Guest Reviews
- Sarah (10/5): - Lovely place, great breakfast, very well presented. Right in the centre and walking distance for shops and resturants. Highly recommend
- Joan (6/5): - This property is part of 3 buildings: a hotel, and two b&p’s each with guest rooms. The 1669 has 4 guest rooms, two up one flight of stairs and two up a narrow second flight. Ours was two flights up; fortunately we had small suitcases. This would be unsuitable for guests with large luggage or mobility issues. The room itself was clean and interesting, although there were no drawers. There were hangers. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good. We had two issues: despite being on the top floor, it was noisy in the morning: trash trucks, kids going to school etc. The other issue was mosquitoes. The proprietors need to deal with old windows that are difficult to close and persist in finding solutions.
The proprietors were helpful and kind.
If we could, we’d rate a 3.5 overall, but we’d probably choose differently next time.
- Jill (8/5): - Even though room was historical, it could have been cleaner. Lamps cleaned out, cobwebs in the rafters.
- Raymond (10/5): - Building architecture fit perfectly with surroundings. Breakfast was excellent, with full choices.
- Maria (8/5): - A charming historical property with a good, modern washroom, in a great location. No complaints except that more information should be provided to guests about the property and amenities since there is no front desk.
- Angela (10/5): - A lovely, quaint and historic property with a delicious breakfast. Great location — very walkable and close to a parking garage.
- Glenda (10/5): - Loved this 1669 hotel, room view was great, extra extra long beds, nice sky lights, large room. One drawback was the stairs ended less than 1.5’ from the room door…. Not deep enough to be comfortable while unlocking the door with out stepping off down the stairs.
- M J (10/5): Unique location - Fantastic location, smack in the middle of the picturesque town of Bruges and yet very quiet at night.
- Andrew (10/5): - Fantastic property in a brilliant location - if you book the garage too that is fantastic as well, a short walk away but large and safe.
- Aaron (10/5): - The host was very welcoming. Our room was spacious and clean. The breakfasts were substantial and delicious. The location was excellent for walking about. We would happily stay there again!
- Dan (10/5): - Great stay, very peaceful despite being very central. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was great too! Highly recommend!
- Jayden (8/5): - Fantastically located close to all the main parts of Bruge. Beautiful old building and fantastic breakfast
- Laura Os (10/5): The best option - The best place to stay, charming room.
- Remi (10/5): - The room "Roof with a View" is beautiful, rustic looking with a lot of charm and all modern amenities. Breakfast is great with ample choice. Hosts are gracious and attentive.
- Eva (10/5): - The 1669 Bed and Breakfast was such a treat. Our room was in the front overlooking the street. We had a king size bed, claw foot tub and shower.
We ate the breakfast both of the mornings we were there and it was delicious. This place is conveniently located near the train. It is also easy walking to all of the sites. I’d highly recommend.
- Sophie (10/5): - Really charming, stylish and relaxed property. Beautiful building and very nicely decorated. A beautiful location for our wedding anniversary.
- Leslie (10/5): Location! - Bed was not very comfortable. However, they were so helpful with a special request we had and the breakfast was great. Location can't be beat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Lovely stay, great room - spacious, comfortable, nice shower, great view! Tasty breakfast, allowed to leave bags while exploring Bruges. Would stay here again. Great location.
- Stanislav (10/5): Very good location - Really enjoyed our 2 night stay here, very convenient location short walk to the main square and close to a car park. We had roof with the view room and it was very nice and spacious
- PATRICK (8/5): - Great location. Toilet sink did not work. Need to supply more coffee pods
- Linda (10/5): - Wonderful stay - perfect location - loved the peacefulness!!!
:)
- Samantha (10/5): - We had a short stay in the ‘room with a view’ and it was great. We wanted to stay somewhere with character and couldn’t have asked for better. It is a small and cosy b&b. Staff are friendly and always available. Breakfast was excellent with lovely coffee and fresh juices. Location is 10/10 central but just outside of the tourist traps.
- Philippa (10/5): - A beautiful, quirky old house by the Cathedral, in a quiet location.
