Guest Reviews
- Mary (8/5): - The only thing they need to improve was to provide a dessert with there evening meal, not just a slice of cake abd fruit
- James (10/5): - Clean room with excellent air conditioning; Staff are friendly and always available to help; swimming pool area is safe and clean with plenty of free sunbeds available; evening meals are excellent; location is just a short walk from restaurants and bars and to the beach and to a bus stop with buses running every 20 mins. We have stayed here a few times before and hopefully we will visit again. I highly recommend this hotel.
- Achim (10/5): - Die Zugewandheit des Personals hätte besser sein können , sonst GUTES Preis- Leistungs-Verhältnis .. und toll zudem die Nähe zum Strand- sehr schön!
- Leon (6/5): - The hotel itself is ok, not in the most ideal location and the photos do it more justice than it’s worth ie the view from my room was overlooking a bit of land with a shipping container in the middle. The pool area was closed at 7pm, and the bar closing before 1030pm and the nearest bar being some 25 minute walk away, or 10€ in a taxi. I stayed B&B with the intention of keeping snacks in my room, but a fridge was an additional cost. I didn’t ask the price as I thought it was absurd. My flight home was at 9:45pm, checkout at 1200 so I requested a late checkout by a few hours to be told no, the room is required that day, which I find hard to believe being so late in the year.
My room itself was clean, basic but ok for a single traveller. Bathroom was very cramped and no legroom while sat on the toilet, literally having to sit on it sideways if you’re a bigger person like myself-6ft and 14.4st.
Would I stay here again? Probably not. No bad, insulting reviews intended, but I believe I could get a better, more convenient place for the price I paid, if not a little less
- Emma (4/5): - This hotel is run down and tired. The breakfast is limited and poor quality. The room has no amenities, you have to go to the front desk to ‘borrow’ a hair dryer or an iron and then take it back to the front desk straight after you have used it! The staff make very clear they think you will steal things from the hotel, you also have to give the remote control to the AC unit back to the front desk when you check out. The elevator did not work for the whole stay. This was all round a really poor hotel and I wish we had spent the extra money to stay somewhere nicer. On the positive side, this hotel is very cheap, it is close to a nice coffee shop (Coffee Island) for a nice breakfast, it is a short 10-15 minute walk from the beach which has nice bars for lunch, and close to many restaurants for dinner. Many nicer hotels are much closer to all the same (Sandy Beach hotel, Golden Bay Beach Hotel, Lordos Beach Hotel). I would not recommend this, even for a group on a budget.
- Chrystalla (10/5): - I Have stayed here many times now and every time the staff are very friendly and helpful the rooms are cleaned every day and they work hard to make sure guests have everything they need .. well done
- Creston (2/5): - The property was not as advertised. The staff/management rude and refused to acknowledge the problems and inconsistency with what was advertised and said they would not refund. I had to put in a claim to my credit card company on the second day when I relocated to a more habitable place
- Lambros (4/5): - The ONLY positive is the large Balcony with Seaview. None of the following was ever mentioned prior to booking. Hotel is cheap, stingy and frugal. One towel provided for 4 days and then charge an extra 1euro for additional towels. Medium sized, thin, scratchy and hard. 2euro per day for use of fridge. 3euro for large water bottle!! Breakfast is tasteless with small variety. They yelled at my friend for trying to fill up a small bottle with water from the buffet. Bathrooms-Shower are tiny, made for midgets, We are not small average people and we're having trouble getting ready. I do not recommend and will never return. Pay a little more to get better comfort elsewhere!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Does the job as a ‘base’ - Mariandy is a basic comfortable place. Good location. Has own pool. Opposite a main rd for beach. Some nice local restaurants.
- ???? (8/5): - good choise and relaxing but The toilet floor is slippery and dangerous.
- Robert Douglas (8/5): - A
- Oleg (8/5): - Everything was OK, just we haven't been given to refill the water in the bottle at the dinning room. As we could understand from the hotel rules, it was forbidden to take food and beverage into the hotel room. But does water count as a beverage?
