- b0thit (8/5): Nice place outside Chiang Mai City - I drive from city around45mins facing with nature and stream. But property abit old and slippery during raining, I had coffee at their cafe not too bad. Must try if you have free time.
- 732kennyh (10/5): A gem of a resort in the middle of a beautiful jungle. - This resort is fantastic. It is in the middle of what they call “The Jurassic Park of Thailand.”. It is in a lush beautiful valley and a giant pool that is more like a lake that connects all the hotel pool villas, so you can just walk out your back door and into this amazing pool. Some of the best ethical elephant sanctuaries are minutes away (Elephant Adventure Park and New Elephant Home I highly recommend.). The restaurant has amazing thai food and a good breakfast and the manager of the restaurant , Thai, is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He was so helpful my week there. Now it is outside the scope of any app that delivers, but the resort has much of anything you could want or they have cars that for a fee will take you into town. The villas are beautiful, the a/c strong, the beds comfortable. I cannot say enough great things about this lovely and unique resort! I can’t wait to come back!

- DGC12345 (10/5): Peaceful & Relaxing - The resort is in a beautiful location in the forest at the side of the river. The rooms are quite old, but the feel and design are really nice. The best thing here though are the staff. Front Office, Restaurant and House Keeping were faultless and couldn't do enough to help. You are a bit far out from town, but to be honest, the town doesn't offer much when you are surrounded by so much beauty. There are many local attractions nearby if you have or hire a car. Just ask for some locations from the girls on front desk. Overall loved our stay here, big thanks to the staff.

- icodrummer (10/5): Paradise on earth - The resort is wonderful, excellent staff, wonderful owners of the resort, perfect food, excellent breakfast. The resort is located in an idyllic place surrounded by a forest. The resort has two large swimming pools that look like paradise surrounded by tropical plants. Bungalows and villas look fantastic, everything is decorated in the original autochthonous style. It is very clean and the staff cleans and tidies up every day. I would recommend everyone to visit this paradise on earth. Ivica, Switzerland🇨🇭
- Fuangfah (10/5): Again a fantastic stay - This was our second 3 night stay at Sibsan (last time in 2016) and again we really loved it. So nice!! Beautiful setting and natural environment with lots of vegetation, stunning pool (the best) and very nice and clean villas with all amenities, just great. Recommend pool villa to be at the edge of the so incredible pool.
- Manualders (8/5): Nice hidden hotel in the green - I had the pleasure to stay in the Siblan Resort for only 1 night. However, it was a pleasant stay in a very nice, big and comfortable room. The gardens are lush, the swimming pool is huge and the scenery is very nice. The staff shows a lot of dedication, and is very helpful, but lacks a bit of understanding English. We took our dinner in the restaurant, which was very good and plenty. Seen the fact that there were not so many people in the hotel, they organized a set breakfast with a mini buffet to choose items from. The view in the morning mist was unforgettable. This is the perfect location to explore the nearby waterfalls, elephant camps and do some white water rafting. Just try not to fall off your raft.

Our first cottage was unacceptable as it smelt strongly of sewage, so we were moved after complaining. Prices for food & drink very high. No shelf in the shower - had fallen off ages ago so had to put shower gel/ shampoo etc on the floor. Place was almost empty for first 2 says! Expensive ecperience gor what you get. Wouldn't recommend it.
- therumrunner (10/5): Beautiful Resort and Architecture - Everything was excellent. Resort, rooms, service. Loved the pool area. The architecture of the resort is amazing. It compliments the ancient temple which you can see in the distance. Reasonable prices as well.
- sallyearl2020 (10/5): A solo Christmas at Sibsan - A most welcoming hotel with helpful staff, especially Ning and Bone, who organised my transport to Sukhothai and restaurant manager Chai who attended to my every need as a first-time, mature, solo traveller. Excellent food. The spa treatment was superb although I found it a little chilly. Father Christmas arrived on Christmas Eve with his followers - delightful. The pool was an interesting shape but there was a lack of sunbeds and umbrellas - my fault for not asking. The resort was spread out with bicycles available. The Café Bar was charming and picturesque situated by the gurgling river with well-tended plants. I had just spent two days at the near-by Elephant Nature Park, so this venue was ideal.
- 168shyb (6/5): Amazing location, far from any center, place is operating poorly - In the forest are charming cabins, Amazing Location, Very far from any center, it is necessary to eat at the only restaurant in the hotel and the food is not amazing, and very expensive. When we left the hotel we were asked to pay 900 THB (30$) for a very small crack in a toothbrush tool, of course we did not cause it.