We had the 'Roof with a View' room at the top of the building which was pristine, comfortable and well equipped for a weekend stay.
Breakfast, served in no.15 next door was great.
The only slight downside was the fact that the door to our room opened straight onto the (rather steep) stairs down, and we could have done with better handrails in case we fell!
I would strongly advise against taking this room if you are shaky on your legs, or walk with a stick.
Apart from that, an excellent place to stay - friendly and accommodating staff and a great vibe.
I would recommend it.
- Casey (10/5): - Clean, central and with a spacious room. Tea and coffee facilities in room and shared spaces. Staff were friendly and helpful. The property had lots of character and was in a great location for exploring Bruges. There was no safe in the room which would have been a welcome addition but everything else was lovely. The breakfast was very tasty.
- Claire (10/5): - Everything was exceptional from the staff, the breakfast, the quality of the room to the convenience of the location. We could walk everywhere we wanted to within 10 minutes with very little disturbing noise from outside.
The only note I have for parents with small children; this is a very old building so every footstep, every door closure, every word spoken from the hallways were heard clearly and audibly. It made getting our infant down a little challenging. This is not a criticism of the property but just something to keep in mind for parents.
- Kevin (10/5): - This property is all that we dreamed of. It is centrally located in the Beautiful historic city of Bruges. We could only visit 2 of 7 Churches there but they were both truly outstanding. Our window overlooked the entrance to a Church. The hotel was updated with a clear sence of maintaining the feelings of history around us. The staff and breakfast were excellent. Highly recommend. Kevin
- Thomas (10/5): Most Authentic Hotel In Bruges 100% - We stayed in the Salvador’s Suite, overlooking the Cathedral, so authentic and perfect. The staff were amazing and breakfast was brilliant. Would recommend.
- Matthew (10/5): Perfect - Great place, 4th time we've stayed, always friendly and perfect location.
- Eric (4/5): - Like a fairytale! Beautiful all around, from the location to amenities and service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Roof with a view was something special. Romantic with amazing view. Bring mosquito repellant though. Yes i know it's Belgium!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - we stayed in the attic. Amazing view of the church. Wonderful romantic room.
- Emma (8/5): great stay - Great location very clean and lovely style. It would be great if water and tea and coffee making facilities were in the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very traditional old age building, with spacious well kept rooms. Lovely hosts and nice breakfasts.
- Michael (8/5): Great choice in Bruges! - Location is fantastic and the building itself is appealing and updated with modern amenities. We had Salvatore's Suite which is oriented toward the front of the building with nice views of the cathedral and street below.
Staff was very friendly and allowed us to store our luggage and check in early.
Sheets were not changed prior to our arrival. One of the pillows on our bed had a little blood on it so we just didn't use that pillow. It wasn't clear who to contact if we had an issue and we were busy exploring the area so we didn't make a big fuss about it. Otherwise the place was very clean inside the rooms, with a slight mildew smell in the common areas, but this is to be expected in a building that is ~350 years old.
Breakfast is offered but we didn't have it. Coffee is available 24/7, but both times I went for a cup there were no cups to be found.
Would definitely recommend to others despite these small complaints.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wonderful location. Pleasant owner, unique building and decor. Very unusual experience in the nice way.
- Ronnie (10/5): - The location is great the building has character staff were very welcoming breakfast was a good start to the day
- Susan (10/5): Perfect B&B in the Center of Brueges - Extremely charming with an amazing location. The owner is a delight and the breakfast is quite tasty. Our room was massive and super comfortable. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Old world charm with modern amenities! We loved our roof with a view room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is in an amazing location, the service was very friendly, and the breakfast was wonderful. The room we had was very spacious and had an incredible view of the adjacent church which cannot be beat.
It is well understood that historic properties have their drawbacks simply due to their age: poor air conditioning, dusty beams, creaky floors, etc and those are all to be expected - but there are a few things that should not be lacking regardless of building age. Firstly the towels need to go - there is no reason to have thin, worn, old towels. The furniture also needs to be reviewed because our bedside furniture was originally white but hardly stained and the headboard was dirty. Overall the positives of this property outweigh the negatives but these details need to be reviewed because they are not what customers want to see.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our second visit here and it is just fantastic! The room is fantastic and the location is brilliant. Highly recommended!