- Raz (10/5): Good place , recommended - Good stay
Great value for money
Some stuff like taps are with some rust , not causing damage
Generally giving more than expected
Nice swimming pool
good neighborhood
Place to eat
- Meir (2/5): - Very unconfutable and boring
- Frank (10/5): - Lovely people and very helpful. Packed up a sandwich as was leaving very early in morning which we have never been offered with other hotels before so a plus for us.
- andy (10/5): - Basic value for money hotel
- Maciej (8/5): 5 minutes walk to the beach! - Mariandy offers a great location—just a 5-minute walk to the beach—with free parking and a simple but decent breakfast buffet. The rooms are outdated, but the price is fair. Perfect for a no-frills stay if you’re prioritizing convenience and value.
- Tímea (10/5): My favorite hotel - Kedvenc szálláshelyem
Nagyon kedvelem a recepciós pasit. Kedves, vendégorientált, figyelmes
- Haseeb (8/5): - Nice service, always available and helpful
- Colin Mark (10/5): - We weren't expecting 5 star but overall we enjoyed our stay with helpful and polite staff. The room was cleaned daily and all our requirements were met with a friendly helpful attitude.
- Suzanne (10/5): - Staff very helpful - and friendly. Bar food very good. Buffet every night if you don't want to walk to a restaurant
- Paul (10/5): Christmas market - Very comfortable but premises a little tired
- Helen (6/5): - Very friendly staff, nice and clean room, dated
- Glenn (10/5): 1 night stay from the U.S - Great staff and food service was outstanding. I will be coming back in 6 months
- Veronika (10/5): 1 night after a night flight to Larnaca - Not a bad hotel for the price. Breakfast was good, staff polite, and they have 24 hour reception
- phillip (8/5): Good value holiday - Family holiday - us with 2 sons and their partners - 3 rooms.
Hotel was in a great location for us. Rooms were in need of some renovation but ok for a 2-star hotel. Breakfast was ok. Pool was fab. Given the price paid we thought the hotel was fair value for money.
We had a good holiday week in Larnaca district based at the Mariandy.
- Nicola (6/5): Cheap as chips - The hotel is old and has seen better days .
It was clean .
We didn't use the pool.
The buffet breakfast was very basic.
- Chrystalla (10/5): - Staff where very helpful and friendly
- Marisa (6/5): - I liked the fact that was away from the busy tourist centre.
Some staff were nice and welcoming. Expecially the guy i checked in with.
Others were acting cold and uninviting.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff very helpful and friendly. Had everything we needed for a short stay with family. Pool especially nice.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We asked to change towels because they didn’t have enough paper to hand out which stated they only change towels every 3 days. We asked for new ones because we had thrown the other ones on the floor assuming they would collect it. They then did not give us new towels and refused even though they Did not tell us they only change them every three days. Lady was very rude
- Emerson (8/5): Marandy lanarca - Nice place. Very clean, nice staff
- D (6/5): Fine for the price - Staff not over friendly but room comfortable and quiet. Not a lot of parking spaces
- Wayne (6/5): - The price was good for what I was looking for. A little further from the airport that I thought and when I asked about a shuttle she said yes only to find out that it was a $35 taxi ride and not a shuttle. Also the bed had no sheets, I found a blanket in the cabinet and used that to sleep on. Good restaraunts nearby.
- Jamie (10/5): - Excellent.
- Hasan (2/5): - The staff are very bed they behaviour is unacceptable they don't respect and they treetly very bed
- Dm (4/5): Disappointing family weekend away - The hotel is terrible. Dirty and needs a huge overhaule.
A hole for toilet door handle, dirty mattresses for my kids to sleep on. The mattress were so bent neither child slept that night. We also had a kettle that never worked, called reception and they told my husband to fetch a new one himself.
I am so disappointed,we redeemed out free nights on this horrible place. We checked out after one night. Receptionist refused to cancel our second night. She was rude and didn’t take well to criticism.
