Guest Reviews
- Janie (10/5): -
- Natasha (7/5): Very comfy and peaceful, staff was great, hotel was clean, breakfast needs an upgrade! - The bed was super comfy, the hotel was very clean and quiet. Staff was very nice and helpful. I loved that check out time isn't until noon! That made the whole process much easier. The room was good size and I'm glad the windows opened so it wasn't stuffy. Appreciated the Wi-Fi as well! We were not impressed with the breakfast. There was no liquid creamer for coffee, the eggs were watery, biscuits were dry and I can't say I've ever seen fried bologna served at a hotel. Parking was limited. For the price I wish there was a pool or more amenities.
- Janie (10/5): - Never disappointed N/A
- Aaron (10/5): Great location and comfortable hotel experience. Would recommend. - Excellent Amenities. Good breakfast. Very nice place to stay

Love to have had sausage gravy in morning (but thats just ME)
- Susan (10/5): We had a wonderful stay. Staff was amazing and made our dogs and us feel welcome. Breakfast was great. - I loved everything about the property. It was right off the main road just a couple of miles from where I needed to pick up my new puppy. Everything was wonderful.

Shannon Kendrick was exceptional in booking the stay for me. Shannon went above and beyond answering questions and making the stay truly outstanding. I will be choosing Sleep Inn again as a result.
- Beth (9/5): Welcoming nest of comfort. - The staff was awesome and the room was clean and orderly. Nice standard predictable hotel room The sink was clogged and even after the friendly staff tried to fix it it was still clogged.

- meilind2025 (10/5): Best Possible Stay in Clintwood - Overall, my stay in Clintwood has been amazing!! I stayed here for 3 weeks and enjoyed my time. Especially the manager Josh. He took the time to get to know each guest. He always went above and beyond to make sure they had what they needed. He even called the state park to tell them about a nest of yellow jackets that a guest reported. I can tell he deeply cares about people and the community!!
- Yurek (10/5): Exceptional - Josh and Sabrina best front desk people . Customer service was great. Nothing
- Lisa (10/5): - Excellent location in Downtown Clintwood. Very friendly staff. Wonderful waffles and Chobani in the morning with other breakfast items as well. We will return when visiting again. Thank you !!

- Relax33757375241 (10/5): Outstanding Stay Thanks to Shannan! - I’ve been staying at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Clintwood on and off for the past three years for work, and I can’t say enough good things about this hotel—especially because of Shannan. She is truly the heart of this place. Every time I return, she makes me feel welcome and taken care of. No matter what I need, she’s always there with a friendly attitude and a willingness to help.
Shannan goes above and beyond to make sure guests are comfortable, and it’s that kind of care and consistency that keeps me coming back. The rooms are always clean, the environment is quiet and relaxing, and the service is top-notch. But it’s Shannan’s exceptional hospitality that really sets this place apart.
Highly recommend this hotel, especially if you value great service and a personal touch!
- Teresa (10/5): Excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Highly professional staff and nice rooms. - Breakfast-excellent
Breakfast staff- excellent, friendly, highly competent, kept all food stocked, food clean and warm/cold appropriatelhy The staff, rooms, common areas were neat, well maintained, very pleasant.
The room and linens were clean and neat.
The only improvement that applies to all hotels we have stayed in at various price levels is that hotels in general have stopped thorough cleaning of the carpets and tile floors. Tile and vinyl floors should be mopped and sanitized before new guests are assigned to rooms. Carpets should be vacuumed and cleaned before new guests are assigned. This hotel was cleaned as well as any we have been at. Our comment applies to the hotel industry in general.
- Shenikqua (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Overall a nice stay. - The breakfast was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful!
- jessepK2712YM (10/5): Best hotel ever been in - This hotel is Very friendly. Always willing to help out with anything we need and very friendly ever time you return to the hotel
- Walter (10/5): - Great place to stay.
- JAMES (10/5): - Nice bed and linens. Good nights sleep!
- Michael (10/5): - The two young ladies Shannon with the fancy fingernails and the I think house keeping Lilly?. Were perfect examples of Southern hospitality and charm. Most important they have fried bologna for breakfast! Just need some Dukes Mayo and Sauers mustard for the perfect bologna and egg sandwich!
- Leslie (10/5): Josh and the staff are fantastic - Everything
- Robin (10/5): - Very nice, in town center, walk to Jetty Baker Center for music show or view Ralph Stanley museum.
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): - Easy check-in, friendly and quite nights sleep.
- Cameron (10/5): Very nice long weekend in sleepy little Clintwood. - Quiet, friendly and convenient. Walking distance to Mexican restaurant, music shop, Food City, and Ralph Stanley museum . The second floor hallway has a smoky odor, even though it is a non smoking facility. The room had no odors and was great, so the hallway didn’t bother me.
- Robyn (10/5): - Hometown friendly people
- Dianne (10/5): Very nice stay! - Nice folks, clean, food awesome. The woman who runs the kitchen does a fantastic job!
- Angela (1/5): It was not pleasant - It was just ok We had a heard of elephants running across the floor of the room above us for the last 2 days and nights until we checked out. We were in town to bury my mom and had no rest on the last 2 days we wanted to try to sleep in before visiting family later during the days. The hotel staff stated they asked the family on numerous occasions during our stay to calm down the noise and the request officially didn’t work.
- Bob (9/5): Superb -
- Monica L (10/5): - Room was really
Nice and spacious. Employees were very friendly, as always!

