Guest Reviews
- Nicholas (6/5): - Room was large. Bed was comfy and bedding good. Room warm. Shower good.
Stair carpet was very dirty. Shower needed mould spray.
Lots of noise from the street early in the morning, not the hotels fault.
Toilet constantly running during the night and emergency light on all night. I’m a light sleeper so this was a problem for me.
I left before breakfast and the sandwich left in place of breakfast was supposed to be ham salad with mustard but it was just two slices of processed ham.
Staff were great.
Outside the pub/hotel was really grotty. Needs a Damb good clean up.
- Sanjay (10/5): - Fabulous pub, drinks selection, room and bathroom.
Welcome was friendly and so professional.
The breakfast was just perfection and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
- Michelle (10/5): - The welcome I received when I entered was excellent - the lady helped me with my bags to my room. She explained everything to me. The room was clean, homely and great facilities - I will definitely be back thank you

- Robert (10/5): - Great place to stay, central to a lot of places we want to see. We will be staying there when we return next year.
- Melissa (10/5): A great little getaway for a lone adventure! - Thank you so much to Alex and Sav from mum who just needed a short break alone. Great location and parking was easy and convenient.
Exceptional breakfast menu - the bacon and sausage cob was lovely and a prefect start to my morning. I also have to give a shout out to the gorgeous apple crumble and custard, it was perfect and made my first evening.
Being able to eat in my room to get that space from life with audiobooks and Netflix was perfect.
Would love to stay again.
- Graham (8/5): - Pleasant old place in the middle of the village
- Helen (10/5): - As always: welcoming. Clean and comfortable stay. 😃😃
- Helen (10/5): - As always v clean. Efficient and welcoming. The breakfast: brilliant
- Paul (8/5): - The toilet area attached to the left side of the room seems completely unique, I disliked some disturbances by a load of drunkards but saying that my room afterall was above a restaurant & bar which is eventually gonna get some people drunk an it's those that caused the said disturbances it eventually quieted down again.
- Sue (6/5): - Bed very low, not hot water in basin, shower was ok
- Julian (10/5): A lovely pub hotel with the most amazing breakfast - The Dixie is always a great place to stay. A proper pub as well as a lovely hotel. Great breakfast with the option of a takeaway one if you’re going to off early. Comfy room, great shower. No complaints at all!
- Paul (10/5): - Slept well. Free car parking. Good breakfast. Sunday lunch was excellent. Friendly staff made for good experience. Three real ales in excellent condition.
- Karen (10/5): - The staff were really friendly. Breakfast was spot on. I really liked that we could use the car park even after we'd checked out. Great value for money, we'll stay here again.
- Natalie (10/5): 1 night stay over for wedding - Room 6 was beautifully decorated, toiletries supplied, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water all in the room.
Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely breakfast-would return thank you
- Rod (8/5): Goid sleep - Comfortable and central
- Jacqui (10/5): - N/a
- Neal (2/5): Stay somewhere else if you can - The room was basic, the shower was terrible and needs replacing as best it was only lukewarm. The barman was rude and condescending, I certainly wouldn’t recommend staying here.
- Anne (10/5): A good place to stay - Ver comfortable one night stay with friends. Lovely location with its' own car park. Lovely breakfast which you select the night before. I would definitely stay hete again.
- Julie (10/5): - Alex and Sav were great hosts. They are a lovely friendly couple who made us feel so welcome. Their hospitality was second to none!
- Helen (10/5): Brilliant - As always, welcoming on all fronts, immaculate room, brill bar and lovely breakfast
- Michael (4/5): - Staff and food were good, the room was run down and needs refreshing. The two single beds in the room were so low down it was like sleeping on a mattress on the floor. As my room was above the pub it was a little noisy until 11.30pm. The next morning it was noisy again from about 5.30am with cars stopping at the front of the hotel bang their car doors as they were visiting a shop two doors down. I used this hotel as I wanted to be close by to the office and get an early start, unfortunately breakfast didn’t start until 8am and with being awake from 5.30am decided to give breakfast a miss. Would I stay here again probably not, but on a personal note the staff couldn’t have been any friendlier
- brian (6/5): - A good place to stay
- David (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent stay, food was very good.
Only let down was the stairs to the rooms could have been cleaned.
- Robert (10/5): - Very welcoming special mention to Alex and savage
- Kris (10/5): Great stay - Great stay at a great price with a large good standard of breakfast, I have recommended to colleagues when visiting the area.
- Rod (10/5): All you need - Friendly and comfortable lovely local bar
- Anna (10/5): - Very polite staff, lovely room comfortable bed and breakfast was very nice 👌
- Sian (10/5): Great stay - The Dixie Arms was selected for the night due to its proximity to a wedding we were attending. We struck lucky. We were given early access to our rooms for changing for the wedding. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable with a good sized en-suite. The only negative comment would be road noise but this did not stop us from sleeping! Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful and our breakfast was exellent.
