The rooms are big, decently decorated and furnished with everything you need. Air con worked well especially with the fan. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast had decent options and great to be included. Very convenient and lovely stay.

- christian (6/5): Överskattade beach villor - Bodde i en utav beach villorna mitt på stranden. Skulle stannat i 7 nätter men checkade ut efter 4. Fördelar: Du bor mitt på stranden och kan med några steg går ut i havet för ett morgondopp. Väldigt trevlig personal på restaurangen och god mat. Nackdelar: Du bor mitt på stranden vilket gör att andra turister kommer och sätter sig på din veranda och grupperingar samlas 2m utanför dörren, så ingen privacy . Ingen säkerhet från hotellets sida, fick våra handdukar stulna andra natten. Rummet är väldigt slitet och hade behövt renovering.

- 321manii (8/5): THE BEST SPOT ON HAADRIN BEACH @KOH PHANANG - The location of the resort was perfect. Right in the center of the HAADRIN BEACH. Convenient when ur going to FULL MOON PARTY.. The staff were execellent especially MO who took care of our requirements. We had taken the beach villa which was neat and clean and had the best view of the beach. Negatives - they need to work on the water pressure in the shower, stronger water heater, shelfs in the built in cupboard. Build a stronger and efficient firewall on their online booking with BOOKING.COM, there was fradaulent transaction on my credit card.
- Raden_Jals (8/5): Huge happening right on Haad Rin Beach - Lovely resort, nice rooms, helpful friendly management, nice restaurant, amazing breakfast, very conveniently located right on the Full Moon Party beach which means you dont have to pay Party entry fees and the best part is that if you take the rooms at the back, the music from the beach party does not disturb. The only downside at this resort was the cleaning ladies who did a bad job. One swept all the dust and sand from the room onto our shoes outside and on the ground leaving a mess and the other one threw out the tea I was making into the bathroom sink. One day is a mistake, but two days running? Looks like too much onscreen time messes with the brains. Complained to management who came and stood outside the room the next day during the cleaning. That day the ladies did a good job. Its the only resort we lived at that had terrible cleaning staff. Also no telephone/intercom so had to walk down to the reception every time. Otherwise the resort rooms location and management were awesome.

- Leedsaway67 (4/5): First bad experience in Thailand! - We were having a long walk on the beach & decided to pop in here for a beer. Ordered two Singa’s , one large & one small. The large one wasn’t cold, they had opened it & refused to change it, despite my complaints. Ended up leaving most of it & walked out. Dump!
- dougsil2n (2/5): They canceled my room reservations for New Year's a month before arriving!!!!! - Sunrise Resort cancelled my reservations for New Year's Eve / Full Moon Party!!!! I reserved three rooms months ago and got an amazing rate of $25/room - my friends and I were all set to go. Sunrise canceled my rooms that I booked via Agoda and are giving the reason that they are "renovating rooms" so they can't have us stay there. Which is total bull$@#$ - they're now fully booked with rooms that they are charging 5x more for. And they've canceled on me a month before New Year's Eve on Koh Phangan ... so now it's impossible to stay in Haad Rin for the Full Moon New Year's Eve. What a horrible experience with their reservations team. Shame on you guys.
- Entropy_RNG (2/5): Baby happy hours cocktails - They advertise buy one get one cocktailse during happy hours...when we got hours they were in glasses containing around 1/3 of the normal cocktail volume. We mentioned this to the staff, they told us they don't have big glasses, they serve them only outside happy hours. Avoid.
- Farida (6/5): Prestations de services à revoir - En arrivant nous avons dû patientez jusqu’à 15h pour récupérer la chambre, leur raison, ils ont été dépassés par les événements de la veille à savoir la full moon, nous comprenons tout à fait mais le réceptionniste n’a présenté ni gêne, ni excuse. Dans notre chambre ni serviettes de bain, des bouteilles sous le lit, des cheveux sur le pommeau de douche. Celle-ci ( maison front de mer ) était tout de même superbe. Nous avions les petits déjeuner d’inclus, le lendemain nous avons dû aller réclamer les tickets à l’accueil, limite on ne voulait pas nous les donner, petits déjeuner très moyen et pourtant nous ne sommes vraiment pas compliqués, très peu de choix, si vous souhaitez un seul ingrédient de plus ( du fromage dans l’omelette par exemple ) la serveuse vous dit YOU PAY. Nous sommes des amoureux de la Thaïlande ) 8eme voyages ) et nous avons jamais vu un Personnel nonchalant, pas professionnels, pas souriants. En bref, je ne recommande pas du tout cet hôtel.
- EROB1997 (6/5): Nice stay - Could not fault the location or the staff here. The location is literally right on the beach and perfect walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. The staff were so lovely and helpful too. The room was nice, clean but the aircon wasn’t great (fine if on for a while). The toilet water and shower was often brown too but I don’t think this could really be helped. Our room also got cleaned which we appreciate but when we came back the door was just left open, as well as the balcony door on the ground floor. Everything was ok but anyone could have walked in to all our things. The hotel restaurant was really good!

