
- ghajhanan (10/5): - Amazing place. Beautiful House!!! A hidden gem. Lots of traditional decor inside. Interior is like a museum. Danile is a great host He goes out of the way to make guests feel welcome and gives you a lot of tips on ferry services, boat tours and hiking. Amazing place to stay if you're coming to Lake Como . Property is next to the Lierna Train station and has an amazing views of Lake Como and the Mountains
- Abel (10/5): - Danielle was a great host. He was helpful and providing transportation info and he even provided our pack breakfast on our last day as we check out early.
- Lisa (10/5): - Property owner went above an beyond to assist us. A wonderful place to stay. We will definitely stay here again.
- Katrina (10/5): Good base for Lake Como - I had a great experience staying at BnB Casa Nini. The location is good for hitting key cities in the Lake Como area, with train and ferry access. The facilities are clean and well-kept. The room was spacious and comfortable. The host is friendly and accommodating - he will provide any information you need regarding ferries, local recommendations, and train service.
- Rose Ann (8/5): - Daniele was a wonderful host. We stayed for one evening. The views are spectacular.
- Christina (10/5): - Daniel was an amazing host. Location was excellent!! Very convenient to the train station.
- Alfonso (8/5): - The location was convenient for visiting Varenna and Bellagio. I recommend having good communication with Daniel, since this is his B&B. It’s a lovely, elegant family home… wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy it, but grateful for the breakfast to-go that Daniel prepared for our early morning train.
- Harold (10/5): - Beautiful well appointed house.
The Patron was so helpful. Made taxi and restaurant bookings for us. Very pleasant continental breakfast.
Very enjoyable stay.
- Anthony Charles (8/5): - Handy for train station and ferry,S.Daniele, the owner is a delightful gentleman.
- Blair (10/5): - Nice
- Isabelle (2/5): Awful - We never succeed to have access to the B&B cause workroad and the owner never answer to the phone. She knows exactly what Time we supposed arrive and we try to join her while one hour. I contact hôtel.com and the same thing he never join the owner. So after one hour waiting without any answer we choose another hôtel. The more fustrated the owner write me email at 9h00 pm to Ask where i am?!??
Awful experience and I lost confidence about hôtel.com.
- Brigitte (10/5): - First of all the house was beautiful, and so was our room.
But mostly we love the host Daniele, he is so funny and has a great sense of humor. Plus he speaks English very well!
We felt sorry we had to move on again.
- Horatiu (10/5): - We were in transit so stayed just one night, and the place was perfect for us. Daniele was exceptionally helpful!
- Halyna (6/5): piece of paradise. - It was our first experience where the host lives in the property that we were renting, it was not too pleasant at the beginning since we took some liberties that we were not allowed and the host called to our attention in a type of demising and condescending way which did not set well with any of us. Now, having said that the host is a elder person that is taking care of the whole property and we could understand why he reacted in the way that he did. If you are not used to be in a place in which the host live there, please ask for things before taking it. The apartment doe not have a great water pressure , neither it has a great air conditioning (for American standards), but it is located in an area that is not too hot, beside and generally speaking none apartment in Europe has a "great air conditioning". The property itself is gorgeous and it is well located, very close to the port if you come by the ferry. I think it is fantastic for those that need to take a break from the hush and hurry of life since this place gives the appearance of having the time to come to a very slow pace. I m writer, and this is the ideal place to disconnect and write.
- Paul (10/5): - We loved this place. I made the mistake of arriving a day early. The owner was very accommodating and took us in without hesitation. He was absolutely one of the nicest people ever. Breakfast was nice and fresh. The train station is literally a 30 second walk from the property (though we never heard train noise while staying there). The owner walked with us to the train station in the morning while carrying some of our heavy bags up/down stairs. It was truly a pleasure for us to stay here. We would absolutely return to this beautiful town and property.
- William (10/5): Amazing stay in Lierna! - We had such a wonderful time staying at Daniele’s property. Felt like we got to step back in time, like staying at a true bed and breakfast. Fun to get to know a true Italian…His sense of humor was so fun as well as his kindness to our family, we will always remember staying here!! Great breakfasts and he also made a reservation for our dinner and gave us good advice on how to get a ferry over to Bellagio.
- Md Nasim (10/5): Wonderful - It was a wonderful experience in B&B Casa Nini. From where to start and what to say...everything will be less to discribe.
Daniel, the B&B owner is one of the kind and compassionate Italian we've met ever. Upon arrival he explained everything, showed us some restaurants and offered help to give reservation.
The checkout date of us was a train strike and he even drove us to the station where train for central Milan will stop.
