• Lorenzo (10/5): A gem in the forest - Lovely quite place that feels like what Bali was years ago. Hearing the sounds of the forest all around was beautiful. Staff is very friendly. Room simply but has everything I needed, comfy bed. Very Recommended

Probably needs some refurbishment on the rooms, but overall comfortable stay

La piascina aveva un po di foglie ma niente si che. Purtroppo il bagno era senza carta igienica e mancava l’acqua di scarico. Doccia inoltre fredda. Peccato perchè la struttura è bella

• Colin (10/5): Delightfully Quiet Stopover - Loved the pool, and shadey quiet garden. Loved the balcony looking over the pond. Loved the room and spacious ensuite. Loved the food. Loved the friendly yet discreet staff. Loved the reasonable price. 5-minute walk from the sea and a 'shack by the beach'-type eatery looking out over the black pebble-beached bay. A great stopover on the way to Amed. All good.

• James (10/5): Great, affordable accommodation run by a nice family - Clean, spacious, comfortable accommodation in a good location, well priced and run by nice family. A great stop to explore Virgin Beach The local beach isn’t that sandy but Virgin Beach makes up for that.
• Zoe (8/5): Comfortable and good value for money. - A taste of traditional Bali before the 90’s. But there was air conditioning, a flushing toilet and a pool. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cold water showers took a bit of getting used to.
• Colin (10/5): Peaceful Retro-Oriental - A quiet, restful and relaxing place, old in a good way, a very short distance from the shore. Large room with shower and toilet ensuite, and a balcony overlooking a large goldfish pond shaded by trees. The pool is a large one. Has a sort of old oriental vibe. Served th e best pancakes ever! All good .

Parking onsite for car. Bathroom was big but needs a bit of an upgrade. Breakfast nice omelette and drink. Very big swimming pool. Big dining area. Staff said cottages were 20 years old. I would say in its day would have been very nice. Still ok but needs some money put into it. Very good value. Good value stay with nice staff

• Patricija (8/5): Cool place to stay - The place is far from street, so you can sleep quietly. Everything is clean and a room is spacious. There is A/C which is very good, because at night time There is really hot without it. Staff is super friendly and lovely. The pool is super large! And you can hear the sound Of waves Which is very nice! There is no hot water in the shower so in the Evening it’s a little bit to cold to shower. And there are no trash cans in the toilet, only in room.

• Ksenia (8/5): Good accomodation with fair price - Big room with balcony, spacy bathroom half open, comfortable bed, very friendly staff. Good location close to Jasri beach, walking distance, good for watch sunset or sunrise. The hotel has nice territory with fish pounds, pool is big and deep, but a lot of chemical. Missed rubbish bin in the room, also could be good to privide some soap or shampoo. Aircon didn't want to switch on when we arrived, but was possible to fix.

So quiet and peaceful and nice to wake up to birds and nature :) The owners were extremely kind and helpful and helped with renting a bike and transport to the airport. On my way to the airport I accidently left my wallet with bank cards and ID in the room. The owners very kindly organised someone to transport it to the airport for me and I made my flight just in time. This saved me a huge amount of stress and I am extremely grateful for their kindness and help - anything I needed, they were happy to help. Thank you so much and see you next time!

• Verified traveler (8/5): - This hotel has so much potential being so close to a quiet beach. The rooms are big, extra large single beds with good mattresses. Staff are lovely and the breakfast was good - pancakes amazing. With a lick of paint this hotel would be even nicer. As a one nighter it is fine and not in need of anything lavish!

