- Anthony (10/5): Comfortable and peaceful - It is a beautifully well kept country house so it is a little remote but beautiful location. This is my second visit and I find it a delight to stay at. House is lovely , facilities are perfectly fine and functional. I will go back next time I am in the Ashford area. The bathroom facilities could do with a revamp but it is fine as it is , perfectly functional but a little dated

- Geraldine (9/5): - I was received by the owner, who’s very friendly, amazing view and very good breakfast. Room shower with low pressure, but other than that it was amazing.
- Stuart (7/5): Quiet place no frills budget friendly and happy host - The property is easy to find on a quiet road 'out in the sticks'....which is what I prefer when staying away from home.
The host was lovely and my room was ready when I arrived.
Its a safe enough place to stay over without worry of vehicle security (always a concern in town centres etc).
The property is nice and clean. Honestly..... being super picky.....shower head needs some attention as its floppy and spurts water rather than a steady flow.
But for a budget room.... Id rather stay here than a Travelodge budget accommodation.

- Janine (9/5): Friendly host made the stay fabulous - It was in a lovely area and the views across the countryside are breathtaking. The room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Brilliant breakfast which was served in the kitchen - a nice homely touch. I have no complaints
- Jamie (10/5): - Staff were lovely. We arrived on bikes and she was happy to allow us to store them inside (but we stored them outside as they were muddy!). Very cozy house and delish breakfast.
- Andy (8/5): Nice stop over - Location
- Roger (7/5): - Comfortable bed No breakfast available before 8.00am
- Dave (1/5): House had potential, but the way we treated at check in was inexcusable. - Lovely view from Bathroom window Greeting as we arrived at check in. He was very rude. Extremely dismissive attitude made to feel very unwelcome.
- Georgina (10/5): Perfect - Host, room , service everything
Will be back

- Roger (8/5): Very nice situation in the middle of nowhere with very scenic comfortable breakfast room. - Good breakfast, but no marmalade! (essential for an English breakfast), which cost £10 extra. Wonderful breakfast room with view overlooking the countryside. I didn't meet Maya, but presumably her husband, who had a little of the Basil Fawlty about him, but we got there in the end! No provision of evening meal, and some distance from civilisation to obtain an evening meal - I had to walk about 3 miles.
- Greta (3/5): This place could be charming with a proper clean. Currently health and safety hazard. - Beautiful house Severe clean needed of all rooms, especially the kitchen.
- Zakary (1/5): Horrible, do not recommend! - Nothing This was a horrible experience, on arrival the host did not greet us. After waiting at the door for 5 minutes, the host then shouted he was coming. Upon entering, the host asked us if we was scared to stay in the apartment!! I then explained I was being made to feel uncomfortable, the host then told me to go and find somewhere else to stay and that he does not need my business as he has a lot of custom! The host then said he was going to force me to pay. When I said I was leaving, the host told me to fuck off! I then spent another hour driving around trying to find somewhere else to stay. Horrible experience.
- Monique (9/5): Campagne anglaise - C est calme. Le cadre est magnifique.
- Αίγλη (6/5): - It was very cold
- Martyn (8/5): -
- Nick (8/5): Very friendly host, excellent breakfast. - All good.
- Stef (8/5): - Zeer vriendelijke host
- Clarissa (8/5): - Breakfast was very good. Everything was very clean
- Amelia (8/5): Warm and comfortable with easy parking - Friendly welcome, warm and everything I needed for a short term place to stay. Easy to find and good parking. Clean but slightly tired bed linen, tiny thin bath towel, no face towel, thin walls.
- roehlich (7/5): -
- Filip (8/5): Would definitely come back - With one exception, everything was great. We liked the rooms, the setting inside and outside, and the views from the room and the breakfast area. The one exception was the duvet which we would have liked a bit bigger and also the next thicker/warmer one. It wasn't a big discomfort, more like, if anything could be improved, this is the only thing I would change to have everything perfect.
- Ben (10/5): Excellent stay , very peaceful and was given a warm welcome -
- Craig (9/5): Friendly staff and great food - Friendly staff , even helped me park and order Indian food. nothing
- Guntars (10/5): - Stils
- Mebalds (8/5): - The room was well appointed, spacious and comfortable. The views from the room were of rural landscape. Parking was good. More specific instruction on getting to Plumpton House from Ashford. Our GPS sent us along the correct road but it had been closed off permanently so it was a very long way around to get to Plumpton house from the other end of the road.
- Peter (8/5): -
- Carol (1/5): Quite horrendous - The only thing that was nice was the jacuzzi bath and double shower This bed and breakfast host was probably one of the most rude men I have done business with
Firstly I paid in cash for room and breakfast and wasn’t given a receipt
When we were taken to the room I pointed out to him that there were cobwebs behind the bed and both chests of drawers
Also in and around the 3 wall light fixtures of which 2 did not even have any bulbs
His reply was ‘everywhere has cobwebs if I come to your house and dont find any cobwebs I slit my own throat’
We then asked him why he was being so rude as to this point he had not even said please or thank you when he was paid
His reply was. ‘I never say please or thank you to anyone in your country
He then went away and got a feather duster to remove most of the cobwebs
Considering his attitude towards us I decided to ask for my money back but was told I would not be getting it
I elected to stay the night but felt uncomfortable in doing so and did not have breakfast as was unsure what he would do to it
I also did not see a food hygiene rating is this not something that a place serving food has to have
In summary I would not go here again and recommend to anyone else thinks twice about doing so
X
- Heidi (9/5): Beautiful location in country Kent. - The full English breakfast was awesome well worth the £10 extra. Cooked fresh for you, plenty to eat. We were a group of 4. Cereal, fruit and yoghurt if your not into a cooked breakfast. Fresh juice and coffee. Room was big. We were lucky enough to have an ensuite room. Beds comfortable best night sleep since We left home. Reasonably priced close to a big Tesco and motorway. Nothing we were happy with our stay. You do need a car to get around.
Mooi oud huis.
Goed Engels ontbijt
- Martin (9/5): Tony was fantastic, helped us with everything we needed! - Everything needed for our stay Nothing
- Ashley (7/5): Good for getting to the Tunnel - Location is excellent for the Tunnel
Able to accommodate two families
Parking on site
We could bring take away food back to eat downstairs Poor communications as we had made a couple of queries about where to eat in the evening but our questions were unanswered
Interior is dated, could do with updating including more power points

