- Alastair (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay at the Royal Sun Resort and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tenerife. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our visit, which really made a difference to our experience. Our apartment was lovely and perfect for the four of us (two couples). The air conditioning was excellent, and the bathroom was impressively huge and spacious. The pool area was well maintained and provided a lovely spot to relax. A special mention must go to the breakfast buffet - it was incredible and we'd highly recommend adding this to your stay. We got into a great routine of eating breakfast at the hotel each morning, having lunch out while exploring, then cooking in the apartment each evening (we used the room service menu one evening, which was great value and delicious). The location proved to be a great base for exploring the island with a hire car, and the local area itself was fantastic. The only downside was that the kitchen felt quite dated with some very old appliances. We encountered a leaky kettle and a few items that were difficult to use or broken, but we managed to work around these issues. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The combination of excellent staff, comfortable accommodation, fantastic breakfast, and great location made for a memorable stay.

- Laura (10/5): Didn't want to leave! - Had at great stay at the royal sun. Our apartment was beautiful and we had everything we could need. We had a three bed on the top floor. The facilities in the room were superb, especially the jacuzzi. The bathrobe and slippers were a nice touch too. Beds were very comfortable. Whole apartment was spotless and great quality towels. The views were to die for at all times of the day. We also found the area very peaceful. Great to have our own area to chill in water and lounge on the sunbeds on the huge balcony. TV in main bed room too that has access to the balcony. All staff we met were great especially the blonde receptionist we met at check in. We didn't use housekeeping as we only stayed 5 nights and we tidy as we go but we met the ladies to change towels and get a few coffees and they were lovely also. Shop was really handy, you wouldn't be stuck for anything and nice staff here too. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on food or drink. The pool was a nice temperature and not too busy on our stay so my daughter had plenty fun here with her snorkel set. Loads of sun loungers and umbrellas on a beautiful deck. Sea views and a bar with ice-cream and snacks also. We did avail of a late check out and we were accommodated till 1pm for an extra ā¬20 which we were delighted with. Overall this is a great resort with everything you could need. The apartment was amazing for the money we paid so we felt it was good value for our group of 6. I would definitely return.

- Gareth (8/5): Fine but nothing special. - The hotel itself is fine. The staff are all very friendly and nice. Only had breakfast but it was very good value for ā¬12. A couple of issues - there is no lift to the 3 bed apartments on the 6th floor, only to the 5th then you have to climb some steps, so be aware if you have mobility issues. And no one offered to help with luggage. The room cleaning isnāt the greatest, they are nice but miss stuff and donāt refill shower gel ets. And the en suite shower leaked a lot. If the hotel was somewhere else Iād probably go back but Iāll never be back to Los Gigantes, go there to see the cliffs, but thatās it, it is a terrible town, absolutely no redeeming qualities.

We ended up eating out a lot despite having half board Takes 30-40 minutes to get a cocktail as only ever one person on the bar Entertainment isnāt good. Bar area is very dated & run down Overall aesthetic isnāt very nice - needs a revamp Pool area was closed for 5 days and we were not told before arriving (we were able to access another pool at a different hotel) So much construction going on next to hotel which wonāt be done for years. Always noise, rooms are not sound proof - can hear everything from above and neighbours

- Chuck (6/5): - The view from the room and dining area was amazing. The breakfast and dinner buffet was perfect. We were given a room with windows from the bathroom and one bedroom that opened directly to the childrenās play ground, restaurant, and the pool area that was one level up. The noise was an issue. When we asked front desk staff if we could move to a quieter area the response was unexpected. We were advised that because we booked through a third party, Expedia, they couldnāt do anything for us. After further discussion, the manager advised that if we paid a 50 Euro cleaning fee we could moveā¦..to a room directly beside the resorts only functional elevator. Just a different noise. We stayed put and made the best of our week. Restaurant staff were great. Not perfect but overall we enjoyed our visit to Tenerife. Construction on the street and in the immediate area is a definite issue. Not a noise issue but definitely makes accessing the property less than ideal. Not really controllable by the resort but an issue nonetheless.

- Kathryn (8/5): - The rooms were very outdated - it was like walking into the early 1990s. The view from the balcony made up for it though. It was breathtaking. The location is good, walking distance from the small town. Nice pool. The breakfast buffet was excellent. We signed up to get a hotel transfer from the airport with the hotel and the driver was 40 minutes late with no communication to us. Also it was a different driver as mentioned. It would have been easier to get an Uber or regular taxi.
- Sandra (10/5): Wonderfull place - The hotel is located on a mountain, with incredible views of Los Gigantes and the ocean from the balcony. Warm pool in January, two high-quality restaurants with delicious dishes. The rooms are comfortably designed with large balconies and sun loungers. Responsive and professional staff, very polite and hospitable. We were very happy that our choice fell on this hotel, the only thing I could not get used to was the hard mattress, but this is personal preference. Sun Resort Hotel met all our expectations, I recommend it.

