Mitten im Jungel und direkt am Ayung Fluss den man sehr gut hören kann, was einem noch mehr das Gefühl von Natur vermittelt, das man schon ohnehin durch die ganzen Tiergeräusche hat. Einfach eine wundervolle und wunderschöne Anlage durch und durch! Das Hotelzimmer war auch sehr schön gelegen mit Blick ins Tal und somit direkt ins grüne. Einfach traumhaft. Das Personal war immer freundlich und man bekommt das Gefühl etwas besonderes zu sein. So ein freundliches auftreten hat man selten und man hat sich stets sehr wohl gefühlt. Es gibt nichts was man hier auszusetzen hat. Wir werden immer wieder gerne kommen!

- Dave (9/5): A little piece of heaven at a value price. - I loved the setting. Beautiful views everywhere. My room was quite large and I had a big outdoor private space. The staff members were professional to a tee. Having read other comments, I wish to add that prior to my arrival, I was specifically asked about allergies to foods. At each good offering, I was asked again. The morning breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening meals could not have been better. Disputing other comments about lack of choices at tea, I have included a photo of the tea service. I opted for an all day tour; organized by the hotel. I urge everyone to do this. Wow! The property is beginning to show some age. This does NOT detract from the beauty.

However, we feel the breakfast selection could benefit from a bit more variety—such as adding items like cheese and olives, sausages etc With the current à la carte menu is luxury but it tends to feel repetitive, with similar options like eggs being served each day. Introducing a few additional choices would make the experience more enjoyable and diverse.

- Navigator538796 (2/5): Review of the Ayung resort - The hotel is nowhere like 5 star or 4 star . Everything looks tired , dilapidated and in need of a refresh . There was no enthusiasm when we checked in which gave a bad first impression. Upon arriving to the room we had to drag our suitcases through the rain for the last part of the journey . No umbrellas were offered . The room looked tired and the balcony needed a good clean . The complementary mini bar consisted of 2 cokes and a small pack of Oreo . We then went for afternoon tea in a room that looked so dated . The host was more interested in her phone than providing service . There was no menu , direction or skills . We were offered tea or coffee and a small plate was put in front of us with no explanation of what it was as it didn’t look obvious apart from 2 little brownies . No allergies were asked or even acknowledged that we were there . The staff stood in the corner chatting , laughing . We then decided this is not a place we would want to stay and decided to leave the hotel . It was the worse experience and I work in the travel industry . We asked to speak to a manager and were told there is no manager on site . That didn’t speak volumes of a luxury hotel as they advertise. We then decided to go to a different hotel and wrote 2 emails one to the general manager and one to the hotel email address which we never even got an acknowledgement or a reply . This is the first for a luxury hotel. So stay away from the property if you looking for any level of luxury or service . You will be disappointed . I have told a couple of friends who were planning to visit and they changed their booking to stay elsewhere . I would rate this hotel as 2 star maximum and that being very generous . The location is impressive but the staff and the environment and the service is appalling. So stay away !!!! .

- DucksLondon (2/5): Awful - If I could give it less than one star I would. On arrival the location looked quite special, buried in a valley in the rain forest. However, although everything we needed was provided during the check-in process, it felt like it was a checklist with no real effort to make us feel welcome. Maybe that was a lack of confidence thing for the guy but it didn’t give a great first impression. We were then taken to our room and there we had further issues. The buggy couldn’t park directly outside the entrance so we had to drag our cases in the rain…and were told there were no umbrellas. A hotel in a rainforest…with no umbrella??? The whole building looked tired. There was an area with some bookshelves on one landing and the ceiling looked like it was coming down. When in the room, the doors to the balcony didn’t lock properly, the handrail on the balcony was grubby and there appeared to be coffee stains and the curtains had a rip in them. The ‘complimentary’ minibar consisted of two cans of coke and a small pack of Oreos. That is not acceptable. As we arrived at the time of the ‘afternoon tea’ we decided to give it a try. We asked for a buggy to take us to the lounge. We waited by the entrance but nobody arrived. We walked up the track and found him parked round the corner. No effort was made to let us know he was there. We passed a buggy full of staff in uniform but not one acknowledged us as we walked past. The tea was served in a lounge area crammed with tired, faded and saggy sofas. They just looked grubby and I had no wish to sit on them. We were given a table and just offered tea or coffee. No menu and no options for either. We had to ask what option there were. Then a plate was just put on the table with some small food items and the lady just walked away. No asking if we had allergies and no explanation of what they were. We had to call someone over to explain what we’d been given. After that the staff just stood in the corner of the room chatting or holding personal calls on speakerphone. No customer service at all. It was at this point we decided there was no way we were going to stay. We asked for a buggy to the room. We told him we were just collecting our belongings so asked if he could wait maybe 5 or 10 mins….and he wanted to know if it would be 5 OR 10 mins. They were not busy….but he obviously didn’t want to wait. We got our bags and had to call for another buggy as the previous one had left. We promptly checked out after staying no more than an hour…and never want to go back. The website sells the resort as ‘luxury’ and ‘deluxe’. It lives up to neither. It was grubby tatty and tired. The staff lazy, unprofessional and unfriendly. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. We raised a complaint to both the general manager and the main contact email address and neither have had the curtesy to even respond. That shows how little they care about their customers. Stay away.
- alisonl408 (10/5): A very special jungle hideaway. - A very special hotel in the jungle where every member of staff appears to genuinely want to make you feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. All the food we tried tasted excellent, well seasoned and presented to a very high standard. The bedroom was spacious and very clean with a balcony view of the pool and green jungle beyond. You will never see a reception area quite like this one - with huge statues creating a museum feel. I had a foot massage, which was very relaxing. We used a private driver to get around the area. Very easy to organise and good value for money. Rice terraces, temples, waterfalls and The Monkey Forest all worth a visit.
- GrandTour32091625377 (10/5): Ayung Resort Ubud - A beautiful resort and fabulous staff. The grounds are spread out and because it often rained, it was difficult to walk up and down the cobblestone roads, so we were not able to easily explore the area (of course it was the rainty season). The other drawback is that you need a golf cart/buggy to move you around the resort and to their on-site restaurant which meant we were walking on slippery cobblestones to and from the buggy. The Resort is not to blame for weather issues. The value for our wonderful room and meals were a real value.

