Guest Reviews
- casey (8/5): - We booked a king room with a beach/bridge view the same day as check in. We arrived late at night and the area was poorly lit, and check in at our motel was actually next door at the neighboring facility (not a big deal, I assume it’s late in the season so they are condensing properties and staff). The check in “lobby” was pretty gross, dirty, and dated and had me nervous for the condition of our room but I was pleasantly surprised. While dated for sure, the room was big, clean, had updated hard flooring and cedar wall paneling. It had a nice clean smell and had everything we needed for a good nights sleep. The view was amazing. Would definitely stay again.
- Lawrence (2/5): - The bed was NOT MADE in the first room we were given. The second room air conditioner ran loud
- Gayla Dawn (4/5): - The place was nothing like described. Our door had a huge gap on top that you could see outside. We didn’t have a fitted sheet on the bed and we each had to use a sheet and blanket ti have enough to cover ourselves up. Very disappointed! Will never stay there again!
- Brittany (6/5): - The staff on this visit were very blah, they werent very helpful and over all just didnt give a darn about anything. The property was a bit more run down. Floor boards broken/pulling away from the wall, bathroom hinges were broken.
- Susan (4/5): - The hot water was not working at all. The office did not open until 9am according to the sign and we had to be on the road at 8am. Went to get leftovers out of the fridge and turns out that didn't work either. Cold shower and warm leftovers.
- April (8/5): - The property and room were clean, and the view was spectacular. Our bed was a bit uncomfortable, but not horrible. It was a little confusing because check in was at a different hotel. Our biggest complaint is how dark the parking lot is.
- Tim (10/5): - Great stay
- Eddy (8/5): - Bridgewiew and Beds were nice.
- Amy (2/5): - The sheet and towels were clean. As for the rest of the place, not really. Dirty fridges and microwaves. Under the beds were items from years past renters. Tried to remodel the property but doors did not even line up enough to lock the door. Putting flooring over a rotten floor does not count as a remodel. Dirty outside as well as inside. Staff was not very welcoming. Could not even get a password for the wifi. Pools looked dirty. Hot tub water was poop brown. Wall were paper thin. Could hear everything that the upstairs guest was doing! Dogs barking at night. Alarms going off in the middle of the night called the desk and they said "Hope it goes off soon". Do not come here. Pay extra and go somewhere nice.
- Joshua (8/5): - .
- Randy (6/5): - I was disappointed at first, turns out it was my fault, I wanted a jacuzzi room, I just looked at twelve different properties, and chose this one, Without RE-LOOKING, and booked, No Jacuzzi
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was nice except the kitchen area was dirty and the appliances were old and rusty. The pool was not clean enough to swim in.
Service as very good though.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great view of bridge, was upgraded to sunrise motels with private fire pits and nice beach
- Kimberly (10/5): - .
- John (8/5): - The pool was very dirty, thankfully it wasn’t hot. The room was OK, beautiful view.
- Maria Zenaida (10/5): View, comfort and accessibilty - We truly had a good stay except the TV - nothing to watch, no news and weather channels. But still we had a comfortable one capped by the amazing sunrise over lake huron. By the way, there were no lightS in the porch…. Should have one for safety considerations.
- Shelly (6/5): - Beds were very comfy, very clean, fire pits are nice, great view of bridge from beach. Confusion when booking as there are 4 properties linked and not all have the amenities listed (hot tub, pool). Built in hangers stick out into the hallway and pose a hazard, especially in the dark. Sink was blasting water - could probably use a new aerator. Water pressure good, nice towels, nice toiletries. Great price!
- Jason (8/5): - The room was great and large. The room was remodeled in a rustic look and had the feel of being in a cabin. However the grounds couldve been in better shape, as the pool and hot tub had cracks and chuncks missing from the lining along with the hot tub not working. The beach area in front of the property couldve been better as it wasnt enough of it and alot of overgrowth of tall grass and almost swampy looking. Great views for sure!
- Carol (6/5): - Arrived after check-in hours, so we had to check in at a sister hotel just down the road. We were not provided a map of the hotel, had to search for our room in the dark, the light outside our door did not work. Other than that, the room was acceptably clean. Furniture was dated. Location was great!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Property in Disrepair/Exposed Garbage - The property is in very poor condition! The rooms are good, but the grounds are terrible! Broken lights, landscaping around court yard includes smashed bricks & concrete, exposed garbage area right by rooms that smells, the balcony has moss & grass growing on it, and the outdoor carpet must be 30 years old. We will never stay at this property again and will warn everyone.
