• Tiger (4/5): Definitely will stay somewhere else - The location was ok. The beds were ok to sleep in. The staff was good when i left some items. They did not call me i happen to stop by for a charger left in the room. The breakfast was ok. The pool was horrible. our eyes were dry and burned when we got splashed. there was no towels.

• Paula (3/5): Dissatisfied when someone false advertises - Left too early to participate in the breakfast We stayed here because there was airport shuttle offered. I even put in a request in advance online when I booked the room. When we arrived we were told that the shuttle was full at that time for “crew” members. We scrambled to find a ride to the airport. The service that picked us up said the same thing happened to someone else the week before. Do not offer a service that you do not have.

Need one ice machine to supplement the in-room ice makers. Some of them are too slow to provide ice, especially since they are off until you turn them on. At one time I stayed in this hotel for about $50/night. It was over $200/night now and the value isn't there for me anymore.

• qaxalot (4/5): Poor hotel maintenance/operation, injury occurred - Overview: guest slipped and injured in room, and hospitalized (no bath mats or sufficient slip resistance in tub); incorrect room types; room not cleaned on check in; room not cleaned on their schedule; poor supplies in kitchen and bathroom; poor washer/dryer operation; poor cleaning in common areas. A positive was the staff. Emily at the front desk was helpful and friendly. Appears the hotel is severely understaffed. These comments have already been sent to the hotel's manager. - Rooms assigned were not the ones I'd reserved. Hotel's info didn't match what was on the website/reservation. - Rooms were not clean upon check in (dirty towels, dirty dishes in dishwasher, greasy counters) - Breakfast supplies ran low during our (extended) stay, and we were told they were awaiting food deliveries - Kitchens were not equipped with dishwashing liquid or sponges (that was a first in my experience staying in suite hotels). If you wanted dishwashing liquid, you could purchase it at the front desk. - Staff stated rooms are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, but one room wasn't cleaned on the Monday one of our party was there. She had to ask for cleaning. - Washers didn't wring out water sufficiently. Dryers were inconsistent in drying (heat levels were off). - The rooms have tub/showers. There is a very faint texturing in the glazing on the tub bottom, but not enough to prevent slips. The tubs do not have slip strips in them. They also do not provide tub mats (apparently guests had been taking them). So there is little to prevent guests from falling. The water in the hotel is softened, so that makes soap more slippery. One of our party slipped and fell in the tub, was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Found to have 4 broken ribs. Had to stay in the hospital 4 days, had to make alternate plans to return home (not cleared to fly home). - The common areas were not adequately cleaned. I spotted the same piece of stray cereal on the floor. in different locations, the entire 4 days of my stay.
• R7173TRdavidm (8/5): Close to Airport - Your hotel was great. Everything was very clean. The only issue that we encountered was when we checked in at 4:00 pm October 2nd. We asked about the airport shuttle service (the main reason for selecting your hotel was that the shuttle service was listed on your site) and she said they did not offer shuttles to the airport. I said that I saw it on the site and that is why we chose the hotel. She then huffed and replied "oh sometimes we borrow it from the other hotel" pointing to the hotel next door. I then asked if we could "borrow it" from the hotel next door. She then went on the computer and booked it for us. We were very confused by her information and attitude in helping us. We then walked over to the other hotel to see if they had our reservation. They could not have been nicer and confirmed we were on the list but said the shuttle always goes to both hotels. She had no idea why we were told they did not offer service. When the shuttle picked us up it had Mainstay on the bus. Still confused by the front desk girl.

• Wanderlust5678 (8/5): Oh Jackson!!! - We arrived just prior to strong winds, picked up rental car & got an early check in @ Mainstay Suites in Rapid City. I got a great “end of summer” rate on this suite. The manager, Jackson, was great, got us checked into our suite early & even got us an extra fan for our room. All of the staff were very friendly & helpful. Very convenient location - about 20 minutes from airport, lots of dining options nearby, downtown Rapid City & all major attractions (Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park) were easily accessible from here. The suite was perfect for us & it was great to have a sofa plus the small kitchen with full size refrigerator & ice maker, etc. Dishes, silverware, dish towels, toaster, coffee maker are provided. Bedding was very comfortable, shower water temp & pressure was good. Closet space, chest of drawers, & bathroom vanity cabinet provided good storage. Housekeeping on Monday & Thursday was enough for us. Breakfast included cereal, instant oatmeal, pastries, muffins, yogurt, boiled eggs, toast, peanut butter & jelly, juices. Coffee & creamer was available 24/7. Snacks & other small items were available for purchase at the front desk. On site laundry was available as well as exercise room & pool (didn’t use any of these). Parking was OK & it was free. I would definitely stay here again. The area & accommodations felt safe & were comfortable. I like that the suite had both a deadbolt lock & safety latch & was quiet.
• MICHAEL (10/5): - The place was well maintained, clean and the rooms were very large. The place is just outside of town, so there is no where you can walk to. BUT everything was a short drive away. Very close to Mount Rushmore and the Bad lands. Because we had a suit with a full size refig, dishwasher, sink and a stove they never made up our room. I guess that was expected? The breakfast was basic with hard boiled eggs, bread, bagels, fruit, juice, coffee, tea. I would recommeng.

