- Ben (10/5): - Beautiful spot, with friendly staff and good food a true country pub vibe

- Iwona (9/5): Lovely property with excellent rooms and food - Lovely property. Excellent restaurant Although it’s located in a very pretty village it is close to main roads
- David (9/5): One of the best places I have stayed - Everything. The bar and restaurant are superbly and sympathetically restored making for enjoyable dining experience. Menu is imaginative and food excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The village and church both contribute to the experience Nothing
- Louise (7/5): Comfortable property - Lovely country pub in beautiful location . Good pubs rooms and pleasant staff. We had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard. We had a large patio window that we kept open as it was warm but the courtyard was noisy from early morning with various staff and people leaving the property. The carpet in the room could also do with attention/repair.
Other than that, the stay was excellent.
- Mark (10/5): - Comfy bed, superb bar staff Nothing
- Pete (10/5): - Location
- Kate (7/5): Would return as long as the gate was fixed. - Comfy bed, nice pillows. Very friendly lady in the evening managing dinner service. Food was very tasty. Gate right under bedroom window was unlatched and banging in the wind all night.

- Maria (8/5): We stayed for one night at this inn & it was very good. The service was excellent in both the pub & restaurant. - This is a lovely pub set in a beautiful village. Room was clean & very comfortable. The pub restaurant was also very good, food delicious & great service throughout. Nothing

- Amanda (10/5): Worth your money! Feels like staying in a village where movies are filmed. - The rooms and facilities were fantastic. Staff was so kind and the breakfast was delicious. Our room additions (toilet paper , tea, towels) were refilled after a night which was outstanding! I think the breakfast could’ve been a bit more affordable than its current price.
- Carl (10/5): Cameron was a brilliant host. - Cameron was a brilliant host. It was also a beautiful village an lovely food couldn't of stayed at a better place There was nothing to dislike tbf

- Timothy (10/5): - Exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious evening meal (especially the pie). Breakfast is quite pricey
- Mark (10/5): Looking forward to staying again. - Service, food and accommodation was great.
- Diana (9/5): - Lovely room with great facilities, especially the extensive tea and coffee making selection (including oat milk options). Great evening menu with huge portions (too big for me!) and not overpriced. My room was a "cozy room" and had a bathroom with sloping roof (and door to match). It was almost impossible to have a shower in the bath unless you're very short (I am, but I still didn't fancy my chances). The bath was lovely though. If you were over about 5ft 5 you would struggle to stand up in most of the bathroom.

- James (9/5): -
- William (9/5): Wish we could have stayed longer - Everything. Great staff, attentive, courteous, polite and very professional. Great food, well prepared and extremely tasty with unexpectedly short delays between courses, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. Wonderful atmosphere in both the pub and the restaurant and obviously popular with the locals. All in all a superb visit. We had the family room which, as a bedroom, was great, but there was no seating. A couple of chairs would make a tremendous difference and this is the only reason we didn't give the full 10/10.
- Dee (10/5): Lovely hotel with everything we needed - The warm welcome, the staff, the breakfast N/A
- Jonathan (9/5): -
- Tanya (10/5): Overnight stay - It is situated in a quiet village adjoined to a fantastic pub serving food Nothing
- Nicola (5/5): Would not return again - Breakfast was yummy all food was great . I finished my meal around 9.15 with friends and was told at9..25pm last orders I asked for a baileys coffee the machine was turned off . When I booked I was led to believe my table had a 2 hr slot from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm .i found this most unsatisfactory. Notification that the pub shuts at 9.30 pm .
- Andy (10/5): -
- Steven (8/5): Excellent stay excellent staff. - Nicely located country pub. Excellent.
- Joanne (10/5): -
- DAVID (9/5): GREAT LOCATION AND FACILITIES - VERY FRESH AND COOKED TO ORDER. SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND VERY FRIENDLY. MORE CHOICE ON ENGLISH BREAKFAST. WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER TO HAVE HAD A CHOICE OF CONTENTS. WE DON'T LIKE MUSHROOMS BUT WOULD HAVE LIKED BLACK PUDDING. CONSIDER GIVING MORE CHOICE.
- Ian (9/5): Very, Very Pleasant, all credit to the Staff. - Friendly and attentive Staff. small thing but one that makes all the difference.
Very Good Food, well rounded menu not over the top which usually means everything is prepared on site. (which hopefully means that very little arrives ready made on the back of a lorry) Nothing of note, except our bathroom did have a wobbly toilet seat, other than that everything was tip, top.
- Tim (10/5): - The Hotel itself was spot on,just in the middle of nowhere could do with a local shop, the food I had of the menu was very nice however there could be a bit more choice on the menu.