I would appreciate getting my redeemed nights back please so I can uses it on a Hotel that’s worthy.
Hotels.com should remove this hotel from their listing.
- Mariusz (10/5): - location
- Janet (10/5): - Good value for money
As long as you get to breakfast early it’s ok
Hotel is clean
Basic but does the job
- Kirill (10/5): - Good hotel
- Kyriacos (10/5): - The staff were all very friendly. It was very clean. The food was always really nice. Definitely will come back again.
- Stephen (6/5): - We had to ask for a plug for the bath and sink and was only allowed one to share in both. Hotel rooms very tired. Sheets and towels only changed every three days (in a very hot country). Had to pay to hire a fridge. Provided a kettle, cups and glasses but no spoons, no tea, coffee, sugar or milk and when we asked for them were told "You don't get that, this is only a 2* what do you expect". We were on the first floor and opposite the fire exit, which was left open 24/7, so anybody could get in without being noticed. We were B&B and the food was extremely limited and not very hot. We had Air Conditioning in our room but the remote didn't work so it was stuck on full or off, no replacement given.
The manageress was a very nice lady and I'm sure that she would like the hotel to be as best it can be, so I don't blame her.
When we checked out, the receptionist tried to charge us for drinks we buy. I refused to pay, she didn't believe me, but took it off of the bill. Be very careful about what is being charged to your room because you don't have to sign for anything, it's just charged.
Sorry to say that I wouldn't stay again, and it's a shame.
- Rodney (6/5): Nearly great - 90%of staff amazing 1 lady on nights shou not ever be allowed in the pulic sector sh e point refused all requests on the sunday she was rude
- habib (6/5): - A container outside pool closed after 8
- Theo (4/5): - Daily cleaning service and towel change etc was good but things we didn’t like was the breakfast, limited plug sockets in the room, only 2 worked, some staff were unhelpful, toilet was off it’s hinges, swimming pool ladder steps broke off as someone was climbing out, have to pay extra for the safe, the fridge and not allowed to order food in or take breakfast up to your room. Was under charged when checking in and front desk and they thought it was ok to call our room and wake us up at 2.40am instant that we went down at that exact moment to pay the rest and that it couldn’t wait until the morning even though it was only our first night. Staff relatives visiting were allowed to dance on the pool table with staff and kids using the que’s as swords. Staff all around but no hello’s or good mornings etc
- Piotr (10/5): Amazing place for holidays - Amazing staff with outstanding customer service. Very supportive reception, poolside waiters and cleaning team. Whatever we ask for we always get. Absolutely nothing to complain at all. Very good breakfast topped up until 10 am when meal is finished. Hotel bar with good variety of drinks in very good prices. Sunbeds in very good condition. Very nice and clean pool with great warm water. Niece selection of food until 10 pm in the good prices as well. Good public transport with bus stop in front of the hotel. Bus is going every 20 minutes.
- Betty (2/5): - Staff are indifferent to individual guests needs. When I thought it right at 9pm to complain of the discotheque and inappropriate content in the music, the owner questioned “well what can I do? Come down and have a wine”. They were happy they were raking o the money but, showed no concern about their other guests who I know were very unhappy also. The food is blah! When I was leaving the other sister owner after not speaking to me, asks me in a sarcastic tone “why you leaving, you not like our hotel? Absolutely not! Bathroom and shower cubicle was so tiny, you move up or down, yet alone trying to get in out. Terrible all round l! Except for cleaning staff. Good people!