- Christopher (4/5): Disappointing - The house was very very peaceful. Mac Donald's was only a 10 minute drive away. There was a reasonable sized car park. Despite expecting a room with a bathroom, something that is very standard these days, I had to use a shared bathroom across the landing. If you look very carefully at the advert in detail, it will mention this eventually after originally suggesting a private bathroom.
The breakfast only starts being served at 8am which is a bit late if you need to travel somewhere or get to work.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so you have to travel down tiny windy country lanes with potholes and no street lamps.
Lastly, apart from being able to drive to Mac Donald's there really isn't anything else around.
- Susan (9/5): - It was a very peaceful setting and wonderful view of the hills.
Tony is an amazing chef.
We added breakfast to our day and we thought it was a generous amount of food for the money.
We also had family come to dinner (an extra cost)
We had salad, 2 main dishes, and a wonderful dessert. The host seemed to be working on his own but it did not affect the service.
- Michael (5/5): Adequate for the short time and purpose of my visit -
- Ingo (8/5): Clean comfy room in pleasant surroundings - spacious room with comfy bed Thin walls caused some noise.
- Roger (10/5): - Nicely places for channel tunnel
No frills but clean and helpful owner
- Mariusz (10/5): - Cisza i spokój oraz wiejskie krajobrazy Słabe ciśnienie w prysznicu
- Phillip (6/5): -
- Judy (5/5): -
- Steve (10/5): Great host beautiful place - Tony was warm and welcoming, rooms where comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very nice and overall a fantastic place to stay would recommend to anyone Nothing
- Mirjam (7/5): - The house does not look too welcoming from the outside but was nice inside with a big sitting room and winter garden for breakfast. Reception and parking was easy.
We had booked a two single bed room and got a really spacious and light family room with a solid and comfortable kingsize bed and a single bed upstairs the main house. The big sofa was clean, too. The view into the countryside was stunning. Big bathroom with clean facilities like a bath tub and a good shower. It was quiet and peaceful. The only negative thing was the very spotty and rugged white carpet in the room and in the bathroom, too. That was rather disgusting! So you better bring along your slippers. But the beautiful and quiet room weighs that out.
- Nick (10/5): Very comfortable b&b in beautiful countryside - lovely large bright room, beautiful location, excellent breakfast Decor a little tired
- Stacey (9/5): Beautiful setting with a great host. - The location was stunning. Very spacious and picturesque. The rooms were also just lovely. Breakfast was also great value for money. One of our party had a room which was incredibly hot and didn’t have a fan; it might be an idea to have a fan in each room.
- Nicholas (5/5): -
- Sylviane (10/5): -
- Marc (7/5): -
- Martin (9/5): -
- maria (4/5): Location great, accommodation shabby - Location Advertising deceiving - no mention of one bathroom/toilet being shared by multiple rooms. Made it difficult in the morning having to listen for the bathroom door unlocking to dive in. All decor dated and worn. Curtains torn in multiple places. It felt dirty even if it wasn't.
- Alastair (8/5): Good value stay in a peaceful location - Nice location, peaceful, great breakfast, good sized room and bathroom, clear communication and directions Was a bit dirty in places. Bathroom wasn't the best, shower pressure in particular was extremely weak. Walls were a bit thin, could hear other guests at times
- George (10/5): - Everything was great.
- KAREN (5/5): - Location Sharing a bathroom.......toilet and shower in same room therefore one must wait or feel conscious of others waiting .
No privacy .
Room facilities were poor ...bare minimum coffee /tea .
For business travellers No soaps or essentials provided.
- orcamaus (8/5): A traditional "B&B" as you may have known it a few decades ago, in the last century - - location "in the middle of nowhere" (idyllic & quiet)
- beautiful interior decor
- the en-suite double bedroom on the first floor at the back of the building is very spacious, bright and has the most beautiful views across the surrounding scenery
- huge, comfortable lounge
- big, bright conservatory at the back of the house
- very yummy freshly cooked breakfast at GBP 10 extra per person
- I particularly loved the host's affectionate, playful pug who did her bid to give guests a warm welcome when they arrive - location "in the middle of nowhere" (you definitely need a car to go places)
- ironic that the 3-bed family room is smaller and without any en-suite facilities while the much larger double bedroom comes with its own large bathroom. It certainly should be the other way round...
- communication with the hosts proved to be a bit difficult. We did not get any replies to our texts
- Roger (5/5): It served its purpose - I was able to park my m'bike undercover. No en-suite bathroom and dated furniture. Not good value for money.
- Grzegorz (10/5): - An ideal base for touring the southeast of England. A beautiful house located in a charming rural area, decorated in a traditional style, yet very close to Ashford. Our room was spacious with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The owner was very friendly and served wonderful English breakfasts that pleased both the adults and our 10-year-old. Sincerely recommend it for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