The lift near our apartment was being upgraded and the whole street is being resurfaced. The actual hotel rooms are great (albeit out dated) with big balconies over looking the sea. Amazing views. - Mark Robert (8/5): - Upon arrival we were quite concerned about the outside roadworks however our concerns were unfounded due to the welcome we received by the Reception Team and the beautiful apartment that greeted us. Spacious, clean, comfortable beds and with a most amazing balcony and views. Iām sure next time we visit, the outside updating of roadworks will be complete and it will be better still. Great holiday and great value and great apartments/views.
- Siobhan (8/5): Lovely hotel but not for younger kids. - Apartments are fab. Have everything you need. Water fountains on each floor for drinking water. Beds v comfy. Didnāt find it great for the kids (10,7,5). Pool was nice and view stunning but there wasnāt any organised play for them, room of the pool but more free play. Also, no mini disco or other activities. Buffet was good but nothing amazing. Staff were nice. Itās very high up, trek back after being down the town.

Was very busy, busier than usual apparently. Animation team kept the kids busy, pool bigger than it looks. Road works made it a nightmare to park- we hired a car, however we heard no noise or disturbances. Amenities close by including a Lidl. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would return.
- Dawn (10/5): - Great hotel with very large apartments that are in a good condition, the terrace was huge and great views. There was a lot of construction right outside the hotel but didn't affect our stay. Our room 315 was very noisy, we could hear noice from the pool and from the kitchens.

- Abigail (8/5): - We loved our stay at Royal Sun hotel. The view from the appartments is absolutely stunning and like nothing weve ever seen. The breakfast was delicious..and the staff helpful. We asked for an early check in which they said they would try to accomodate and after a long day traveling we were very grateful when our room was ready ahead of time. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. There is some work going on at the hotel and outside it. There were a few points when water / power was cut off. It didnt spoil our holiday, but its something to keep in mind. We'd have still stayed here again given the choice. The town is a walk down the hill away but its worth the walk - lots of shops, cafes and the beach here we thought was one of nicest around. All in all an absolutely lovely holiday in a quiet part of the island with amazing views. Thanks Royal Sun!
- Aneta (10/5): - The hotel is incredible. We stayed in the standard suite and were given the 4th floor. The bed was comfortable and hotel was quiet, so we slept very well. The bathroom was ultra luxurious with large walk-in shower and good quality hairdryer. The terrace views are stunning and thereās table with chairs and 3 loungers. We wanted to dine in the Aqua restaurant, however the choice of food was very limited. Only 4 mains and tasting menu (which had uninspiring mains as well), so we ended up only having cocktails on their terrace, which were lovely. So was the breakfast in the other restaurant, which had all you could think of, including Cava. There were only few minor dislikes, there was construction all around the hotel, so not very appealing to walk through. There was no washing machine. The hotel car park was full, so had to look for parking elsewhere. All in all I would definitely return.

- Mark (10/5): Excellent apartments with wonderful views - We stayed in one of the renovated, luxury apartments. They were finished to a high standard, and have a large outside terrace with jacuzzi and a great view on the sea. The beds were very comfortable. There were two bathrooms, which makes the apartment very convenient for friends.

- Julie Theresa (10/5): - This property has incredible views from the rooms as it is high up the mountain in Los Gigantes. You can walk to and from the town/marina in about 18 minutes, (longer coming up) but taxis are cheap enough if you need a lift. It was fairly quiet when we were there so plenty of sunbeds if necessary and the pool wasn't too busy either. The rooms were lovely and spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. The balcony area was huge with 3 sunbeds, a table and chairs and a rail for drying things so suited us immensely. We used the mini-market a few times which although a bit more expensive, was very useful when we couldn't find the energy to go back out again. Overall a lovely hotel, you could stay up there if you had all inclusive and not need to come out but you would them miss out on the lovely town of Los Gigantes and the day trips from the marina. We hopped on a local bus and for just over 16 euros went to Los Christianos for the day but we much preferred Los Gigantes as it is much more scenic and less touristy.

