- Nicolas (9/5): Awesome stay, was perfect for our wedding night - Very cool building, it felt very historic and fancy compared to most hotels that I’ve stayed at. The innkeeper, Chris, was very personable and made a great breakfast. He chatted with us for a while and it was fun to learn some of his experiences. The room was very nice and clean, and felt quite premium. I wish the room had a mini fridge.

We had the Biltmore suite, which was just lovely and very comfortable. The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The entire building was cleaned top to bottom each morning by the caring staff. The public spaces are beautifully intertwined with the historic structure and modern connivences. Great location: can walk to the Denver Art Museum very easily and make your way around the area to local restaurants and bars. 12 Spirits lounge is very charming. Go to Denver, this is a must stay! - HeadHolz (10/5): My favorite - I have stayed at the Patterson many times over the past few years. It is ALWAYS my favorite destiantion when spending time in Denver. Chris and his crew are amazingly welcoming, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and inviting. The charm of this historic mansion never fails to impress me. It is walkable to the Denver Art Museum and downtown restaurants and activities in a beautiful neighborhood. Please do not give up on an opportunity to book here - you will not be disappointed.

The main reason we chose this place was because it’s not a typical hotel room, but something much more unique and full of character — and it absolutely lived up to our expectations. The room was beautiful and truly special. In the morning, we had the pleasure of meeting Chris, the owner, who was incredibly welcoming and kind. He took the time to chat with us, share tips, and make us feel at home — such a genuine and personal touch that made a big difference. Breakfast was also excellent: everything was fresh, with a small daily selection, but very well prepared and enjoyable. The only small downside was that we arrived after check-in hours, so we used the self check-in and there was no one available to assist us. The room was also a bit cold upon arrival. Overall, a wonderful and memorable stay — we would definitely recommend it.

- E3180QSbrookeh (2/5): Beware - I have always been wary of reviews. Well maybe not the review, but the reviewer. I just don’t get leaving negative reviews. Was in the intention? It seems cruel in some way. I root for people. I root for small businesses. Everyone has a bad night. And I, except for one other time, have only written positive reviews for the establishments I have been lucky enough to frequent. I feel deeply compelled to write this review (My intention is not to hurt a business. My intention is to hold someone accountable for behavior that is completely inappropriate). My review will be supplemented by other guests that also witnessed the altercation.The Patterson Inn is a lovely property. The rooms are well appointed and the included breakfast is wonderful (yummy and very fresh). And the staff minus the owner were great. The issue at the Patterson Inn is a singular issue - the owner is abusive, greedy, aggressive and downright scary. He feels a bit unhinged. Very defensive and quick to angry over a pretty small incident. I mean no disrespect to the owner to describe him this way but truly that’s how it felt. Even the emails he sent after my stay felt unstable. He kept calling me names and kept telling me “to cease and desist.” It was insane. For one of the nights I was in town, My Cousin stayed with me and was a witness to the incident and he almost called the police as Chris was yelling so loudly calling me an entitled victim. Another hotel guest approached me that afternoon and they were “horrified.” I should have left then and there. I am a 55 year old single woman who booked a week long stay at the Patterson Inn. I am a Denver native and recently moved to South Carolina but came home for the week to care for my elderly Mom. Patterson Inn is in the heart on Capitol Hill - a vibrant walkable area. First and most importantly, I do take full accountability in my part of the incident that occurred. Patterson Inn provides 3 parking spaces and there is generally ample street parking. However, that night when I came home the area was teeming with police cars. There was an active shooter in the area and the police were asking residents to “stay in place.” All the spaces at the Inn were full so I pulled my car into the loading zone in front of the hotel and my car was partially blocking another car in one of the Patterson spaces. The car had ample space to get out. I was in no way obstructing the driver from getting out of the space but I admit that I was probably a foot over the loading zone. I am 100 percent responsible for doing this. I tried and tried to apologize to Chris. I have never in my life had someone respond to me and treat me the way I was treated. Chris completely lost it. He threw a temper tantrum that was heard trough out the Inn and made the other guests profoundly unconfortable. See the other reviews from those guests. Chris brought me to tears yelling over me. He kept calling me victim and said “you don’t care about other people.” I’d never said more than hello to him prior to this interaction. I just keep trying to de-escalate the situation. My cousin and another guest recorded the exchange. Chris is also a big guy and as we were interacting at one point he stood up and postured himself in a way that I felt physically threatened. My cousin almost called the police. I honestly felt bad for parking inappropriately and did everything in my power to stay calm but chris really had trouble composing himself until he realized he’d made me cry. I apologized repeatedly for parking incorrectly and I even offered to leave the Inn but Chris said he would not refund my money. My whole goal during the interaction was to try and calm Chris down. I thought at the end of it that things had been resolved although myself and other guests certainly felt awkward and uncomfortable. I went out that day and bought Chris and his staff (who were wonderful) a Panetonne to again assert my apology and to hope to keep Chris calm and professional during the remainder of my stay. They staff loved it and ate it happily (Chris claims no one ate it because I might have poisoned it - I kid you not. I saw the front desk clerk eat it). The 4th day I was there my son was hit by a car while on his bike causing him to break both femur bones. Herein I needed to check out of the hotel and fly to be with my son in DC. I alerted the front desk clerk about the situation and asked if I could have a credit for the remaining nights to use at a later date. She said great but would need to check in with Chris. I gave it a couple days and reached out. When Chris finally responded he said there would be no credit. So I paid for 3 nights and he would not credit those nights back and then he again became belligerent. Don’t stay here. Don’t give money to this man. I’m sure he will go on a rampage after I post this review. I’m sure he has his thoughts. But recordings don’t lie and Chris needs to learn that behavior has consequences and this review is warranted. This is a response from Chris because I asked him for a credit for the 3 nights: Brooke: This is manic. You were asked to cease and desist. You continued. - kbazur (10/5): Fine time at The Patterson Inn - We had a lovely time staying in the "Library" room at The Patterson Inn last weekend. Great location, wonderful neighborhood and possibly the last mansion from Denver's gilded age still standing. The staff, the room, the wonderful architecture all made our stay a most enjoyable experience. Oh...and the breakfast. Wow, what a treat and the chef was man with a talent. We missed out on our complimentary Brekky due to early outings with tours but the food smelled incredible & the chef snuck us a frozen muffin as we were heading out which was one of the best muffins I’ve ever eaten.