- Bob (10/5): - Staff were friendly and quick to serve. Had one complaint which was sorted out the next day. All in all an enjoyable stay and if im in the area again I'll be booking into the Dixie Arms.
- Helen (10/5): As always - As always: friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable room with everything you need
- Martin (6/5): - On check in not overly friendly staff member stairway to room very tatty and underwhelming room lovely and big,bed great bathroom not very clean dirty toilet as in poo round sides long black hair on the floor no shelves in shower husband nearly fell bending down for shower gel. Breakfast ok apart from underdone poached eggs(ie:- snotty) weird also to have lettuce under hot toast, tea and coffee ok. Overall needs a lot of TLC . Sorry but won't be coming back, shame as the b/fast lady was lovely.
- sarah (8/5): Nice old hotel just lacking a few things - The Place has character for sure but the rooms let it down.
The beds are very low to the floor and not comfy along with pillows they did swop rooms but not much better and was here for two nights.room was clean and all worked ok , TV , kettle, shower
Staff lovely
Breakfast amazing along with the Italian food
Re did have refund on one night as plates were cold and food not hot but manager was lovely .
Will be back .
But I would say plates do need to be hit to keep food warm and maybe invest in higher comfy beds and better pillows
Ran our on pub for years it's the little things.
We are battle Reenactment group and come up regularly and like to stop along with others another time .
- PAT (8/5): - god friendly accommodation
- Ian (10/5): - Friendly staff, good food, comfy bed and safe secure parking
- Edward (10/5): - Great host
Good night sleep
- Helen (10/5): - Friendly. Comfort and lovely breakfast
- David (8/5): - Nice traditional pub. Needs a little TLC and upgrade but overall ok. Comfortable bed good breakfast nice service
- Stephen (8/5): - Nice little town pub with comfortable rooms and friendly staff
- Victoria (10/5): - We had a lovely stay at the Dixie Arms. From the first welcome to the last goodbye. We stayed in the Deluxe ensuite room and it was very comfortable with lots of storage space and a comfy bed. We spent some time in mArket Bosworth itself and then returned to the Dixie, which has become our favourite pub in MB.
The breakfast in the morning was perfect. Alex and Sav and their staff were friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a great stay, we would definitely recommend.
- Gareth (10/5): Best by far - The hotel is under priced for the luxury comfort and hospitality
- Sam (10/5): - What a great place! The landlady Alex was so friendly and welcoming, made us feel right at home. Excellent value, clean and inviting! Thankyou very much!
- Helen (10/5): Brill place - V clean, comfortable and welcoming. Gorgeous breakfast too. 😃😃
- Ian (8/5): - Great value for money as the stay included breakfast, used as a stop off before going to the NEC which was only 40 min away
- Mark (8/5): - Generally a good facility with really friendly, helpful staff. Based purely on price this outperforms many more hotels in major cities - friendly, helpful and nothing a problem, not always the case in chain hotels!!
- Ross (10/5): - The staff were all very welcoming and genuine.
Myself and my son had ridden 150miles to visit RTTW nearby and were looking forward to our rest that evening.
The food was excellent, the facilities great and the staff we met, which included the owner, bar staff, chef and a 'man of all trades' were all lovely. Would stay again.
- Sharon (10/5): Amazing hotel - The Dixie Arms is a little gem of a place. Alex and Savage were wonderful hosts. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced with good sized portions. The breakfast was lovely and cooked fresh to order. It was also great to have a decent sausage instead of one of those awful catering sausages. Will definately stay again in the future.
- Karen (10/5): Football away day - The service was excellent, very friendly and you feel very welcome. Food at also good and breakfast great.
- Michael (10/5): What a little gem - Excellent service from the bar staff when checking in, very polite and friendly. Explained about dinner and breakfast arrangements clearly and concisely. Room was very spacious and the bed, although quote low, was extremely comfortable. The breakfast service was brilliant, pastry's warm, orange juice on the table and coffee served very quickly. Unfortunately I couldn't eat all the full English as well as the pastries, but the bacon, sausage and scrambled egg were all very good indeed. I really cant find anything to be negative about here, the location is great just by the village square, walking distance to the chippy and chinese. I will 100% be rebooking for my next visit up this way. Excellent experience at an outstanding price
- S (8/5): Stayed 1 night while racing at Mallory Park . - A real pub with atmosphere in the town with good parking . Being an old building dating back to the 15th century it is obviously not modern but the staff were brilliant and the breakfast well above average ! Excellent for the price . Would definitely stay here again .
- Hazel (10/5): - Great pub, very helpful and friendly staff.