- michael (10/5): - Lovel hotel. We had a two bedroom apartment, which was spacious and well equipped. The balcony was huge and there were sun longers and an outdoor dining table. The sea views were stunning. The apartment we stayed in was a little dated and would have been the original 80s kitchen and shower room...though would have been high quality when first fitted and was still in good condition. The pool area was where we spent most of our time. This area is outstanding. The pool bar was also very reasonably priced. Joe, the entertainer was an absolute star. There were activities all day which he ran for the children and parents. Paddle board yoga in the pool was probably the highlight. There are two restaurants in the hotel: one is fine dining and has an outstanding reputation, though we never ventured in. The other restaurant serves a buffet in the evening which we went to on one occasion and we were very impressed with the quality and quantity of food on offer. We would definitely go back.....
- Harry (10/5): - The resort was clean, the size of the balcony in the room and views from it were beautiful, the food in the restaurants was great. Although usb ports for charging phones would have been a nice inclusion; the room contained anything else you could possibly need. The temperature of the pool and the rooms in march were definitely a little cold in the morning and at night, but everything heated up by the afternoon. The only real issue of the resort is the walk from it into town; not only is it long, but whilst we were visiting there was loud ongoing construction of a new property down the road making for a less than pleasant walk.

I have book via expedia and was supposed to have 2 bathrooms, but the apartment ended up to have only one and no extensible sofa as in the description. The only good point of this hotel was the breakfast and the staff attending it (really nice and helpful). At the check out, again the front desk experience was very āunique ā and I was refused to be given a bill.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Royal Sun Resort is a lovely hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Our apartment was big, clean, and very well equipped. The terrace was large , the hot tub was spacious, and the views....AMAZING! A panoramic view of the ocean, marina, and cliffs! The nearest beach, Los Guios, is quite small, but is spectacular.

- oleksandr (8/5): Good place with a view - Location and layout of hotel is outstabding. All rooms have oceanview with amaizing view of Los Gigantes mountains. We stayed at this place 2015 and 2020. The view is still there:) but hotels need a bit of a work. Bit better towels and linnens. Slight smell in the room. To the owners. If you guys address towels and linnens your place is unbittable in Los Gigantes. The view and terraces are breathtaking.

- Bassima (2/5): Disappointing. - My husband and I had disappointed experience for so called 4-stars hotel. To start with the additional 3 euros for using the safe and 20 euros deposit for using the pool towels. The location has a nice view except the construction business outside the hotel which blocks the entrance and the cars coming close to the gate. Room service is minimal unless if you run behind them and ask for proper service. Room was very old, appliances were broken, Internet was bad. The suites has a gab to the passage area that we could hear every movement either by children running around or a long loud conversation by the housekeepers. We had a surprise, unannounced visit by two internet technicians to the room without permission.

Things that could be improved: more drawer space (there was none);a guide to how to use the equipment in the apartment (your only option is to ring reception); provide a few dishwasher and washing tablets; improve reception - staff were not always helpful.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - I've stayed here twice in accommodation that has a very large balcony with table, chairs and loungers and a beautiful view of the sea to the front and the cliffs to the side. We had a kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster and coffee machine. As well as a shop on site, there is a big Aldi and smaller supermarket within walking distance. You are situated high up so walking down to the bars, marina, mini golf, pool complexes etc needs an amount of basic fitness - but we enjoyed the exercise and factor it in! Car hire is easy and we hired a car to explore and to visit Mount Teide which is worth a visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely modern clean apartment with everything you needed for a self catering holiday, we were also given an upgrade which was a lovely surprise and made our stay. The dishwasher was broken and full of dirty water when we arrived but was resolved quickly after reporting it. Reception staff were great and breakfast was also very good. Pool was a little small but that was fine. Views from the balcony were amazing.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Second time visitors, excellent stay. - Second visit to this lovely Hotel. Had organised a personal transfer for me and my wife through The Royal Sun; driver was waiting for as as soon as we left the arrivals lounge and the journey took approx 40 min. Check in was quick and efficient but as we were a little early arriving our room wasn't ready so we went to the pool bar for a drink while we waited. Our room (420) was located on the right hand side of the hotel as you look at it and well away from the ongoing room renovations which are on the left hand side of the property. The room and kitchen area was well equipped with everything you'd expect from a SC apartment; a large bathroom with a huge walk in shower and lots of complimentary toiletries. The large balcony was well equipped with 3 sun loungers and a table with 4 chairs offering stunning views of Los Gigantes Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean over to the island of La Gomera. We booked independently (Self Catering) and so didn't experience the restaurants available (there are plenty of excellent places to eat out of an evening in Los Gigantes and Santiago which are walkable.