The owner came down every morning to visit with each guest at breakfast to see how their stay was. He also was the bartender at the 12 Spirits Bar on site. The room we stayed in was the Prague. I wanted to take the bed home with me it was so comfortable!! Wow!! The room had a lot of room in it and the bathroom was huge and decorated very well! For breakfast we had a different savory and a sweet choice every morning. They were so delicious, seriously, the chef knows how to make breakfast!! So many things about this place I liked! I would recommend this Hotel to all the people I like going to Denver. Not to everyone, because I want to be able to get a reservation when I come back next time!

The place looks so grand in photos but with it’s crumbling sandstone façade, the bar in the basement no more (which we were looking forward to), the news of a cannabis lounge being put in the basement I’m not sure we would stay again. I do like the rooms and their themes, the bartenders were fantastic and the chef was super accommodating for food allergies. We did not walk the neighborhood as expected as I feel we couldn’t get a straight answer on safety in the area. We stayed in Cheshire and the room was huge. Could easily fit 4 plus people. The bathroom was impressive but needed some touch ups and a little mold in the shower. No AC so the room had a floor unit which was struggling to keep up. The wood windows were rotting, the furniture needs to attending and my heart was sad for the old building. It needs some serious TLC. There is no elevator to the third floor which made lugging suitcases and coolers a nightmare.

Parcheggio privato ,hanno varie soluzioni dandoti un permesso da mettere in macchina e non chiedono un costo aggiuntivo. Vista la cura che c'è non capisco la scelta dell'aria condizionata così. Era molto rumorosa. Colazione ,per carità non voglio assolutamente togliere nulla allo chef che la prepara al momento e al fatto che essendo che si prenota l'orario si fa colazione tranquilli. Però ,io sono una persona che mangia tanto a colazione ,anche a casa non solo in viaggio. Quindi ,quando mi è stata data scelta colazione dolce o salata (spiegate entrambe) ho scelto la dolce. Un waffle con due tipi di creme e due piccole salsiccette. Per carità ,buono sicuramente,però avevo ancora fame. Lo chef ha chiesto se eravamo a posto ,ma cosa dico? Di farmene un'altra di colazioni dolci?? Di prepararmi altro? Se mi dai due scelte io penso che quelle sono. Aggiungerei insomma dei fuori menù,cose che lo chef non deve stare a preparare. Che so,degli yogurt,delle fette di torta o muffin o similari,delle ciitoline con dei cereali. Magari farei un piccolo tavolo,così non prende tanto posto in sala e metterei li queste cose così se uno vuole può anche prendere dell'altro

This hotel is poorly run and I would avoid it at all costs - especially for the high prices that they charge. The staff are unhelpful and the ownership does almost nothing to resolve guest issues. They act as if they are completely uninterested in customer service. The only reason this is a two star review instead of a one star is because of the woman who works the front desk on the evening shift - she was very professional and helpful.

- Anthony (10/5): If you love yourself, you should stay here - This hotel is a actually a mansion from the turn of the century, so there is awesome history here. The staff went above and beyond. And I need to say this: the Breakfast is next level. DO NOT SKIP THE BREAKFAST. Brandon is the chef and he knows exactly what he is doing. You're robbing yourself if you don't start your day with his creations. Overall, this place is a total treat to stay at. It's easily an 11 out of 10.

My husband and I were thrilled with the woodwork and other features. It felt very relaxing and away from the troubles of today. The neighborhood is quiet and wonderful to walk with many smaller period houses of note. BUT, the most overwhelmingly positive aspects is the staff, including the outstanding chef, Bernard. WHAT BREAKFASTS!!! He is a genius with food and willing to share cooking tips. We will definitely be back, God willing and the cr'ek don't rise. Nothing!

If you want very comfortable bedding, beautiful 125 year old architecture, the best breakfast freshly made and a great small bar, this is your place. Supposedly they have ghosts , but none visited me. I love finding hidden gems and this is certainly a place I will come back to.

- T4437TWjaneb (10/5): Wonderful boutique hotel in a historic Denver mansion - My husband and I stayed at the Patterson Inn for two nights to celebrate his birthday. We chose the Patterson for it's location (an easy walk to the Denver Art Museum, Cheeseman Park, the State Capitol), and because it had been recommended by a friend. They were very communicative prior to our trip and each room reserves a breakfast time, as the included breakfasts are cooked fresh for each guest. Parking is free in front or at a nearby lot. The historic building is lovely with slightly creaky floors, and the room was comfortable, tasteful, with an excellent mattress, linens, bathrobes, and a lovely en suite bathroom. You can access your TV/movie accounts and there was a complementary glass of wine from the tavern next door (which serves small plates and delicious cocktails). We were also given a glass of prosecco and chocolates to celebrate the birthday. The staff were super, especially the chef, who is a tremendous host and clearly takes pride in his job. The breakfasts were great, with the choice of a savory or sweet dish each day (so we got both and shared for the best of both worlds). Overall we had a lovely stay and hope to return. We highly recommend the Patterson Inn for a relaxing and high quality experience.
