• Scott (10/5): - The property is beautiful and tranquil. The staff are accomodating and friendly. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Relaxed by the pool and enjoyed the view.

• Marie (10/5): Härligt ställe - Trots att det var lågsäsong och att många av den ordinarie personalen, särskilt på restaurangsidan, tydligen hade ledigt, blev vår vistelse synnerligen lyckad. Härlig miljö, fina rum och trevlig personal förgyllde vårt besök på Horta da Moura.
• Kevin (2/5): - Water in rooms and used in the restaurant to wash vegetables and fruit is non potable. After one night was very ill so cancelled remaining nights. Had to go to hospital for antibiotics to recover. There is no notice that the water is non-potable on the website and there was no warning by reception on check in that we should not drink the water in the room. There is only a small sign on the upper corner of the bathroom mirror that the water is non-potable.
• Fátima (10/5): Vamos voltar e ficar mais tempo! - Hotel muito agradável, bem localizado e com serviços muito simpáticos.Fomos fazer um passeio de balão de ar quente, saímos muito cedo e prepararam-nos um lanche para levarmos, quando regressámos ainda nos serviram o pequeno almoço. Vamos voltar e ficar mais tempo, gostámos muito também da vista da piscina e da sala do bilhar/estar.

• Maria do Carmo (10/5): Belíssimo Fim de semana em família! - A experiência foi fantástica, já conhecíamos o Hotel Rural Horta da Moura e voltámos a confiar na sua já conhecida hospitalidade. Atendimento eficiente, simpático e sempre disponíveis para nos ajudar no que precisássemos. Acomodações fantásticas, limpeza feita todos os dias e os espaços exteriores muito agradáveis e cuidados. Pequeno almoço com muita variedade, apenas tenho a assinalar que deveriam apostar mais nos produtos locais e valorizá-los já que é uma região tão rica gastronomicamente. Não tenho nada a assinalar, tudo ótimo!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Better for a longer stay - Stayed for one night only. Just 3 min drive away from Monsaraz main area, so conveniently located for Monsaraz sightseeing. Chilled atmosphere with nice swim pool, so it would be better to spend enough time at the hotel.

Pequeno almoço muito bom, incluindo produtos locais. Proximidade com a aldeia, castelo e praia fluvial de Monsaraz (Alqueva).

• Ashey (10/5): Country charm!!! - Beautiful County farm estate turned hotel. Beautiful gardens, stunning combination of architecture and furnishingredients in the main rooms. Citrus trees perfumed the air. And the front desk had breakfast to go bags since we had to leave early, so nice!

• Guy (10/5): Hôtel rurale facile d'accès, calme et reposant - Après la route et la visite à Evora, l'arrivée à cette hôtel de Monsaraz nous a offert la détente de la campagne et le plaisir de la piscine. Le souper offert à l'hôtel est limité mais bon. La ville fortifiée de Monsaraz est à seulement 5 minutes en auto.

Not many options around, unless you drive a few minutes (to the old castle/fortified city). Good sized room, no problem with extra beds. Ok wifi all over the area. But why not sell beer in bigger size than 0,2L....?

Gården har et skønt pool område og en dejlig resturent. Det er et must at besøge Esporado-vingården hvor der er mulighed for vinsmagning og en fantastisk tasting frokost
• Liz (8/5): A gem in a rural setting - Set in extensive gardens and farmland, this is a unique hotel with certified olive trees aged from 500 to 2400 years old - truly remarkable. As well as orange and olive groves and vegetables, the hotel has a stable of the most beautiful horses. I would love to swim in the infinity pool in the summer with views over the gardens and surrounding countryside. A traditional Portuguese hotel with regional cuisine. To our delight live fada music on the night we stayed.

• René (10/5): Ny standard for bondegårsferie - Hvis du vil bo i rolige omgivelser men samtidig med god komfort, så kan dette hotel helt sikkert være en mulighed. Det nærliggende slot er et besøg værd. Og glem ikke at nyde den fantastiske gode mad i den restaurant som hører til hotellet.