- Thomas (8/5): -
- Simon (10/5): Lovely pub, beautiful village, great staff and amazing accommodation - Beautiful pub, spotlessly clean WiFi a bit rubbish and no phone signal

- Mark (9/5): -
- Rowlett (9/5): -
- Jerry (9/5): A warm and comfortable hotel in a lovely area - Nice location, very comfortable, very helpful staff, nice room Unfortunately a walk in shower was not available in our ground floor superior double room
- Steve (9/5): -
- Tracey (8/5): - Na Na
- Anthony Fast (7/5): -
- Tina (8/5): - Staff friendly and helpful Nothing negative
- Dai (8/5): - Quality breakfast but had to pay on top of what was a pretty ££££ cost to stay. Paying extra for breakfast
Faulty flushing mechanism on the toilet wasn’t working.
- Joe (10/5): -
- Georgia (10/5): - Marcia was so kind, facilitated a late check in for me and was really helpful with showing me where to go! The room was gorgeous and the bed was amazing
- Lucinda (10/5): Very enjoyable - Very friendly and helpful N/A
- Hunt (10/5): -
- Jamie (9/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Ruth (8/5): - Friendly welcoming staff, well organised. Lovely room and superb food. Nothing to gripe about and would definitely return. Nothing
- Sharon (9/5): Fabulous hotel with fabulous staff. - Loved the small double. Not small at all for one person. Very nice. Staff lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. Very dark when arriving back at night and had to negotiate uneven surfaces, stairs and in heels. Could do with a security light that comes on, my phone was dead so could not use my phone.
Also breakfast on a Saturday didn’t start until 8.30am and I had to leave earlier. This is nit picking as this was a really lovely hotel.
- Kevin (8/5): Very pleasant. - Very nice building, great restaurant and staff. Lovely rural location and nice village to stroll around before dinner. They insisted I pay up front for everything. Then on departure they wanted to charge me again for breakfast. It was a miscommunication between staff members obviously but could be better and was a bit embarrassing on my part, having to show on my banking app that I had already paid.
- Dorian (8/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): - Great location, room, food, beer and staff
- Helen (9/5): -
- Benedict (10/5): Great -
- Veronica (8/5): Ask for upstairs room - Lovely place comfortable room
Food was lovely
Staff friendly Downstairs room was noisy with people stomping around upstairs
- Rachel (9/5): -
- Jonathan (8/5): Lovely comfortable stay in a picturesque village location - Bed was super comfortable No shower curtain
- Teresa (10/5): -
- Kerrissimo (8/5): -
- Beverley (7/5): Average stay, lovely staff and beautiful food - Beautiful old property in a beautiful old village Quite cold
- Anderson (10/5): Beautiful place filled with charm, delicious food, and very comfortable. - It's a beautiful pub/hotel located in a quiet offset location, the room was gorgeous and had an attached wet-room with luxurious shower and everything else you could want or need.
The food both in the evening and for breakfast was delightful and the service was excellent.
If you haven't been then make a booking, simply perfect.
- Jes (10/5): Dejligt sted på landet. - Meget hyggelig og er super venligt personale. God mad og fsntastisk morgenmad Det ligger på landet, for nogen er det super optimalt og for andre er det ikke.
- Walvin (8/5): -
- Powell (10/5): -
- Shelagh (9/5): Lovely stay and delicious food. Good overnight stop halfway through our journey. - Breakfast menu slightly misleading. Although excellent food, little choice and rather expensive. Charge for dog was rather expensive.
- Charlotte (3/5): -
- Lewis (9/5): Lovely - The staff are amazing. The room was very comfortable with a great bathroom.
The room is right next to the pub right next to the car park
Really nice surroundings
- Ann (7/5): - Really nice hotel. Great food. The bar and restaurant area was cold. Despite a number of guests raising this and numerous fires and heating. Nothing done. Insufficient staff on duty. Expected to do 2/3 different roles. Bar and reception often not covered.
- Emily (10/5): -
- Helen (9/5): A pleasant stay which we enjoyed, though a little over priced in some ways. - Lovely hotel in very pretty setting. Room very comfortable and spacious, and the food was excellent. There was no chair in the bedroom, so we had to lie or sit on the bed in the evening. The public rooms were a little chilly - the temperature had dropped, and it would have been good if the wood burners had been lit. Breakfast was not included, and was quite expensive for what it included - no refill of coffee offered, and we would normally expect toast and jam/marmalade to be included as well as the cooked breakfast.
- Graham (10/5): -
- Angela (8/5): Excellent location for visitors to the area. - I didn't have breakfast as I had eaten. a very large evening meal. ! My family have been visiting this 'pub' for over 40 years [ not very recently though] as a half way stop for lunch on our journeys from Yorkshire to visit family in Dorset.
My son experienced this from the age of 1 and visited last month as a nostalgic idea. He told me that the food was still excellent and so I decided to overnight there on my return from the family visit to Dorset.
The food was indeed excellent , service good and the room was really good -very well designed with everything needed in a small space . Nothing
- Julie (8/5): Great location, hotel, staff and food. - Liked having a ground floor room as I’d requested. Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): - Nice and quiet location off the beaten track with some interesting history! The staff were great too - helped me with an odd request related to food without there being an issue which was much appreciated. Comfy beds and tasty food :) Nothing!
