Guest Reviews
- Ming (8/5): - Complicated check i process...
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- TZU SUNG (8/5):
- Verified traveler (4/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 。
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Like the location easy to get around. Don't like the smell of disinfection and smoking, but stay for one night it's okay for me.
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There might have inappropriate statement which causes different level of expectations. Overall, it might be a choice for staying short trip night, but not a long trip.
- Kelvin (2/5): Bad experience - I will not go back to this hotel anymore, a place with a rude staff welcoming the guests are really very bad. The male staff attitude while opening the door to us was so bad that he even scolded us for wasting his time to open the door. Even though, the hotel room itself is ok, i will not visit again.
- SUNIL (8/5): Good value for Money - Good value for money, 3 MTR station within 10 minutes walk, 25 Minutes walk to Taipei main stations lost of place for food.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for money - Location is 5 minute walk from nearest MTR station. Lots of convenient stores and restaurants nearby. Sleeping condition is comfortable. Place is clean and turndown service is good. Value for money is on point if you are on a budget. Just don"t expect an extra mile for service. You get what you pay for. All in all, it is okay.
- Marie Jennife (8/5): - Affordable Rates the only problem there's no elevator. We had a hard time since we had 4 big luggage.
- Thibaut (10/5): good time - Very nice little hotel, no reception but staff can be reached 24/7. Clean, great shower, comfy bed. Had a great stay and didnt break the bank. Area alright, nothing crazy about it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small & cozy room. Nice room cleaning service. Other services were kept to minimal. Worth the price.
- Lester (10/5): Good - Good place
- Verified traveler (6/5): small but clean rooms. no rereption. - manager speak english. small but clean rooms. no reception. difficult to find ..no signs better to use taxi.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Value for money - Good enough to use as a base to sleep in. Handy location nearby. Enjoyed my stay here.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Taipei Centro Stay - Central location: close to tube/subway lines. Turned up early-ish in the hope of dropping off a bag but no joy
- Benjamin (6/5): Quick easy and low hassle. - I came in late. The hotel is usually unmanned but he answered the phone after midnight expecting my call. In about 10mins I was guided to my key and door over the phone and it was all good.
- Ceres (6/5): Experience staying in this guesthouse - To me this is more like guesthouse. When we arrived the guesthouse, the staffirst told us our room number, I was like OMG.....why?? Because our room located at Level 3. I was thinking, how to carry our big luggage up??? No choice we hav to carry because the staff did not offer help. We were told that the door pin number will change every 2-3 days. Everyday before we leare the guesthouse, we look at the pin number to confirm the pin number change or not.On our 3rd day morning, the pin number still the same but the pin number was change when we back to the guesthouse at night. Lucky, they still have intercom for us to intercom them. I would suggest they change the door pin number at night instead of afternoon or late evening. It inconvenient for those people who leave the guesthouse early & come back late. When we check out, we need to carry our big & heavy luggage from 3rd floor to 1st floor by going thru the small staircase. When there are few more step to reach the group, the staff did not offer help to take the big heavy luggage from us. The staff just sit there and see. If there is a guy with us, the staff don't offer help is OK but we are only 2 girls, why the guy staff don't help us.
I wish the guesthouse owner could improve on this part.
- Kirsteen (8/5): Great Hotel - I stayed here on a business trip to Taipei. I expected a small room, given the price I had paid, but in fact it was massive - 2 floors in the room! I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room (perfect) and the bathroom (good shower, very clean, very modern.
The only down side was the lack of staff. I was greeted by a ringing phone, and the woman on the end of it took my details, told me where to find the key, and where to find the WiFi and door codes. I personally had no problem with this - especially if it's why the room was so cheap! - but I can imagine some might.
- lee (2/5): nice rooms, horrible service and everything else. - 1st night was decent.
2nd night is when the problems began.
We arrived back at our room late, tired, and pressed for time to sleep an be up in the morning only to find that our room key was deactivated.
SInce there is no hotel office, we had to spend calling plan money to make a call to them, and then wait a half hour for someone to show up with a new key. THey didn't bother bringing up to our 3rd floor, just dropped it in the downstairs key box, so fortunately we made a 2nd call to learn that and know to look for it.
