Guest Reviews

- ninabS2347CK (10/5): Kindness that makes you want to stay longer - Cobblestone was very accommodating with my last minute stay, this time with my son and I.
My son was driving the U-Haul, myself and of my belongings to my new home in Rugby… In fact I could say, it was because of the kindness, care, and “old school” professionalism that I experienced from the staff at Cobblestone that aided in my decision to move/run from the big city of Chicago to the beauty and charm of Rugby. The folks at Cobblestone while “just doing their job” were like so many of the folks in this town I now call home - extending hospitality to this weary traveler. Many thanks Cobblestone… Now my friends and family will be visiting with you as my space can only hold so many… But I can almost hear the staff say, “ … There’s always room for one more…”
- Mlaryann (10/5): Incredible above & beyond 👍 - OMG The staff went above and beyond for me. I'm disabled and traveling alone. Unfortunately my debit card was compromised just before arriving. The manager made an exception for me and was able to pay cash for the first 2 nights. Also I would have been stranded at the Amtrak due to debit card & WiFi issues. A staff member who lives close to the station picked me up and took me to the hotel. Incredible people. Small town hospitality with big city amenities. Thank you Cobblestone 🥰😍🤩
- S2222RYpatrickp (6/5): Conblestone - Hotel is always quite nice little spot for a layover.
- S7699XQtheresaw (10/5): Great - The room was great, the beds were comfy. The breakfast was delicious.
- Dustin (8/5): -
- fredhU3015LY (10/5): Enjoyed my stay - My stay was excellent. Got a great nights sleep. Everything was great. Have stayed there before and will stay in the future.
- Tyler (6/5): -
- Tourist67161662840 (10/5): Safe & comfort - My room was located on the first floor, so it was easily assessable. The overall atmosphere was pleasant, professional and most accommodating. My room was made ready early as my train arrival was at 8 in the morning. I had no where to go and was a mile away from the hotel, but one of the employees, Joel, was driving by and saw a stranger, (me) walking with luggage and offered his assistance. Under normal circumstances I would NOT accept a ride from any one, but Joel’s demeanor and genuine kindness was disarming of my fear. The desk staffers, Cindy, Kathy, Katie, and Rhonda, (I believe), were all very kind, (on the phone when booking and in person). The cost of my stay was comparable to an Airbnb. The noise level was also very good. I could have said something about the visitor next door on my last night, who listened to the television throughout the night til 2 in the morning, but I didn’t. It was muffled, but constant nor the fault of the hotel.
All in all, I am aware that I am a peculiar visitor. I bring my own bedding and towels and do my own cleaning. I am thankful to have a place to sleep safely and relatively comfortably.
- Yri (10/5): Comfortable stay -even though it was a short stay (due to delayed arrival of the train) - Courteous staff, cleanliness of the room & breakfast room Nothing
- Josh (7/5): -
- Tracy (7/5): - This is a newer hotel in the area. Their beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Even my own at home. We travel a dozen times a year all over the country. Clean and comfortable bedding. The lobby lounge is closed temporarily due to staffing. The price is high for winter bookings. There is no pool.
- Kathy (6/5): -
- H (10/5): -
- Terry (10/5): -
- Debra (10/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): - We traveled by motorcycle - storage space is limited - more hair care and body care products would be appreciated
- Crystal (9/5): Great location. Clean comfortable room. Great prices. Wonderful staff. I'd stay here again. - Breakfast was great, a lot of options to choose from. I had biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and breakfast potatoes. I stayed on the 2nd floor. The door to get upstairs was very load when it would shut making it hard for me to fall asleep at night.
- patcJ5150FQ (10/5): Short, but sweet - Very nice and clean. Cozy feel. Continental breakfast with good variety. Would stay there again if passing thru the area.
- Jeffrey (8/5): -
- Brian (8/5): -
- Miller (9/5): - Staff was great. It was very busy.
- Lisa (9/5): Great experience. - It was very clean and the staff was great.
