Guest Reviews
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent stop-over in Northumberland. Would go back. - Large and comfortable room with a sofa to chill out on. Tea-making facilities and a good shower. The pub is lovely and cosy. The breakfast was excellent and the Craster kippers the best I’ve ever had. Nothing.
- Pauline (9/5): Cracking Craster Arms - Staff were so welcoming and friendly. The room was smashing with a fabulous sitting area and the bath was amazing!
- Robert Percival (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - Great Parking
Lovely outside are
Great food
Nice environment
Comfortable bed Room one felt a little dampish
But it is half below ground and it is early in the season. A little warm weather will be an improvement
- Diane (10/5): Short break Location and Accommodation can’t be faulted it’s our second stay and will definitely be back - It’s a lovely comfortable clean Inn with exceptional food and the staff are friendly an welcoming Nothing whatsoever
- Debbie (10/5): Loved it 😍 - The location was excellent, the rooms very spacious and comfortable.
The beer garden with the summer houses is stunning.
Meal was delicious. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long time, all the ingredients were top notch.
We’ll be back for sure. It was it was a little tricky getting in the shower, as the it is over the bath and the bath is quite high. The TV was poor signal, only BBC channels. And rooms could just do with a little tidy up with a coat of paint.
- Maureen (8/5): - Great staff! Beautiful location. Also, the garden area with the live band was a bonus The room could do with an update as it's slightly tired. Also, there was a damp smell
- ANNE (5/5): Not worth the money - Brilliant location and busy lively feel with lovely staff Was in family room . There was small TV on wall in lounge to watch from bed . Too far away. There was no decor in room, no pics, no atmosphere. Sash window was filthy on top when we tried to open it. Sofa beds just awful, very uncomfortable.
- colin (8/5): - Location was good and it was separate from pub. Beer garden and parking were good. Felt in the way if we weren't eating. Food and breakfast was expensive. The public area stunk of dogs which we had to endure watching TV.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great place to stay - Did not have breakfast Lovely spacious quiet room Great location and friendly staff Nothing all perfect
- Diana (9/5): The staff, facilities and food made for a very happy stay in a great location. - Lovely spacious bedroom. Very comfy bed. Staff were all excellent; friendly, helpful and professional. Great food and atmosphere in the pub
- Jill (10/5): -
- Brian (9/5): - Friendly service, excellent food and comfortable room Very crowded on bank holiday weekend
- Ciara (10/5): -
- Jan Jones (10/5): Highly recommended. Very efficient team of staff covering every part of the hotel. Thank you. - Superb service. Food was excellent. Would have been nice to have a dog bed, bowls etc on arrival.
Our room needed a lick of paint. Appeared to be roof leak stains.
- julia (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Perfect location.
Accommodation was comfortable, spacious , and clean.
Warm and friendly atmosphere. We were happy with everything
- Pauline (8/5): -
- Julie (7/5): 3 night stay with breakfast at Craster Arms - It had a large outdoor beer garden with plenty of tables and areas to sit.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Loads of parking at the back of the pub.
We had our evening meal one night there the food was good with very large potions.
Our stay also included breakfast, not much juice for continental but alot of choices for a cooked breakfast.
Good location to walk or drive to local places like Bambrough, Seahouse and Alnwick. There's not a lot in the village its self but manged to eat in a different place every night over our 3 days.
Enjoyed the pub quiz on Wednesday night.3 My husband would have liked a caffertaire in the morning for breakfast rather than from a machine, but hes a coffee coniser.
- Ana (8/5): - Big room, big comfortable bed, dressing gowns provided, friendly staff
- Ernest (10/5): Fabulous. Staff, comfort and food. - Breakfast was excellent. Hot and very tasty. All staff were very friendly, nothing was a bother to them. We will certainly be back. Nothing
- Natalie (5/5): -

- Russell (10/5): Fab stay again, will be returning - Location, friendly staff, clean room
Good breakfast, great food.