Das Badezimmer hätte wieder eine Renovierung nötig, ansonsten alles gut. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Frühstück okay.
• 33_Stella_33 (8/5): Good! - I stayed here one night in a room on the ground floor. The room was pleasant and clean. The bathroom was indoor (if you want an indoor bathroom, just ask for a ground floor room). I did not try the pool but it seemed to be pleasant. Everything was working well(aircon, fan, hot water) except wifi which did not work inside the room. I did not have any problem to have soap and toilet paper - just ask for it. Good breakfast. The family running the place was friendly and helpful. No restaurant (except for breakfast) but they cooked mie goreng (fried noodles) for me. Due to its location, better if you have your own transportation. Pleasant stay and good value.
• RetoH103 (8/5): Relax in Bali - If you are looking for a quite and peacefull stay with a very, very friendli family, you will be happy here. The rooms are very big and clean. Also the garden and the pool they clean every day. With a scooter you can visit the water tempels and hindu tempels in the area. It was a pleasure to see this friendly family working together. It is 150 meters away from the beach and you can walk along the beach to a choclate factory and hand made soaps. Nice presents to bring home.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t go - We payed for about8-9days and stayed one and left . Asked for a lemon juice and after a blank look got a lime cut into 3pieces on a plate . No safe, could not lock room, people next door could watch you shower and go to the toilet!!!!! How can you even have them on your books ???? Lost money because we had to pay for our accommodation again elsewhere!

Super nice family run the place. The place is really quant and they keep it super clean. Has a great pool and even get brekky included. For the money cant get better value. Best budget experience Ive ever had.

We stayed at standard room with twin bed, breakfast, wardrobe, AC and Fan, No warm water and bathroom amenities in the shower, No television as well, a bit far for walk to the mainroad. But the friendly and humble and they have beautifull garden with big fish pond.
• philgiammarino76 (6/5): Good value but lacking the basics - First off let me say that if the description of this place was more accurate I'd be writing a very different review. Here are the things that are inaccurate about the listing: No restaurant No front desk No room service No laundry (although the managing staff are happy to send it out for you) No massage or spa facilities Wi-Fi is spotty at best Now that I've said all that, my partner and I we're very comfortable here. The staff are courteous and friendly, the breakfast is served in the communal seating area downstairs and is pleasant, the Bali coffee is strong they will provide 2nds if asked, they allow you access to their small cooking kitchen for you to store food and cook your own meals if asked, the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was mosquito netting covering it. But I have stayed at other places in Bali for slightly more per night and the product was far superior. Here the bathrooms are private but open to the outside so expect to share with small lizards and ants. The bed had only a blanket, no sheet although one was provided when we asked. Part of the reason the bug netting is so necessary is that the carpentry for the 3 room doors is so poorly measured that we had to cover the gaps with duct tape. The only furniture in the room is a chair, a locking wardrobe, and a TV stand. The air conditioning worked as well as the fan but we were asked by the staff at check in to not run them both at the same time. Look, I appreciate that traveling in exotic locations away from the usual tourist places (like Jasri) means you can expect to lower your expectations, which we promptly did after a few hours and ended up having a wonderful time. This place is a great value at $17-20 USD/night. But do not expect this to be more than a bed, a nice light breakfast, a decent pool, and a place to store your stuff while you explore. It certainly is not a walkable location other than the small beaches nearby so expect to pay to either hire a motorbike or a driver to get to the nearby sights.
• 205sallyf (10/5): Excellent staff and value for money - This place is great. The staff are so friendly and helpful and cheap!! It's a bit home from home and family oriented. Please do not expect 5 star.... at £15 a night for 2 , breakfast included it's fantastic. The room was basic but clean, great air con. We had a choice of room on arrival and arrived early. It's very laid back and Maddy will do all she can to accommodate you. Thank you Maddy. There is no kettle or mini bar but she provided us with a flask of hot water so we could make tea and gave us ice for our cold drinks, (we took our own tea bags etc). Breakfast was basic but fine and certainly not the worst we experienced on this trip. The pool is great with no time limits, open 24hours. The beach is walking distance but not the best if you want to spend time sitting on the beach, it is used by the locals. The shops are within walking distance, basic stuff available. If I could find a negative, it's a bit off the beaten track and would suggest if you stay her for any longer than a couple of nights to get your own transport. It's not a place for metered taxis.