- Jesse (8/5): - It was a nice place to stay
- Lisa (10/5): - We didn’t use amenities like the gym, but the room was comfortable. Breakfast was good: make your own waffles, cheese omelette, bacon, French toast, yogurt, cereal, toast options & more!
- debbiem897 (10/5): Good Stay. - Nice room could use some updating. Large room and separate bedroom. Breakfast was really good, nice options. Front desk employees were friendly and informative. Would definitely recommend. Good restaurant next door. Facility was clean.
- Elona (10/5): -
- Lillie (6/5): - We was on the first floor. That was nice On friday night we couldn't get rest due to someone running n stomping over our room
- Thomas (10/5): - Lovely location. The property is neat and clean. The staff has been very personable. Large parking lot.
- Dan (10/5): - Great
- Deborah (6/5): - Staff was helpful. Room was dingy. Furniture old and frayed. Breakfast limited.
- pjt7581 (8/5): Very convenient, reasonably priced - Very convenient location. The room was nice and clean, quiet. The A/C was a bit noisy, couldn't hear the TV when it was running.
I saw they have a sign posted that they are dog-friendly at a very reasonable price. Would definitely stay here again. The price was reasonable, too. All staff I encountered were friendly.
- Nancy (8/5): Nice place but a noisy HVAC - The good: very comfortable bed/room, nice breakfast, clean.
The not so good: didn’t realize there was no elevator. Had to carry everything upstairs.
The bad: HVAC unit was so noisy we turned it off to sleep until the room got too stuffy and hot, then slept on and off the rest of the night. Would have reported it in the morning, but the front desk person would not acknowledge my presence.
- Trip21807796733 (2/5): Disappointing/Uncleanliness - I folded out the sleeper couch and found stains on the cover, and there was food left in the refrigerator from the last guest.
The lids for the disposable coffee cups where stained, they looked like they had been reused...absolutely disgusting.
- Julie (8/5): -
- Julie (8/5): -
- Donald (8/5): - Location, staff, breakfast Pillows mostly flat, bed squeaky
- Jon (10/5): - Nice and clean and quiet.
- Barbara (7/5): - Just okay! Waffle batter too thick. Couldn’t really even make a waffle. Give it a 5 out of 10
- Steve and Betty (8/5): - Helpful, quick and quiet.
Thank you
- Verified traveler (8/5): When in Rugby, Stay at Cobblestone Inn & Suites - We've been to Rugby, ND, several times and will only stay at The Cobblestone Inn & Suites. The people are always friendly, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
- Clyde (10/5): - Good place to stay, clean, upgraded recently.
- jameseQ4662EC (10/5): This is the hotel you'll want for the area. - Friendly staff, clean facilities, and located adjacent to a good bar and restaurant. It works very well as a jumping off point to drive into Canada.
- Katrina (6/5): Good people needs some TLC - Friendly staff and welcoming Lamp was broken outlets didn’t work multiple remotes for tv where a lot of channels didn’t work
- David - Mary (6/5): - Exercise room is something of a joke, one piece of equipment, some weights next to the washer and dryer. Breakfast space is tiny, modest options, plastic lids don’t fit paper coffee cups — you get it.
Perhaps it’s the best in Rugby, ND, but over-priced for this modest (yet clean) property.
- Carolyn (10/5): I.had a pleasant, comfortable two nights. I am very glad it was available. - The bed was very comfortable. Everything was fine.
- Rodney (10/5): - I have stayed here before. The staff is exceptionally helpful. This site is very convenient to a fine "Prairie Museum." Check hours and plan to spend half a day.
- Kyle (10/5): -
- Trip53841678234 (10/5): - The hotel room was clean and neat, and I felt comfortable and at ease my entire stay. The bed was so soft and made for a great night's sleep. Also, the desk staff were all very kind and personable :)
- Garen (8/5): Very good -
- wearmanyhats (10/5): Great Place to Stay in a Small City - A nice place to stay near the International Peace Gardens. There's a museum in town and the room was clean, quiet, with easy access as we had requested. Our suite was actually two rooms and not a place that pretends to be a suite because it added a couch in the main room. This is nice because my husband likes to stay up late and I rise early. Very accommodating person at the front desk, pleasant and tries hard to help in any way she can.