- Brian (10/5): Great place to stay - Huge room with a view of Bruges’s San Salvador Cathedral. Great breakfast and a short walk from train station. No a/c but an awesome window onto the square.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room in the attic was fantastic; large and lofty with the old timber structure exposed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful room, large with lots of light. Nice bathtub as well. Breakfast was great and coffee/tea available all day. Bikes to rent were perfect for seeing the sights. Excellent location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was BEAUTIFUL. The hotel itself was perfect walking distance from the canals, marketplace, and best photo backdrops.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a lovely property with a great hostess. Being a historic building in a square, you have people staring all the time if you are on that first floor with all the windows. Comfy surroundings inside.
- chuck (10/5): - the property had a great location, staff was very helpful, breakfast was very good.Quaint ,clean place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in their Salvator's Suite on the first floor and were blown away by the beautiful room. The manager was incredibly friendly and welcoming and we were able to access our room early. Very big room with lovely bathroom and big comfortable bed.
Fab lighting system with built in music so we opted to have classical music as a backdrop to most of our stay. The thermostat is linked to a stunning gas fire which made for very cosy evenings.
Good breakfast shared with other guests was a really lovely start to our day.
Was absolutely delighted with the charm and attention to detail in this b&b, the perfect place for our wedding anniversary.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great period character.
Towels were thin and threadbare
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful old building which has been converted well. I have however been before and this time I thought it was looking grubby round the edges and in need of a coat of paint.
- Donald (8/5): - Great location. Close underground parking. Reasonable price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed in the Roof with a view. very lovely room. Excellent breakfast.Hired the bikes and had a great day for 20 Euros.
Would definitely recommend. Car park is 5 mins walk away and you can just leave your car there for the duration of your stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful property, wonderfully quiet but right in the midst of the historic centre of Bruges.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing location and unique property.
Think we picked one night where there was a local late night gathering and also the neighbours were moving out late at night which the traditional windows didn't block out the sound, but all in all a unique location.
Think we ended up in several photos as tourist took pictures of the property!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely B and B. Awesome location in the heart of Bruges. Breakfast was nice. Fresh croissants, eggs bacon, meats and cheese. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Train station is 10 min walk or bus stop 50ft from the B and B. I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great central location and lovely rooms. Had some difficulty checking in due to poor door speaker and the Manager being off-site. 5 minutes walk from the local car part at 8.70 euros per 24 hours and 5 minutes from the main square. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. You won't find anything better . Only one draw back . There's no coffee or tes making facilities in the room .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely property, excellent location.
Easy walk from the station and very close to all the main attractions.Very nice breakfast provided.
- Laura (10/5): Highly recommend, amazing B and B - This was the most amazing bed and breakfast. Owners super friendly and helpful. Room was beautiful and had a fire in it which was so cozy in the cold whether. Decorated beautifully, very clean and lovely view of the church facing the B and B. Breakfast was great and had a good variety. Very relaxed and felt really comfortable. Close to the centre of Bruges and the Christmas markets. Short walk from train station. Loved this trip and would highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a superb B&B with all the feeling of a quiet hotel close to the centre of the city.
The decor is beautifully done and the staff welcoming. I even received a phone call while we were on our way to Bruges to let me know that I could check in to our room much earlier than agreed.
I loved this place and will stay here when we visit the city again!
- JK (8/5): - Great location. Attractively decorated. Good amenities. Simple but nice breakfast. Our room was close to the street and had some street noises at night.
- Leanne (10/5): - Beautiful B&b in the centre of old town, we loved the location and the quality of the Hotel itself
- Verified traveler (10/5): Zip trip to Bruges - Excellent central location...clean and well kept, owners unobtrusive but available if needed and very helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely little hotel with an excellent location. - Lovely hotel. We stayed in the room with a view which was a good size. The manager was very friendly, and put on a good breakfast in the mornings. Our favourite bit was the location as all the sights were very close by as well as the train station which made it a very easy stay.
