Michele (1/5): 3 hour drive to the Nordic Inn & no one was there to check us in. - Never had this happen before. We booked a non refundable night at the Nordic Inn thru booking.com. We received a confirmation email from them, sent a note to the property that our check in time was 5-6pm, which they confirmed however we arrived a little after 5pm and no one was there at check in. There was a note to call Brenda but the phone number didn’t work. We stayed for about 5-10 minutes, left and went to dinner. While at dinner we called, emailed and tried to text the phone number but no one answered. After dinner we went back to the Inn to see if anyone was there but no one showed up. We luckily found a room at Elevation so cancelled the booking and will be disputing the charge. Such a weird thing to not be able to check in your room and for a hotel to not have a working phone number. Long drive to arrive at a hotel with no one working to check us in.

Brad (9/5): Great place for a snowboard trip - Great location, easy walk to the mountain. Nice hot tub on the deck. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Great for a snowboard trip. Very good breakfast options. If I had a better. Was on the opposite side facing away from the mountain on the ground floor.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Parking lot was very slick and would have been better if some salt or sand had been applied.

The water barely came out of the head, most of it came out of the tub spout, and nothing we did was able to make it better. Water temp was also very variable. Also, the Inn did not reply to any of my pre-stay messages. I sent multiple messages asking about parking and early check-in, none of them were replied to. I also called and asked for early check-in multiple times, and was refused with staff saying "we don't do early check in all season", well maybe you should put that on your website. I did not appreciate the lack of communication. It was overall a decent stay, but probably won't stay again due to the issue of early check-in.

Wade (2/5): It was not worth $10 a night let alone the outrageous amount we paid. - The breakfast was mainly microwaveable 7-11 type sandwiches and burritos with some juices and bagels. It was fair but a hot breakfast for the price would have been much better. The king size bed was comfortable. The word “quaint” in this case would mean “run down” and in need of major renovations. There are only staff members at the desk during the normal checkin times. Any other times there is a sign that you are pretty much on your own. You got an actual key for your room reminiscent of the 1980’s. The tv worked 10% of the time with the connection continually going out. Couldn’t complain until final checkout when someone was actually at the desk. The ice machine was out of service so you were out of luck there. The faucet handle on the bathroom sink had to be maneuvered into just the right position for water to come out. The handle came off at least 4 times and had to be carefully put back on. There was no air conditioning just a fan from the 1980’s in the window. The stairs that had to be climbed on the outside had signs warning that the carpet would be repaired in the future. Not sure when the future was going to happen. Walking up that in heels after a wedding was treacherous. I have had better amenities at a Motel 6. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The bed is comfy, the table and chairs are so nice when it's raining or cold and one can stay indoors and warm. A microwave in the room. A shared microwave is very handy in a shared area.the hot tub is amazing! There is a lack of charging points which is understandable given the age of the hotel.

T1298HHnates (2/5): Overcharged followed by horribly unprofessional interaction with GM - We had two bookings (9/22–9/23 and 9/25–9/26, both for two rooms). Our bank account showed four fully posted charges and two refunds totaling about $100 over what our reservations stated. When I called to resolve it, I was directed to someone named Ryan. Ryan was absurdly unprofessional. From the beginning of our call he repeatedly told me it was “quick/ simple math,” and ‘it shouldn’t be that hard for me to figure out or understand’ at points escalated to saying “it’s quick f**ing math,” and even at one point stating, with a raised voice, “DO NOT TALK OVER ME, IT’S F**ING RUDE” after I had quickly pointed out an inconsistency in some info he was relaying. It was shockingly unprofessional, unnecessarily escalated, and aggravating to try and stay calm through. From here I sent an email including screenshots from our bank statement showing the various payments taken and refunds issued as well as my original confirmation emails showing our expected reservation totals. I then clearly outlined the charges, refunds, and overpayment. Ryan responded by simply attaching 3 folio printouts that did not reflect all the charges shown on our bank statement. In these emails he provided no commentary as to the discrepancy that I had outlined or how his documents provided any proof of the lack of an overcharge. From here I sent a follow up email again clearly outlining the various charges, expected reservation totals and the discrepancy and two weeks later we still have no response or resolution. Payment errors can happen, but being cursed at and treated with belittlement, disrespect, and a clear lack of care is unacceptable. This experience was frustrating and shocking and isn’t the type of environment I would want to subject any of my friends and family to. It feels as though Ryan was intent on proving me wrong rather than reviewing all available info and taking the time and due diligence to work through the issue. Ryan could teach a master class in how not to handle any customer service situation.

