- Jane (7/5): -
- elizabeth (10/5): Excellent - Very conveniently located, near tram stop with regular and frequent trams to New St station. Walking distance to Jewellery Quarter. A nice welcome, a comfortable and quiet room and a very good breakfast included.
- Mary (10/5): Great , location, breakfast, and value for money. - Great location, comfortable beds , and excellent value for money Would like a later checkout
- Kimi (6/5): -
- Michele (8/5): - Bed was very comfortable. Shower was lovely and hot. Breakfast was good. Would have preferred a bit more choice at breakfast, otherwise everything else was good.
- keely (10/5): Absolutely fantastic stay from start to finish! The hotel was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. What tr - Fantastic location for what we needed.
- Daniel (8/5): Quiet room and excellent staff - Quiet room, good working AC, staff were all very friendly Room could have been cleaner; breakfast was very average quality but it was free
- Khalima (2/5): - Awful unsafe location and cold breakfast, will not be staying here again!
- Quinn (8/5): -
- Lezlee (8/5): Birmingham cheeky night away - Good location and great value for money. Breakfast included in price and was excellent. Staff very friendly and accomadating. Got a free drink for having to wait as key card machine was not working. 2 things. The pillows were rather small and looked tiny in comparison to the bed. A bit strange. The other was a small window with awdul view onto roof of hotel. Curtain covered a wall and other the awful view.made room very dull .
- Monica (9/5): A good option for Birmingham - Good location, nice room, clean.
- Nash-Willaims (9/5): Good Choice! - Friendly & attentive staff. Close location to the arena - had a cheap Uber. Clean and tidy. Lovely breakfast. Thanks for the nice stay.
- Elisabetta (10/5): - Posizione ottima, vicinissimo alla tramway, personale gentilissimo, colazione a buffet abbondante. Struttura silenziosa, letti comodi
- Cesc11 (9/5): OTTIMA SORPRESA - Praticamente tutto.
Grazie +++++
- Gloria (9/5): Good and child friendly. - I liked the hotel being near the train and tram stops. I like the environment, clean rooms and toilets, comfortable chairs in lounges etc In my room the shower pressure was too low that made us take long to take a shower.
- Louisa (1/5): This hotel was a real disappointment and I felt really let down after having read positive reviews before I booked - The room was not clean. The bedding had dark curly hairs on it, make up on the pillow and stains on the sheet. There were curly black hairs all over the bathroom also. The room smelled overpoweringly of air freshener when I checked in which when it faded the room smelled very strongly of damp. The cooked breakfast was cold and that was at 7.15am and consisted of only a few cooked items, no fried eggs, sausages inedible, no mushrooms, bacon over cooked. It was the worst cooked breakfast I’ve ever had anywhere and I love a good cooked breakfast and it’s one of the things I usually really look forward to when I’m staying away from home.
- Gavin (8/5): - The price for such a quality hotel was amazing. Room was excellent, and breakfast was equally good. We were woken at 4am by an oxygen detector alarm that wouldn't turn off. After phoning down to reception they organised a spare room for us to sleep in for the last couple of hours.
- Ciaran (9/5): -
- Tatiana (8/5): -
- Itziar (9/5): -
- Beverley (9/5): Great little overnight stay, really handy for the tram - Really nice welcoming staff.
Great breakfast
Sociable bar
Really comfy room
- jennifer mcnulty (10/5): Great stay - always a great little hotel to stay in
convenient for town in walking distance
Looked after by nick for our stay and he was an exceptional member of staff Breakfast could be a little better but thats just personal preference and no reflection on the hotel
- Alison (8/5): - It was a really comfortable stay. Everything
- Lily (9/5): Brilliant! - Excellent value for money, lovely comfortable room which was clean and had good facilities. Lovely breakfast too! Can’t think of anything!
- Anne (10/5): - The young man on reception was super very friendly and attentive.