- Katie (10/5): Lovely historic B&B right in the centre of Bruges - Lovely B&B, in a very beautiful building. Breakfast was really nice and we were able to rent bikes from the B&B directly to explore the city and the surrounding area.
- Cody (10/5): - Amazing stay in a beautiful B&B right in the heart of the historic district in Bruges. Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great B&B - Great bed and breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quick trip - Lovely place to stay in an excellent location. Breakfast buffet was great and check in and out smooth.
- Ashley (10/5): - This was a fantastic little b&b that we would absolutely stay at again. It's a short taxi ride from the train station, and a great location in general. It's literally right in front of a church (I think it's called Saint Salvator, and it's beautiful and definitely worth going in to visit). The site staff were extremely helpful and communicative and even though we arrived late they made sure we had access to keys and could settle in ok.
We stayed in the Loft Room at the very top. The room itself was adorable, clean, and comfortable. There was even a small bottle of wine waiting for us! The large bathtub was so luxurious.
Breakfast is at the inn right next door, which is owned by the same people. It's a lovely little spread of eggs, bacon, yogurt, granola, and some pastries, as well as tea and coffee. It's just the right thing you need to get your day in Bruges started, and it's included with the price.
Things to note:
- The building does not have a lift, just wooden stairs. It was just my husband and I, and for our purposes the room accessibility was just fine.
-If you're in the Loft the ceiling angles in to form a triangle, so if you're tall (like my husband is) you might want to watch your head :)
- When you check out you will need to pay a city tax on the order of 2 euro per person per day; this is normal for certain places in Europe.
Everything about Bruges is delightful and you're going to enjoy yourself, and if you stay at 1669 b&b you won't regret it.
- Jacqui (10/5): Fantastic Place to Stay in Brugge - A lovely place to stay in the heart of Brugge.
We could not have asked for a nicer experience and was made welcome from when we first arrived on the Friday evening to leaving on the Monday morning.
Thank you for looking after us so well and we will certainly stay with you again.
- William (8/5): - The BnB was absolutely amazing, the room was clean the bed was comfy. We loved the classical music piped right into the room. The fireplace and the look of the place was just astonishing!! The only thing was the breakfast, when we stay in a BnB we expect a breakfast. Not just two containers sitting downstairs of scrambled eggs and bacon. Cold cereal and orange juice. We have stayed at numerous BnBs and they all had fresh breakfast made as you arrive at the table and very warm and cozy. This just seemed a little cold. So if breakfast makes your stay at a BnB then maybe not for you. Other than that we highly recommend the place. There's plenty of delicious breakfast food in town.
- David (6/5): Lovely independent hotel - Ok this is not easy as the hotel in some respects amazing and in others needs sorting. Right position, breakfast, style of room all great but it is not everyone’s liking the bathroom effectively in the room and the toilet virtually the same. Stayed 2 nights and never did find the loo light switch also the towels are so thin and tired it would cost little to upgrade these. No discernible hanging space or little if any draw space. However building is stunning and breakfast good - please invest in some basic strong breakfast tea.
- Lesley (8/5): - Good location. Fiendly staff, strange lighting system, few niggles i.e. no toiletries door handle broken but all sorted when advised. Lovely breakfast. free tea and coffee available all day. Lovely architecture, a few little extra luxuries could have made it superb.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Want to give it full stars but... - We loved the location, close to center of old town but enough out of way to be peaceful and quiet. Loved the quaint little room (the loft) with claw tub. The staff were welcoming at checking us in early for our travels and breakfast the next day was good. I really like this little place...however the problem was with bugs. Not sure if it was mosquito or something else that got us, but both hubby and I had little red bites all over the next day...hubby spent most of the night turning on lights after hearing the buzzing to get another one, but this got tiring very quickly. We traveled in Nov so did not think this would be a problem. Not sure if the windows were secure (seemed to be to us) or where the little buggers were getting in but I would caution using the loft and just stay downstairs. Also note the bed is 2 singles pushed together, come morning I was almost on the floor between the mattresses.