- _H2194QN (2/5): Bad experience - We have been in this resort on March 2018. We took 2 rooms with our children. We put our money in the safe box in the morning and we went for a trip. At about seven o'clock in the evening we came back, I try to opene the safe box and it was looked. We call the hotel and they sent someone to open it for us. The guy came with a set of keys and he couldn't find the right one, he went back to the lobby and came back with the key. He opened the safe and left. I saw that some money was missing. Someone took 2,700 dollars from our safe. We called the police and we talked with the manager and they did nothing. They didn't take responsibility for nothing, and we stayed with 2,700 dollars less in the pocket. I am not recommending to go to this resort we had terrible experience.

- aoung_k (10/5): Love the pool, Big room, free bicycle - This hotel is far away from the city. Nice hotel, big room, nice bathtub. I love the scenary and the place is clean. It was quiet when we were there. The pool was nice with Jacuzzi but there is always some small insects in the water as it is super natural. The lower pool does not look that clean so we did not go down. The concktail promotion is worth the moeny. Nice breakfas. Polite staff.
- jujurio (4/5): Not worth the money you pay... - For the price I paid for this hotel, the quality was not as good as I expected. I knew that the hotel was quite far from the city center of Chiangmai, but it was about 1.5 hrs away and I felt that it was too far. (I recommend that you use grab (Uber-like app) to get to the hotel. It’s about 800 bhats, but if you use s regular taxi it will be about 1200-1500 Bhats.) I expected this hotel to be in a very country side, but it was not as remote as I expected and didn’t really see the value of going so far and not getting a hidden resort experience. The staff members were not so friendly. The facilities in the hotel were not so well maintained. The only positive part was a good and wide range of breakfast.

Bath room was on the other side of the room. After taking batch, the whole room would be all wet the whole day. Very strange design. Not comfortable at all.
- MAKta (6/5): Very average - If you've ever stayed in 5 star you'll soon find out that this resort is anything but a 5 star resort, it's an ok 3 star. The rooms are ok but old and a bit moisty and I was in a decent room aparently. The food was very good and the service was friendly but most of the staff couldn't speak english at all. I don't recommend it for the price.