• loek_de_beer (8/5): Best value - This hotel/resort is by far the best value for my money that I've had. While not as spectacular as the places with the infinity pools, for fifteen bucks a night you get a good breakfast, a nice pool and decent rooms. The service and dinner were good too.
• Jordan1991W (10/5): Perfect stay - On arriving at the cottages me and my fiancée were shown straight to our room and given help with our bags, the room itself was brilliant, immaculately clean and tidy with a separate bathroom and shower and balcony looking over the beautiful courtyard which features a pond and swimming pool. The staff themselves were amazing, they helped us hire a scooter and recommended both things to do and also places to eat and visit, they really went above and beyond, on the second day I was feeling ill (no fault of the hotel) and the gentleman went to the trouble of calling his son in law, who was a nurse to help! The whole experience we have had staying here was excellent, the room had everything we needed, the staff went above and beyond and were super friendly and the location is very central for visiting the attractions like Ujung and Tirta Gangga (only a short scooter ride) Can't recommend enough!
• embjw0302 (10/5): Lovely people, nice place to stay! - We were SO HAPPY with this hotel! not only are the rooms really big, fitted with air con and fans and have a balcony, the staff are also really kind and helpful and happy to help with anything! The area isn't very touristy but we rented a scooter and explored the whole area as well as the beach areas, which aren't too far away! It's also very near 'Ujung water palace' and 'Tirta Gangga' which are worth a visit. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay!

• 717herrys (8/5): A good place with a good price - We stayed for just one night for a short trip in Karangasem. The location is near to some tourism attractions in Karangasem. The room was nice and quiet, the breakfast was decent. Just the garden needs a little bit more clean. With such cheap price, it's the best bargain.

Breakfast very simple, two out of tree of the outer door locks were broken in our room. We stayed for one night only.
• ritsaert (8/5): A great place - On our wy to Candidasa we stumbled upon this beautiful, quit, mysterious hotel in Jasri, the middle of nowhere. We loved it: the surroundings, the rooms, the fishpond. It has an unique ambience ans we would have loved to stay here longer.

• K3554CXericb (10/5): Nice people with a great location at the beach - The days at Kangkung cottages were great. We rented a bike to explore the neighborhood. White sand beach is nearby and a lovely place to enjoy the beach. We also took a ride to the water palace, classic village and just up the mountains. Beautiful!
• MirellaWighman (8/5): Close to the beach!! - We stayed three nights in Jasri. Kangkung cottage is a perfect place to stay for a longer time. The price for one night is really good for this neighborhood. The rooms are decorated in some kind of bamboo style. The rooms with two beds has a fan, the one with a double bed an airco and fan. The breakfast was good! The showers are cold. You are really close to the beach, amlapura, the supermarket and a gasstation. Really recommended if you would like to stay in a cheap and maintained guesthouse in Jasri.

It was one of the most valuable cottage in the area. we paid 300.000 per night compared the one closed to the sea (asked us for USD75/night). only for sleeping is more than comfortable. didnt check the pool as we went to the beach. breakfast is very basic, but it was more than enough for me. in case you need took at your budget, this place is a very good choice.

• ohbeeoh (6/5): Great little oasis - Stayed here with a friend and had a great time. We were welcomed and treated really well by the kind family. Had an amazing breakfast both days of banana pancakes. The second day we were there, they drove us around to the local sites to show us around as a kind of tour. We were really comfortable here, and although the rooms are basic, it's good value. One thing I would recommend is to make sure the place is easier to find on the map and on the ad. Thanks!
• lebedaslebenjetzt (10/5): quiet oasis - I spent 5 nights this May there as I was at a nearby wedding. It is simple, clean, nothing flash but the couple who look after the place will do everything to make you feel welcome. If there's anything you want done, just tell them and they're eager to help. Wayan was giving me lifts to the wedding venue no matter what time and they even got food for me. It is a bit out of the way so be prepared that you need transportation as there are no restaurants near by. There is free wifi at the main area and a few shops nearby. It is a place for walking and a bit exploring but mainly just to rest and relax and hang out in the pool. There is hardly any tourism and I had the place pretty much to myself...I will return!