- David (8/5): - Staff were great. Rooms need refreshed and could use a deep clean. Overall not bad
- Rick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (6/5): Clean, cozy, comfortable room. Service could improve. - Very good location, very clean in the room. Cozy and comfortable. Bed was soft and pillows abound. Very happy with the room itself. The hotel had a bit of a dingy feel in the lobby, elevator, and hallways. Carpet was the main contributor in the elevator as it was disgusting. Staff were very friendly, if only you could find them. Arrived late at night, exhausted and had to stand at front desk for 20 minutes while attendant was in restroom. That theme was recurring for the entire visit. There was never anyone at the front desk. Always had to ring a bells and stand there and wait for someone to come. Also had 5 room keys fail on me and each time required an extra trip to go stand and wait at the front desk. Let’s just say I became very familiar with the lobby during my stay.
- mark (10/5): - Staff is great.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Very nice staff, clean and I will stay there again.
- Walter (10/5): - Nice room, clean and comfortable bed. Staff was excellent. The breakfast was excellent, as was the breakfast staff preparing the food. Will stay again when in the area.
- Anne (8/5): Very good -
- A4821NWgeorgel (10/5): Excellent hospitality, clean spatious rooms, delicious breakfast - We were pleasantly surprised to find a brand new modern hotel in this small town in the foothills of the Appalachia mountains. We were visiting our daughter and her husband who recently moved to the area. Our stay was very nice. The hospitality of the staff was warm and friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was delicious. We will definitely choose this hotel every time. We highly recommend the Clintwood Sleep Inn.
- Tiffany (7/5): Good -
- Matthew (8/5): Nice place - Friendly staff. Good breakfast
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kaye (10/5): Went to do family research in this town. - Friendly staff and very clean Not a thing!
- Penny (6/5): I had to change rooms because of the order. Smells like dog - The was not what l expected! The staff was very friendly The parking was really bad not many places to park
- Dr. (9/5): Superb -
- Roger (6/5): - Air conditioner way too loud!
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Amanda (10/5): - Friendly, and clean
- Douglas (8/5): - I really liked the resident cat.
- mark (10/5): - Place was great, staff wonderful, obly EV charging staions across the street for 60 miles or more.
- Hugozona (9/5): A very nice stay in the heart of Appalachia! - This Sleep Inn was a very clean, well run property. The rooms were well maintained and very clean. Lots of tender, loving care given to the property by the owners. Nice! They have limited parking due to their location next to the new roundabout. It wasn't much of a problem, but they will make you aware of it when you check in.
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carper (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great from the staff, cleanliness, and even the bed was comfy! Check in was 3pm --- an earlier option would be nice.
- robin (10/5): - We had a king suite and it was amazing with so much room and a toilet high enough that one didn’t feel they needed help getting up and down!
- Christina (10/5): - Great property for the price! There was some sort of black dirt on the wall, but other than that a good experience.
- Rebecca (10/5): Nice, quiet, and very pleasant stay! - Love the rooms! The staff was so incredibly sweet! Also,Choice the Cat is the sweetest! I have no complaints!
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great property; hope to stay there again when I am in the area. - Great location! The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was great—more than I expected. It worked out but I could not quite figure out the air conditioner. It was not bad. And it was on me that it was really too late at night to ask. I still slept well.
- Kenneth (10/5): Great stay, comfortable stay and the staff was great. - The room was large and clean. It was in a central location for our trip. The staff was great. I don’t have any comments for this part.
- Bridgette (10/5): Exceptional - Service! Josh went above and beyond to make sure that we had an excellent stay. It's hard to find customer service like that. Josh was amazing!!
- Nesa (1/5): upsetting, disgusted and pathetic. The ride home was very tough. - With in 20 seconds of entering room, the owner shows and ordered us to leave.
I posted when I reserved room that I had a service animal. He said he saw no such thing.
He said no pets allowed. I tried to talk with him about it but he refused. I said that the dog is a service animal. Not a pet. He's a very good working dog first then a pet. I had proper paperwork too. He said he was interested in it. I tried to explain the law. He said I was lying about the dog and paperwork. The dog made a small noise for approximately 10 seconds. He said trained animals do not make any noise. I again try to explain that a service does and will make noise if their owner falls, is starting to have a seizure, or even a panic attack. After driving for 4 hours approximately we were forced to continu our ride home bak to Belleville (next to Detriot Metro airport.
We have NEVER experience such a rude, nasty owner/manager.
To make matters worse my friend who was with began to have an anxiety attack. She is the one in need of the service dog. It was an exausting trip home. Everthing!!! Educate this man on the law ASAP!
- robin (8/5): - The staff were warm and welcoming. The room next to us had a dog left alone inside the room and he kept barking with another dog down the hall but the staff found the owners and had them come back and then called me to let me know that which I appreciated.
- Rivera (7/5): Good - Everything is good, just a weird smell in the room, mostly on the beds
- Jeanita (10/5): - Staff is always friendly
- A1264RQjohnr (10/5): 10/10 would recommend - Great beds, everything was very clean. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back to visit. Clintwood is a great little town and the sleep inn is very conveniently located.