This was especially frustrating because we asked for 2 keys initially an they said NO.
OK, finally eventually resolved.
Then, the next day, returned to find the entire 3 flight hall way (and our room) STUNK from noxious smelling insecticide odor.
Apparently, it was the day to spray, with no notice.
I have severe allergies and strong insecticide, especially at night while trying to sleep, is an extreme irritant.
THey could not even give us a fan for the window.
Had to open windows wide, block the hall door with towels, and stillfumes were STRONG, not to mention all the light and noise coming in from open windows.
I'm done with this hotel.
Nice rooms, but horrible, non thinking, service and management.
- Peichi (8/5): Value for money! - Shower was huge, bed was comfy, just that room was a bit small. Location was great. If you like local eateries, this is the place to be.
- andrew (2/5): Not a hotel, DO NOT BOOK - Was probably the worst place I have ever stayed, so difficult to find, couldnt even get entry until 15 minutes later when you figure out that its electronic coded and no-one is manning reception....cos wait for it....there is no reception. There is a phone and a desk and common keys, its not safe, no staff around...honestly speaking, its not a hotel and should not be on Hotels.com
- Fiona (8/5): Nice and convenient - The hotel is close to the subway station, about an 8 minute walk. The room is spacious and clean, the staff are helpful. it's a comfortable place to stay at and I will seriously consider booking this hotel again on my next visit!
- Cindy (10/5): Excellent Helpful Staff, Very Good Value for Money - The hotel is very much self-serve, there's no concierge - you get a key card from the staff there and then you're pretty much on your own. The room is a bit on the small side but comfortable for two, equipped with TV, desk, nightstand etc. The bathroom is nicely renovated and clean. Even though there's no front desk, the staff there is very willing to help and polite if you have any pre-/post- stay matters. The location is convenient, 10 mins walk or ~3 bus stops away from the nearest MRT station. We had a great time and will definitely consider stay with them again!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Centro Stay??? - - Bathroom was great and clean and spacious (it had a rain shower!)
- No 24 hour front desk and they can hardly understand English
- Cleaned the bathroon everyday, but room only once.
- Location was okay
- Nic (6/5): Very close to XingTian Temple MRT station - MRT station within walking distance, no receiption, no lift and no fridge in room; but it's quite clean and secure. And worth for what I have paid.
- Sherwood (8/5): - Very clean. Good place to stay. Good value.
Cleaning person is around all day if you need help.
Someone[english fluent] called our room in the evening to ask if we had everything we needed. I thought that was very nice.
- Junghun (10/5): Good accommodation - It was good holiday.
Everything was good except one thing which was that we had to ask manager to open the door every time.
Thanks.
- Brendan A (8/5): Great hotel for a short trip - A little difficult to find, but it's great value. The room's on the small side. Clean. Central location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): No elevator but great everything else - Nice staff but only down side is no elevator. Great room and cleaness
- Nuntaka (8/5): Nice decorate - Nobody show off for welcome.
- kelvin (6/5): Not too bad - Clean nice inn but there is no lift, and the highest room is at level 3, not the most ideal for travellers with huge luggage.
- Melanie (8/5): Nice and affordable hotel - The hotel does not have a reception desk so when you go in you need to use the door bell and the talk to the person over the phone to confirm your identity before they let you in. The hotel staff is friendly and they have basic necessities you need for example hot water, kettle to boil water, hair dryer and towel. I think the location is good because it's in the middle of the mrt loop. The nearest mrt is about 10 mins slow walk.
- Bentley (6/5): clean hotel but not so easy to find - Not so easy to find for 1st time. No reception area. But the room is clean and tidy. No ironner or hair dryer. It is pritty much just a very nice place to sleep. But if you are looking for a 4 start hotel experience, it probably not the choice. The place is close to local market, it is great experience to check out the local life style.
- LES (6/5): Good location. 10 mins walk to train station - Stayed there for 5 nights. Told the relevant person to clean up the room. However, they only change the towels but bed sheets and quilt wasn't clean up.
Photos of 2 single beds wasn't what was shown in picture. Was extremely disappointed with the pictures shown in the website.
