• Paul (7/5): - The door code was amazing and made checking in as simple as opening a door! It definitely needed a good cleaning. Their were underwear and shorts already under one of the beds and the one bathroom was out of hand soap and had a used wash cloth on top the shower curtain.

• Janie (3/5): I will not stay there again. - Room #5 has an extremely small bathroom. The microwave and toilet paper holder were broke. I did call to see if we could be moved to another room and I was told there was no availability. It was a rainy weekend and a lot of the rooms were vacant so I’m not sure why they would t move us but I will not stay there again. Broken microwave and toilet paper holder. Very small bathroom in room #5.

• Ashley (8/5): - It was perfect for a short stay! For being animal friendly I was pleasantly surprised how clean the room smelled. It is definitely an aged hotel but was totally cool with that. I loved the layout with 2 sitting tables. The beds were comfortable and had a nice large newly tiled stall shower. We are big into fishing so couldn't get any better with the location. Plus being able to open our back door and walk right out to the dock to fish on the sound. This hotel is not fancy by any means, like original OBX style which we liked. Would stay here again. With the location being right off the road from the bridge heading to Manteo, you'll hear a lot of traffic outside. We were on the bottom floor and could hear all the moves the people above us were making.

• Christina (5/5): Location good, condition not so much - Location was good. We really like the place and have stayed several times. Sad that cleaning was lacking. Owners really need to make some repairs. Bugs in bathroom, living room flooded when it rained, remote/TV in smaller bedroom still broken(stayed in same room last year), bed was uncomfortable, mattress needs replacing, sofa is worn out same as mattress, the place needs a deep clean. The amount of dust on fans and baseboards was ridiculous. I actually tried to clean up before the others in our party arrived. I had to defrost the refrigerator before we could fit our food inside.

The box springs need new covers(one on the king-size bed has several rips in it. Ceiling fans need dusting, and the exhaust fan in the bathroom needs to also be cleaned. Baseboards in the bedrooms and closets need to be cleaned. Recommend getting a luggage holder for each room

• Angie (10/5): - I cleaned vacation rentals in Southport NC for many years this room needs a deep cleaning. Walls are dirty air conditioner unit is full of mold. An air cleaner was provided but it needs cleaning too. Everything needs deep cleaning!

• melissa (4/5): Disappointed - Location was good The room was not clean.Bathroom was really bad.Floors left our feet black we put down towels at our bed to clean our feet that was only 1 hr after arriving We arrived at 11pm the curtain on the windows didn't fit the windows so we had to hang a bed sheet for privacy We did take pictures of this as we called and no one ever brought the right curtains.They did come at 4 pm to "clean" We have stayed here before that's why we came back this time was a big disappointment we paid to much for it not to be kept up

There’s no one at the property, you have to call a number to check in and they initially gave me the wrong key code and we had to call back. It was filthy, it had soap/shampoo dispensers that were all empty, the floor was so dirty it turned my kids’ socks black. There was sand in the sheets. The road noise was insane. WORST BOOKING MISTAKE I’VE EVER MADE!! I’ve always trusted booking.com but now I’m always going to be skeptical.

Now we got there early and my wife had a upset stomach so I asked for a early check in and the contact for the place said she would check that she couldn’t the room had been cleaned and we could do it. She told me she would call back and never did. I know for a fact the room was already cleaned so she could have let us in so very unprofessional by not responding back. I would not go back based on that experience and that only I would not recommend nor go back and that’s asshame because we go there 6 to 7 times a year and really liked the double room. • Jack (9/5): Stayed for a USS Kitty Hawk reunion, our room and view was excellent - Arrived a little later than expected, wasn't sure how to check in Staff were professional and assisted me with courtesy and kindness and got me in the right direction to get into our room. (Even though they had to of been done for the day and were leaving the facility) The only complaint would be dumpster being picked up prior to 5am but with the horrible traffic I can understand why it needed to be done as early as possible.
• Heather (2/5): Dirty Nasty Bug infested rooms - This hotel is disgusting. There were tiny black ants everywhere including on the bed, food on the floor (goldfish cracker) flying insects in the shower. Looked like it had not been cleaned. DO NOT stay here!!!!

• Rogers (5/5): - Close to ocean size of room The lake/ puddle that had to park in, the trip hazzard where the floor is coming up in the room, nice shower but no where to put my shampoo and these things, 2nd floor. Price was high I think for room. It is showing it's age we stayed there about 10 years ago and it was amazing.

• Ashley (2/5): - Walked in to a disaster. Of course we couldn't reach anyone and our attempts were ignored. Floor was covered in dirt and pet hair. Fridge had smelly old fishing bait left behind. Toilets were unclean and had trash at the base. Toilet paper dispensor was dirty. One bathroom had a dirty bandaid stuck to the soap dispensor in the shower. We found fleas and roaches. Pulled back the sheets and saw a massive amount of pet and people hair. Furniture all all surfaces were filthy. Everything has to be wiped down and swept. We even made sure to get new linens to use. The accommodations were beyond disappointing. One thing that is not in their control is the road noise. It was so l Ioud we didnt sleep. Had to blare the TV if we decided to watch anything. The parking is also a mess and very tight. My husband and I had to clean the rooms. I paid over $1,000 for 2 nights. This is insane to accept thats what you get for over $1,000. Also we paid the pet fee to bring my 12lb mini dachshund which caught kennel cough. I obviously cannot confirm its from the stay but the conditions and amount of pet hair leads me to believe their cleaning routine after a pet stay is minimal or nonexistent. It was an absolute disaster staying there.

The sink didnt drain properly, the shower head wasnt ideal, bed was uncomfortable and you could feel the springs, stains on the sheets, and not enough parking spots.

• ana magnona (5/5): Unattented place, nobody there to solve problems - the location, very nice, directly beside the water, room looked sweet - there is no staff in the hotel and ALL the guests there were surprised they had to call to check in, it took us maybe 20 min on the phone coz we got put on hold 3 times booking.com should mention this BEFORE the booking, the place is absolutely unattented - when we finally got the code to our room, we were standing in a lake of water from the fridge, it didn t work and it was almost 100 degrees outside and we paied 106$ per night. we had to take out the melting ice from the fridge, see picture. - and on top of this, the wifi didn t work at all, we got messages that a permit or something expired 12 days ago

• OBXQUEEN (3/5): Nope! - The view. The bed was actually the most comfortable one we have slept on in 25 years going to the OBX! The room smelled of stale cigarettes and mold. Hit you in the face when you walked in. It was not advertised as a smoking room. There was only one filthy chair to sit on and no table. Fridge was dirty. Hair and dirt all on shower walls, grout falling out. The bed frame was rusted to the floor. We stayed outside as much as we could to avoid the room.