Fantastic pub and amazing beer garden The shower in the room was underpowered (usual electric shower downside) but didn’t spoil the stay
- Andrew (7/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Did the job and worth the price 8/10. I would stay here again. - Great location. Ok facilities, nice atmosphere and great beer garden when the sun is shining! Check in was confusing as we didn't know we had to go to the bar to check in after no one answered the bell to the rooms entrance. Barman told us we didn't need to reserve for breakfast, the next morning the lady looking after breakfast looked flustered after she said no one told her we were coming and then she had to prep the table. Rooms could certainly do with a lick of paint and bathroom could do with some new mastic.
- louise (10/5): Ideal location, great friendly lively bar with great food and facilities - Amazing All amazing! Nothing not to love!
- Carole (8/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Steven (9/5): Would definitely visit again! - Friendly staff, great location, lovely food Parts of the room were a little tired and some of the bedding was unclean

- janet (9/5): We stayed here for one night could of stayed longer as it was so enjoyable 💕 - Facilities were fantastic friendly staff the food was outstanding bedroom was so cosy ❤️ Nothing
- Coning (10/5): -
- Christobel (8/5): Excellent apart from sofa bed issue - Breakfast was huge and very well cooked. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room spacious and spotless . Helpful information and comfortable armchairs. There was a misunderstandingregarding the bed options for the room( sofa bed more of an extendable armchair. But it was comfortable and the staff did their best to accommodate our requests.
- Haslam (6/5): - It was near to wedding we were going to Shower wasn’t very good, carpet was dirty
- julia (10/5): Friendly and welcoming inn with rooms - Perfect location and lovely warm welcoming atmosphere.
Clean , spacious , and comfortable rooms and beds.
A perfect place to bring young children and large groups.
Great food at a reasonable price.
Lovely breakfast and staff really went the extra mile , especially with the children. There was nothing not to like
- Kate (6/5): Nice location, pleasant hotel, but room was above the kitchen extractor - The hotel is in a convenient location, attached to a large pub who also do food and have a good pub garden. The room was large, with a decent sized bed, tea making facilities and a warm shower. It's overall a little tired, but a perfectly comfortable stay for a couple of nights. The room smelt a little musty on arrival, so we opened the window. However, the room was situated right above the extractor for the kitchen, which runs from around 0800 until around 2100. This meant it was very loud with the window open and you could smell cooking smells. There were also no sockets near to the mirror, meaning I struggled to dry my hair.
- Lauren (7/5): - Easy check in! We were visiting for a wedding and needed someone to get dressed after a 2 hour drive.
Our room wasn’t quite ready when we arrived but another was provided while we got dressed and once our room was ready, our bags were transferred over.
The wedding venue was a 10 min drive but we struggled getting a taxi so the lovely lady cleaning dropped us off, which we really appreciated! The rooms are super basic and the tv in our room wasn’t working so I’m not sure it was worth £120!
We didn’t opt for breakfast as this was going to be another £15pp and the facilities definitely weren’t that of a £150 stay.
If you like plump pillows…take your own as the ones there are super thin.
- Lorraine (8/5): -
- Helen (7/5): Great location , bed comfortable , breakfast huge and delish , Sunday lunch was disappointing - Lovely staff very attentive Not much
- Jonathan (9/5): -
- Edwards (8/5): -
- Graeme (9/5): Excellent and good value for money - Spacious room
Excellent food
Superb breakfast
Very dog friendly Fixed shower head no wand
- David (10/5): - Fantastic location in beautiful Beadnell, had a great night's sleep on a good bed, breakfast was great and the staff were so nice, dog friendly too! Will definitely be back!
- Caroline (9/5): Brilliant - will return - Excellent staff, bar and both breakfast and dinner excellent Needed a lick of paint. Scuffed skirts and walls
- Neil (7/5): Not value for money in my opinion. - The location was excellent, the food was very good and the rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The rooms were noisy. Creaking floorboards overhead and noisy traffic late at night and early morning.
- Hartley (10/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Great suite, lounge bedroom and bathroom, very spacious, comfortable bed with great sleep, staff just lovely. - Everything, from comfort spacious room, quiet location and lovely staff. Nothing, lived up to our expectations.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Simon (9/5): -
- Steven (10/5): Great place to stay in Northumberland. - Greta location. Room was very nice. Friendly staff and great food. Nothing
- peter (6/5): -
- Clout (8/5): - The Craster Inn was in a great location for our trip and as they also own the Landing in the village the food was great in both places, the staff were all friendly and accommodating, would definitely stay again. Nothing really to highlight on the downside.