- Mr_Dhawan (10/5): Wow, best part of the beach - This hotel is in fantastic location. 7/11 next door, Indian restaurants nearby and good food and booze at hotel as well. It is a bit aged property but serves the purpose well as it son the best part of the beach. Staff were always smiling and helpful and took good care of us. It was the owner that came running to help us with the luggage(citing that we were with infants) and later staff picked it up from him. That shows the owner's dedication to lead with an example :). We loved our stay here and will highly recommend this place. Breakfast was OK but limited vegetarian options (something we faced across koh phagnan). Avoid 1st floor rooms if you are traveling with kids as balcony won't be safe for them.

- Ionabacon (10/5): Full Moon Party - I had an amazing time at Sunrise Resort. The staffs were wonderful, the food was great. The service, the view of the beach was wonderful. The surrounding as well everything was walking distance. This is my second time coming here and alot has change and been renovated from the last time. My room was cozy and spacious and clean. The most important part of my stay was me being comfortable and safe there. Thanks to Joe (General Manager) for keeping a check on me in the mist of my stay. Oh and the Full Moon Party was lit!!!! The next time I go back there I will book a villa on beach. I highly recommend this place for anybody who will visit Koh Phangan!!! Thanks again!!!

- lucylA690VC (2/5): Violence from staff towards customers - just now on Google This resort allows a drum and bass party on at it's bar every full moon. Every time I have been to it something terrible has happened. The first time the man in charge decided to punch a girl in the head and knock her out and then she was passed out on the floor with no one doing anything to help her. All the staff just walking over her. If anything the staff seemed to think that what this man had done to this poor girl was a good thing. I find this shocking. This bar is part of the Sunrise resort and I just don't think that this type of behaviour is acceptable. It's incredibly worrying that a resort is holding a night where the management are being violent towards their customers. The second time I saw management attacking another girl accusing her of stealing when from what I could see her own belongings had been taken and she was in need of assistance herself. It really seems that the management in charge of this party are aggressive to the point of directing it at young female holiday makers. I have witnessed it twice now and find it disgusting that a holiday resort is employing people like this to hold a night in their bar. It is certainly not a resort I will ever be staying at again and I strongly recommend to stay well away from this place. Especially if you are a young woman. The rooms are overpriced and the pool is not nice either. As mentioned before the staff are horrible.

The rooms need some update n made good whatever fixtures are install. In addition the rooms rate are exorbitantly expensive for one night stay on Full Moon Party. I had to pay RM1,400.00.

We asked for the room on the upper flor and we got it. Staff's english is very poor so its hard to communicate and understand each other. The location is very good, but it can be noisy because of beach parties. Mosquiotos were also killing us.

