Designed to be totally private with a very short walk to the beach. I highly recommend this property and take half board as the chef is excellent! Nothing.

The food was delicious; we booked half-board and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at Zanzi. Lunch was available on the activities we booked. We especially enjoyed the wide menu of easy-to-book tours and activities on the island. Enjoyed a fantastic Stone Town & Spice Tour day, and two snorkeling expedition days. No need for a car!

Essen: Bestes Frühstück!!! Umwerfende Auswahl und top Qualität. Dinner: Nur sehr selten beim 3-Gang-Menü nicht zufrieden gewesen. Getränke: Top Getränkeauswahl und Qualität, sehr leckere Varianten Hibiskustee. Strand: Wer hier her kommt, kommt nicht wegen der Strände, die sind an anderen Orten Sansibars deutlich schöner. Hier verbringt man Zeit wegen der außerordentlichen Privatsphäre, der Ruhe, des wundervollen gepflegten tropischen Gartens und des exzellenten Services und auch wegen des sehr guten Essens. Klagen auf sehr hohem Niveau, aber: Die besonders am Vormittag erhebliche Rauchentwicklung von Feuerstellen AUSSERHALB des Resorts, auf die das Resort grds. KEINEN Einfluss hat, war im Bereich der Villa 7 sehr nervig. Ein Aufenthalt im Freien vor der Villa war nur sehr eingeschränkt möglich, da der beißende Rauch einen vertrieb. Leider hatten wir dieses Ärgernis an allen 5 Tagen.

• Debbie (7/5): Paradise which would have been perfect with a better night's sleep! - Such a beautiful place! I fell in love with the resort as soon as I arrived! Dinner was good in the evening. I loved the villa and its surroundings! Most of the staff were very friendly! Unfortunately a noise woke me up at 4.30 am and I couldn't go back to sleep resulting in only 5 hours sleep! I mentioned it at checkout but they said there was nothing that could be done as it was their neighbours. If it wasn't for that I would already have booked my next stay with them! Also my bed was very creaky and I was sleeping alone, and the pillows were poor quality too!

While the resort itself is quite amazing with incredible views and very private experience, the beach is very rocky and can’t be enjoyed as well as in other locations on Zanzibar.

• Kevin (10/5): Un véritable coin de paradis ! - Un séjour absolument parfait ! L’hôtel est idéalement situé et notre chambre offrait une vue splendide sur la mer, à perte de vue. Le canapé face à l’horizon créait une atmosphère idyllique, et le jacuzzi privé était un vrai plus pour des moments de détente uniques. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié le petit canapé extérieur, parfait pour profiter du calme et de la douceur du lieu. La plage de sable blanc juste en bas est magnifique, propre et paisible, idéale pour se relaxer du matin au soir. Le personnel est exceptionnel : hyper attentionné, chaleureux, gentil et toujours serviable. On sent qu’ils mettent tout en œuvre pour que le séjour soit parfait. Le wifi fonctionne très bien, ce qui est appréciable pour rester connecté sans difficulté. Nous recommandons cet établissement sans la moindre hésitation. Un vrai petit coin de paradis !

• Stephane (8/5): Un véritable havre de paix ! - J’ai passé un séjour exceptionnel au Zanzi Resort Private Paradise. Tout était parfaitement pensé pour le confort et la détente. Les menus du soir étaient un vrai plaisir : chaque dîner proposait des plats différents et d’une grande qualité, tant sur le plan gustatif que visuel. Mention spéciale également pour les cocktails, excellents et toujours bien présentés. La villa, moderne et très bien agencée, offrait un espace à la fois élégant et fonctionnel, idéal pour se relaxer dans une ambiance luxueuse et intime. En résumé, un lieu magnifique, une cuisine de haut niveau et un service irréprochable. Je recommande sans hésiter ce petit coin de paradis à tous ceux qui recherchent une expérience unique et reposante Je n’ai pas eu de point négatif particulier, mais pour améliorer encore l’expérience, il serait agréable d’avoir une enceinte autonome dans la villa pour pouvoir écouter de la musique. Seul petit bémol : la plage mais un peu difficile d’accès à marée basse (coraux) .
• Josie LAVasconcelos (9/5): A small paradise for intense relaxation - The hotel is surrounded by a forest in an isolated area of the island, which makes the hotel a small paradise. Trees and green are everywhere, and the beach is somewhat private due to its isolation. The room was also super cosy and reserved. The food was great and they put a lot of effort in accommodating our plant-based diet. Both Given and Kombo were superb hosts during our stay. While we told them weeks in advance about our plant-based diet, we were still negatively surprised on the first night: they were not aware and the experience wasn't great. It would be great to have a few buffet-like options for a quicker meal. The sea front was gorgeous, but the beach is actually small and not quite like the ones we see in the pictures of Zanzibar.