- Dukey (10/5): Couldn't find it, but decent for the price!!! - Firstly I just wanted to state that taxi drivers don't really know where this hotel is located... we were taken to the Check Inn hotel a block away twice by two different taxi drivers... weird! The hotel itself looks like a normal residential apartment block- there aren't any signs or hotel names on the front- but it's the grey building opposite the bright yellow shop on the corner of a side street. Press # then 9 to call the operator to let you in. A cleaning lady will let you in. The rooms are no frills: no wardrobe, mini bar or even toilet roll (they have facial tissue instead). A/C, TV and very nice and clean beds and shower room are just what you need. Ideally, you would only spend 2/3 nights in this place; it's literally a place to dumb your bags/shopping/sleep and shower before hitting Taipei. We stayed in 306, a triple room (1x double and 1 single) for essentially £40 per night... bargain!!! Security is pretty much normal: swipe card to get in your room but no safe. There's also no breakfast, it's literally a block with rooms inside... Bring your own toilet paper!
- hs (10/5): Stay at centro stay, Taipei - Staying at centrostay was a great experience, the staff are friendly, and recommended us places to go (:
Even on our final day, the staff was willing to help us with our pieces of luggage.
I would recommend my friends to Stay there in the future!
- Verified traveler (4/5): not pleasent stay - The room was way too small. Plus most of its room window facing the naroww alley, so you can't open the window, the room has high humitidy and smell mold. and you can hear every sound that came from accross alley in the morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable Hotel to stay - We got lost when we first walked to the hotel. It's not an eye-catchy building, but the staff are nice and helpful. The toilet was much better than I had expected. The room is clean, tidy. And it's good to have a TV in the room.
- QF28 (6/5): Clean rooms - Location and cleanliness were good. The things we found inconvenient were the lack of storage service before check-in and after check-out and the lack of signs on the street. There were only stairs so we would think twice if travelling with big and heavy luggage.
- Carson (8/5): Excellent facility and quality - Value for money. Excellent quality and cleanliness.
The only disadvantage that you have to contact owner to access hotel. No staff will entertain at the lobby. No baggage reservation allowed.
Otherwise, this is a great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): I would stay here again if the odor was eliminated - Cons:
1) This isn't what you'd call a full hotel because there is no reception desk and there is no staff present. To enter the building you need to call the staff to buzz you in, same thing for check-in as well.
2) As you walk into this hotel there is a really foul smell of gasoline/car exhaust. It might be because the air conditioners are positioned close to the street next to an auto repair shop.
3) There is also a smell in the room that is a combination of car exhaust fumes and mildew (probably from the shower as there is not a proper fan system to suck the moisture out after a shower).
Pros:
1) Convenient location. 5 to 10 minute walk from Xingtian MRT station.
2) Located away from the touristy parts of Taipei if that's what you want.
3) The staff speak pretty good English.
4) Room was very clean and quite spacious.
5) Room was newly pretty new renovated.
6) 24 hour access to the front entrance
7) Air conditioner is extremely quiet and cool.
- Zach (8/5): Clean hotel but don't expect service or elevator - Went to Taipei for a wedding and found this hotel. Overall, my room was very clean but don't expect service or an elevator.
The location of the hotel might be difficult to find since there's no sign outside, and once you find it, you need to use the buzzer so they let you in. Someone will come down and give you a key. There's 3 floors but no elevator. This might be a problem for some people. There is no lobby, no check in, and no service.
The room is very basic but very clean, which is exactly what I was looking for. There is free wifi as well. However there is no minibar fridge, closet, or anything other than the bare necessities (and a hair dryer).
In the area there is a convenience store a small block away from the main road, and there's a number of local Taiwanese places to eat. The hotel is also a 5-10min walk away from Xing Tian Temple MRT station. Beware that walking from Shuang Lian MRT is like a 20-30min walk.
In the end, I was looking for somewhere clean to stay and I didn't expect to stay in the hotel room very long. This satisfied all of this. I'd recommend this place to people with similar requirements.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It's a self service hotel,15 min walk fr subway - If you are visiting Taipei in summer and rely on public transit, it's a bit far to walk to the hotel from the subway station. I took a cab after getting off the subway as it's just impossible to walk in the sun for 15 min with a luggage. There is no elevator. It's a self service hotel, no staff around to help you. everything is done over the phone.