- Janyl (2/5): - Place was ran down no pool or hot tub working door to room don’t seal all the way can see daylight through it.
- Halie (10/5): - The room was very clean and comfortable bed. Close to town center.
- Gina (6/5): - Ice machine was broken, indoor pool was drained and not working, no lights outside our building.
- Jane (4/5): Stay somewhere else for a bridge view! - I would not stay here again. The ice machine was broken all during our stay. Bathroom fan/ light fixture made a horrible sound when turned on. Room was so dark it was nearly impossible to read. The ceiling light did not work. Old window a/c unit in bathroom barely cooled the entire room and was noisy. Stay somewhere else!
- Rachel (6/5): Not great - This hotel and the surrounding properties have so much potential, but it seems like the ownership just does not care to maintain the space. I mean, it was a room. Obviously recently “remodeled” with the wood panel walls, but that’s it. The beach area was covered with poop- it could have easily been raked- the balcony was covered in moss, there was no cleaning service unless requested, the pool looked to be in terrible condition. I wouldn’t stay here again.
- Linda (8/5): - The beds were comfortable. We stayed two nights. Like the shuttle to docks for boat to island.
The ice machine was broken during our stay, we bought ice. I didn:t care for the stairway to go up to our room. I was pretty narrow. The bath room with toilet and tube was really small. Sink area was fine.
- Adam (4/5): - Beds had actual dirt and debris in the sheets like someone intentionally put it there. Misleading pictures and description of the property. Had “perks” but kept them guarded like they were top secret.
- Sandra (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at the Bridge View Motel. I had reserved three lakeside rooms three months in advance, but as we were about to arrive, the motel called me to let me know the manager at that time failed to record our reservation. Fortunately, they were still able to give me one lakeside room, but two of the rooms were on the parking lot. The rooms, though, had been renovated and were spacious and comfortable. Our room on the lake was wonderful as the balcony overlooked Lake Michigan with a view of the Mackinac Bridge. If we could be guaranteed a room with a view, we would stay there again. The woman at the desk was very kind and helpful, apologizing for the misplaced reservation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was not ready at check in time.
The room was clean but priced a bit high for no amenities.
No screen on balcony glass sliding door and furniture was outdated .
- Abby (6/5): Needs updating - The rooms were updated but over the hotel was run down. The beach was not good for swimming and the pool was falling apart. Indoor pool wasn’t usable.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Once was enough and never going back! - Very outdated. No cover on the smoke detector. broken patio chairs. No microwave. Very small air conditioner in bathroom which didn't circulate to bedroom area. Bathroom window was filled with bugs, spiders in-between screen and window, dead bugs in bathroom light fixture. The tub had broken off cloth rack and they cemented the hole, the tub drain cover was loose and the water wasn't draining. The shower curtain was gross. No screen on slider and no lock on the glass slider for balcony. Reserved room but didn't get what was expected like no kitchenette, no microwave, no lookout to the lake from our slider door. Was told that only the king-suite had it. We weren't told that our room was on the second floor. Outdated furniture and dust and cobwebs on standing flower pot.
- Vanessa (6/5): - One pool was not usable due to dirty discolored water. The other pool needs some updating, it was in rough shape. Air conditioner struggled to keep up in the room.
- Linda (4/5): - The property was run down, mold & mildew on railings & balconies, goose poop all over, room was remodeled but door had a 1" gap so sunlight came in, only a sheet on the bed (no blanket or comforter), could not swim cuz the pool water looked like green kool aid. The view was very pretty from the back of the building, seeing the bridge & water.
- Keegan (2/5): - Tub was broken and unusable. Room hot. Beach full of poop. “Lakefront room” is facing the parking lot not lake… have to walk over to sunrise hotel to get ice.
- Manouchka (4/5): - I guess for the price is what we got but there were bugs inside the room that is on the main floor (on the bed, ceiling, floor) and flies too.