The room, whole B&B was nicely decorated. Washroom was big enough, so clean and lovely.
Morning breakfast was very very tasty. We specially enjoyed the handmade jams.
To Daniel, you are a very kind soul and pure human being. We pray for your good health and long life. Please take care. And will come again.
- Nazia (10/5): - Amazing experience. The host is really amicable and helpful. Would love to come back again. I surely recommend this place.
- Luciano (10/5): - My stay at Bed and Breakfast Casa Nini on the eastern shore of Lake Como was the highlight of my trip to Italy. Mr Daniele, the host, was gracious enough to accommodate my late arrival. He took the time to explain the area to me, provided me with a guide of what to see on Lake Como, made dinner reservations for me and prepared a breakfast perfectly tailored to me. His command of English (and I suspect many other languages) is excellent and he is clearly a very intelligent man, who is very interesting to talk to. The property was extremely close to the train station. The room was surprisingly large, well appointed and had an expansive view of the lake, along with a balcony. The entire property, including the room and common areas, were immaculate. Moreover, the room was refreshed daily, with new towels, soaps and cleaning. I’m honestly still in shock at what I paid for the room and level of care I got. Mr Daniele was even kind enough to keep my bags, offer me a drink and let me use the bathroom well after I checked out, having spent another day exploring. I cannot speak more highly of a property or it’s host.
- Donna (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised how nice it was and the proprietor was so accommodating and helpful with helpful information on making our stay alot easier and he serves a mean breakfast fresh every morning. He made alot of suggestion.
- Philip (10/5): Great stay with awesome host - It was a great stay. The host was friendly and welcoming. He suggested us several restaurants in town.
- Maggie (10/5): - Wonderful
- Jacqueline (10/5): Charming - Charming small family run B&B. Daniel was an attentive and very helpful host. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Homemade jam with breakfast. Lierna was a small, quiet village away from all the usual hustle and bustle of Lake Como but an easy train ride to Varenna and ferries to Bellagio. Daniel booked us into a great local lakeside restaurant - Sottovento. Access to parking on-site was tight if you have a larger car so we parked in the station across the lane. Daniel provided parking tickets for this.
- Mark (10/5): - We loved EVERYTHING about this amazing B&B !! From precious Daniel who wons it to our amazingly beautiful room with a view of the lake...to the train near by to take to the next town to take the ferry across to Bellagio...to the delicious breakfast with the best coffe ever Daniel made us each morning !! Truly one of our favorite stays ever !! Thank you, sweet Daniel !!
- Andrian (10/5): - Beautiful and quite place
- Syed Abbas (10/5): - Danielle was already waiting for our arrival. He was extremely courteous and went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. His house is beautiful and a collector’s paradise. He served lovely breakfast every day. Cream on the cake is his sense of humor. All in all a wonderful experience. Lierna Train station is a stone’s throw away from the facility.
- Tobi (10/5): Lovely B&B well located by Lake Como - We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Casa Nini. There are 3 rooms, we were in the middle one which has the sole use of the balcony that runs the length of the building with gorgeous views to Lake Como and the mountains. Casa Nini is conveniently right next to the lovely, small train station but it's not noisy. Lierna is a small village but it can be quite hilly so the location was appreciated. The room was large and with a large bathroom. The rooms and the house were spotless. Daniele was a gracious host with lots of information on local places to eat and the ferry & train schedules. Lierna is quite small village but has all the necessities. He served a lovely breakfast. He likes to keep his guests separate so we didn't get to meet any other guests at breakfast. Lierna is on the ferry and train route so it's easy to get to other towns on Lake Como, and is a lovely place to walk around itself. A wonderful, relaxing stay. It's been a tough year, and this was the break our souls needed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Mixed good feelings - A bit detailed but hopefully helpful for others -
- the property is located strategically if travelling into Lierna by train. If you are driving to this place, you are bound to have your car scratched if you are driving a big car. A two seater small car would probably enter its very narrow and upwards steep and curvy approach road. So advice - don't book if you planning to drive here but no issues if travelling by train
- The owner/host of the property watches every movement of yours in his property like a hawk, which is not a very comfortable feeling. He keeps telling guests, don't do this, don't touch this, switch off the lights, don't turn the AC on at low temperature, don't open the door/windows. And he waits for his guests to leave so that they spend as little time as possible in his property.