- Donald (10/5): Highly recommended. - Large counter top in bathroom. Well lit mirror in bathroom. No elevator.
- Rodney (8/5): Very good -
- Peggy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grace (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and a good rate
- Julie (7/5): Good -
- Diane (10/5): - Loved the reception staff. Very accommodating
- Kimberly (8/5): - Thank you for being here!!
- V7958JGdanp (10/5): Great place to stay - Stayed at the Cobblestone Inn in Rugby previously. The staff is very professional and helpful. The rooms are super clean. The free breakfast is a nice also .
- M3930FIsarahs (8/5): Enjoyable stay. - Very nice welcoming staff. Room clean and soft comfy bed. Easy parking. Free breakfast adequate with basic items. Did not see an elevator so not sure if 2nd floor is easily accessed? Would definitely return.
- Marcia (10/5): - It was quiet, clean, and the breakfast was great.
- Naomi (10/5): - Short stay to see family. Clean, comfortable room.
- Cruiser62207337077 (6/5): Overpriced for Rugby ND - The room was clean but average and way overpriced. $150 is way to expensive for a one night stay in an average hotel in Rugby ND. The lounge was not open and the continental breakfast ran out of food and there was no coffee. Not worth the money in my opinion.
- Largent (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lance (5/5): Too high priced for what you get - Not super busy and a decent location Not much parking on pavement
- Hjelmstad (6/5): It was ok. The bed was comfortable. I was suppose to have a first floor room because I - Breakfast was ok. All there was was egg in omelet form. They were ok. Waffle iron was out of order. There was cereal and bread for toast. Wasn't outstanding Breakfast but it was adequate. There was no bacon or sausage. There wasn't much for cereal.
- Matthew (9/5): Superb - Great accommodations.
- Gavin (6/5): - No elelevator
- Kunkel (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean! Beds are very comfortable, quite comfortable for a small town hotel! I would definitely stay here again!
- Largent (7/5): Good - Stay there often and always a good experience.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (10/5): - Great front desk staff
- robcatSteRoseMB (10/5): Very clean and safe. - Very clean and quite location. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Easy parking with large 5th wheel camper. I never tried the internet. Work out room was a little small we thought. Laundry room on-site. Good water pressure in shower.
- Michelle (10/5): - I stay here every time I’m in town for business in the surrounding areas
- Kt. (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodney (10/5): - Nice clean rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Laundry access. Good location on US Hwy 2, very near HAMC complex.
- nancyduffy (10/5): Clean and comfortable - The room was clean and well maintained. The employees were friendly and accommodating. The room was nice and spacious. We did not go down for the breakfast, but it looked like a nice a nice area. We were in an upstairs room, so it was fairly quiet. A few slamming doors, but to be expected at a hotel. We enjoyed our overnight stay
- Curious56501185991 (10/5): Excellent - Staff were welcoming and kind. Mattresses were very comfortable. I stay at a lot of hotels and this one was one of the cleanest I have seen in a long time! The breakfast was very tasty. We appreciated the larger size rooms and bathrooms. They did not feel claustrophobic.
- Duane (6/5): - Did not clean our room the whole week.
- Richard (8/5): We like the stay - We never had a chance to try it
- K1747XTdanr (8/5): High value hotel - High value hotel in great location. Very clean and comfortable room. Plenty of parking for trucks and trailers. Staff and manager were very courteous and helpful with restaurant suggestions. A new grill would be my only suggested improvement.
- Bobbi (8/5): - It is a small town, only two hotels. It was a quiet place and the room was clean.