- stephanie (10/5): Mini break - Beautiful little B n B practically perfect in every way !
- Luke (10/5): Perfect B&B - Perfect B&B in the perfect location! Could not fault the room at all. Would definitely recommend this b&b! Big comfy king sized bed, breakfast just what you need and a short stroll from all the main bars and places to see! Not mentioning the fire place and big bath tub and separate shower which you get! Passed all expectations and that was after reading all of the 5 star reviews!
- Grant (10/5): Beautiful B&B in a perfect location. - Beautiful B&B in a perfect location about ten mins from the railway station and about five mins walk from the main Markt square in Bruges. This is a lovely old house and the Room With A View is the perfect spot at the top of the building. I’d go back there in a shot - and I’m only just home!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great bed and breakfast - Beautiful city and wonderful bed and breakfast. Location was walking distance from city center and train station.
- Sammy (8/5): Very stylish annex - The room is very beautiful and spacious. Only complaints were bed was two singles pushed together and my side was very hard, but duvet and pillows were lovely high quality ones. Also we noticed a bad smell emanating from what we worked out to be a small grate in bathroom floor. Once covered it seemed to stop. Maybe because it's such an old building. View from window of the church - lovely. Located very central and easy to find. Breakfast was amazing and we rented the bikes for a day for only 20 Euro for both which is great value and had a lovely day cycling to damme along the canals. The towels were super soft too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Loved it. - Beautiful room, great hosts, and an amazing breakfast. Would absolutely recommend as an alternative to bland hotel rooms.
- john (10/5): - Fabulous place. Will only stay there when we visit Bruges.
- Xuan (6/5): Never again! - We were bitten by bedbugs!!! Nobody works in the hotel or house and we could not leave our luggage before we checked in. You can hear your neighbors very much too. We chose this B&B because it is an old nice house but bitten by bedbugs, we do not recommend it to anyone at all even though it has good location.
- Michael (10/5): Highly Recommended! - We stayed in the Salvador room, which was large, beautiful, and exceeded our expectations. It has a beautiful view of a church right from your window. This is a small establishment, but the staff were only a buzz way. Breakfast was in beautiful lounge with fresh juice, nice food, etc. Would recommend to anyone!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel close to the centre of Bruges. - Exactly as the pictures showed a cosy well run hotel. We were welcomed warmly and although I felt there could have been some drawer space the facilities were fine. The hotel was situated easily within walking distance of the attractions of central Bruges. The weekend was very productive travelling the Eurostar for the first time to stay in such a quaint place.
- Scott (10/5): Beautiful Bruges - Top notch. Clean and quiet, comfortable and elegant. Wonderful breakfast and friendly service. Can't recommend highly enough.
- rick (8/5): Close to city centre - This b+b is great
We had the loft room which was big spacious and comfortable
Very large bed
The only down fall was the shower which is very small
- Ren and Nic (10/5): Excellent B&B in great location - We loved the location and the room was lovely, really spacious. Breakfast was great too. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in Bruges.
- Ginge (10/5): Quiet, convenient, comfortable and friendly - We enjoyed meeting other travelers at breakfast and sharing trip info with them.
- Martin (8/5): Good choice - Ideal location - very central (be aware you WILL hear church bells!). Friendly service, excellent breakfast. Beautiful building with many historic features. The shower in the Loft room is NOT very user-friendly - would recommend booking a room with walk-in shower instead.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Beautiful old inn close to Bruges center. - We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the 1669 Bed and Breakfast. The inn is perfectly situated for walking to all of the popular sites and is beautifully appointed. The inn is also spotless with an air of just calm, relaxation, and privacy that is sometimes hard to find in a BnB. Breakfast was also a pleasant suprise and included eggs and bacon as well as croissants, toast, juice and coffee. Karin and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Bruges itself is just a perfect European old city; so romantic and with beautiful sights everywhere. We walked everywhere and really enjoyed the dinner recommendations. We loved our visit here!