- Breakfast is included as this is a B&B but is a sweet only breakfast with ready-made items like bottled juice, packaged croissant, biscuits etc. Yet again, be prepared to be watched while you take every bite
- The property is tastefully decorated and the rooms are on the first floor of the property. This place is not disabled friendly as there are steps to go up and down
- the views from the property are amazing - one side looking to the mountains and the other providing great views of the downhill lake Como and Lierna train station
- The trains have a regular frequency throughout the day but there are not too many people frequenting this station so its not too loud
- Vicky (10/5): - Great stay, the town is lovely and quiet and our host was helpful and accommodating 😄
- Verified traveler (10/5): A nice stay at Lake Como - We had a very nice stay at Casa Nini! The location is very convenient and the host was super helpful.
- ella (10/5): Wonderful stay!!!❤️ - We had a wonderful stay. Daniel the owner was very helpful in everything. It's accessible to the ferry boat and train station. I would love to stay in Casa Nini again. I would rate 10/10.
- Kelly (10/5): - It was a lovely place and we enjoyed Lierna
- Ali (10/5): - The host was a gentle gentleman
- ANALIZA (10/5): - The house is gorgeous. The owner is so accommodating and even help us to park. Quiet neighborhood. There is a train station in front but never bother us at all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place, ample room for a family of four, host tries to go out of the way to help and guide you.
- Robert (10/5): What a great stay! - We only stayed 2 nights. If we come back, Casa Nini will be at the top of our list. Our stay was fantastic, the house and room was beautiful and comfortable and our host was very helpful with dinner reservations, ferry and train schedules, and anything else to make our trip even better.
- J.V. (6/5): - It is a nice B&B but you need a small car to negotiate the road leading to the property.
- Mohamed (10/5): - Very pleasant and nice.
- Guillermo (10/5): - Great host. Beautiful area.
- Shashank (10/5): Amazing place with amazing views - It was an amazing stay. The place was clean, well located and had amazing view. The house itself had a royal interior and full of character. Our host Daniel was very friendly, polite and considerate. Over all it was an amazing experience and I would like to stay again.
- Akash (8/5): - Classy house with friendly host.
However the entry road is too narrow.
- Leah (10/5): Amazing Views, Host and B&B - Wanna give a massive shout out to Daniele for being such an amazing host during our stay, honestly went above and beyond with all our questions and made it so enjoyable and comforting being in Lierna and around Como! Would definitely come back again for the impeccable service he has given!!
- Gordon (10/5): - Host is very nice and friendly, he provides good care and gives advice on touring sites and transportation. Really nice sunset looking out of the window. The bed and room was very comfortable, and had a good sleep. Wish to have stayed another night
- Jose (10/5): Excellent B&B - Comfortable, air conditioned room. Attractive building and gardens.
Daniele, the host, is very friendly and helpful. Daniele made a good and plentiful breakfast every day, which included a savoury bread, Croissants, slices of bread, a variety of home-made jams, butter, chocolate spread and a home-made fruit salad, together with tea or coffee and fruit juice. Would definitely recommend!
Be warned that it is a steep walk up to Casa Nini from the lake though.
- Oliver (10/5): - A nice house. Good facilities. Friendly owners. Difficult access. Many stairs.
- Venkata Chandra Gupta G (10/5): The Best Accommodation/Stay in Lake Como! - From where I can start, everything is so amazing. I already miss the Host. He is very friendly, kind and helpful. Place is just opposite to station Lierna. Ferry stop is near as well. Coming to stay, everything is clean. Views are mindblowing that you can see lake from bed. Wow. Location is excellent. Nice breakfast with cold drink. 5* service by the Host. The best stay! Thank you and will visit again for 100% sure. Highly recommended.
- Michele (10/5): A Fan! - The host was very accomodating and friendly. Speaks many languages. The breakfast, served in a beautiful decor, was plentiful and varied (home made jams). Parking at a nearby train station, where the host helped us with luggage too. Room was wonderful. Attention to details. I loved this place and wish we could have stayed more than one night.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Everything excellent. Host is very friendly and good natured. He works hard to make guests happy. Helps with everything. Could not ask for more.
- Guenael (10/5): - Wonderful B&B right next to the Lierna train station. Great host, super helpful if you want guidance for hiking around the superb lake.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - LOVED this bed and breakfast!! the owner was so accommodating and prepared us the most delicious breakfast!
- Seejay (8/5): - Given the name - Casa Nini - I assumed there would be a sign on the property advertising the place as being named 'Casa Nini', there was not. This property is right next to the railway station, immediately to the east of the station. Why is this fact not stated in its Expedia profile? Nothing wrong with the place, except that it has the feeling of a private residence, rather than that of a hotel. The name Casa Nini in the Expedia profile made me expect it would be a hotel. I prefer the relative anonyimity of a hotel to that of a private residence
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly and amazing host. Great breakfast! My room was huge and so comfortable.