• Happiness (10/5): - The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We always looked forward to the meals because the food was delicious and great conversation with the staff. They made us feel at home, I wished we had stayed longer! It was my fiance’s birthday and they made it as special as possible, they made him his favourite dish and had a birthday song performance that left him beaming from ear to ear. It was truly a memorable stay at Zanzi. A beautiful hideaway from the world, the villa was spectacular and private. We look forward to coming back again.

After 13 years it has retained all its original charm and exclusivity as well as privacy of its guests It has been a privilege to visit again and see how it and its surrounding wonderful gardens have matured Thank you to All the staff who were most welcoming - Kombo i am so proud of you after all these years. Chef John - thank you for the amazing food. Alex your service and smile was wonderful GM Ana did not make an effort to meet or greet even walking directly past me when checking out. Fortunately all the staff were amazing and made up for her bad manners and lack of hospitality. This is not the Zanzi Resort standard

The property also lacks recreational activities — for instance, there were no yoga sessions or similar offerings. Additionally, the swimming pool was often full of bugs, likely due to the filtration system being turned off in the evening.

This was our 20th year anniversary treat so we spent a little extra but never imagined we would enjoy everything so much. We left this little paradise without a single complaint and their attention to every detail of the experience shows. We stayed in a ocean access villa. The view is incredible and it is in a completely secluded garden that is so far from feeling like a resort with no character. Nothing. It was genuinely perfect.

Every evening, we were treated to stunning sunsets from the jetty, and we were lucky enough to spot dolphins a few times, which made the experience even more magical. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always made sure we felt cared for throughout our stay. The cuisine was exquisite, and the cocktails were both creative and delicious. Everything was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained. A particularly special moment was the unexpected visit from a family of monkeys, which added to the sense of being immersed in nature. This was, without a doubt, one of the most memorable and heartwarming vacations we’ve ever had. We will cherish these moments for a long time. Nothing !!!

There were kayaks but no stand up paddle.
• Елена (7/5): Good - I liked that the hotel is located in the forest - it’s very atmospheric, there is wildlife on the territory. Individual villas provide a sense of privacy and tranquility. Delicious food and beautiful presentation. Free ordering of food to your room is a separate plus when you want privacy. Friendly staff Villa 2 is a bit worn out. The room has an air conditioner with black spots inside (looks like mold). The administrator said that there will be reconstruction soon. The smell of burning caused discomfort one morning, making it impossible to be outside. They said it could be from a military base nearby. There was a lack of privacy. I arrived alone and wanted to take a walk alone or sit on the pier, by the communal pool. Everywhere I was overtaken by the Massai, who wanted to communicate and did not allow me to be alone (and I only wanted to wander or sit in silence). It’s difficult to be alone somewhere in the territory. It was impossible to swim from the shore due to the low water level, and the pier is not suitable for comfortable entry and exit into the water, unfortunately

Nothing, everything was perfect ) Good to know that the beach is quite small and it is wiser to have aqua shoes as the entrance to the water might be a bit stony.

• Williamramirez (10/5): Perfect honeymoon spot! Great quality, nice location, perfect staff (like family). - A-ma-zing, that is the best word to describe our stay at this hotel. Although I can write a whole essay on our stay I will try to keep it as compact as possible. You know that feeling which you get when scrolling through social media looking at all those perfect holiday spots? Well this hotel completely lives up to that expectation. This "resort" is very small and private. It consists of approx. 12 villa's, of which several are currently being renovated and a few build new, which all are separated very well to guarantee their privacy. Several of the villa's are located at the seaside, with direct access to the sea. Definitely recommended to choose one of those. Each villa is quite spacious, with a great bathroom and big doors with windows to the garden area with a (bigger than expected) pool. The main area of the resort includes a restaurant (for breakfast, lunch and dinner), a large common pool, a common sand beach (with dartboard), a jeux-de-boules area, a fitness area (with basic equipment, but functional) and a massage house overlooking the ocean. The restaurant offers a very wide range of both common and local dishes for breakfast, which you can choose a-la-carte. For lunch there is very nice and tasty range of options as well. And for dinner there is a 5-course menu with options for the starter, main and dessert. Each meal is an absolute treat, amazingly tasteful, well portioned and presented beautifully. Last but not least, the staff... Just wow, amazingly friendly, very helpful, making everyone feel very welcome, almost as if you are staying with your family. We were here for our honeymoon and to be honest we could not have picked a better place. Highly recommended! Finding something negative for this place is quite a challenge. But if I need to be critical there are only a few things: the beds are too hard, something to be improved. This resort is quite pricey, and although you get an amazing place, great service and high quality, certain things (i.e. lunch if not included, alcohol and taxi's) are very expensive. Certainly compared to the prices to the rest of the island, is very (too?) high. Lastly, the quality of the massages is insufficient. Firstly the massage beds are uncomfortable and the massages themselves are not performed well, something that definitely needs to be improved.