- owlesey (10/5): So very peaceful - After nearly a month away from home staying in cheaper accomodation this place in low season was pure bliss! I stayed in the standard room and it was beautiful and comfy bed for Asia. The pool here is massive and I really enjoyed swimming in the evening and we had whole pool area to ourselves as resort very quite. Breakfast at this time of year is off a menu and very plentiful and no running out of food like others have said. Also great to have English channels on tv and the staff were very friendly. I was just sad we were only there one night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Jungle paradise - This place is amazing! It is about and hour outside of Chiang Mai so if your ok paying about $30 to get into the city this place is great. It is also within 5 minutes of the Elephant Nature Park which is the non-abusive elephant sanctuary. There is also an elephant park right next door, sadly, this is the type that exploits elephants. This spa was great as welll!
- klimCL (6/5): Charming, but Peak Period is Pricy too Much - Paid for it dearly over the peak period and expectations was set too high. That is my way to put it in a few words. I never had to queue for breakfast, but I had to do so here. My hungry kid did not help to the situation at all. It was overcrowded during breakfast and they were understaffed. It was like an army came back from war and wiped the food clean during some moments, no food and waited forever to be refilled, and some was never. So, if you are ever here during a tourist storm, come sit at the table 6 am and be the first to eat and enjoy the full spectrum of food without the ordeal I went through. It was winter I was there, one of the highlights of the hotel is the heated outdoor jacuzzi by the main pool. Well, it was not working. So, somehow, justice not for the peak charges I paid. That aside, this hotel can really be awesome, come during low season when the price is very right. Sibsan is on the far side of the northern world, in between elephant camps. The road beside the hotel leads into elephant country. And in there, a vast area with many inhabitants that are off the electricity grid. I had a rental car, and ventured in. Rural straw huts selling produce and serving as restaurants, immense elephant camps, villages, a very scenic valley, an attractive café, the road leads to Pai. After dark was really dark. Those without a car, there will be some activities in and surrounding the resort they can indulge in. In the morning, ox carts, the sound of gentle lashing whips. A torrent of theses passed by the entrance hauling tourist to explore the region. And in between the rumbles now and then, the dust settled revealing postcard scenes of elephants on their slow pace with tourist high up their backs. You don’t get to see things like these very often in Thailand on public roads. Within the resort a good enormous compound itself. You can get the buggy to ferry you around. But walked much I did and explored, found a charming café situated next to a river. Sipped coffee, listened to water. The red bridge adjacent stretches across to the other side. The kid, a playground nearby I let her loose. A short family trip it was, just 2 cold nights. The alluring cool of December made everything pleasant fortunately.
- MaryP137 (8/5): Quiet, Peaceful and Friendly - We chose this hotel because is was near Nature Elephant Reserve. We stayed here for 4 days and used it as a base for other day trips. The grounds are lovely, staff attentive and friendly. The bungalows are very nice though maybe not ultra luxurious. There is a huge beautiful swimming pool. I was concerned that it didn’t seem very clean, but i swam laps everyday and suffered no ill effects. We had several massages in the spa and were pleased. The Thai food in the restaurant was very good - but maybe the western breakfast selection could be nicer (just little things like better jams, yogurts etc). I liked the small eco-friendly gestures: toiletry dispensers in the bungalows and a water cooler in the gym for water bottle refills, plus restaurant would refill our bottles. I was sad about the horrible elephant riding park next door -we saw them use a bull hooks on rides, elephant painting and soccer. So research your elephant experience carefully before you go.
- nut (10/5): Perfect hotel for relaxing! - Nice view. Recommend for family or couple trip. In the morning you can see elephant in the Ping River. It’s so adorable and hotel provides free bicycle for traveling in hotel. So comfy and I definitely go back to stay at Sibsan again Just one thing, staff at hotel restaurant is not good as expectation he’s quite unfriendly and the menu price is quite expensive. You’d better have dinner outside hotel.
- LaserDK (6/5): Two nights maximum - Situated in a remote location which is quiet and where air is fresh; good for relaxation. And with the remoteness, it also comes with its downside of not being convenient to food choices. Room is spacious and clean, but the bathtub takes a long time to fill - close to an hour if you're not using the shower head. They make your bed twice a day - once in the day (when you're out for breakfast), and the other in the evening (where they also lower the curtain blinds for privacy). Explore past the bridge where the café is and you'll discover that there're back roads to the adjacent elephant camp. There's also a local vegetable patch. To get there, it's cheaper to get on a cab and travel to the resort than to request for airport pickup which Sibsan quotes 1500 baht for. A cab would generally cost about 800 baht.

