- Anthony (2/5): - DID NOT STAY and lost my money Will never deal with Expedia AGAIN
- David (2/5): - Expedia ad terribly misleading. Picture showed rooms with knotty pine panelling and ceramic floors. Actual rooms are in a run down motel with ancient filthy carpet that reeks of cigarette smoke. Expedia ad claimed 24/7 front desk, but when I arrived I saw nothing but a phone number in the window. Called the number and was told to go to the unit and walk in the unlocked door to get the key. My car was the only one in the parking lot, not a soul in the rest of the place and no employees on site. Decided that I wouldn't be safe or comfortable there, so phoned the number and said I was checking out because the place was disgusting.

- Bill (6/5): - Property provided everything needed. Our room was relatively clean, though bathroom looked used and worn out. A bit noisy at times from other guests and the cars passing through the road nearby. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay for such a relatively low price.
- Tanya (2/5): - There was an overwhelming Smokey smell to the room that left our clothes smelling of smoke. The walls were filthy. Beds were clean. Had it not been for a clean bed to sleep after a 13 hour day I would have left. No coffee maker. The staff however did call to make arrangements for an contactless after hours arrival which was appreciated.
- Agnes (4/5): - Did not have the amenities advertised, especially no coffee maker in the room. Not enough linens or bottled water for the number of guests booked. Could hear neighbors through the walls. Not as much of a bargain as I thought.
- Donald (6/5): - The ceiling fan/light flickered but never came on except once when I sat on the bed and it blazed gloriously only to darken once more. The bed lamp had to be plugged in to use as the switch was inoperable.

They just provided a 366 ml drinking water bottle and if the tap water is not drinkable small water bottle for the whole room is a big joke! Expedia should delist this property, i trusted Expedia for this one and this is not livable. I paid $83 for one person and could not even take a bath. This is unfair with guests!

- Cassandra (2/5): - I’m so unimpressed that there was no running water when I got up this morning. No one was on site to help remedy the issue. I called and was told to wait and see if the water started again and if not they would have to send someone out to look at it. I waited over an hour and still no water. I get things happen but this isn’t acceptable. I do not recommend this motel. I’ve stayed here with previous owners before and never had any issues.
- Deborah (4/5): 1st time and Never again. - Timing was bad for this trip because everything in town that was booked for a tournament or something. The room was small and dark and dingy..only 1 light and a ceiling fan. The bedding was stained in multiple places the heat source is clearly marked as a fire hazard. There was no hot water. If there was an obvious better choice it would have been taken since they did offer a room change when my husband complained. Under the circumstances he was there for a family emergency and just needed a bed to sleep in but will NEVER go there again.

Finally, a woman opened the door, but the room I had booked (with 2 beds) was unavailable. She said we could get a refund if we decided not to stay, which we didn’t. She said that I had to contact Expedia for the refund because I had booked and paid through them. When I reached someone at Expedia the next morning, I was told that they would reach out to the hotel. Needless to say, I never heard back from anyone and I never got my refund. Don’t stay here!!! The motel is run down and there was garbage everywhere!!!

- Lynn (2/5): - Arrived at four pm and the office was closed. Taped to the door was three envelopes with guests names mine was one inside was key to room. When I went into the room beds were made and room looked ok. On further inspection there was only one towel no hand towels or face clothes, no toilet paper. My husband finally found a house keeper that was leaving and told her we needed toilet paper and towels which she got. Later that night we realized there was a coffee machine but no coffee cups, coffee, sugar etc. when I lifted the lid there was an old used coffee filter left inside. Obviously this room was not cleaned or finished properly. Think twice before you decide to stay here.

The floors were filthy, no surfaces had been wiped down, the linens were stained (I hope) and needed to be bleached. The walls and doors need to be wiped down also. The only thing that kept us from leaving was that every single other hotel/motel in the area were sold out. We checked in around 9:30 pm to find our key in an envelope taped to the door and couldn't communicate with anyone at time of check out. The room looked not at all like in the pictures. It was an overall VERY disappointing and gross stay.