I couldn’t stay there so I asked for the staff to do something about it which they offered to clean but because of the bugs which looked bed bugs on the bed (not sure) I wasn’t comfortable so the staff switched me to a room on the upper floor which was way better.
Still not the greatest spot and wouldn’t come back to stay in this area/motel but for a one night with limited options…
- SHAWN (10/5): - Great place
- Michelle (10/5): - Nice cheap place to stay right on the beach. Also like the fire pits on the beach, this was our 2nd time staying there. Definitely will stay again!
- Kristen (2/5): - Dirty, freezer in room and TV were broke, beach outside had goose poop all over, snakes on deck outside of the room, weeds all through landscaping, pools were dirty, and the room wasn’t ready at check in time. Staff not friendly or easy to work with
- Paul (4/5): - Manager wasn’t very unprofessional and didn’t give two s**** that I had to wait an extra 90 minutes to check in. Will never give that place my money again.
- Scott (8/5): - Room was clean and newly remodeled. Staff was courteous and helpful. My only two gripes are that the one lamp in my room was broke and couldn't be used. And that the pools and hottub were over filled so the skimmer basket was useless and there was debris and some dead bugs floating in them. There was an employee with a net skimming the top trying to keep it clean but would have been better if they weren't over filled. I would definitely stay there again though.
- Rosemary (4/5): Mackinaw - Property was in disrepair screen broken & torn on deck area floors dirty. Beach area muddy and unapproahable. Pool dirty full of debris. No staff on site. No breakfast offered
- Shirley (2/5): - The room wasn’t bad but the property was th worst place I’ve stayed.
The price on their sign was $69 and I paid over $120.
I could have gotten a nice place for that price
Very disappointing
- Michael (4/5): - Old property, weird check in and $40 cheaper if I walked in rather than have a reservation.
Room was updated but there were spiders everywhere
- Jervis (6/5): - Very basic, mediocre property. Staff at check in and out were very helpful. Nice location lake side but room was just OK.
- John (8/5): - Great view of the Mackinaw Bridge and one of the Great Lakes
- Rose (8/5): - We loved the view from our room straight out to Lake Huron. The room was newly remodeled and clean. Close to everything. Be sure to do the Lumberjack show just down the road at Jack Pine.
- Milton (8/5): - Room was a bit small but liked the pine board siding. The lake was 30 feet from the room door so great views of lake Huron and the bridge! The fire pits were a great feature also. Only downside was the bathtub drained slowly.
- Tiffani (8/5): - Room was nice and clean. The screen door to the porch was broken. The pool and hot tub was next door and needed some TLC. We maee de the heat of it though.
- Elvira (8/5): Good stay! - It was a great stay but was a little too firm for me. Pool could have been cleaner but kids cleaned out the bugs with a net and had a great time! Beach was also nice and water shallow which was also a plus. Otherwise, everything was good and the price was also good. We would stay again.
- BRIAN (10/5): - Very nice staff..
Our room wasn't ready..the cleaning staff
- Frand (10/5): - Had a pretty good stay! The hotel was clean, felt very safe, and was wonderfully quiet. The beach was nice and relaxing.
- Erik (10/5): - Very nice and quiet! Great veiw of the lake and bridge. Within walking distance of the city
- tresa (10/5): - Great view of the Mackinac Bridge. Staff was very friendly and helpful
- Jessica (10/5): - Had to check in at different property
- Vicki (10/5): - Our room was very comfortable and we had a view of the lake and bridge
- Brock (6/5): - The best part of the stay was the view of Lake Huron and the Mackinac Bridge right out the door. The inside seemed partially refinished and partially dated. The shower unit was old and looked like it needs a deep cleaning… It definitely wasn’t the cleanest place but for the price, I didn’t expect immaculate conditions.
The manager on duty, Zack (I think) , at check in, was kind and did a fine job checking us in.
- Amy (8/5): Beautiful Views - Check-in was quick and easy. It appears they have four hotels together. We ended up staying at the Sunrise Hotel. It was right on the lake and had wonderful views. The room itself was okay, I was expecting a much nicer room when she said they were recently renovated. The hotel does have bad well water that is not treated. The pool was pretty neat but needed to be skimmed.