- JeffreyM679 (6/5): Three nights near Chiang Mai - My wife, 18 month old son and I overall had a pleasant experience. The resort buildings and rooms have been around for a while, but the rooms still had a nice character to them. We opted for the Executive Villa, which had a seperate lounge room and worked well at night when our son was sleeping, so we didn't have to be overly quiet. The sliding door between the two rooms was beautiful in its wood carving design, but not sound proof. We used a white noise generator and it worked fine for us. The pool is amazing, and covers a huge area. The garden was also very beautiful, and it was really enjoyable walking around the resort. The is a tower you can walk up on the resort which gives a great panoramic view. They also have a nice cafe down by the river which is a pleasant experience to visit. There is also a small children's play area and two sheep, in a pen which our son enjoyed visiting. We did unfortunately have a very poor experience with the main restaurant there for dinner all the nights we were staying there. While all the staff in the resort typified the friendliness of the Thai people, for the price we paid, we were expecting a much higher level of service. Issues we had were very long wait times from ordering to food arrival, ordering drinks 15 mins before the end of happy hour and then taking 20 to arrive and being told we couldn't get happy hour prices anymore and missing items from our room service order, even though it was on the bill. One instance we ordered food for our son, waited 40 mins and asked 3 different people to check on our order. None of them returned with an update. It wasn't until I stood at the cash register for 10 mins and forced one poor guy to give me an answer, that he finally came back and told us they didn't have that dish in stock!! Apart from the Elephant sanctuaries, there didn't seem to be anything else around the resort to visit or to eat at. We thought 3 nights was long enough.
- T940CFdavej (6/5): Remote location in lovely grounds, but ----- - The resort is in a great location; remote, quiet, relaxing with outstanding scenery, but with a captive clientele. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and clean, but without bedside tables. Lovely grounds with an observation tower to see the local area, a play areas for children, a small petting zoo and scenic views of the river running along the rear boundary. Then things start to go wrong. The large swimming pool looks grubby (may be with grey / blue tiles) with some tiles missing leaving possibly sharp edges. No pool attendants. Restaurant staff showing little interest. Poor food choice for evening meals and breakfast. This is not a 5* hotel, but has the potential for such a classification.
- nan (10/5): Elegance at a reasonable price. - Helpful staff. Beautiful, exceptionally well cared for lanscaping. Just one problem— when room card is removed, all power shuts down- including air conditioning. So the choice is sleep with lights on with air conditioning or turn all off and awaken when it gets too hot. Nonetheless it was a wonderful spot that I would certainly recommend to others.
- Chanthou (6/5): Outer skirt of chiang mai resort - This resort is an hour an twenty minutes away from downtown Chiang Mai. If you like privacy and enjoy the non business of the city life. This is the resort for you. Their restaurant is over priced. The food is average quality and not four stars. You can have better food in downtown chiang mai or from steer vendors. Their free breakfast, however is pretty good. Lastly, I didn't get the villa/room I had upgraded.

- 은정 (8/5): 코끼리를 보려면 여기!! - 호텔 서비스가 아주 좋았어요. 음식도 맛있었고요. 수영장은 개인 풀과 공용 풀이 있었는데, 개인 풀은 키 140 이상이어야 즐길 수 있어요. 잘 관리되어 있고요. 공용 풀은 아주 깨끗하진 않았어요. 공기에서 코끼리 동물원 냄새가 났어요. 대신 카페에 앉아서 코끼리를 타고 강을 건너는 사람들을 매일 볼 수 있죠. 전체적으론 만족이에요. 다음에 또 가고싶어요.

- Verified traveler (10/5): 理想的なリゾート - 理想的なリゾート。空港から一時間以上かかるので、交通費がタイにしては驚くほどかかります。その分静かで、まるで池のようなプールやゾウを眺められる川や、素晴らしい点がたくさんあります。街で買い物などを計画されているなら、宿泊先を分ける方がいいと思います。 私は街の郊外に二泊したあとここに移りました。環境が本当にすばらしく、夜にぞうの遠吠えを聞いたり、明け方鶏やセミの声をきくのは楽しかったです。ただ中のレストランのお味がう〜ん悪くないんですが普通。前のホテルが美味しくて、しかも料金が三分の一だったんで、そこが残念でした。ここではタイのリーズナブルさはないです。夕方にも掃除にきてくれるんですが（ベッドメイクもしてくれる）これは要らなかったです。