- justin (2/5): NOPE sandwich with extra NOPE sauce! Stay away!!! - I am not a complainer... I'm a suck it up kinda guy who doesnt like to rock the boat or inconvenience anyone. Emergency stay due to a road closure. Last $80 spent Booking it late at night, 11ish, knowing there was not cancelation available after booking. (Like anywhere I figure) I'm not sure which "Bay Motel" some others are staying at with anything other than a 1-star rating. Perhaps the bay motel in a parallel universe and the internet is a bit confused with which one to attribute those good ratings to. The last room available and it was smoking. So my expectations for this room on hotels.com has started far below par. Where to start... Upon arrival 11.15? No one available... just a key on the door with my name on it and a wifi password. The room? Stinks like smoke (expected) Chips, lint, strings, clothing tags on the floor in plain view. (And not a little... more like watch where you walk) Hair on the bed as well as crusty food stuffs (i hope) No towels or wash cloths Dirty ash tray Bathroom had streams of tar running down the wall. Filthy ceiling with smok tarpatches from condensation Hole in the wall stuffed with toilet paper Food in microwave Blood in fridge and unusable freezer No working windows Screen door has a 3-inch gap at the bottom... so i can take my chances with mosquitoes per chance I want the much-needed fresh air. No tv channels wifi didnt work. No refund from motel or hotels.com The pros... it had beds and a toilet... Blanket+car=better
- Dennis (2/5): What a dump! - Property was a MESS!!! Don't know if they were renovating or had just let it run down. Obvious signs of someone being in room since cleaned as there were keys left there and someone had been on bed. Bed was hard. There were no towels and when someone bought them to room, they were still damp. No cups, no garbage can, no microwave. The front office was a mess and the person on duty reeked of pot. I've stayed here before and it was ok but never again. Early evening checkin

- Yaron (4/5): What you see is not what you finally gets - There is a big difference between the photographer and what actually provides Order by web, did not got the room that i ordered, the clsim was that the pictures and descriptions was for the superior rooms The microwave did not work, the coffee machine did not have a capsules and caps, No shampoo st the bathrooms, contenders are empty , refrigerator did not function ..... Bottom line , there other superior alternatives at the same or lower price at the city
- Elise (2/5): - I don't even know where to start. We booked our room late as we are traveling across Canada, we tried calling multiple times, as well as tried messaging the motel, with no success. When we arrived the office was closed and they had left the key to our room outside. When we got to our room there were beer bottles an cans piled up outside of our door. When we entered the room, the floor was FILTHY with leaves and other debtor all over the carpet. The fridge had blood inside of it next to the box of baking soda, there was no soap, shampoo,or conditioner and the toilet was full and clogged so we couldn't even use it. The bathroom sink was gross, the garbage can was caked in filth and the towels they left for the jacuzzi were wet. We had to wear shoes on the floor as the carpet and floors were so gross it was unsanitary. We tried contacting the office again but to no avail. Upon checkout, the sign on the office door told us to ring and if nobody answers, call them. However they do not answer. Finally someone came to the door and opened the door a tiny crack and just stared at me. I stated I would like to check out,and handed the key to her. Before I could say another word, she snatched the key from me and slammed and locked the door. This was the worst, and most disgusting experience I've ever had with a hotel or motel. I took so many pictures just because it was so unbelievable. The bathroom sink didn't even work and the jacuzzi water was yellow. We spent $160 for this nightmare

- Kelly (6/5): - I can not comment on the venue as our reservation was cancelled while we were on the road to the booking. I had sent a message using Expedia app a couple of days prior to the date to inform the owners that our check-in time would be 8pm to 10 pm, but they never received. So when we didn't show up by 7pm they cancelled our reservation and gave the rooms to someone else because we had chosen the "pay at hotel" option. This was a miscommunication error between Expedia and the hotel, but unfortunately my family are the ones that paid the price.

- Micheal (2/5): Smokey - The room had an overwhelming smell of pine sol cleaning agent. After the smell of the cleaning supplies wore of it was quite evident as to why they used so much. I have never smelled that much cigarette smoke in my life and by that time the front desk would have been closed and I was travelling alone and leaving early. Had my wife been there we would have left the motel. I left before 4 am so didn't have a chance to talk to the staff. There were stains all over in the bathroom and top of baseboard was lousy with dirt. Cheap and dirty.