Staff are not well presented and did not speak good English. Complimentary wifi did not even work. When taken to our room there are only stairs available. The door didn't lock and the door to the balcony did not close properly. The room wasn't very clean and was run down. We felt extremely unsafe here and ended up booking another hotel nearby! Would never stay here and definitely would not recommend even though it is close to the full moon party.
- Matthew (2/5): STAY AWAY!!! DO NOT PRE-PAY!!! - The images on the website are 10 years old at least. We booked a beachfront bungalow and when we arrived we quickly realized we were bait and switched. The front door lock was not secure, the front window had been replaced with a piece of wood. The AC was running but no cold air was coming out, it was effectively broken. No linens were provided. We did not feel safe at all and left immediately! Much nicer places next door that are actually taken care of for the same price if not cheaper. When confronted about the images on the website not being correct, their response in broken English was "The images are not right but it does not matter" pretty much sums up their attitude towards their property and guests. Hotels.com and the property would not issue a refund, we are now fighting the charge with our CC. DO NOT PRE-PAY!!! I have been to Koh Phangan 4 different times over the last 15 years. It is an amazing island with beautiful Thai people and culture, many other wonderful properties to stay at in Haad Rin and other parts of the island.
- Floridians (10/5): - If you’re looking for the perfect Full Moon party place, this hotel is perfect! Besides the fact that the hotel is located on the best side of the beach in Haad Rin, the party is at your doorsteps right on the beach with the convenience of private use of toiletries right in your room. I enjoyed being able to change and rinse off all that I needed (FYI it is hot climate!) The staff was very accommodating and friendly. There is a huge morning spread for breakfast, at the corner restaurant, that is excellent for people watching (make sure to try the egg noodle soup with pork and wontons from the ladies at the stand). There is also a Seven Eleven right across from corner restaurant that sells all your necessities water, beer, snacks. I truly recommend this resort even if you are not there for the full moon party. It is not costly and worth the money you pay for.
- LizVstev (6/5): Great location but nothing special - The location was perfect for what we visited the island for - the full moon! Right on the beach and in the heart of all the action. The rooms are very basic but liveable. When we checked in we were taken to a room on the ground floor which was not acceptable to us as we had booked a ‘superior’ room. The room was battered and the outside ‘balcony’ was like a prison courtyard with a cement wall around it. After requesting to move the person who checked us in begrudgingly moved us to a room on the second floor which was much better by comparison. WiFi only available in communal areas not in rooms. The safe in our room broke twice when we were there and engineering fixed it quickly both times. Overall for the price we paid and the location for the full moon it was ok but had it been our accommodation at any other part of our trip we would have been disappointed.

- janinem347 (6/5): 2 nights. - We spend 2 nights here. Location was good lots of restaurants and bars. Room was basic but comfortable bed. But ants all over the bathroom! Beach has a whloe different set up at night. Mats and chairs to sit out and have food and drinks. It wasnt nosey when we were there but it wasnt durning the full moon party although they did have the whole fire show etc that lasted like 2 hours which was great a couple of doors down at the cactus bar!

The mattress in the room was just fantastic. Big size bed. Excellent for a sound sleep. Noise was kept to a minimum and the man at the reception would make sure any attempt for a night pool party or loud music was kept under control.

However we paid much more here than any other hotels in Thailand so expected them to be nice but we found that the rooms weren’t very clean, the showers were terrible and the whole sink/ tap unit in our room was broken and would come off if you lent on it! We were ready to leave here after the 4 nights we had booked.

We called them up by phone to ask why? They said our booking was problems. And then we make a deal asked them to confirm our room because we wanted to stay on the villa on the beach side. Done and it was okay they confirmed. And what happens? they don't even write or booked the room for us. They lied... This was unprofessional and thumbs down... We stay elsewhere and much better than this place

- Dane (2/5): Horrible staff will try to rip you off - This hotel has the potential to be great, however the staff at the reception desk was completely rude he tried to rip us off and almost made us miss our ferry to our next destination. Strategically failed to tell us about the extra charges if there was any paint from the half moon party on the towel (even though it would wash off in the wash) and then wanted to charge us 350 baht per towel. I would highly recommend not staying here there was no one staying here when we were there and its clear to see why!!!!