- sarah (10/5): -
- Jim Thomson (9/5): I actually loved this place - Extremely dog friendly, nice little cozy suite, comfortable bed, friendly staff, superb breakfast, no additional pet costs, great pub with log burning fire, decent restaurant menu with huge portions, car parking street or in their back car park. Stairs to accommodation ... not too steep and better than most coaching inns - that's not a criticism, just something to be aware of if you're disabled
- Karen (9/5): -
- Scott (10/5): -
- sharon (8/5): - Good location. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Although dog friendly accommodation there wasn't immediate outdoor access. Shower wasn't very powerful.
- Hedy (9/5): Super -
- Allan (9/5): - The food was excellent The room was a bit tired in places, nothing a quick lick of paint couldn't sort
- Maurice (5/5): Not as expected and not value for money - The breakfast was good but I did not like the sausage The car park should be resurfaced full of holes and puddles
- Philip (6/5): Disappointing - Large room in good location. It was probably a very nice room when newly decorated but it was tired and in need of redecoration - not as seen on website, as the things that made it attractive (cushions etc) were missing. Walls grubby and scuffed, carpet stained. Specifically booked to have a seating area for evenings on a winter break, but chairs (very heavy) arranged so to hard to see tv which was very high on wall.
Struggled to access hotel on arrival as no reception arrangements and door locked. Had to phone - eventually let in but not very welcoming - didn’t see staff after that. Very little information in room. It’s not really a hotel, more a pub/restaurant with rooms. There’s no access to bar/restaurant from the rooms without going outside.
The room is described as ‘lower floor’ but it’s not made clear that it can only be accessed by going up, and then down, some stairs, and also that there are two steps up to the bathroom, which could be an issue for some people.
- Michelle (8/5): had a really good trip - Spacious room, really friendly staff.
Good food, nice breakfast better bread..... very basic white / brown sliced at breakfast!
Shower over the bath - not a fan
Rooms were a little warm

- Diane (10/5): Lovely winter break excellent food, room and service - Lovely location in Beadnell and walking distance to a beautiful beach. It is a lovely comfortable pub with excellent clean comfortable rooms, but the food is exceptional, good quality ingredients cooked by a first class chef but turn up hungry because there is no compromise on portion size including breakfast the full vegetarian was the best we have had . Everything staff member we met were warm and friendly just perfect. Absolutely nothing
- Raymond (7/5): -
- Margaret (9/5): Excellent! - I just stayed one night as I was at a wedding. Everything went smoothly and the room was great.
- Kate (10/5): - Beautiful location, lovely hotel food portions large at hotel, and breakfast delicious
- Christine (9/5): -
- Lesley (6/5): -
- Alan (8/5): -
- Rutherford (9/5): - Great location. Great atmosphere in pub. Very very comfortable bed.
- jan (10/5): Nice rooms & great food - Lovely big room with seating area. Located to the side of the pub that has a great range of bar drinks and fantastic food menu, generous portions and excellent quality.
The staff are all amazing.
They also have the Landings, a fabulous cafe bar on the dunes at Beadnell Bay, about a 15 minute walk from the Craster Arms and the Black Swan in Seahouses a renowned gastro pub.
We had meals af both of these too and the quality and choice is consistent at all three.
Can highly recommend. Nothing, everything good.
- Christine (9/5): Lovely break for a family birthday. A real buzz in the bar, friendly staff & breakfast was great. - Very good breakfast with great service!
- Bob (8/5): Disappointed on New Year’s Eve - Location, staff and food were excellent Disappointed that we could not access bar or restaurant after 8pm. Surely when putting on an event a small part of the bar could have been partitioned off for residents who were not going to event
Our room was a little cold, we needed an extra heater
The shower door did not close properly
First day, January 1st, Room not properly cleaned, hand towels not changed, glasses not washed