Lierna is quiet and 2 stop train away from Varenna. It also has a beach where you can soak in after a hot day. The ferry can take you to more popular spots like Bellagio.
- Carlos (10/5): Outstanding - The B&B is a very nice property located just across the rail station with a lake view. Daniele (owner) goes out of the way to take care of his guests and make them feel at home. Also, he goes out of the way to help find information you need for trains, restaurants, etc. Great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the lake.
- Ianaki (10/5): Svetlana & Ianaki - We were very happy with our host -Daniel and his beautiful property. Excellent location. Large bathroom and air- conditioned room with nice furniture and view to the lake. Thank you Casa Nini
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Daniel was a great caring and attentive host. The property and location was homely and excellent. Wish we had more time to spend at Casa Nini. Thank you Daniel and family!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Exceeded expectations! Danielle was the perfect host and he took care of us like we were family. Breakfast was special every morning and Danielle made sure he catered to everyones wants and needs. Did I mention the place is stunning ( and spotless) We had the family room and it was amazing! Honestly, I can't say enough. I booked because of the reviews but it still exceeded my expectations. Location is great, right on the train line with easy access to all of the lake. Lierna is also beautiful and has some really nice restaurants as well. Don't hesitate! I would love to come back again someday!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Truly a Special Italian Gem..place and person - An excellent choice; Casa Nini's owner and host provided warm hospitality, advise for area travel along with all the comforts a traveler would hope. With an email and text with our train's arrival our host met us. What a welcome to his fabulous Guesthose.
- Helene (8/5): A lovely B&B. Wonderful host and a great location - We had a lovely two day recent stay at Casa Nini. The host is a delight and helped us with train times and locations. Our breakfast was amazing with delicious fruit salads and home made jams.
It’s right next to the station so travel links are very easy and there’s a boat over to Bellagio.
I would certainly recommend this lovely place for a quieter trip to lake Como.
- Adele (10/5): Super clean BnB right next to Lierna station - The BnB is lovely. The rooms are big and clean and it is really convenient as it is 30 seconds from the train station. Trains run once an hour to Varenna which is 2 stops away where you can catch ferries to the whole of the Lake. Daniele is a nice man and serves breakfast every morning. I would definitely stay again at Casa Nini if I return to Lake Como.
- Claire (10/5): Guaranteed enjoyment - Our wonderful stay (2 friends and I ) in Lake Como for 3 nights was made by Daniel the owner of Casa Nini , there was nothing to fault . It is a large house just above the station (trains run hourly and stop at 8pm so not noisy) so a 2 minute walk to his beautiful house from Lierna station. We had the family room which was an extremely large room with a double bed and then a dividing half wall with a sleigh bed on the other side. It was decorated in the Italian style with traditional furniture which I like. The veranda was huge and views of the mountains. The room is at the back so no lake view but the front rooms have views and the breakfast room did . This is a small kitchen with a hob so if on a budget handy to have. Daniel was a superb host , not intrusive at all but there just when you needed him to ask a question. He knew the best restaurants and we had a 10% discount at one for just mentioning Casa Nini. Breakfast was perfect (oh how I miss them) . Lierna although a mid lake village/town is quiet but it was an excellent base for touring as a ferry goes in the morning to Bellagio and then you can pick up other ferries from there. I felt we really experienced Italy and were not part of the tourist trail at all and it made us explore rather than just staying in the same place for dinner . Casa Nini was one of the best places I have stayed in for overall experience and that is due to the B&B itself/rooms but Daniel as well. I was very relieved as the arranger of the trip!
- Qaiser (10/5): Best experience ever - Prior to this trip, I haven't stayed at an overseas B&B so didn't know what to expect.
The villa was amazing and tucked nicely in a quiet village in close proximity to Varenna. I can't recommend this place enough! Daniel is an excellent host!
- Siobhan (10/5): Homely - Danielle should not have done more for us. He was very accommodating, even lending us towels for the local beach and was full of advice for things to do and places to visit. Highly recommended.
- Igor (10/5): A nice man sharing his home with you! - Daniel, Ciao!
Thank you for sharing your home and your story with my family!
We truly enjoyed every minute staying with you in Lierna.
Tasty breakfast, beautiful family story, a few bottles of wine.
Train across the street, easy trips anywhere around Lake Como.
NOTE: if you are a new driver OR drive a bigger than full size car - don't try to get in right to the house: park at the train station and walk 100 yards))) Otherwise, test your driving skills!