- Val (10/5): Solo for the Full Moon Party! - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Sunrise Resort. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room has everything you need, had a great view of the Full Moon beach from the balcony! Overall had an awesome time, would totally recommend it!

It was a very pleasant and PERFECT stay! Beautiful beach and very relaxing place. The beach bar has very friendly staff and great food, 2 min walking distance to 7-eleven, massage places, clinic, shops, everything. Place is beautiful, but a little old and can use some love, also one bad detail at check out, we were charged for a missing water glass that was never there to begin with. Overall, very pleasant stay.
- Corrine (4/5): Wanted to love it but we’re disappointed - After previously staying at this resort we had high hopes for our return to Sunrise resort only to be really disappointed. One of the main reasons we chose to stay again was because of the pool and swim up bar. On our arrival, the pool was green to the point where the staff wouldn’t let you swim as it wasn’t safe. No apologies were given or discounts offered. After waiting 3 years to for a holiday this was a major bummer. The rooms were in fantastic condition and the cleaning was done really well. One last major annoying factor was that one of the bars on the beach about half a Klm away was so load the subwoofer shook the hotel and made it unbearable to sleep! While I can party with the best of them, after 3am if the club is empty and it’s keeping people in all the other hotels awake it’s bad for business. Fortunately the hotel moved us to another part of their complex which made our stay much better but they seemed pissed off that we asked, despite there being many empty rooms. Anyway I think it’s generally a great hotel it’s just the owners need to figure out what to do about noisy neighbours as it made us not want to go back to what is normally one of our favourite islands.

If you are going to attend to one of these parties by the beach, then this hotel is for you. If you are there to relax, dont expect a quiet time since many people hang out at balconies and chit chat. The hotel does not provide face or hair towel., when we asked face towel, the hotel staff told us to buy it from a store. The room does get cleaned whenever they want but all for done before 3pm.

The room itself was not great but manageable, staff was easy to talk to and helpful when you asked but other than that it's way overpriced for what you get.
- Gillian (8/5): Good price, right on the beach, lovely overall - Mostly loved staying here. There was a constant noise that the staff said is due to a water pump which was a little annoying. You could also hear a heavy bass coming from the beach while trying to sleep but this hotel is on the party beach. Lovely overall!! Great price, breakfast included, lots of shopping near by, gorgeous pool, AC, mini fridge, safe box, nice bathroom, balcony, very clean, lovely staff, and a great book about Buddhism.

Overall maintenance of the property needs to be improved. My group had 3 rooms, 2 smelled terribly like mold, one flooded in the middle of the stay. There were many, many small things that should have been fixed. The location was incredible, especially if you are there for a full-moon party.

- John (4/5): It was like staying inside a night club - Not really there fault I guess but a club down the road was applying doof doof music all night, extremely loud. I was on the side of the cloud so I ended up asking to me moved at midnight they did accommodate this but even so it was terrible hard to sleep with the music barring all night.

- Chris (6/5): Smokey but no cigars - Nice location on the nice beach but unfortunately the beach view from the pool is blocked because the hotel has decided to store shop counters for bucket drink sales so the view is blocked. The beach is venue for party every night so it makes the hotel grounds very nosy, so don't count on undisturbed sleep if you go to bed early. Nice rooms but no steady hot water supply (either too hot or cold) so showering not really pleasant. Also it seems that you have to ask directly for room cleaning as it doesn't happen even if you put your "please make up room" on the door. Decent restaurant with friendly staff. I would say most of the hotel staff could however use a service training and better english language. When asked the hotel is quick to fix but it would be nice if they just covered the things to start with. Surely there must be some resorts within same price range but where the service is better.