I entered the room, there are random business cards on the TV stand and a toothbrush in the shower room from the last guest. not really pleased with the cleaning.
I like the room has actual windows with lots of sunshine and air de-humidifier.
- Verified traveler (8/5): clean and tidy - The room is clean and tidy, comfortable no bad smelling
Airconditioning is good and enough
Towel and water were refilled and change everyday
Wifi connection well
Easy to find from mtr, it need to walk around 10-15mins
Its secure
However there are no barrier free facilities,
Woman with heavy luggages and wheel chair people are not recommend to go this hostel since you need to go upstairs !!! The highest level is 3/f
- Jeff (8/5): Excellent Self-Serviced Hotel - The only reason that I do not give a five star to this hotel is that this hotel does not have a conventional lobby, front desk, and staff. You do your own check-in-and-out. You need to call someone to open the front door when you get back or for about any other things. Sometimes it is hard to get a hold of someone when you get back during late night and that is frustrating. Everything else is good.
- kev (8/5): Overall still a good place to stay. - Very clean room. But it's a bit far away from the mrt.
- Verified traveler (4/5): poor hotel - -Abt 5 to 10 mins to MRT station
-The hotel had no signboard so it's hard to tell if it is a hotel
-Any queries you could only check with the cleaning auntie
- Verified traveler (6/5): No hotel signboard no reception. - No hotel signboard and no formal staff to do check in. You may even need to wait one minute to open the hotel door.
- Allan (2/5): very inconvenient hotel. - very bad. 1st day when we get back from city tour, door wont open from the outside and ac wont work. made complaint about the ac and after a long day from 2nd day of trip, ac still not working and very uncomfortable to rest. with no room to exchange, I ended up looking for a new hotel to stay in the middle of the night and paid more than our budget. this experience will hope to give some things to think about with this hotel. by the way, this is not readily available staff hotel if u encountered some problem. you have to sait 15-30 mins for them to arrive.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Small Accommodation at Taipei - 1) Small space, hardly had space to pack the luggage
2) Toilet space almost equal to half of the bedroom space
3) Air condition not fully function.
4) Quite near to train station
- OWL (8/5): CLEAN ROOM, COMFY BEDS, GOOD LOCATION - The room is clean and nice. The toilet is very good. The location is good. The nearest subway station is XIntien Temple Exit 1 and turn right (about 2 blocks). At first, you may be quite hard to find this hotel because there's no hotel sign. However, when you found the hotel, it is very easy for you to travel in Taipei. The room is SUPERB. The only thing you may concern is there's no elevator so it is quite uncomfortable for the travellers who have lots of baggages.
- Africabeth (6/5): Nothing too exciting but not bad - My brother and I stayed here for two nights. It was kind of hard to find the first time, but simple enough afterwards. The room was quite small and no fridge but they did provide water and a water heater for tea. It's about a ten minute walk from the MRT orange line, so not too bad. Lots of restaurants in the area but didn't feel the safest. We didn't have any problems though and the hotel was clean. Not sure if I'd go back because it wasn't fantastic but it was fine
- Verified traveler (8/5): Will be back again - The hotel staff were easy to work with and accommodating. It wasn't a typical hotel experience, as there isn't a front desk with on-site staff, most communication is handled over the phone, and upon check-in, we were told to find our key card hidden around the lobby. But, hey, it worked out. Staff over the phone were able to help us locate extra towels, figure out logistics, and let us into the hotel.
The room, especially the bathroom, was really clean. Awesome showers, great TV and free bottles of water everyday! Though thee air in the room would be muggy when we came back to the room, we just turned on the humidifier and everything was a-ok.
- DV (8/5): Not a bad motel at all. - I'd say the only bad thing about this small motel is its discreet location that is really hard to pinpoint (they need to put a big sign..."Taipei Centro Stay"); if you give the address to the taxi driver, getting there is relatively simple. Though the outside doesn't look too appealing, the room interior is top notch and the room service staff is wonderful. Anyways, for being in the Taipei city close to the MRT stations, this is an excellent stay for the price.