- gillian (6/5): - sadly I can not give a 5 star review, the hosts were lovely,
the breakfast excellent, our room however was a complete let down, the furniture I assume was shabby chic, the bed linen clean, the beds had no legs, and it was quite difficult to get out of bed, anyone with mobility issues would have really found it difficult
The worst part of the room was the bathroom, the shower was dirty, thick grime on the shower hose, the soap holder was dirty, I can only assume this room had not been used in a long time, a room/bathroom being dated is fine, but I do expect it to be clean and it wasn't
I would return but definitely not to room 2
- Helen (10/5): Wonderful - A wonderfully friendly staff. Clean up to date rooms. Tasty freshly cooked breakfast. Fully recommend
- Roderick (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff at this hotel. The bar in the hotel has a great atmosphere.
- Doreen (10/5): Enjoyable stay. - Stay was fine. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Dixie arms weekend stay - Hotel was ok. Condition of the room was good and very clean. The bed was quite hard and not comfortable so I did not get the best of night's sleep, also a function was on the 2nd night which had loud music, putting salt into the wound on this situation was playing Eurythmics sweet dreams... Breakfast was good, large portions
too. Parking was a hit and miss affair, 1st night I was able to get parked but the 2nd night had to park on the street and move the car into the car park later on.
- Peter (8/5): Handy stopover with clean and comfortable amenitie - Handy stopover for delivering vehicles to nearby storage area. Have stayed before and found staff just as helpful and friendly as before. Comfortable bed and clean room. Had to leave early before breakfast was served but was given a packed lunch - nice thoughtful touch!
Parking can be tight but there is a public car park behind the hotel, which is free overnight between 6pm and 8am.
Will definitely use again when in the area.
- Stephen (10/5): A Great place to stay with spacious rooms - I have stayed here a few times. The bar food is great and The restraunt also. With a good range of Beers in a rustic pub surrounds.Their rooms are spacious and Beds comfortable. The breakfast which is included in the room price is really good full English. The smoked salmon option is also a great choice
- Helen (10/5): Woohoo - Wonderfully welcoming and helpful staff. Extremely spacious and comfortable room. Tasty breakfast made to order. Thank you
- Spencer (8/5): - Very helpfully with very warming atmosphere
- Bill (10/5): The best hotel by far in Market Bosworth - I'll start by saying what a fabulous hotel. Several of our family members stayed at the Dixie Arms in Market Bosworth on Saturday 1st July. I've never known such a warm welcome as that from the owner Alex, she is the perfect host. The room we had was immaculate with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on in a hotel. The bar area is warm and inviting, Alex and her husband Sav make you feel so welcome. The breakfast was first class, way better than you would get in a hotel at one of the big chain hotels. Alex and Sav go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. If you're looking for a hotel in Market Bosworth look no further than the Dixie Arms, we'll definitely be staying there the next time we're in Market Bosworth. 5 stars all round for everything: Hospitality, food, quality of the rooms, everything. It's also situated right in the middle of the town with it's own private parking spaces.
- Jeffrey Ian (10/5): - It was quaint and comfortable. The price was acceptable for the facilities provided. Lovely friendly staff.
- Kristian (10/5): Friendly, Great Value and Terrific Breakfast - What a great friendly place to stay and as others have commented, a great breakfast too. I'm sure the price i paid must've been a mis-print, lol. Great value. I'd happily stay here again.
- Tom (10/5): - Room was dated but spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable, had 2 good nights sleep. Good in restaurant was lovely as was breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful, could not fault. I would stay there again
- Gareth (10/5): Great value and very friendly hosts. - Stayed at The Dixie Arms as I was attending a wedding at the nearby Bosworth Hall. Was made to feel very welcome by the staff who were great hosts, the room was clean, comfortable and of a good standard.
Breakfast was very tasty and the stay was of excellent value for money.
Would definitely recommend.
- Phil (8/5): A good convenient hotel. - The hotel is situated in a beautiful village. Convenient on site parking. The rooms are a little tired and would benefit from some cosmetic upgrade. Having said this I would stay again. Good value.
- Peter (8/5): - Supplying an anti-slip shower mat as standard is the only improvement I would suggest. Otherwise, the pub was perfect.
- NEIL (10/5): - lovely old property, rooms clean and spacious and well presented, friendly welcoming staff and an awesome breakfast to start the day off!
Wouldnt hesitate to stay here again
- Barry (10/5): - Staff are really helpful
- Roderick (10/5): - Really enjoyed our, albeit too brief, stay at the Dixie. Full of old fashioned charm and good service. Restaurant food also very good, both the evening Italian meal, and breakfast. Food allergies needs were fully taken care of too.
Market Bosworth is a fascinating little place with a lot more too it than the size suggests. Surrounded more much unspoilt countryside - the area looks well worth exploring.
I would book again.
If you want sleek modern then this is not for you, but this has atmosphere, AND a very comfortable bed, and a good shower.
NOTE - I parked in the Market Square (free) which is within 80m or so, although they have a camera controlled car-park to the rear, for which you need to register for on arrival.
- Tracy (10/5): - Lovely food.lovely staff and a lovely old building
- Stephen (10/5): - My stay was great with nice mealsin the bar