Love the big rooms and friendly staff although the night staff when we came back and checked in needs to dress appropriately!! was wearing holes in her shirt no bra it wasn’t pretty and very unprofessional. I work at a Quality Inn and Casino and I know that our staff would not get by with that!!!!

Rooms need upgrading, couch very uncomfortable, all furniture pretty rough looking in room and other common areas, TV could be bigger for suite and lamps etc..no USB charging options, (we do alot of traveling this is pretty standard). • Joshua (7/5): We could have done better. - If you’re looking for a quiet hotel with helpful staff you may want to look elsewhere. Staff were nonexistent except for the guy watching the breakfast bar like a hawk. Funny that the garbage in the breakfast area didn’t get dumped once during our stay. Rude, almost nonexistent staff. Beds were wore out and no ice machines.

• Joseph (4/5): - We had 2 rooms, both rooms had funky smells. One rooms bathroom had black mold in the sinks and in the tub surrounding as well peeling wall covering. We also arrived earlier than expected and asked to have an early check in and we were told by the staff at the front desk the rooms were not ready. So we ended up finding something local to do until about a hour before the check in time (3pm) and was told that only one room was ready and the other room was having the ice maker in the fridge repaired. Finally we got to check in and settled in our rooms. Finding out that either of the rooms ice makers do not work and once we asked the staff member about this and the mold we where told there are no other rooms available so to no vacancy. For the price I paid for these rooms I would expect more than what was offered. I will never in my future ever book this hotel or any other hotel related to this. This was by far the worst hotel we ever stayed at
• Elke (7/5): Goed hotel, moeilijke airportshuttle - Het hotel zelf was erg goed! Het bed was ontzettend comfortabel en het personeel was erg vriendelijk! Het boeken van de gratis airport shuttle was ontzettend moeilijk. Het hotel is enkel telefonisch bereikbaar, waardoor je extra kosten maakt als je vanuit buiten de VS moet bellen. Ook kan de taxi pas 24 uur voor verblijf geregeld worden. Dit staat nergens vermeld op de website. Op het vliegveld zelf ging het bijna fout; de geboekte taxi was wat later waardoor een andere taxi de kans greep om zich voor te doen als mijn geboekte airport shuttle en ik bijna afgezet zou worden. Gelukkig belde mijn echte taxichauffeur op tijd zodat ik uit de andere taxi kon stappen. Echter was dit geen fijne ervaring voor een soloreiziger die net in een ander land aankomt. Ik kreeg ook geen informatie mbt hoe de taxi eruit zag en waar ik ergens moest wachten. De taxichauffeur zelf was ontzettend aardig! Ik heb verder alleen maar lof voor hem.

• Jessica (8/5): - It was a fine place to stay. Nothing too fancy, but allowed us a good nights sleep. Kids enjoyed the breakfast too. Loved it had a pool.
• Shane (4/5): So-so - It wasn't very clean. The beds were super uncomfortable. Very outdated.
• D (4/5): This place was not worth the $400 I paid for - I like the pool for the children but there was no hot tub. We had no WiFi when we were there the front desk lady didn’t do anything about it she seemed kinda annoyed about me saying their WiFi didn’t work. There was still dirty towels in our room and we had no room service the time we were there they didn’t clean our room and the breakfast was not the best it was just boiled eggs and cereal.
• DBsputer (10/5): Good place to stay - Clean room, nice employees, breakfast hours need to be extended on weekends. Swimming area nice. Good amenities in room
• Jim (4/5): No shuttle as advertised - The only reason I booked this hotel was for the airport shuttle. It is listed as available via the filter on the Hotels.com app. When checking in they stated they do not have a shuttle. So, I paid $60+ dollars in Uber fees.

• brittanydO4964EV (10/5): Clean and large - This place was Super clean and had a nice large room. We did find a vape pen under the couch, but I can see how cleaning would miss that. We only found it when putting the pull out couch back into position. Friendly staff. They could have a slightly healthier/better breakfast selection

• Kjersten (10/5): Definitely keeping on the list for future stays! - The room was nice and big - comfortably fit 2 adults, 2 teens, and a preteen without feeling like we were on top of each other. The kitchenette was lovely and I appreciated that they included some basic dishes so we didn’t have to eat out for every meal. The pool was so cold and the lights in the pool area were very dim.
• jessicakH1835FM (10/5): Great Airport Hotel - We stayed one night at the Mainstay Suites and had a great stay. Check in was easy and the rooms were large. It was also quiet, the beds were comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. Sickies Garage is right across from the hotel and is an easy few minutes walk. We had dinner there and enjoyed it. The hotel breakfast does not have any hot items but cold items included cereal, yogurt, bagels and danishes. A huge plus with this hotel is that it also offers an airport shuttle. The shuttle was on time and a convenient way to get to the airport. When you check in, inquire about the availability so you can get scheduled. The shuttle is shared with the Cambria hotel next door and seating can be limited. We've stayed at many airport hotels throughout our travels, some good and some bad, but we would definitely stay here again.

