Due to my height it was difficult to open and close the window. However, the long handled shoe horn that was in the room made a good improvised window opener/shutter

• Jonathan (10/5): - Everything was perfect ,from the check in to the breakfast,,beds was so comfy,room was 10 out of 10,can't fault this place in anyway.we booked this hotel because we liked what we read on the reviews on booking.com,we drove from walsall in the West Midlands because we had had a tour of emmerdale 20 miles away from the hotel ,we could of stayed closer to our tour but we decided to stay here,so glad we did,thankyou so much wheldale hotel.10/10 on every level. Absolutely nothing to dislike,

• Dennis (7/5): Comfortable bed but some noise preventing natural sleep. - I like the location, just 15-20 mins walk from the train station. It was a small room but it was okay for one person. Tea and coffee available with a TV with multiple channnels. Noisy after midnight! If the walls have no soundproofing, there should be a strict "no noise" after midnight rule. Somone had a TV turned on and it is difficult to sleep. Slee[ is importatnt if a long trip follows.

• Jane (1/5): We didn't stay, totally falsely advertised - Nothing Falsely advertised, facilities on booking.com stated bar, coffee bar, snack bar, wine/champagne, beer garden. The pub is actually permanently shut down with access to the rooms via a metal fire escape of which the owner warned were slippy and the outside lights were broken so in the dark a potential death trap in my opinion. We looked at the room however when my husband opened a drawer to find someone else's underwear it was the final straw and we immediately left and booked into somewhere else. I am currently awaiting a full refund from booking.com.

Room spacious to host guests with 3 chairs available Room had with a period fireplace which was a pleasant feature. The breakfast was excellent and the owners welcoming and friendly. Overall the room was clean but just some areas required to remedy: A few light bulbs not working - lamp on fireplace or one at the bedside. The shower bar unit one end was loose and needs tightening as it fell off. The shower took a while to heat up for some reason (time 0800) Curtains are a bit hard to pull shut/open along rails Shower tray corners need attention with some mill dew build up.

The room, though small, was clean and comfortable with clean bed linen. Overall it was good value for money. A little frustrating that check-in closed at 10, but in fairness the staff did wait and extra 15 mins for me. Though the room was spotless, clean and cosy, it was a bit small and closed-in. But it was good value for the cost of the stay.

• Hannah (9/5): A brilliant value stay, would thoroughly recommend - great breakfast and really welcoming owner. - This place is such brilliant value! The single room was compact but had everything I needed to stay for the night. Five rooms share two bathrooms, and I had no issues with them being occupied etc. The breakfast was absolutely great, a lovely selection of bread, crumpets, fruit, yoghurts, porridge, cereal, ham and cheese etc. The owner was so friendly and welcoming too, and even kindly let me pick up the key early, as I was attending an event and wouldn’t be back until late. No huge drawbacks - it’s not the most desirable part of town but I didn’t feel unsafe or anything.