- marios (6/5): maz u,k - it was a pleasant stay good place to have as a base to sleep shower etc tv channel where the same 25 years ago when i lived in cyprus need upto date channels in this day and age cats getting a bit of nonsence pooing by the pool area in the stone chippings
- James (10/5): - Liked it all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A cost effective spring board for Larnaca - A convenient location around 10 km from Larnaca on a major road. Has a decent if basic breakfast that is complimentary which is very good for the price that we paid for. Has a car park and we had no difficulty, although we did travel in March. Would be tricky for someone without a car as there are very few amenities or attractions close by. For us it was a perfect springboard to explore Larnaca, Ayia Napa and their surroundings
- Peter (10/5): - The rooms were small but that really didn’t matter. The employees were phenomenal and focused on customer satisfaction. The breakfast was second to none. The WiFi was also very good. Highly recommended. I’ll return again
- Peter (10/5): - A hidden gem
- Artur (10/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel in good location. Rather small but clean rooms. Good breakfast. Excellent choice for budget accommodation near Larnaca.
- Nahed (2/5): Only stay as a last result. - very disappointed with the facilities including having to make my own bed, torn bed sheets, and lack of tea/coffee facilities including a kettle in the room (although we were told they would be provided). The mattress was hard which affected my sleep, we were also promised toothbrushes, toothpaste, and a bar of soap that was not provided, so we ended up spending extra money for them. The bath towel was stained and we felt offended that there was a daily charge for renting a fridge!!!
I was even charged 1.80 for a tea bag that I refused to pay for, instead, the local restaurant gave me some for free and even better quality once. The breakfast was very disappointing and even gave me diarrhea on my return home.
Some staff was friendly, whilst others had attitude problems.
- Kyriacos (8/5): - Was very clean. Staff very friendly. Convenient into town
- Helen (8/5): - Basic hotel nice pool area friendly and efficient staff, good value
- Jonathan (4/5): One big dissapointment - Apon arrival the receptionist couldn't find my booking & wasn't understanding. She gave me a double room on the first floor, which didn't have a kettle & tea & coffee & the toilet wouldn't flush ! Also the bath plug wouldn't come out, so i couldn't drain the bathtub. Also very noisy hotel as heard loud nosie coming from nextdoor & banging doors late at night ! Not acceptable at all for a two star hotel !
- Jamal (2/5): - The Hotel I booked was a mistake
Never was able to stay because Your serch engine threw me out from AyaNapa city to pyla which is 45 kilometers away and when I realized and call you your phone line was temporary out of service so I could not contact anyone at customer service??!!
I used Expedia before mmany time s bit no more!!!!
Please refund my card I did not stay in that Hotel!!!?😌
Otherwise I leave a heafty feedback so eveBody knows?!
- Clint (10/5): - Great hotel, friendly, helpful staff.. Hotel has what you need for a get away..
Already booked for Jan break..
- Katie (10/5): Summer holiday at Mariandy - The staff were so helpful, especially Nick who was always smiling and would go out of his way to ensure all our needs were met.
The parking area always had spaces to park the car. The hotel is clean, with room cleaning taking place everyday. Also, the hotel is in a great location.
- Rudolph (6/5): cats in common areas - Hotel was not bad ...breakfast very very basic .2 cats were runnig in public areas in hotel and going around tables during breakfast .Not good for hygiene with cats around even in resturant area during breakfast
- Matt (10/5): Mariandy Hotel review - I was advised to stay at the Mariandy by Alpha divers as it is bacically next door to their centre. The hotel was clean with friendly staff. I had room 212 at the rear of the hotel. Room was fine with good beds, air conditioning, plenty of storage space, balcony and a decent bathroom with shower. There was no tea/coffee facilites in the room as expected but if I had asked for a kettle one would have been supplied! Toilet was very tight to the bath which was a design fault in my view. There was no english speaking TV or radio stations available as expected. Due to the government restrictions there was no proper breakfast available but instead I was give a nice roll, apple, boiled egg and filled croissant every morning which was fine. Nice pools at the front cleaned daily. A nice coffee shop more or less opposite along with a decent supermarket. WI-FI in the hotel was awful but it appeared there was a problem with the system which was due to be fixed. I have not hesitation in rebooking and staying at the Mariandy for any future trips to Cyprus. Overall rating 6/10
- Mohammed (6/5): Sea view with reasonable price. - Fine hotel in quiet part on Dekelia road. Nice pool.