Discover46404047908 (4/5): So Disappointed! - This may be the first negative review I have ever left for a hotel, despite the fact that we travel between 30 and 60 days a year. We couldn't have been more disappointed in the Nordic Inn. It would be hard to list the number of things broken in the room: the lock for the tiny screen window, the hair dryer, the knob for the bedside cabinet door. The lock on the door didn't work--it had a sign on it not to use it. When I turned the shower on the knob fell right off the handle into the tub. It turned out that it just sat on the spindle without connecting in any way. The carpet was threadbare, filthy, and stained--I actually hated to walk on it with my socks. The carpet on the outside of the room coming up the stairs and in the outside hall was even worse, with large holes in it everywhere. And because the place sits in a ski area it was outrageously expensive. My guess is that it is a place where high school and college kids who are skiing and partying all weekend go to stay and hang out. That's not us, for sure. We expect better.

The is the WORST place I ever “almost” stayed. It is a dump. The pictures are misleading. I wish I had paid closer attention to the reviews. The room was very cold when we walked in. That is because a box fan was in the window and a screen was behind it allowing cold air to come in. It also allowed outside noise to come in or our conservations would have been heard. The only TV was ROKU, carpet old and worn, and very dark and dingy. This is a 1-Star hotel at best. We were supposed to be there 2 days, but left within 5 minutes of checking in. My husband said it was worth the loss of $400 not to stay there. We left and were very fortunate to find another hotel that had 2 nights open and that was heaven. Almost the same price. Please beware of this hotel. I cannot believe this place has ever received good reviews.
Explorer05150517024 (6/5): NOT at all like the photos on their website - I don't want to bad-mouth this place, but I want to warn others that as of September 2025, the hotel is NOT like the photos and old reviews on this website. We stayed there three nights and I would describe the hotel as a clean, dated, two-star hotel in a great location. We had a "Signature King" room which turned out to be an average motel room. We could hear our neighbors through the wall. The deadbolt had a sign on it that read "Do not lock deadbolt". A knob was missing on one of the nightstand doors. The shower faucet came off in my hand. The carpet inside was stained and the one on the outside stairs was torn in several places. The Wi-Fi was unstable and bumped us off a couple of times. Room ventilation was poor. The continental breakfast was not as good as what you would get at the average Super 8. I opened two packets of honey for my muffin and the honey in both packets was solid. The orange juice was essentially orange-colored water. Bottom line, if you're expecting an upscale room with a good breakfast you will be disappointed.

A4543NRstephenk (4/5): A 2-star motel in a 5-star region. - Such a disappointment, and it put a damper over our two-day visit to this gorgeous region. Not only was the carpeting torn on the outside area of the second level, but our room carpeting was stained in multiple places and needs to be replaced. Gross! I assume this is from pets. (We had none but were told that all rooms are “pet-friendly.”) The furniture was worn, and that was the general feel of the room. After a day out in the mountains — again, a wonderful area to explore — and some delightful times in town, we were truly bummed that we had to go back to the Nordic Inn for two nights, but we had passed the allowable advance time for cancellation. The breakfast was meh, and we found coffee in town our second day rather than bother . Two different people manning the front desk at different times were rather vacant/spacey in manner when we had questions, although one was helpful on a third occasion when I needed to know where to buy something in town. I do not want to unfairly ascribe a reason, but it was noticeable. The lobby area was comfy and inviting. The room was not. This is basically a two-star motel.

The girl sitting behind the desk was playing on her computer.. She looked up when I asked if we could check in .. She actually said.. “ Oh I didn’t realize you wanted to check in!” Everyone in the room was standing there waiting to check in .. we couldn’t believe she didn’t realize that!!!To say it is a dump, is an understatement! The place is old and run down.. The rooms pictured on the website are NOTHING like the actual rooms! The “ included” breakfast is - a small compact refrigerator where YOU take out a “ frozen” Jimmy Dean sausage sandwich and microwave it yourself. There was a pot of coffee. We had to stay two nights.. Breakfast is supposed to be from 6:30. - 9:30. We arrived the second morning at 8:00. There was no one there. No food out, nothing to eat! I went into the “kitchen” and took 2 sandwiches out of the freezer so we could eat!!

Michael (6/5): Okay for a quick one night stay. - The Nordic Inn is a charming older motel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. However, the bed was poorly made and there was lint balls on the mattress pad which caused bumps on the fitted sheet. The sheets are thin and I could see the dirt through the sheet. I unmade the bed, removed the lint balls, and remade the bed. The first towel I grabbed out of the shower was stained. The other 3 towels were clean but of poor quality. The free breakfast was very limited but enough to start the morning with. The motel definitely needs a facelift. Nice views!

We especially enjoyed the comfort of the lobby where you can use your hotel room card to purchase a glass of wine or a 2 oz shot of booze. The name may be nordic, but I would call it Bavarian. The door in the bathroom was solid wood and the ceiling was wood. The breakfast room was thoughfully organized and the free breakfast was about as good as you can get without a cook. We live in Colorado and will return again next summer.

I lived in a major Colorado resort for more than a decade, so I understand the pricing of rooms and services - it comes with the territory, however, the price of the room could be more in line with the quality of the accommodations.