NOTE1: if you are looking for a busy nightlife - stay in Bellagio!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent host and lovely B&B - Daniele was a fantastic host - really helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to give us information about the local area and make recommendations, including staying up to tell us about a train strike which would impact our travels the next day. The B&B itself is lovely, clean and comfortable, and our room was very spacious. Convenient location for the train station too.
- Samantha (10/5): Charming in so many ways - The charm of lierna begins in this B&B. Daniel is a such wonderful host. I don’t think we have ever had a better experience at staying at a B&B than we did at this one. Very clean and in a beautiful setting. Everything is within walking distance. We were actually sad to leave. This place felt like home to us. We enjoyed the beautiful rooms and the company of Daniel, who is great fun and will answer all your questions. He even made us a special treat of sautéed peppers and scrambled eggs one morning. This place will be one of my best memories of visiting Italy.
- Jocelyn (10/5): Simply fantastic vacation - The room we stayed in is spacious, clean and cosy. The ambience around met up to my expectation. Breakfast was good esp. the coffee.
The best part of it was the heartwarming gestures of our host, Daniele. He surprised me with a slice of cake with a candle on my birthday. He even took us to a trip to some amazing places in Como. His kindness and hospitality has really made our stay into a memorable experience. We’ll surely be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Italian Villa with view of Lake Como - Loved this BnB. Located in Italian Villa on a very narrow road. Owner greets at gate to let you in. The room was lovely and spacious with a view of the lake. There are only 3 rooms. The owner was very helpful in navigating our way around the lake. The owner personally prepared breakfast and very willing to share family history.
- Jon (10/5): Lovely room and welcoming host - Really special B&B, Daniele is a welcoming host and very knowledgeable on the local area - he gave great tips for restaurants, ferries, hiking routes etc. We had the family room, with a lovely terrace looking up at the mountains - the breakfast area and other rooms have views of the town and Lake Como.
Excellent breakfast and coffee, served by Daniele at a communal table in the kitchen - we enjoyed discussing plans for the day with the host and the other guests.
Lierna is a great base for exploring Lake Como - It's a pretty little town, with a couple of good restaurants / pizzerias, and is less touristy that Varenna (which is ten minutes away by train).
I would highly recommend Casa Nini.
- Dijana (10/5): Lovely place, right next to the lake - We had a lovely stay at casa nini and had loved the little town as well. Owner Danielle is super helpful, charming and so funny.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good, very near facilities - Unfortunately this hotel is very near the train station, so if you dont mind early starts then this is a perfect hotel. the landlord could not do enough for us. Room was plenty big enough and the breakfast was lovely.
- Todd (10/5): Best B&B in best place to be - Lierna is really real and a quick ferry ride to the touristy magnets. Casa Nini and its owner is sooo much fun. Did I say that the owner is fun? Trains South every hour.
- Eric (10/5): Great location and a wonderful host! - Great location and an excellent host. Perfect base for exploring Lake Como and an easy trip to Bergamo or Milan if you want branch out.
- Simon (10/5): Excellent Guest House, fantastic location. - Excellent Guest House, fantastic location.
Daniele really looked after us.
Lierna proved to be a great place to use as a base for visiting various locations around Lake Como and Milan.
Highly recommended!
- Penny (10/5): Charming B & B, more like staying with a friend. - Danieli makes you feel very welcome, and is a font of knowledge on what to see, where to go, and how to get there. With the help of his smart phone he provides you with boats and train times so that you can get the best out of your day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing B&B with beautiful setting at the foot of the mountains and an amazing view. Very close to Varenna and a wonderful host!
- Charlie (10/5): Great location for day trips - Terrific B&B. Excellent location, friendly and very helpful owner, good clean accommodation, reasonable price and close to lakeshore. This would be a good spot for those who want to take day trips around Lake Como and beyond. No need for a car as the train station is next door and the ferry dock a five minute walk. It is way more cost effective and convenient to take the excellent train and ferry service to beautiful towns around the lake. No worries about paying for parking spots if you can find one and both ferry and train have frequent service and low cost. Danielle, the B&B owner, who speaks perfect English, is happy to provide you with maps and recommendations on restaurants and tourist sites. He goes to great lengths to ensure that his guests have a wonderful stay in one of the prettiest parts of Italy.
- Larry (10/5): - This B and B had a terrific host and very convenient location. I had a nice view from my room, which was very comfortable. The bathroom was deluxe compared to most that I had in Italy. The only drawback was a crying baby in the next room kept people awake one night, so the soundproofing is not terrific. The other night was very quiet though. I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best Stay Ever! - The best there is! Don't miss out on staying here. It will be the highlight of your trip. Daniel is so kind and so funny and Lierna is like a dream.