- GABRIELLA (8/5): -
- Merry (9/5): Great convenient location and friendly staff - Very conveniently located nearby the train and buses. Room is a bit small but has everything needed. Breakfast buffet was great! Staff were very friendly and accommodating! N/A
- Molly (10/5): Perfect place for a cheap price - The price was very reasonable. The staff were extremely helpful & lovely Not a lot of natural light in the bedrooms due to the small window
- Alican (4/5): Not worth it - Breakfast was good. Location is next to St Pauls tram and bus stop. Bed and TV was comfortable. The internet was good. The both lifts were broken and nobody care to call maintenance, I will make a formal complaint because these lifts need to be maintained properly especially in a hotel. Reception staff was not very nice and cold. The room window was dirty and you can't even open it from inside. The bathroom door in the room was not properly closing. Not worth the price.
- Krishan (6/5): It was good but the alarm going off wasnt great - The cleanliness and the staff The alarm going off at 00:45 in the morning
- MICHELLE (10/5): Great staff, clean rooms and good value for price - Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Even got asked if we have a preference where our room was located. Never been asked this before ever
- david (10/5): -
- Nichola (10/5): Excellent staff make this a great choice! - Everything! The staff always go above and beyond and can’t do enough to make your stay pleasant! It was perfect no complaints
- Debbie (7/5): - Rooms clean and staff very polite Room 319 opposite the lift which was noisy and had a fault so throughout the night could hear the constant sound of the lift announcing the door opening, door closing. Did not get much sleep
- Nicola (8/5): Good value for money, great staff but an awful night’s sleep! - Location, staff Beds were so uncomfortable in queen room. I also booked a twin room for my daughter and the window was tiny!
- Abhirai (3/5): Way below value for money stay at ‘Hampton by Hilton’ with staff attitude’this is a budget hotel’ so eat with dirty cutl - Location wise it was ideal as we were there for an event which was just 5 minutes drive from the hotel. Too many things…
I paid for a night I didn’t stay as I wanted to use a trim upon my arrival early morning. We were given a disabled friendly room which we did not ask for. When we requested for change the room we were given had staines on our he bedsheet. The cutlery and coffee mugs were dirty at breakfast. At check out when we told the front of house staff she said well it is a low budget hotel… well that was not what I was expecting from the front of house employee. Low budget does not mean having dirty spoon or mugs…. Then when asked if we could get some fruits like banana or apple we were told no this hotel does not offered such fruits… I have stayed in multiple Hamptons and this was by far the WORSE experience ever!!! On Monday morning there was even no trays at breakfast i think it’s just a way for them to have less job to clean trays seeing how dirty the mugs and cutlery were…. Staff seems inexperienced…. Very very disappointed as we pay expensive expecting good value for money kind of stay but this was just below average in terms of value for money…
- ADIN (8/5): OTTIMO ALBERGO, PULIZIE AL PIANO DA MIGLIORARE - LA POZISIONE DELL' HOTEL , LA COLAZIONE, LA GENTILIEZZA DEL PERSONALE CAMERA TROPPO PICCOLA, SECONDO LETTO SCOMODO, IL SERVIZIO PULIZIE AL PIANO
- Shimbahry (10/5): -
- Megan (9/5): - Very clean, lovely staff! Mattress was a bit hard and the waffle breakfast was really gross but it was an impressive selection I should’ve eaten something else
- Loraine (6/5): Poor staffing and standards deteriorated. - The room on first floor was convenient and quiet.
The price was good
Room and bar area clean on arrival. The hotel seemed very short staffed, and there was frequently no one to be seen.
My husband was served at the bar by a member of staff not on duty, although we were grateful for her help this shows how the staff didn't manage their duties well or staff extremely short.
The breakfast area was a disgrace. Lots of tables were dirty, full of used items left by guests, and not cleaned.
Limited cutlery, no trays, no Granola, porridge, or any cereal of interest to adults. No fresh fruit limited berries
No tongs for toast/bread.
Reception staff not friendly with limited info on check-in found whats app QR code system myself without guidance. No one was available to checkout or system to hand in room cards.
Toilet door stiff, unable to report due to Limited staff.
Cleaners and staff showed no friendliness or service with a smile.
We have visited this hotel several times in the past, and standards have greatly deteriorated.
There is no consistency with standards within this group of hotels after we recently had 2 nights in Bath where standards and service were perfect.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Exceptional customer service. Nothing!