Loved the entire grounds and the fact that there were bicycles for guests to sign out and ride around the resort. A great place to relax and unwind. Also very convenient to visit the Maetaeng Elephant Park next door. Room and grounds were very well cleaned and maintained. There was always staff maintaining the grounds. Felt very safe in the location with security present. Loved being able to see the elephants pass by all day long with our river view villa. Also very much enjoyed the spa experience as the technician did a great job and was very professional. We arranged our transfer back to the airport with Sibsan and because we had to leave before breakfast they were kind enough to arrange a breakfast box to go. We were very impressed by this and appreciated the thought.

- Jack (6/5): There are other options - Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place, super quiet, beautiful pools. But service is inconsistent and rooms are not equipped as shown. I booked a superior with a large bed and tub. When I got there, it was: Sorry your room doesn't have a tub and we just push the two twin beds together to make a big bed. (Well, I don't like falling in the crack every time I need to hug my lady.) "Oh, sorry, room with tub and one big bed is 500 baht more a night." Alright, let's do that. Hmm, then no iron or ironing board, 3 hangers, no DVD player and amusingly low water pressure... wait for it, wait for it... the hot water I mean. There's also a nice set of instructions as to using the tub. Something like this: "Water heater is shared by two villas, so fill the tub halfway with COLD water and then add hot to your comfort level." Okay, so what about the food? Certainly Chiang Mai food is not as hot as Issan or Phuket, but I think this food has been cooled down for the tourists. The breakfast is nice and the folks that work the breakfast are kind. But the dinners are sort of bland. On one occasion, my pad thai goong had only 2 shrimp. I didn't have to pay for it, but? Yes, you can go down to the river and see the elephants and that is great, but beware if you rent a room down that way, you're going to hear the PA announcements for the elephant show and the construction that is going on down there. They call it an elephant sanctuary, but it looks more like an elephant riding business, you decide.

- Stephen (8/5): Very good - but a few significant shortcomings too - Stayed 4 nights. Major pros = nice location; good breakfast buffet spread; swimming pools; good wifi. Major cons = restaurant is very expensive & the Western food is NOT good; TV channels are NOT what’s in the hotel write-up (there are 20 channels, mostly Thai) & no DVD player. We've lived in Thailand for 10 years - we know hotels in the area, prices, etc. This hotel is one of the best for location, ambience. Thai food in the restaurant is OK (but nothing special when comparing with restaurants in Chiang Mai), but western food is terrible......we had salmon on our first night (450 baht) and it didn't taste fresh. The menu said it came with fries, but they served it with packet-mix mashed potatoes - and no explanation or apology for no fries. The salad (220 baht) was pathetic & uninspiring. The next night we ordered Hawaiian pizza - it was a store-bought frozen pizza heated up - terrible. After that, we only ordered Thai food. Would we come again or recommend it - definitely…..just readjust your expectations for dinner.....or go off-site. Breakfast spread was very good - including good quality muesli. Swimming pools are very good - including a small semi-private pool which our room shared with 3 others (we'd booked the cheapest rooms). One other small gripe - we arrived at midday; but even by 2pm (normal check-in time) our room wasn't ready. Finally one good point - wifi signal was strong - I streamed a live Formula 1 race in our room with no interruptions.

