- Vivienne (10/5): Utterly charming and highly recommended - Full of charm with great attention to detail in the room facilities. The bed was extremely comfortable and I loved the selection of teas, fresh coffee, drinking chocolate & quality biscuits, all beautifully presented. The mini fridge with water bottle and a small flask of fresh milk was also a delight. The staff were absolutely lovely.
- TINA (8/5): Enjoyable stay in traditional village pub. - Lovely old pub with pretty garden located in village centre. Good parking at rear. Welcome great. Room spotless and good facilities. Our evening meal was well prepared. Menu choice is good, and we enjoyed our choices. Breakfast spot on. Freshly prepared hot breakfast with cold selection buffet. Evening staff seemed inexperienced- willing but could do with a bit more training in customer service such as asking if wanting further drinks, how was meal etc. Slow service. Often busy chatting to each other when the pub was busy. Didn't appear to be anyone leading the team in the evening. This was just an observation and didn't spoil our dinner. Our room was lovely, but do expect noise right over the bar area if staying in room 1 and if warm having the windows open definitely would increases this as at rear near to garden. But also could hear the room next door quite clearly. Wifi poor get dropping out.

Wifi kept dropping out , no fridge in room to keep milk and woken at 6am by fellow guests who decided to have a loud conversation with their door open

- Vivien (9/5): Lovely…we’ll be back! - Lovely country pub situated in the small but lovely village of Stockbridge. The spacious bar and restaurant with a real fire was warm and welcoming. The rooms were very nice, very well furnished and serviced, very clean and comfortable too. We had a ground floor room with dogs allowed but no evidence of dogs having been there… we brought ours with us. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was very good and with generous portions, the same with breakfast, thoroughly recommended on all counts. Absolutely nothing!

- Emma-Louise (5/5): Overall pleasant but had some negatives sadly - Lovely location and lovely pub, really friendly management and lovely breakfast. Staff were very friendly and approachable, really great food. Unfortunately I requested for my room to be cleaned twice during my stay and it didn't happen either time. I also asked for my tea caddy to be refilled and my bins emptied (I stayed for 5 nights) and again this didn't happen so I ran ut of tea/sugar/cups! I would say that the property is loud (as expected as directly above the bar/restaurant). Music on until 10pm and slamming doors until 12pm every night unfortunately. Not a problem for me personally as I was staying up late working but worthwhile mentioning for annyone that likes an early night.

Could not fault the room at all. Needed to use ear plugs due to noise from the pub, however this is a pub so noise is to be expected. Strong oily/cooking smell throughout the common areas of the accommodation was a bit off putting but was not strong in the room itself.

The hotel was full of character, the staff lovely and the little extras in the bedroom were most appreciated. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was cold. We were unable to turn on the radiators in the bedroom.

- John (8/5): - One aspect that slightly detracted my full enjoyment was that the outside access to my room was narrowed by the growth of shrubs and plants and hanging baskets to the extent that if it had been raining brushing past these plants meant clothes getting a bit wet. The flowers, plants and shrubs were much appreciated and good but a little trimming to give wider access to those outside rooms would be welcome. Only a small negative and hopefully positive………

Lovely location with fabulous garden, comfortable room, imaginative touches and supremely dog-friendly. Super dinner and breakfast too. Nothing.