Very helpfull staff.
- Karen (10/5): - We enjoyed ourselves completely, room was spacious and comfortable for our weeks stay
We stayed half board food was enjoyable to us needs warming up a bit , if you ask they will do for you .
Staff were friendly and advised us of times of buses ect , there is an airport bus that takes you close to hotel for a couple cost 3 euros.
Overall would go back close to beach , bus to larnaca regular and ayia napa , quiet relaxing
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Good room considering it’s a two star hotel, although I would have liked more than a sheet to sleep with.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was lovely and clean, staff friendly. There wasn't anything bad, apart from my shower in my room, it was small
- ian (8/5): Good value - Good value for price
- Furruqh (10/5): Family friendly hotel - Friendly staff, excellent location, walking distance to restaurants, easy access to places via bus.
Good breakfast and swimming pool.
Offered breakfast boxes to children as were leaving early in the morning.
Best value for money.
Definitely recommend others to stay in the hotel.
- Florina (10/5): Family summer holiday - We had a very nice time at Mariandy hotel.Excellent service and very nice staff. For 3 stars it is very good and very clean😊
- YONG (10/5): Budget rooms in Larnaca - Close to bus station, room is clean with nice pools in the garden. Free breakfast is also included
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A nice quite location which will be ideal for summer months, a bit isolated during other times of the year, but close enough to town.
It has all the necessary facilities and it will look great if the outside gets painted.
- Dmitri (10/5): Good Place to Stay - Nice two star hotel. I got what expected.
- SUSAN (8/5): Stopover night. - We stay here fairly regularly, but usually only for a night, because it's near the airport. So we don't always get to use the facilities. They are reasonably priced, and breakfast isn't too bad. It's only a two star, so you can't expect too much. The beds are quite comfortable, which is the main thing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were very helpful and polite. Accommodating as I needed an earlier breakfast. Provided excellent pack lunches too. For a business trip, I would highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very affordable, clean, beautiful pool, staff are nice and helpful and great location near the beach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I just stayed for one week here; it is a nice hotel , very nice and friendly staff members, always polite. It was quiet , close enough to the town and the breakfast was excellent.. The car park always had spaces. Would recommend anytime.it is a very good value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - For the price this is a great hotel. The hotel is a little old and can use a paint job, the furniture is a little worn out. You do get a breakfast with the room it is ok just don't expect any thing fancy for the price and don't compare it to a 5 star hotel. That said the rooms, and the bathrooms are clean, I have staid there on several occasions and nothing went missing out of my room that was very important for me, and the staff are very friendly and sweet, it felt like a second home.
Other than that the public beach is a 2 or 3 minute walk from the hotel, there are a few good restaurants and a bowling ally within walking distance from the hotel which makes it convenient. Finikoudes and Mackenzie though are far away but whats good is that you can take the bus from in front of the hotel to both of those locations and you even can go all the way to the airport on that same bus route.
- christopher (10/5): - Fantastic location very close to the beach, Supermarket and Coffee shop within a few minutes of Hotel, This hotel is more for Solo and Couples not geared up as other hotels for family's, For me it was very good value for money, Staff very friendly and helpful, Nice breakfast and better value and a better Hotel than other Hotels in Larnaca, I would certainly stay here again, Bargain Hotel i enjoyed my stay very much and i could not be any happier for the price range this is one of the top Hotel's to stay for price, Don't expect the Ritz but for the Money its top of my list for Budget hotels.
- Sally (8/5): Mariandy Hotel - We stayed for one night, good ac, comfy bed, decent breakfast and friendly staff. Close to shops and restaurants.
- Steve (8/5): Nice hotel with swimming pool - Friendly staff
Nothing too much trouble
Would not hesitate to book again
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay - It was pleasant stay in Mariandy Hotel, it’s bit far from the airport. Bus No.425(about 45mins)from the airport.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel in Cyprus - Nice hotel with Good service!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Don’t go there! - Stay wasn’t good, hotel dirty and needed a lot of maintenance and better service skills.