- David (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Excellent stay thank you - Lovely comfy clean room and great breakfast (the waffle maker!!! 10/10) Absolutely nothing it was everything we needed and would come back!
- Sharon (9/5): -
- Eamonn (10/5): - Great location, good staff, good breakfast.
Zero issues, will stay there again Nothing
- John (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Letticia (10/5): -
- Farrell (10/5): The welcoming and helpful staff at this hotel will make it my first choice for Birmingham visits. - Breakfast was excellent. A plentiful supply of cereals, pastries and freshly cooked hot breakfast items. Unlimited tea, coffee and fruit juice. It set us up for the day. Nothing.
- SIMON (8/5): Bon séjour dans l hôtel - Propreté
Silence
- Ryan (10/5): Exceeded expectations, and great value for money. Will rebook - Very impressed. Really clean, room bigger than expected. Also had a call from reception after I checked in to see everything was alright with the room. It was, but was a nice touch. Only complaint, if I had to have one, was staff member clocked off at 11pm half way through pouring my guinness
- Makozhombwe (9/5): -
- Roberta (5/5): Uncomfortable beds, stuffy rooms, disappointing and tiring hotel. - If I ignore the rock hard uncomfortable beds, lack of privacy in the bathroom, with the glass sliding door that left a clear open gap when closed, noisy old air con in unventilated/ sealed rooms and other issues, we liked the basics like the fact it was pretty close to where we needed to be and it’s right beside the tram stop too. St Paul’s Square 5 mins away is a nice spot.
The staff were doing their best with a lot of technical issues. Breakfast was basic but appreciated and had a few extra things in it on the second morning of our stay. Maybe they alter it depending on occupancy. We appreciated the kettle in the room and the fitness centre, although both treadmills weren’t working on the second day. We stay in a lot of hotels and tend to be high rating reviewers as we know people work hard to make their guests happy but this was the most uncomfortable hotel we’ve stayed in for a long time.
I didn’t even know they made mattresses that firm! Almost like sleeping on the floor. I really would have thought Hilton might have worked out what a good night sleep is and how to provide it. But at least it meant we were awake when the fire alarm went off at dawn.
The stuffy rooms even on a grey cool day had to have the air con on or there was just no air and the air con unit vibrated a lot. The bed shook when the person in the next room got in and out of bed.
The glazed, sliding bathroom door left an open gap when closed and locked so it wasn’t good for privacy. The lifts were temperamental (yes we did know to use our keycard to operate it) our keycards stopped working twice a day and we had to go and get them reprogrammed.
The location is okay as it’s near some good things but the road it’s on and surrounding streets are pretty desolate and run down.
We had stayed at another large chain’s hotel just outside Birmingham the night before our arrival and, although it was an older hotel, we slept well and had a much better experience.
- Adams (6/5): - located right by the tram line was great and the shop next door for drinks and snacks was also handy.
at breakfast there were no sausages, very small amount of fruit and its a small area so during busy times was quite off putting.
lots of areas of wallpaper was ripped on the way to our room also. we had barely any natural light in the room as we had just 1 small window that looked out onto the roof.
- Leah (8/5): -
- Hardheal (10/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): Fantastic hotel I will only stay here whilst I’m in Birmingham - Car park literally adjacent to the hotel and only £8 for 25 hours
The staff were fantastic
The hotel room was beautiful
Bathroom was well appointed with be auto complimentary toiletries
Free breakfast was beautiful
This hotel is SUPERB Absolutely nothing
Everything was perfect
- ojo (9/5): -
- Ryan (5/5): Just OK - Didn’t spend much time there but seemed ok overall. Staff were helpful and attentive. Woken up by an alarm sounding in our room only at 6am. Staff dealt with it promptly but we had to move rooms which was frustrating as we had a late night and were then both shattered. The shower tray overflowed as the water was not draining properly.