Besonders beeindruckend ist das Frühstück mit traumhaftem Blick auf den Dschungel. Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich freundlich und herzlich, und die Qualität des Essens hervorragend. - G6588HInicolasf (2/5): If zero was possible, I’d give it - We booked and fully paid for Villa Wibisana through Agoda for a group of 12 people. On arrival, we were shocked to find out the villa was already booked out. No accommodation, no alternative offered, nothing. The manager/owner contacted me and said she was “on her way” to resolve the situation — she never showed up. We were left stranded with 5 kids and a baby, stressed and scrambling to find somewhere else to stay. When speaking to people in the area afterward, we were told this had already happened before to another group who booked through Booking.com. That makes this even more concerning. What’s worse is that the property is still listed on Agoda, meaning more people could still be getting caught in the same situation. Her only excuse was that she “never listed the property on Agoda.” That is not the guest’s responsibility. If your property is taking bookings and payments through major platforms, you are accountable. This was an extremely distressing experience. No accountability, no professionalism, no care for families. Avoid at all costs.

My fiancée and me were not knowing exactly where we are going. But, when we arrived the property at night and We were welcomed, registered, and taken to our room. We felt an immense sense of comfort and an indescribable feeling. I can describe it as "STUNNED” I just want to describe it as Paradise.

The views are the star of the show. Every look outside feels picture-perfect. I visited the property with my Family and all of us loved it. The restaurant is a real highlight. With such an amazing backdrop, eating here feels more like an experience than just a meal. The food is well presented, the service is friendly and attentive, and the views make you want to sit back and take your time. It’s the kind of place where you don’t rush, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Staff are friendly and accommodative. The rooms are comfortable and well designed, making them a great place to relax after a day out. Waking up to those views is definitely something you don’t get tired of. The spa also is a excellent place that everyone can enjoy. Overall, this hotel combines great views, excellent dining, and a calm, welcoming vibe. A perfect spot if you’re looking to unwind, celebrate, or just enjoy a stay with an amazing view. The Front office can be better but it might be a one time issue so nothing to complain

They have ma u activities for the kids to do and the rooms are very comfortable. I would like to say that the staff in the restaurant and spa are amazing and they were so nice and very helpful. - Paradise59058992821 (10/5): Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at - This is truly a once in a lifetime experience!! We stayed in the valley pool villa and it was INCREDIBLE!! We had wild monkeys around our private pool in the mornings and evenings. The staff are AMAZING! We booked the honeymoon package which I highly recommend - it includes a floating breakfast in your pool. I wish I could experience this for the first time over and over again! We love you Ayung!