- Amornpan (8/5): Great hotel with awesome service and location - We stayed at sunrise resort for 5 nights and had a great time here. We booked a deluxe room, which was very spacious and clean. We had pool view and could also see the beach from our balcony. Everything was great. The only thing that bothered us a little bit, was that the tap water in the bathroom smelled like metal. The hotel pool is nice with direct access to the bar,so you can enjoy a cocktail while in the water. The staff was so nice and friendly. The food in the resort was good but the best part of the menu was the coconut shake! Haad Rin beach is beautiful and you are there within one step out of the hotel. The sand is smooth and the water crystal clear. All the shops and restaurants are nearby and reachable within minutes. We weren't here during full moon so it was a little less crowded and we loved that. However, it is very tourist oriented, especially with young backpackers. So if you want to experience Thailand with locals and great food you should visit thongsala and the Saturday night market. Also the nightlife is directly next to the hotel so you can hear the action distantly throughout the night. All in all, the hotel is great and location as well. Everything you need for a great stay at Haad Rin.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a good Hotel! - Even if only in this hotel for the Full Moon Party, the standard is not acceptable by today's standards. Badly out of date, worn, grotty. The game has moved on substantially and this hotel, along with Haad Rin as a town has fallen badly behind. It's like no one cares in the hotel or the town as a whole. Bad rooms, bad service, bad food. Bitten by bed bugs and got food poisoning while only there 2 days. After a full month in other parts of Thailand nothing like this happened to me elsewhere. Couldn't wait to leave, will not return. If you only care about Full Moon partying then it's a great location but nothing else to recommend it

I reserved and payed the additional amount one of the "nicer" rooms close the pool and beach. Instead they put me in a much cheaper room that was further away and in kinda run down condition. The safe didn't work and there were just problems after problems. The manager offered me a free drink and breakfast which would have come to about $20. Sweet but no thanks. On top of everything they kept my $100 deposit. Do not stay here. Bad bad bad.

- Jeff D. (6/5): Rich "Resort" - I stayed at Rich resort for a few nights during my backpacking trip through southeast asia. The rooms are average hotel rooms with decent air-con and fridge. I wouldn't call this a resort by any means. There is plenty of places to eat and some bars in the area, along with a night market nearby where you can get some cheap food at night. Beaches were decent, chairs were free. If you are looking for nightlife you would be better staying in Chaweng, but if you are looking for a cheaper place to chill out then this place would be ok. Also, the walls into the hallways are thin and you can hear everything, so avoid being in a room near stairs or you may have problems trying to sleep at night,

- Lizzie (2/5): Seeing is not believing - The pictures for this hotel are beautiful, and my boyfriend and I were excited to stay here. The price was reasonable but a little more expensive than others on the island, which we were fine with as it looked like a nice place and a good location. When we arrived, the hotel building was dingy and dirty - the reception looked decades old and the staff were rude and told us to sit down and wait. The pool area was nice but playing very loud and obnoxious music. Instead of being taken to a room inside the main hotel, we were taken across the road to a very old looking building that overlooked a primary school (loud!) on one side and a main street on the other (even louder!). The room did not resemble the pictures, the air conditioner did not work properly, it was hot and dirty and the shower was a plastic hose that was broken. We left, without getting our money back (because we had paid in full online and their policy says no refunds), and went to stay somewhere else that was both cheaper and nicer. Don't be fooled by this one!
- Tessa (4/5): Close to full moon party and that's it - We booked 3 rooms and when we showed up they claimed we had only booked 2 when we had clear confirmation for 3. When then had one of our rooms have no air conditioning the whole time, even after numerous requests to have it fixed. The staff are very unfriendly and the pool was very dirty but it was full moon.

I was only staying one night so I didn't have to ride the boat back to Samui drunk, so if it wasn't for the full moon party I would never stay here.