- Lilley (7/5): Good Room and reasonably central location - Room and hotel were nice once inside. Staff were super friendly and helpful. N/a
- Rebekah (8/5): -
- Iain (9/5): Excellent stay . Perfect location and great breakfast - The location was perfect for us Our shower was blocked but staff changed our room right away . Room shouldn’t of been checked before allocation
- ukaegbu (8/5): Honest Review - The environment was clean .rooms nice and clean.free breakfast option was amazing 👏 No car parking space
- Hudson (8/5): - Nice rooms decent facilities friendly professional staff Had to switch rooms issues with the lights in the original room. But switched rooms and were very helpful and friendly in doing so.
- Asagade (9/5): - I enjoyed the breakfast. It was really nice. I wish there was waffles though. But overall, every other meal available was superb. Nothing
- julie (6/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): - Very central ideal for what we needed
- Nicket (8/5): enjoyable stay despite minor issues - I liked how the soap/shower gel dispensers were installed in the bathroom, this should be replicated in other hotels
nice decor in the room
decent, filling breakfast
excellent housekeeping
good location, next to St. Paul’s metro station oddly small wash basin with a terrible design, having to lean forward every time to avoid spilling water everywhere
water took a while to drain from basin, shower
I did not like the hooks to hang towels….the towel kept falling down
they seemed short-staffed as I requested for coffee, milk sachets and was told to come down and get them myself.
- Romana (10/5): - Personeel is heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam
- Emanuela (8/5): - La camera era bella, spaziosa e pulita.
- Rosemarie (8/5): -
- Anna (10/5): -
- Dawson (9/5): Comfortable - comfortable room. Everything you need. Great breakfast choice. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Ezenwa C. (6/5): Awful breakfast - Staff, the facilities in the room (bed, bigger screen with enough channels). The breakfast was VERY POOR, SINFUL and ATROCIOUS. An insult to the term "buffet" as everything was microwaved (I guess). For a city like Birmingham, one would expect a breakfast that caters for non pork consuming clients. Literally 4 hot items was unacceptable for the money paid. This is the only reason I wouldn't be returning. Also, the rooms have small windows that didn't open.
Pochissima frutta
- carol (6/5): Disappointed compared to broad st branch, - Good location as easy access to tram and traveling around Birmingham Breakfast wasn’t good, sausages dry overcooked, only one coffee machine so everyone queued, run out of bread. Beans and eggs luke warm despite being busy and them adding more. Bed really hard feel I need a hip replacement! Staff during day were welcoming and friendly. Evening staff not very happy we wanted a drink at the bar during hours.
- Anurag (7/5): -
- Alexandra (10/5): - Everything. Staff. Food . Conditions. Everything. Absolutely stunning
- Sheran (8/5): Crammed breakfast area - I liked that it was very clean throughout the hotel.
Friendly staff, always happy to help. I think breakfast is a bit too busy for the size of the hotel it was very cramped.
The area for coffee should be moved away from the food area.
When busy it becomes very crammed, and many people waiting in a line which is in the way of the door and access of people leaving with their breakfast
I think lack of staff showed as the tables were not cleared and cleaned ready for the next lot
- Amy (6/5): - Location and welcoming staff The rooms were insanely hot and dry and the lifts were some trouble
- Samantha (6/5): -
- Nordia (6/5): -
- Gurvinder (10/5): -
- pat (10/5): -
- DIMITRIOS (8/5): -
- William (9/5): Great value for money on a Sunday night - Location, breakfast and room were all great. proximity to train a bonus
- Alison (10/5): Great stay - Staff were friendly
The room was spacious and clean
The price of drinks were reasonable The 24hr snack option was vague The choice was very limited and pricey
- sandra (8/5): - Staff were really lovely, very relaxed , helpful, nothing a problem. The bed was uncomfortable ( way to hard ) tram line noisy , I did request a quiet room
. No bathroom vanity mirror which made it difficult to apply makeup, no working light bulb at desk (205) but all other facilities good
- Dario (6/5): -
- Hester (8/5): -
- Ivan (8/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): Overall happy with hotel and location. Would stay there again. - Located next to St Paul's Tram Stop, easy access to city centre. Easy walk 15/20 mins to City Centre or
IET Birmingham. Room/Bed/Breakfast as expected from IHG Hampton brand. Breakfast a bit limited, particularly cereal options.