• Hendrik (10/5): Prachtig hotel in een onvergelijkbare omgeving ! - Prachtig hotel in een voorlopig nog onontgonnen toeristische omgeving ! De rust is hier werkelijk overweldigend ! Breng zeker een bezoek aan het oude dorp Monsaraz. Aan het meer in de buurt zijn er tal van plekjes te vinden waar je ongestoord een duikje kan nemen.

• Len Shaefer (10/5): A hidden gem in the Alentejo countryside - The Horta da Moura is a small, very charming country auberge that sits just at the bottom of the hill below the castle of Monsaraz, one of the most remarkable historical sites in eastern Portugal. The grounds are well tended, the rooms are sparkling clean and quite good-sized and the building contains several lounge areas that contain wood-burning fireplaces and large amounts of authentic Alentejo furniture and decor. My wife and I broke our general never-eat-where-you-stay rule, and we are quite glad we did, because the inn's restaurant, Feitiço da Moura (The Spell of the Moorish Woman) indeed had us spell-bound with the quality and value of its cuisine. Have a special bottle of wine from your tour of the local adegas that you want to open with your dinner? No problem -- they're only too happy to oblige, even though their own wine-list certainly needs no apology. But beware -- a big dinner may dampen your appetite for the massive country breakfast that will be served up the next morning, and it too will include many items with sabor alentejano. If there is better value for your travel dollar in the euro-denominated countries than Alentejo, then I am waiting to discover it. The Huerta da Moura, all by itself, is probably enough to make that case.

• Marie (6/5): Accueil nul. - L.impression que l.on se méfie de vous:il faut payer la chambre des l'arrivée; si l'on ne donne pas sa carte de crédit, on vous retire toutes les boissons du mini bar...Bref, vraiment pas un accueil! Le personnel obéit manifestement à des ordres et est, soit terrorise, soit inexistant. D'autant plus dommage que le lieu est charmant.
• fruit farmer (4/5): Nice hotel with dogs!!!?? - Very nice facility near Monsaraz. Quiet countryside with 4 star rooms and unique buildings. Hotel has restaurant and at end of building they keep 2 dogs in cages. When grounds staff leave dogs begin barking and do not stop until they return in the morning. We could not sleep all night because of this. When reported to the staff in the morning they said they would pass it on to the management. Not good enough for us being out a nights sleep.

• Kurt (8/5): Dejligt hotel med en skøn beliggenhed - Vi havde et dejligt ophold. Hotellet var udgangspunkt til diverse udflugter. Super morgenmad.
• T.H (8/5): Grandioze ligging - Moeilijk te vinden, omdat er geen straataanduiding is. Als je het vestingstadje Monsaraz aanhoudt, kom je er wel. Paar honderd meter onder dit fort op heuveltop staat goede bewegwijzering. Het complex met diverse gebouwtjes ligt op omheind en bewaakt terrein en je auto staat veilig en beschut tegen de zon. Behoorlijke niveauverschillen en rolstoel-ongeschikt. Voor Portugese begrippen duur, maar in Nederland betaal je voor zo'n accommodatie met zwembad al gauw meer dan het dubbele. Voor paardenliefhebbers is er ook 'n mogelijkheid om te rijden, want paarden horen bij dit complex. Het comfort is hoog en ontbijt is uitgebreid. Om naar zwembad te lopen zijn op je kamer badjassen standaard. Jammer is dat heet water in je douche of wastafel lang op zich laat wachten (meer dan 4 minuten voor redelijke temp.). Dineren in het kleine restaurant hebben we niet gedaan maar in het vestingstadje Monsaraz op 3 minuten rijden. Niet te belopen vanwege steilheid. In dat stadje prima restaurantjes waar je voor 21 ,-- een driegangenmenu hebt!