- Alexandre (4/5): Restauration inacceptable - Nous avions pris une première nuit du 19 au 20 décembre et une autre était prévue, après balade dans la région, du 22 au 23 décembre. Au déjeuner, on nous sert un bœuf thaï surgelé et rassis pour moi, immangeable tellement la viande est dure, et une "tuna salad" qui s'avère être du thon en boîte (!) pour ma copine. Le soir, nous prenons un curry qui nous est servi en 5 minutes: il est couvert de piment (rien ne l'indique sur la carte, alors que c'est pourtant l'usage). On prend ma commande d'un verre de vin rouge, puis on m'annonce ensuite qu'il n'y a plus de vin, alors que nous voyons une bouteille sur une autre table! Conclusion: ils ne veulent pas ouvrir une bouteille pour un seul verre! Le soir même, nous sommes malades, ma copine et moi, exactement en même temps. Ma copine reste malade plusieurs jours avec tous les inconvénients d'un voyage itinérant. Le petit déjeuner ne vaut pas mieux: jus de fruits de synthèse, produits surgelés, indignes d'un hôtel soi-disant de ce niveau (170 euros la nuit, ce qui est une fortune dans ce pays)! Le seul hôtel de tout notre voyage où le personnel semble désabusé et peu motivé par son travail. Son isolement fait qu'on ne peut manger nulle part ailleurs. Nous décidons alors de renoncer à notre seconde nuit bien que je l'ai déjà payée en avance. J'ai l'intention de demander le remboursement de cette nuit qui m'a obligé, en plus, à payer une chambre supplémentaire dans un autre établissement.

- Chi Sum (10/5): elephant hotel, interesting experience - Hotel is far from the city, but it is worth staying for couple days as outside the villa, i can see elephant walking and feed them. The staff are polite. The villa is beautiful and comfortable.
- christina (10/5): Missing it already - Although the hotel was about an hour to an hour and a half away from town and other activities, and they do not arrange transport, the breathtaking views and very caring staff made it all worth while. Hotel Grounds were unbelievable, breakfast and pool area fantastic, and its location is right next to the elephant camp and long neck village. I will definitely be going back there and no where else.
- Fdoggg (10/5): Great villas, good location in North Chiang Mai - We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and highly recommend it. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time there. We stayed at Sibsan for the final 3 days of our honeymoon, since we wanted to be in the area to visit elephant santuaries / parks (there are quite a few in the area). The villa we stayed in was wonderful - spacious, clean, comfortable bed, nice decor. The hotel property itself is amazingly quiet and peaceful. The decor, overall layout (i.e., privacy each villa has), the garden and landscaping are all beautifully done. We enjoyed swims in the pool, which is located in the middle of the villages with a lovely garden surrounding it - just gorgeous, not to mention just a few steps from our private porch. The reception / staff is helpful and responsive (golf cart to drive you around from point A to point B anytime you request it). Even though 60%+ of the villas were booked you didn't feel that the resort was crowded at all, in fact it felt pretty quiet and private and one afternoon we had the large pool down below to ourselves. The cafe onsite has the most lovely view, on our last day we watched elephants from the camp next door give tourists rides up and down the river. The restaurant served up some solid Thai curries (although their non-alcoholic drink menu and breakfast buffet could be a bit better - not bad overall but we found other hotels in thailand were better). The property is amazing and was perfect for our romantic getaway.
- Hitesh S (6/5): Nice hotel, good location - Beautiful hotel in a remote location ideal for elephant camps nearby, rafting and jungle trecks. Service at the hotel was generally poor. Breakfast choice was ok and staff were attentive, however, at lunch and dinner service wasn't good. There were plenty of staff around at lunch and dinner, they just weren't tuned into guest needs. Food choice and quality were ok. Our room had not been cleaned properly as a number of items from previous occupants were in the bathroom and drawers (disgusting) so we were upgraded to a suite after complaining. Take plenty to read as there is nothing to do in the evening and tv channels are aimed at local, Japanese and Chinese guests. The wifi was slow most times when it worked.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful North Thailand Retreat - We were in Thailand for 3 weeks and Rawee Wawee was our favourite resort. We had an Executive suite right at pool side. The accommodations included a large livingroom, separate bedroom and spa bathroom. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We did use the spa and had a couple of treatments and they were the best I have had. The restaurant served good food - not gourmet dining but quite adequate and service was good. We actually left an item in our room and the hotel emailed us so we were able to pick it up. I would definitely stay here again as it is a good base to do sight seeing in the surrounding area.