• George (2/5): - When you are awakened at 3:00am to fire alarms going off it doesn’t make for a pleasant experience. Front desk staff was completely silent during the entire incident and we were finally told by firefighters that it was safe to go back in to our rooms….That was after an hour!
• Bentley (9/5): Superb - The staff was very nice and the room was very clean and comfortable.
• Vanessa (10/5): Birthday getaway - It was a cute little suite. it accommodated our sons birthday.

• Koehler (1/5): Uncomfortable and unaccommodating. - Nothing The air conditioner didn’t work. There were no fans that we could have used. Had no other rooms available and were unable to accommodate a relaxing stay. The breakfast was grab and go.
• Ives (5/5): It was alright. - The staff was nice. Glad it had a pool When we got to our room, the sink in the bathroom was dirty and the plug was stuck. It took the maintenance guy 2 days to get it fixed. I thought they would have switched us to a different room, but they did not.

• Nicole (8/5): Family trip - Two night stay over on way to NP. Nice it had mini kitchen to make meals.
• Ashley (6/5): - No house keeping was offered, the AC was out and they kept making excuses on when it would get fixed. They dont offer house keeping over the weekend, you have to take your own trash out and get clean towles from the front desk if they have them. The breakfast was a sorry excuss for continental breakfast. The staff was rude and lazy.
• wanderingslife (4/5): Terrible stay - I’m not sure what room everyone else got, but we definitely had a different experience. Maybe we got the trash room because we used loyalty points to book it? The bathroom is gross with mold in the caulk and the bathroom walls literally crumbling along with the entire bottom of the door rotting…we didn’t even shower the bathroom was so gross. The fridge barely keeps anything even a little cold let alone freezing an ice pack. The ice maker made 4 ice cubes in 8 hours and there is no ice machine. The kitchen floor is sticky as is the table. If you’re staying longer than a night or want to make your own meals, be sure to bring your own cooking utensils; our room had nothing other than food crumbs in the drawer. The bedding is worn and thin, LIKE THE WALLS. We can hear everything around us. As I type this I’m trying to get my 5 year old to sleep after a very long travel day and all we hear is LOUD music from the outdoor patio of the restaurant across the way, people talking in the room text to us (we can hear their actual conversation about what time to leave for Mt Rushmore in the morning and will the fog burn off) and what I can assume are kids jumping off the bed above us. At 10:30pm (went on well past midnight). Breakfast was sparse at 7:30am. Plain continental breakfast, nothing hot. No one stocking anything. We got the last bagel and some peanut butter and that was it. Super disappointing stay after 14 hours in the car. I was going to add a star because the gal at check in was polite but having just had the worst sleep of my life before another very long travel day, it’s not worth it.
• Joan (10/5): - Water hot for showers. Beds comfortable. Frig cold, ice maker worked well. Quiet. Clean. Would stay here again. Highly recommend!

• Tayler (6/5): - The room was nice, but had an odd smell to it. Had to get an air freshener to freshen it up. It is also listed as breakfast included. There is no hot food besides bagels and toast (if their stocked- same for drinks). We stayed for 4 nights and each day the quantity of the "breakfast" got less and less. We would have been fine planning to get our own food, etc if it hadn't been advertised that there was breakfast or if both of our stove burners in the room worked.. The pool was also chilly for younger kids. Probably won't stay again.
• Sandra (1/5): No room service for four day day there were several items that needed attention number one. The toilet seat was very loo - it was clean and the layout was good and the location was good we stayed four nights and didn’t get any room service no clean towels no straightening of the bed and no trash removal
• Gerilyn (10/5): Exceptional - Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. With the couch and room being larger, it was nice to be able to relax and visit with family after spending the day on a long bus tour of the area attractions.

• Kristen (2/5): - Felt very uneasy seeing a Tattooed man with Bear cans sleepin in the stairs one doorway away from where my family of 7 stayed. Between two families I traveled with we all Checked into a dirty rooms. Boogers on the wall. Trash and stains inside pull out couch. Kitchen utensils unusable. Broken kurig in room. Room key stopped workin daily. Housecleaning unavailable every day. Had to go down to front desk to borrow their vacuum to do my own cleaning since I have toddlers. The only thing I enjoyed was the two bright smiles from the two front desk ladies. I have stayed with mainstay in the past, considered it a safe and affordable Choice. I will never again choose them for my family travels.