- Ian (8/5): āWhat a Viewā - Based on a recommendation from a friend, we chose Royal Sun Resort for our first visit to Los Gigantes. The hotel proved to be a very good choice. We loved the location on the top of the hillside, beneath the towering cliffs. We enjoyed the walks up and down the hill, but chose to get a taxi (3-4 Euros) in the evening after a few drinks and dinner. The views from all rooms/apartments are truly stunning. From our balcony (Room 119), we could look out over the town and harbour of Los Gigantes, and over to the island of La Gomera...fabulous!! The apartments are spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Huge, comfortable beds in the bedrooms, with ample wardrobe spaces. Lounge, complete with 3-piece suite, and flat screen TV (with all four UK terrestrial channels). A functional kitchen with adequate self-catering facilities. The bathroom was large, complete with bidet, and walk-in shower. The staff are brilliant. Friendly, helpful, and thoroughly professional. Our accommodation was on a bed & breakfast basis, and we really enjoyed the buffet breakfasts in the dining room. The choices were endless, freshly prepared, and constantly replenished. We enjoyed our stay, and hope to return to the resort again in the future,
- geevee (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel with good facilities. Playground being renovated so limited activities for the kids. The food was good but choices could be expanded and not be as repetitive particularly at dinner time. Hotel needs to do something about the flies.
- David (10/5): Amazing views in Los Gigantes. on the slopes, - Wendy was an amazing reception staff when we checked in . She is British and fully understood our needs and very friendly. A great start to our hotel stay. When she was off duty the other hotel staff was less enthusiastic and seems bored at times. The room we got was amazing , newly renovated and the balcony was huge. Overlooking the whole of Los Gigantes with amazing views over the sea. We wanted somewhere quiet and this has been the perfect hotel for us. Even got bath robes, slippers. Room cleaning everyday which was welcomed, some other hotels only do this every few days. The indoor pool was great for the kids and we swam every day. All in all very happy and impressed with the whole hotel. Will definitely go back next time in tenerife.
- Maria (8/5): Amazing views of the cliffs and ocean - We had a fabulous time at the Royal Sun, a range of flexible dining prices and reasonable prices for drink. Views were amazing, set in the hillside you can lay on your sunlounger overlooking the ocean. Lots gigantes is a nice base with a range of bars and restaurants without being too noisy. Plenty of trips and activities if wanted. We went diving with seascuba with 3 teenagers children and had a great experience. Would go back again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Super views and very large rooms. - Excellent views of the cliffs. Very large room and balcony. It has everything in the big apartments. Very relaxing resort and popular. Those who don't like hills or inclines may want to use the many local taxis. We found it all ok even with shopping. Supermarkets are close by at the top and if you have no hire car then there are two within 10 mins walk. There is one on site too. The gym was good for a work out.

It was within walking distance of pubs, bars and the beach, but still quiet enough to really enjoy a relaxing stay. Only downsides were receptionists who were unecessarily rude and condescending on our first day, and the fabulous hot tub just didn't get warm enough in the evenings
- Christopher (8/5): Nice hotel quite area - The hotel was close enough to town to walk and far enough to have quiet times. The beds were way to hard and we could have used one more electric outlet in the kitchen. the balcony was excellent with good loungers and a spectacular view. Parking was no problem, getting around town was easy. We did have an issue with one of the grocery stores, LIDL in Los Gigantes short changed us at the cash, later to find out that it happens regularly. We rented a car and did lots of exploring of the island overall a great trip.
- joanne (10/5): Great views, great location, great hotel - From arriving to leaving the overall experience was fantastic. 2nd visit, will deffinatly be back. Booked self catering but didn't cook in room as wasn't worth it, upgraded breakfast 7 day meals ā¬50 each adult ā¬28 for child, wasn't worth wasting time shopping, breakfast was buffet so had what ever you want, didnt need to eat till went out for evening meals. Get Royal sun towels for 20euros deposit refunded when you return towel, didn't need to take our own which would have freed up luggage space. If you hire car they have underground carpark for ā¬5 per day. Safe in room ā¬3 per day. There was entertainment on each night as well and activities round the pool each day.