- david (8/5): - According to my friends the bedroom and breakfast were satisfactory. I booked this B&B for friends (as advised). I was told the first night's stay would be taken from my credit card in confirmation. When my friends arrived, they were told quite bluntly that they could not have the key until they paid the full amount. I have searched and I cannot find the withdrawal from my AMEX account. This was embarrassing for all concerned. My friends paid the full amount, but if in some way I was charged the first night, obviously I want a refund.
- Dave (6/5): Used as a stop over for a ferry crossing, was enough for what we needed. - Good location and close to Folkestone and Dover. Nearby village to Wye was nice. Cost was good compared to other places in the area. Family room was a good size with decent sized separate bathroom. Dated interior of room, basic but clean. Shower has zero pressure if used in shower position. Had to sit down to get any water pressure.
- David Edward (8/5): - Good room size Lacking hand towels
Kamer was goed schoongemaakt.
- Dorus (6/5): Okay, but not again - Roomy, english style b&b, nice house, good location, friendly owner The curtains were so thin that they let in all the sunlight. And the sun… it was shining directly onto our window, so by 4:30 AM the room was fully lit, waking us up.
The bed was a spring mattress, which meant that every time one of us turned over, the other got bounced into the air. It was quite small and especially too short — as average-height people, our legs were hanging off the edge.
The shower pressure was literally drip, drip, drip — just a few drops came out, making it impossible to actually shower. I mentioned this to the owner, who said they weren’t really aware of the issue.
The breakfast was good, but very minimal. Just one piece of toast per person. In general, everything that was served felt insufficient.
All in all, we didn’t have a great experience. We would really recommend the owner to address these details and make sure the room has proper curtains and a much better bed, so guests can sleep comfortably — especially for the price we paid. Unfortunately, this was a disappointment.
- Emma (8/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Travelling by motorcycle and parking the bike in a garage added extra piece of mind. Thanks - Quiet and attractive Nothing
- Christopher (8/5): - Great value. Half the price of the main hotels. Comfortable bed. Good free parking. Broken shower head. Quick fix for the host.
- Ken (9/5): A great place too stay for LeShuttle - Location is excellent and staff super helpful and friendly