- Pamela (8/5): Very good -
- kathycM3009EO (10/5): Will stay here again! - The staff was very friendly and helpful during check in and when I had questions. The room was a nice size, clean and the bed was very comfortable! The coffee and toiletries in the room were quality products. The breakfast was good. I always love it when a hotel has good coffee and flavored creamer packets!
- Douglas (8/5): - Rooms are a little too expensive
- Susan (9/5): Restful and interesting - On our route and easy to access. Quiet N/A
- John (8/5): Affordable - Location Bed
- Danny (10/5): Great place to stay - Very nice hotel and the bed was very comfortable after a long drive from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. I travelled with my dog. I wish that the room was on the main floor for those who have dogs. I was at the second floor and there was no elevator.
The only issue was the coffee maker. There was dirty water (staled water) in the coffee machine in the room.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable. Check in was easy. Front desk ladies, not the friendliest!
- 537shannone (4/5): Late night front desk staff could use some more training - We checked in around 10:30pm after traveling from the state of Michigan for a wedding Labor Day weekend. Upon arrival, even though I had received a confirmation email that morning at 8am with the details of our stay, the front desk clerk kept informing us that she had “NO ARRIVALS SCHEDULED”. I showed her the email and then she asked me for our confirmation number. After typing it in, “See, I don’t have a reservation for you.” Then I gave her my name. She typed it in - “Oh, well maybe you should have just given me your name to begin with.” She then proceeds to tell me that the room has already been paid for. “You must have paid for it when you booked it.” She gave us our keys and then she said, “Maybe next time, just give your name upon check in.” Let me be clear, she never asked our name when we arrived just stated she had no arrivals coming in.
After going up to our room, we realized we could use one more blanket for our kids. My husband went downstairs and she told him that the credit card we had on file was declined and she needed another payment. She said she wouldn’t give him a blanket until after she received payment. He came back upstairs and I went down with my wallet. I gave her the same card and she ran it just fine. Then she said, “I got into trouble for checking you in without valid payment. Maybe you should have checked that when you were down here earlier.” I said, “You told us the room was paid for and never asked for a credit card to run, so maybe that is on you, not us.” She was completely rude from the minute we arrived and should not be working a front desk at a hotel, in my opinion. When we come to Rugby, it is to visit family that live nearby for a funeral, wedding or graduation. Cobblestone is the only option for our family to stay and typically, our experience is much better than this trip. I really hope our next visit leaves us with a better check-in experience than this last trip.
- Mark (10/5): - Comfortable
- Kenneth (8/5): - The stay was very good. The only issue I noted was that the back entry door did not function well, or lock as it was supposed to.
- 716kristiew (10/5): My favorite hotel. Super clean and comfortable. - I would go out of my way to stay at Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Rugby, ND.
Very clean and pleasant.
There was no smoke smell anywhere. The rooms smelled fresh - no perfumes or odor covers. There was none of that rank smell in the halls, that most hotels have. Well cared for! The staff/owners were seriouse about giving their patrons a good experience. Nice breakfast arrangement as well!
Thank you for a wonderful stay and good night's sleep.
- marionmS633LN (10/5): Wonderful place, will be back again - Inn was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed at a Cobblestone in Carrington ND last year, so staying at the one in Rugby was an easy decision. We have recommended it to others and plan on staying there again.,
- Barbara (10/5): Reliably comfortable - I have stayed here several times over the last couple years. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It is always clean and the beds are comfortable.
- Donna (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay. Would stay again.
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Curious40581398649 (10/5): Clean, quiet, and would stay again! - We stayed at this hotel for a family wedding. The staff was super helpful, friendly, and accommodating to all our needs. The hotel is conveniently located. Our rooms were plenty big, clean, quiet, and had a mini fridge, microwave, and safe. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Rugby.
- Judy (8/5): decent place to stay - It was a very nice place breakfast was very good and friendly, spotless rooms two things I did not care for were the toilet was too low for my bad knees and the bed was too high and hard to get into
- Kristine (9/5): Superb - Good breakfast!