- SHELLY (8/5): Location is continent - It's hard to find the hostel as it is no name in display, no receptionist and staff in service, there is only a cleaning woman in little bit assisting. That's why the accommodation is so cheap.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Standard room for its value - Everything is basically fine but it is a little inconvenient without 24hours receptionist.people making noise when they open or close doors in the midnight .apart from that it is in the city not bad for traveling .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Small, Clean, Simple, Cheap, Convenient - Small, simple, but comfy rooms for a low price. The place was clean, and staff were friendly, although I only ever interacted with them over the phone. Taipei Main Station requires 4 stops on the MRT, with a change of line in the middle.
- Grace (6/5): - Good
- BudgetTraveler (8/5): Great for a low budget - Overall a great experience. The rooms were very new in condition since it hasn't been that long since they opened. All bedding and linen were also clean and tidy. My friend and I did not experience any problems with any of the amenities and electrical appliances. We were pleasantly surprised to see there were toothbrushes in the toiletries set.
The location of the hotel was not in the most 'downtown' area of Taipei per se, but good enough for this price range I would consider. It was a little hard to find at first but once you have it figured out its only a short 5-10mins walk to the nearest MRT station.
My only complaints would be the complete lack of service and that the rooms are more on the small side. Yes, linens and complimentary bottled water will be replaced daily but that's about it. Mind you, there is no front desk or concierge, just don't be expecting star-grade hotel service like I did.
Although the 'hotel' really borders being a hostel in my opinion, but everything was clean and tidy. Great for the price. I will definitely recommend this one to all travelers on a tight budget.
- A (8/5): Low cost guest house with good potentials - It is a brand new guest house. The room was very clean with good space and window (next to to a old building, no views) There are 3 floors, but no lift, you have to carry your own luggage. There is not much service as the owner does everything herself (receptionist and cleaner), reception was only a desk and a sofa. It located on an older street, but plenty of local restaurants nearby, once you get used to it, everything works fine. The price was very good.
- Cheah (8/5): - Value for money accommodation if you just need a room. No reception, no restaurant etc within the hotel. Clean and new room in a quiet neighbourhood. Only problem is it is difficult to find. No sign to indicate the hotel is there. Use the hotel address to locate the hotel which is next to a motorbike shop. 5-10 minutes walk to an MRT station - very convenient.
- JM (10/5): Clean, comfortable hotel! - I was not expecting a hotel with such cleanliness and comfort for this price. The location is just 5 minutes away from the MRT station but you there are not many restaurants near the hotel. The room is clean, the toilet is beautiful and the bed is really comfortable. One bad thing about the hotel is you have to telephone-check-in, which means there will be no reception if you need anything right away. The janitor will clean your room everyday in the morning but if I could not find any method to tell them not to clean my room. I would surely stay here again!
- Maggie (6/5): Good location - Hotel was clean, however slight bit too small for twin share. The cleaner was very friendly and helpful. Only negative was that our room was really close to the next door neighbours and we could hear them talking
- Shen (10/5): Perfect spot!!!! Amazing amenities - Really enjoyed our stay here... relatively close to the MTR, great surrounding area for food.. not much in the way of night life. Centro stay was exactly what we needed.
- Frank (8/5): Clean room, great bathroom and shower. - Overall good clean room. Adjacent building within a meter of our window, so could hear every noise in morning. Location is okay. 10 min walk to xingtian temple subway stn. English speaking Staff helpful over phone. Wish they had an info sheet with directions for how to catch airport bus. Called staff and got different instructions each time as to where to catch airport bus. We stayed 6 nights. I think they only made beds once. Clean towels and shower gel and shampoo dispensers in shower. Complementary disposable slippers provided. Air conditioner in room good.
- Kim (8/5): Awesome execpt for one thing - This hotel is good.
It takes 10minutes by walk to subway station. Also, there are 2cvs near by hotel.
Good service, clear room, kind house keeper.
But, there is no reception. It could be hard to find the hotel, but except for that it is really good.