The bathroom wall was a bit dirty and there was a small stain on a bedsheet, but otherwise it was clean and tidy. Smelled of smoke, but may have been a smoking room (I didn't specify when booking as I just needed whatever room I could get). The driveway wasn't plowed out so a bit hard for my car to drive through, but it easy otherwise to park. Staff were friendly and the room was nice and quiet. I didn't hear noise from neighboring rooms. Overall happy with experience given the short notice when booking.

Very quiet and peaceful stay and even though it was a 5 min drive from the town of North Bay, everything was right there. I have been staying at this place for the last 10 years and it’s always been peace and quiet staying there.
- Samantha (2/5): Very disappointed - I reserved a jacuzzi suite for my husbands birthday and when I arrived to check in I was told they “did not notice my reservation until late in the day” and allowed another person to extend their stay and stay in that suite. Instead of the suite I reserved I got a small room with 2 double beds. There was almost no water pressure and the water was scalding hot only and then after an hour we had no water when we turned the taps on at all and had to call the front desk and told it had to be reset. I was very disappointed with this stay, and likely will not be returning. Previous to this trip I stayed often as I loved the suite and usually had great customer service.

- Cindy (2/5): Bates motel! - My stay here was probably the worse place ive ever stayed at. The bed frame was too big for the bed, i cut my ankle on it. It was small, looked nothing like the pictures, cords wouldn’t stay in the wall, dead bugs all over the place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Friendly owners and trying but, the retail store hangers and very little plug ins. Ad said free water and ropes, there was none. The partying and bbqing outside our room was a bit much. We tolerated it as well as hearing the hot tub going till almost midnight and then the worst was the earwig under the sheets in the bed. We knew we are not getting 4 star results, but was hoping for a little better then what we got.

- shelleysV176TW (8/5): My Home away from Home - Well i have been here off an on all of Sept. Iv been in 3 different rooms and they are roomy, clean and cozy feeling. i loved that the 2 rooms had amazing soaker tubs. Im a PSW so there was times i was dead tired came home and just relaxed, the owners are very friendly and easy to talk with. As i was here for work they gave me a break on my rooms and me in return looked after my room. i know i didnt have too. If I needed extra towels not at problem. the housekeeping was really prompt. If your not looking for fancy just a nice rest stop this is the place to be. Between you and me book room 8 or 2 those tubs were awesome. Unfortunately not pet friendly, and im sad to say ill miss staying here as i found a rental house. No there wasnt breakfast but a nice restaurant up the road or take the drive into North Bay. it was great for me, i bought food and drinks and ate microwaved dinners and salad and chicken wraps. Thank you for your kindness and making sure i always had a room. Shelley Sovie Colborne Ont

- Verified traveler (8/5): - We arrived late at night after a long drive and the staff were lovely and quick about getting us checked in. The private hot tub was most welcomed after a long day!! The only thing we didn't like was that the room was not throughly cleaned after the previous guests...there was garbage on the floor... food wrappers and beverage bottles under the bed.
- Bob (2/5): - The photo did not tell 1,000 words! The room needs to be repainted as paint is chip, bathroom also needs to be painted and the electric radiator is rusted, toilet seat broken. One burnt out bulb in lightening fixture in living area burnt out. Three burnt out light bulbs in bathroom. Shower stall needs repair. No soap or shampoo in dispensers. No instructions for the jacuzzi ... thankfully it did work! This room was a great disappointment and the room was overpriced at total cost of $179.00

- Verified traveler (6/5): Good night sleep at a half way point - Picture is not of the room we had. If you love carpet and panelling that is what the room had. The bed was extremely comfortable and even being located on highway, it was extremely quiet. It was a good night's sleep.

Coffee table was filthy wiped it and white face cloth was black. On side of jacuzzi on tiling a nail is sticking out Just overall big disappointment

- Daniel (6/5): Wouldnt stay again even if it was free. - The original room was dirty!!! When another room was requested, I was accused of using the room I had just checked into (half hr prior to compaining) because the bedding was pulled back from me checking the status of the bedding cleanliness; first thing I do in any/every room I check into. The second room was cleaner but the bed was hard and not comfortable. I was driving straight through from Victoria BC to Saint John NB and only took a room due to an unexpected winter storm. I would not recommend this hotel.
