- Steve B (8/5): Good option in Taupo - Very nice resort hotel right on the lake with heated pool and hot tub which were both lovely to use. Neither were busy during our stay. The rooms were a decent size and were well equipped. We had a room with a garden view which had no particular view but i believe this was the cheapest room so choose lake view if views are important. Overall a good place to stay in Taupo. WiFi was weak/not working for all of our 3 night stay so we had to use mobile 4G instead.

On the morning of check out I felt uncomfortable leaving my room because the cleaning staff were having a very loud meeting outside the room and I could hear every word and every telling off etc. I finally had to leave and it was really awkward walking passed them all. Not very professional at all.

- dmwinship (10/5): What could be better than THIS? - Jenny, the front desk/manager, was very helpful with side benefits for my local interests, the place was stocked with everything I would need, and more. One of the potential difficulties of a resort like this is the noise and chaos some families present to other guests. Reef Resort does a wonderful job of managing all that and despite the full house, I always felt I was there alone. I hope I get a chance to return there someday.

- John (8/5): Very enjoyable and we would have no hesitation is recommending - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, unfortunately we did not get a Lake View but it was a short walk to the Lake with direct access from the resort and we spent most of our time outdoors anyway. The thermal pools were amazing after long days exploring and hiking around Taupo. Taupo centre is a good walk away but again we love to walk so not an issue. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful and ensured everything was clean and fresh pool towels available. Our air conditioning was not the greatest however this is a small complaint and to be honest we did not enquire with the hotel to see if it could made cooler.

Bed was a bit firm and pull out couch was pretty uncomfortable for an adult. Would book an apartment on the waterfront next time if we were in a group, as these are really lovely and had a million dollar view.

The fresh thermal pools were easily the best we’ve enjoyed—beautifully maintained, clean, and never overcrowded, which made them perfect for relaxing with the family. The resort itself was spotless and well cared for, and the hosts were absolutely fantastic,friendly and welcoming. It’s rare to find a place that gets all the details right. Without a doubt, this is one of the best places we’ve stayed in Taupō, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to others. Nothing negative to say :-)

- Megan (9/5): Really enjoyed the luxuries of this stay. - Beautifully presented, bed was really comfortable, all facilities you would need in room with heated outdoor pool and spa in room. Its location on the lake was close to lakeside walking path and close to the many eateries in the town centre. The parking was a little tricky at times with a larger car.