The Balinese-style rooms are beautiful, with modern bathrooms. The breakfast and dinner are truly outstanding – served open-air but under a roof, with a wonderful view of the jungle. The service deserves six stars – the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and they really make you feel like royalty. We felt extremely comfortable and well taken care of here! Having a car definitely makes sense. Nothing. Perhaps a bit more lighting in the rooms, but this is complaining about luxury problems

La chambre qu on nous a donné par la suite plus petite était mieux. Les déplacements au sein de l'établissement n'était pas du tout idéal avec un bébé.
- Hima (8/5): A unique lovely hotel high up in the Jungle. - This is a unique, tranquil and peaceful hotel where you can be transported in time, amongst nature and traditional Balinese charm. The hotel has some beautiful wooden carvings, a feature of the Reception and throughout the hotel. The hotel offers a complimentary Balinese Afternoon tea every day from 5pm, which was a lovely touch. The restaurant in the hotel is upstairs overlooking the forest where you enjoy a la carte dinner and a part a la carte and part buffet daily breakfast. I became a fan of the hotel's Balinese morning coffee. The dinners are tasty and made to perfection, I had the best chicken and sweetcorn soup I have ever tasted. There is a gym and complimentary yoga class which I tried during my stay and enjoyed and a complimentary morning rice trekking walk (subject to weather). The staff at the resort strive to address you by your name, which is a really nice touch. There are two outdoor pools to access. The hotel provides a free shuttle service once per day at a particular time. If you do use the shuttle, or require it back to the hotel, please do ensure you request this at reception, as they only come to Ubud Town Centre at pick up time, if this is booked in advance. My room was large with traditional furnishings with a large shower and bathtub in the bathroom. I found the room to be quite dark and in need of some more lighting. Whilst the hotel has clearly preserved it's traditional feel, I do feel that the rooms could be a little more enhanced by being a little more modern and providing padding (cushions) on the pure wooden balcony chairs for comfort. I feel these slight enhancements, would further enhance this lovely resort. This is a great resort to get away from it all and be away and reconnect with nature in a middle of a rain forest. Please be mindful that this hotel is located quite high up 'in the jungle' so rain is quite common. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who provided me with true Balinese hospitality. I had a great time.

It’s a great resort and thanks to the buggies always available to transport us around the resort we had a very comfortable stay. The spa is also great . The free hotel shuttle to ubud is good but could offer an earlier pick up for those wanting to return to the resort in the early afternoon. Set in the jungle it’s a great resort for relaxation , highly recommended with exceptional service by the lovely staff.

Food was delicious. Spa was truly an oasis. We will 100% be coming back to this hotel. The only thing we noticed was when booking day trips / tours a lot of the companies would not do pick up’s at the hotel so we kept having to change our plan for day outings however that small downfall was the only thing. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

It’s a lovely oasis in the tropical rainforest, very clean & picturesque. Their attention to detail is amazing. The food and drinks were lovely. They offer a free daily shuttle to the centre. Also a free daily afternoon tea which was amazing. The rooms were spacious, wonderful spaces. I would stay again and again at this resort. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this resort. Definitely 5*s.

- 691jeffy (10/5): Exceptional Escape - Had the absolute pleasure of staying at the resort for 4 nights. Without a doubt this was a wonderful experience, one of those times that just exceeded expectations. The resort is truly a magical spot. Away from the hustle and bustle, this places oozes tranquility and relaxation. Courteous and friendly staff, always responsive and helpful. Would strongly recommend the wellness centre and enjoyed multiple massages. Would highly recommend the organised private day tour. The room was comfortable and clean, well maintained. Add in the restaurant and wonderful food, This is definitely somewhere I’d return.

The location is breathtaking, nestled right in the jungle, and we were thrilled to see monkeys and other wildlife right from our room. We were particularly impressed with the staff and the high level of service. The food was delicious and the spa was a wonderful, relaxing experience. Although some of the facilities are a little dated and could use some maintenance, this didn't detract from our stay. Overall, it was a very good experience and we left feeling completely rejuvenated

Things like toilets, shower need to go through a replacement program. The gym is very very old and doesn't invite you to spend time in it. Our shower drain was blocked and they couldn't do anything about it. However the setting and staff are the best we've ever experienced!

The food in the restaurant was sublime, staff exceptionally attentive and friendly with every staff member that we encountered going above and beyond to make every moment special. Our accommodation was large and specious and impeccably clean, overlooking the most beautiful pool area deep in the rainforest. The treatments we received in the spa were amongst the best we have ever had and delivered in such a professional manner. We also had the most wonderful driver in Arna who brought us around the island to show us the sights, our 10 year old son said it was the most fun day of our holiday! Quite simply there are not enough superlatives to describe this resort - Pure relaxation, luxury, and genuine warmth—thank you Ayung resort you really have something very special going on, we can’t wait to return!
- Tiffany (10/5): Fabulous and relaxing! - I had wanted to stay at Ayung for some time and it did not disappoint! I stayed in the most beautiful room overlooking the valley and river. You could hear the river at night but I found this very soothing and it was otherwise very quiet, which I found rare on this trip to Bali! Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. I travelled solo and felt safe the entire time at their resort. I would love to stay again and the view from the room was exceptional! I would note that this estate has a lot of hills and stairs. I do not mind stairs and their was a lot down to my particular room which I did not mind at all as it was more peaceful. However, if you have mobility issues I would inquire with the venue. They do have a shuttle which is helpful and lots of rooms without as many stairs. Inside the room was very flat. It was all perect.