- Verified traveler (4/5): No signboard to hotel at all - Found it really inconvenient for me and my family. There were no staffs on site when we arrived to check in. We had to do the check in ourselves and retrieve the room key on our own from the desk just next to the entrance. Does it mean that anyone can just take the keys and enter the room before we checked in? Hotel was dimly litted with no sign boards. Worse of all, as we had 3 huge luggage, we had to climb up with 3 flights of stairs to the 3rd floor with all the luggage, where our room was. Surrounding was also very quiet and dimly lilted at night. I guess for this price I would not stay at this hotel again. there is much more better quality hotels at such a price tag.
- Nicky (8/5): Unusual place with a great location - Two friends and I decided to go in for a 4 person room rather than a three person. It was a great decision. There was no fighting for space for bags or over entertainment when we were back at the hotel. Now I say hotel loosely, because these places aren't quite like your regular hotel. There is no on site staff and just about everything is done over the phone. If you don't know exactly where you're going or what's around, that can be a bit of a downside, but for us, with our handy dandy guide book, it worked out just fine.
Finding the place wasn't too bad, and it was quite close to a subway station while still being a bit off the beaten path. The room was clean, they provided a bottle of water for us each day and toothbrushes/toothpaste. The blackout curtains worked great, as did the air conditioning. The fan did make a bit of a racket if it was on for a while.
On our last day we had to get to the airport at a very early hour. We called the staff and they arranged a taxi to pick us up without any issue.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Japanese style automated "rooms" - Like others have pointed out, this is not a hotel in the traditional sense. You show up to an nondescript door and press *9. Typically, someone will answer and ask your name, room number etc. to let you in. Why they don't simply allow you to use your electronic room key, I don't know. Well, the rooms are small but modern. All the beds and hardware are high end. Functional but not recommended.
- OiLin (8/5): Nice Hostel Near Train Station and Bus Stop - New Hostel, however no signboard to show motel building. 3 Storey and no lift. Cosy place. No staff attending personally except through Intercoms and telephone calls. However, the only staff. we see is the house-keeper who does the check-in/out and all the cleaning stuff. She is very friendly, cheerful, hardworking and strong as we see her carrying those heavy bedsheets up and down, changing and cleaning. Tips from her to nearby night markets by bus and train station are very useful. Thanks to her we got to those places without difficulty. We gave her only for the excellent staff rating for she kept the Hotel facilities, condition, room cleanliness and comfort excellent.
- Penny (8/5): Nice Accommodation that Exceeds Your Expectation - It is located in residential area which is quite quiet at night. However, it's easily accessible by 5-10 minutes walk from the MRT station and you can find food along the way.
The check-in experience wasn't nice for me. No staff was stationed there and I could only use the interphone installed outside to call for check-in. The first staff answered the call kept me waiting for 15 minutes on the street after hanging up but no one showed up eventually. My second call was answered by another staff. After knowing my situation, the staff let me get in immediately to do check-in over phone and got the room key myself.
Luckily the room assigned was neat with comfortable bed. The place was clean and the facilities were rather new. Cleaning work was done and supplements were re-filled everyday. Even the room size was not big as expected and there was no window, other things did really exceed my expectation.
Considering the room rate and the location, I would recommend this hotel to travelers with limited budgets.
- Sid (8/5): Nice and clean place - Not very close to underground stations, but if you just need a clean place to sleep in the nights, it's a good choice. Note that it's not a hotel, there is no reception staff. You have to call for someone to come to give you the room key.
- Florence (8/5): Great Location - Convenience to stay and go around the town.
- karen (10/5): good place to stay - the room that our stay for 5 days 4 night was very clearn, comfort and the price is cheap. Toilet is very beautiful and clearn like new .Just the room is too small . The girl staffs are very friendly , but the man staff are not too nice, coz i request him to open the door for us , he let us wait about 10 minutes outside the house. the location is very good , just walk around 3 minutes was the bus station .so, go every where is so easy.