- Keleigh (10/5): Amazing Experience! - The hotel was charming, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and had something for everyone's tastes, all while being presented exquisitely in their beautiful breakfast rooms. Cereals, tea, and coffee were kept on hand all day for guests to make use of if they desired which was extremely considerate. Everything, from site seeing, shopping, and restaurants, was only a short walk away. We found some inexpensive and safe parking at the Zilverstraat just around the corner with the help of the staff. The staff was very accommodating and graciously helped with any of our questions. They also checked in to make sure our rooms were satisfactory and if we needed anything not already presented, of course, in this regard, we were already extremely taken care of!
It is evident that great pride is taken in their establishment, both in the hotel and with caring for clients, and we were treated phenomenally. I would recommend this place to anyone but especially to someone looking for that certain aesthetic of refined rustic, historic charm befitting of Bruges, balanced with all the comforts and cleanliness of modernity.
We loved it so much, we stayed an extra night and will return there next time we're in Bruges!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent location opposite cathedral - Lovely room although only heating was gas fire which came on and off during night to keep room warm was noisy. Expected toiletries at "posh" b&b.
- Mindy (8/5): Lovely historical building - Lovely, historical B & B. tasty breakfast with friendly staff. Centrally located.
Please note that local tax was not included in our hotel price. Personally when we receive confirmation that our room incompletely paid for, this is what we expect.
- Edana (10/5): Cozy and Centrally located. Great experience! - The room was cozy, spacious and felt like home away from home. The staff and breakfast were also great.
- Michael (10/5): Next to a beautiful cathedral - My wife and I stayed here and loved it! We are early 30's
- Ron (4/5): Try another hotel or Bed and Breakfast! - This Bed and Breakfast was very disappointing. The owners have moved to Canada and left a very nice lady in charge, but she seemed spread a bit thin as they have taken over the B & B next door as well as the hotel across the street. It is in a VERY busy neighborhood, the local bus runs under the bedroom window frequently, it's terribly noisy (from outside), and there are spotlights that shine one the building keeping the room lit up all night. We were told breakfast was served from 8:30 until 10:00, which is really late. We went to breakfast at 9:00 and found out it really started at 7:30 and it was not much more than a continental breakfast. The manager was extremely nice, the location is close to the sights of Bruges, the bedding linens were of good quality, but that's about all I can say that was nice about the accomodations. I would not stay there again and cannot recommend it to anyone who wants a nice breakfast and a quiet room.
- jackie (10/5): Comfortable and convenient b&b. Lovely staff. - Great stay, would go again.......................but I don't like compulsory slots in feedback quizzes
- Jacqueline (10/5): A very charming boutique B&B - A very charming boutique B&B. We had the attic bedroom which has lovely views over the surrounding roof-tops. The room was very comfortable with a roll top bath in the bedroom. There is a nice breakfast room which has tea/coffee making facilities. As it was low season we had breakfast in the next door property. There was a good selection of bread, pastries etc and the choice of cooked egg and bacon. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and we will certainly stay here again.
- James (10/5): Bruges for New Year - We very much enjoyed our stay for four nights over New Year at 1669 Bed and Breakfast. Our hosts were very obliging and friendly. We arrived early on the first day and they were happy to let us leave our luggage and even took it to our room for us for when we arrived. The room itself was beautiful with a lovely view out onto the cathedral square. I only have two small criticisms. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room - not sure if this is more of a British thing but it would be nice to have facilities available. Secondly, there was no storage for clothes in the room we stayed in. The room was in the attic so the walls were sloped but I'm sure it would be possible to squeeze in a small wardrobe somewhere or maybe a chest of drawers rather than guests having to live out of a suitcase or use the floor. I would definitely recommend this b&b to anyone looking for a relaxed informal stay.
- Naomi (10/5): Charming, great location, great proprietor! - This B&B is sooo romantic! We really loved our suite. We could hear footsteps above us, but everything else was so wonderful, we'd stay again in a heartbeat!