- SuziT51 (10/5): Outstanding experience - Outstanding. If you're in ubud this is the best jungle experience mixed with luxury. Staff were super friendly and helpful, nothing was too much. We really felt looked after, and had a free upgrade when we arrived at the hotel. Wouldn't stay anywhere else if we returned to be honest.

The food from breakfast to afternoon tea, room service to evening meal was delicious, presented & amazing. Lovely pool Couldn't fault it
- Willem (10/5): - The resort is absolutely incredible! The food, facilities, pools, views, staff, breakfast, spa, activities are all 10/10! Really amazing and peaceful! The only thing I would say is that it is quite far from the town, 30mins drive. So its not as easy to just go out and walk around, unless you like rural Ubud. If you wanted to go shopping, it is a bit far away, and getting gojek transport to and from is quite difficult, took us a while. But to be honest, you could spend a whole week just in the resort, its that good. We did not really go out much!

- zlatkomuzinicz (10/5): Best staff ever - We truly enjoyed the hospitality and everything Ayung Resort has to offer. We booked 3 nights for our anniversary and immediately felt special. Now, for all travelers who worry about cleanliness and safety, I can tell you that everything is extremely clean—no bugs, no mosquitoes. There are a few wild monkeys, but they don’t come down among people. If you’re looking for a real jungle experience but are not a fan of insects like me, then Ayung Resort is the place to choose 😂. The food is also excellent. The only downside is that you can’t just walk to the center of Ubud, but they solved this by providing a shuttle. We personally rented a scooter and explored everything on our own.

- Carolyn (10/5): Magical Jungle Experience - Outstanding natural location and construction, a living, breathing museum. The artwork all over the museum was stunning, monkey families frequent guests on our balcony and at breakfast, the staff went above and beyond to.attend to all our needs and requests. It felt very personal. The property is a little older, and some of the facilities which are worn out could do with some updating, but you are in the heart of a jungle with the river so close you can hear the rushing water ....its magical and its great to turn off that critical eye and be swept away by the romance of it all.
- Jouini (10/5): Un paradiso a pochi chilometri dal centro di Ubud - Credo che non ci siano parole per descrivere la bellezza di questo paradiso immerso nella foresta. Resort 5 stelle a pochi km dal centro di Ubud immerso totalmente in una vallata di meravigliosa e fitta vegetazione con una vista da togliere il fiato. Due enormi piscine a sfioro, una hall con delle statue super lussuose, camere enormi (noi avevamo una king room vista piscina grande quanto un appartamento) Cibo superlativo e personale fantastico, sempre gentili e sorridenti. Presente una Spa nella parte più in basso, immersa totalmente nella foresta e se cammini ancora più giù arrivi sulla riva del fiume dove partono i percorsi di rafting. Ci è piaciuto tutto, mi permetto solo di fare due appunti che possono essere uno spunto migliorativo: - servizio al ristorante davvero molto lungo: nonostante la sala non fosse piena, abbiamo aspettato quasi un’ora per mangiare (stessa cosa anche per il pranzo ordinato in piscina ma qui l’attesa è giustificata dal fatto che ti viene portato con l golf car e quindi ci vuole un po’ più di tempo) - abbiamo fatto il checkout alle 12 ma ci siamo fermati fino a tarda sera per partecipare all’evento dell’Indipendence day. Ci hanno offerto di usufruire della doccia esterna in piscina ma onestamente risulta un po’ scomodo fra shampoo, cambio vestiti ecc…. Trattandosi di un 5 stelle sarebbe carino mettere a disposizione una stanza per chi fa il checkout ma poi decide comunque di rimanere così da usufruire comodamente della doccia, asciugamani, fono per capelli ecc… Al di là di questo, rimane comunque tutto perfetto. Un vero sogno

If u want to eat Indian food would not recommend this . The rest of the food was good . No 24 hours room service .

- Ali (10/5): A peaceful jungle escape with stunning views, warm service, and rich with Balinese charm. - What I loved most about my stay at Ayung Resort was the magical setting—nestled deep in the jungle with stunning views of the Ayung River valley. The resort felt like a spiritual retreat, surrounded by lush greenery and filled with traditional Balinese art and sculptures. The staff were incredibly warm, thoughtful, and professional, always going out of their way to ensure comfort. The villa was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotless. Dining was a highlight, with delicious meals served in a serene open-air restaurant. Yes, the resort could benefit from some modernisation, as a few areas feel a bit dated, but this doesn’t detract from its overall beauty or the uniquely peaceful experience it offers. Not a major issue but the resort would benefit from a freshen up in terms of paint work. Facilities were fantastic however and so this is only very minor.