- roy999 (10/5): Perfect cheap hotel with nothing to worry about - Not close to any attraction, and you need to walk 10 mins to the nearest metro station, but there are plenty authentic and cheap restaurants around. There are also massage harbours in the area, but the streets are not at all unsafe. The hotel itself is very decent. Staffs are polite, helpful and speak fair English. Rooms are small but very comfortable, clean and stylish. There are staffs cleaning your room everyday. The hotel provides toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, shower gel, towels, water boiler, coffee/tea bags, slippers, a new bottle of water per day per person, etc. TV has around 100 local and international channels. Air conditioning is icy cold (which is important in Taipei summer). Checking-in is easy. You need to press the button outside the hotel to call someone to come to give you your key card, but they will let you wait inside the lobby which has air condition and sofa. In fact they did say on their official website that you should tell them your arrival time beforehand so that their staff will already be there waiting for you, but even if you walk-in without appointment you wouldn't have to wait for too long. After getting your key card you still have to press the button to get in every time, but they can unlock the door instantly at their office (using remote control), meaning you wouldn't have to wait at all. In other words, there is nothing to worry about. For the price I would consider this a steal. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Taipei.
- Hank (8/5): very clean, new, and comfy - this room is not lie regular hotel where it has a front desk, it just a 3 level building that has rooms in side. you arrive and press the bottom at the fonrt door and people will answer and help you check in, which you have to wait about 10mins for the staff to arrive. the room was very new very clean, very quite, good for business person. there's no elevator and no frieg, besides that , everything else are very good.
- davsmoke (10/5): Will stay again - Great location, for those who are simply looking for a clean and nice place in city to stay, this could be a good choice. There's no concierge or anything, but via intercom you can get to the property mgmt 24/7. WiFi and cellphone reception could be weak for the rooms on 1F.
- joan (8/5): Tiny, clean, reasonable priced - We stayed for one night. The hotel was about 5 to 10 minutes' walk from the metro stop. The room was quite small but clean and moden. The big TV was very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): really centro - convenient to travel around taipei.near major tourist spots
- Patrick (10/5): Brand-new Interior and Good Location - Taipei Centro Stay is basically a number of serviced apartments located in a residential building, but without any staff on-site apart from the cleaners. This means you get rooms and amenities similar in quality and size to a much more expensive hotel. On the other hand, there is no concierge, room service, laundry etc. - but for the location, quality of the room and price this is still a good bargain.
- Verified traveler (8/5): comfortable and clean - The room is small, but the toilet is of reasonably size. The room is very clean and comfortable. However, it was difficult to find the hotel.
- Lauren (10/5): - We loved this hotel. The neighborhood is great - walk out the front door and turn right and walk 3 blocks and then another right and there's a market and little food stalls everywhere. That's also were a really convenient metro stop is making travel around the city easy. The hotel rooms are clean and modern. The rooms are very small, so this hotel is perfect for folks traveling on a budget who will spend most of their time out exploring and just using the hotel to sleep. There are no services - it's a no frills place but its cheap, clean, modern and convenient. Beds were comfortable and linens were nice, too. Shower was awesome.
- Jimmy Tse (6/5): - Room was good with nice beds & shower; no fridge nor safe box; no elevator & have to climb up two levels by stairs; no phone calls in & out of the rooms even though there is a phone inside the room (don't know what it is for); wifi is good though; no maps nor any information available in the hostel-style stay.
- Nicholas (8/5): Beautiful, modern rooms. - The rooms are beautiful and modern. However, the location is a problem. There is no name on the outside - neither English or Chinese. We spent almost an hour trying to find it. Local people tried to help us and phoned the hotel to get directions in Chinese and even then it was still difficult to find. In the hotel room, there needs to be English translation of the Chinese signs.
- Carolyn (8/5): Clean and inexpensive - This hotel was very clean and in good condition. The location was within walking distance of two major MRT stations which was good for seeing the sights of Taipei.
The down fault for us was that There is no doorman or someone to give you tips or advice on places to see in the city.
- Cam (10/5): Sweet and simple - This is a great hotel to dump your things and go explore the beautiful city. The rooms and entrance is very clean, and secure. The staff speak english also, making the experience very positive. This hotel is very well suited for the guest that doesn't want to spend much time in the room, but if they need to, could spend all day there comfortably. Thank you!