- Denise (4/5): Wendy is rude and the whole place is filthy - I'm really surprised that this hotel gets such good reviews, i can only assume the other reviewers had low expectations to begin with. On arrival we were greeted by Wendy (when i say greeted, i mean we were glared at. No help with luggage, some 4 star hotel! !). We realised very quickly that we were given the wrong room, we booked a room with a deep soaking tub (we have two small children so a bath was a necessity) but all we had was a shower. I went to tell Wendy this who rudely told me that only 4 rooms in the resort had a bath and even after showing her my contract was told 'well that is an arrangement our agents make with hotels.com, if we knew this was a special request from you we could have accommodated this'. She refused to accept that it wasn't a special request if it was on my contract!! She then made a song and dance about moving us to a 5th floor room (apparently you should pay more) but eventually we got our death trap of a bath. The room was always dirty (not daily housekeeping but every other day and even then they work to no fixed schedule) and we had to wear slippers all the time as your feet were black from the floor. Flies in the restaurant (onion rings and nuggets for breakfast!!) No dvd player, no memory foam bed. Just awful. The children's pool is always in shadow so it is hypothermia cold and the play areas are dirty little rooms with broken toys. The only upside is the balcony which is large and useful. Oh and the wifi doesn't work anywhere.

They had a problem with our room on the first night as glass had been broken, so they had to put us in a 2 bedroom apartment for one night. They gave us all a free breakfast and free car parking for the week for the inconvenience.

Compensated us with free use of restaurant which was above average, currently updating rooms too. Reception staf very helpful. faulty air con unit fixed within 24hrs.
- Wordlywise (10/5): Top Accommodation - Great hotel in a peaceful resort. Has something for everyone and can act as a good base for those who want to explore the island. Staff in hotel are second to none, attentive and always willing to solve issues that arise. Accommodation is fantastic for the price. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. View from EVERY room can only be expressed as impressive. Go there and see for yourself! It certainly has the wow factor.

- Sp (8/5): - We had a nice stay here. The only thing I would mention is that the rooms should have AC as it was very hot. The nights were uncomfortable due to the heat. The hotel staff did provide us with 1 portable AC to help us out. Overall experience was good!

- Karen (10/5): Nice hotel - We stayed for a week at the end of May 2016. There was six of us sharing a two bedroom apartment. We had a great time, apartment was clean. Balcony was fantastic with a fabulous view. We stayed around the pool area during the day and drinks from the poolside bar which was really reasonable. There is a Lidl within walking distance of the hotel, although on the way it is downhill so we had to get a taxi back uphill. You can easily walk down to the marina area, but walking back up can be a struggle. There was a fantastic Chinese restaurant on the way down which I think was call Peking Garden and the food was delicious and so reasonable; in fact we went back on three occasions it was that good. We had a banquet for 5 people (there was actually 6 of us) plenty of food and very cheap.
- suz (10/5): Would I go back??? Yes I can't wait - From the moment we arrived the staff where friendly and accommodating. We arrived just before 10pm and reception called the shop to keep it open late so we could pick up supplies. Room was great, we had a refurbished bathroom in our apartment. Balcony was huge and a great place to chill, I didn't feel over looked by other apartments. We didn't try the food in the restaurant, but we did eat by the pool and found it value for money. As for the wifi - your on holiday........... we managed to get it ok around the pool area and sometimes in the apartment. It was out of the way (which we love) but still in walking distance to the places at night (not sure I would like to do the walk in the hot sun!), but there is a free bus to the beach, we didn't use as we had a car.
- Paul (10/5): Fantastic hotel and location. - The hotel is ideally situated above the harbor with fantastic views of the sea and Los Gigantes rocks. The hotel and the facilities are very good and value for money with taxis supplied to take you to the village or beach on a regular basis. We found the staff to be friendly and very helpful giving us a warm welcome when we arrived.We have been coming to this part of the island for ten years and believe we have found the perfect place to stay and will come back later in the year.
- Cath (10/5): Amazing apartment with fantastic views - Two night stay in a gorgeous 3 bed apartment on the 6th (top) floor. Apartment was spacious, immaculate and had such comfy beds. Views from the vast terrace were amazing! We also enjoyed the pool area and bar, and breakfast was also very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a fabulous stay!

- Phil (10/5): Wonderful - The view that follows you everywhere. The perfect pool. Fantastic staff. Comfy rooms and all the facilities you need. The town of Los Gigantes is lovely and it's all a short hop from the airport and busier resorts of Adeje. We self-catered so can't say about the food. The rooms could do with a little updating but no problem. Try the great Italian restaurant one minute down the road on the left.

The pool area was beautiful! The hotel is a bit far up the hill but it is a fabulous location for amazing sea views. There also wasn't much happening in the evening. On a Friday night the hotel bar was closed. All in All was a lovely stay.