- Christine (8/5): Average hotel a little tired - Good location although shops restaurants etc about 5 - 10 minutes walk away. Hotel was good although looking a little tired. We opted not to eat in we had a look at the dinner buffet and decided to eat out. Breakfast was not bad but nothing special. Some people in the hotel at breakfast were struggling with children as there were no highchairs available.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room had water stains on the ceiling and bathroom - are they in the middle of referb. The hotel looked tired, mirrors cracked in the lift etc. The breakfast was very basic, however overall good value for the money and a good location.
- Anastasia (8/5): clean and the service was very good - Our stay at the mariandy was nice and relaxing I do recommend this hotel
- Hannah (6/5): Average hotel in a good area - My friends and I stay at this hotel for 4 nights. It was perfect for us because we wanted to be close Larnaca and Ayi Napa. We rented a car because we desired to travel around the Island to see sites but it seems there are other options of transportation around the area (mostly public buses) with bus stops near the hotel. The hotel had parking if you desire and the main street Dekhelia has many pubs and restaurants. I HIGHLY recommend the Indian restaurant close by, good prices, great food and friendly staff.
The hotel has a nice pool with chairs and a bar, they also have a pool table and couches in the lobby with other games. Wifi is 3 Euros a day and ONLY free IF you spend 10 Euros at the bar. Breakfast is included and they have dinner available. Breakfast was nothing special but a nice addition, we did not try dinner but it smelled really great each time we past the buffet.
Rooms are slightly better than what you pay for. I mostly didn't like the room because it had this awkward sliding bathroom door. Great balcony view of the ocean.
- nabel (2/5): so bad experiences - I really didnt stay in the hotel I couldnt stay .ist that bad yes and alot more I payed for 5 nights but I stayed just 2 h this hotel is no where I really cant call it hotel .
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap and cheerful like much of Cyprus - For the money I have no complaints, the building was slightly shoddy but no more than most in Cyprus. Staff were friendly and helpful, good location on the strip. I stayed off season for a few nights so the price was cheap - if you were on a proper beach holiday I would suggest splashing out a bit more for something slightly more luxurious.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value - Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean rooms and really good evening meals (even though there is no choice!). Breakfast is a very basic buffet style with limited choice. The pool area (main pool, kids pool and bar) is well maintained and the bar is reasonably priced.
The one thing letting this place down is the rundown look of the corridors on the upper floors.
Overall the Mariandy, at less than £30 per night, represents very good value. Although it is not perfect it is a good budget hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Mariandy hotel - The room was very nice, comfortable bed, very nice swimming pool, staff very helpful. The breakfast is poor and the lift is small and needs renovation.
- Helen (6/5): Good value, no thrills, good location! - We booked a last minute 1 night stay. It was excellent value for money. The bar prices were very good, especially for a hotel. The room was very clean, so what was lacking in the condition of the hotel, was more than made up for. Continental style breakfast was adequate. The location was good with nearby restaurants (incl Balti House & Masalas - excellent), & bars.
- Verified traveler (8/5): comfortable stay - Comfortable stay, TV channels were all Cypriot except Euronews, need to cater more to foreign visitors. Evening meal was quite good for 8 Euros.
- Mr President (8/5): As a reasonably priced hotel. It met expectations - Hotel is in the lower end of prices but it was clean and reasonably well maintained.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Modern friendly - Refurbished hotel at the heart of Larnaca tourist area with friendly personnel. 100m from the beach with nice views. Swimming pool and bar were not operational but was winter. We expect improvements on the hotel public areas incl. swimm pool as summer is coming.
- Verified traveler (8/5): one night layover - hotel room was clean and suitbale for our two seperate night stays overs in Larnaca
- Verified traveler (6/5): simple but okay - Hotel was being worked on for the season and most corridors looked run down. Rooms are newly done and are a good value for the price. Good value for money.