- Michelle (6/5): - Bridge View Motel was quiet and clean. The beds were uncomfortable. The small AC unit could not keep up with the 90 degree days. There were lots of deferred maintenance issues around the property. Door and light fixtures were damaged, we were unable to open the slider for ventilation as the screen was missing.
The outdoor amenities listed were not available, the pool was green and had a patio umbrella floating in it for two days. Housekeeping staff were great, linens were nice, but be sure to bring your own toilet paper.
- Gloria (4/5): - Floors were filthy, furniture was old. Non working smoke detector, no non slip material in tub/ shower. Trash in yard. We will stay here again
- Leslie (10/5): - Bridge view, could of had ice on property
- Glory (4/5): - Our room smelled like varnish, dirty floors, no TP stick holder, had to use the handle on the crank out window to hold the TP. Spent three nights and no one ever came to clean. The beach aera was littered with bottles and cans and weeds!! Would never go back and would definitely never recommend it!
- Judith A (10/5): - Very. Accommodating staff person. He went above and beyond to help and make us feel welcome.
- Lannis (6/5): - I liked that this property was right on the water. It had a beautiful view of the bridge it was close to town and the room looked remodeled. Not sure why, but the floor was very slippery and my socks were filthy on walking on the floor. It’s almost as if they put Something to make the floor shiny. it actually felt dangerously slippery to walk on. I wiped it off and my towel was really dirty. The beds were pretty comfortable and I did hear the people upstairs walking around and that was not fun, but I put the fan on and that helped. .
- Faisal (4/5): - No cleanliness
- Kim (10/5): - We liked Bridge View Motel. We will stay there again next time we are in the area. Clean fresh room and Lake front. Helpful and friendly front desk
- Katelyn (2/5): - Our room was covered in dirt upon arrival. The tub was absolutely disgusting. The photos of the property are not the same. We made a reservation for BridgeView and they put us in a completely different hotel. No services were provided ever. To get toilet paper, we had to hunt down the housekeeping cart and just take it.
- Loganathan (10/5): - Outside beach view was good and easy access to beach, Our family liked the stay.
- Heather (4/5): - When we arrived, we had to walk to a neighboring hotel to check in. One guy was taking care of 4 motels, including ours. He gave us our room key, we walk back to our room only to find it completely dirty from the last persons stay. So we walked back to the first hotel and got keys to a clean room. During the walk I picked up 4 nails and screws in the parking lot. We didn’t think our room had any hot water, we had to let it run about 15 minutes before it started to get a little warm and we took lukewarm showers both mornings of our stay. Our mini fridge had black mold in it. It appeared the room had been recently renovated with flooring and knotty pine walls but the fixtures and everything else were old. We found cob webs in the corner of the room. We couldn’t use the slider on our balcony because the screen was ripped out of it. We went to turn on our lamp only to realize there was no lightbulb in it.
Definitely not impressed and won’t be back
- Janet (8/5): - Newly renovated but not exactly finished
- David (8/5): - The room was very clean
- Sharlene (6/5): - On lake
- Robert (6/5): - This property was very close to the bridge and the ferry to go to the island. However, the water never got warm, and the television wouldn’t work either. The head front desk person wasn’t there when we went to check-out and there were four people waiting to check-out when they finally got back. Thankfully we felt safe in this location!
- michele (2/5): - Our room was on the first floor. Upon entering the room it was damp and musty. The room was clean except for the floor was pretty sandy. The in room refrigerator would not get cold, the shower has very little water pressure if you prefer the water temperature to be above lukewarm. The beds were not comfortable. The bedding was thin and rough. The most frustrating thing about our stay was the level of different noises coming from the building. From the heat, AC units, and the unit above us , there was very loud pining, vibrations, rumbling of something mechanical within the building. These noises went on all night long. Needless to say we didn't sleep well at all. This is a beach front property and the beach was mainly the large seawall type rocks. What little beach there was, was dirty with litter and the water at the shoreline was filled with some type of algae. I would describe this place as a pig with lipstick on.
- Perla (2/5): - The property is isolated, lots of bugs, furnishings are old. I had sinus allergy attack from staying there. Sound of water from drain or bathroom all night. The people above us made noise all night long. We couldn’t sleep. The entry to the property is confusing; having to check in at Sunrise. The photos and name of the property is misleading.
- Jennifer (8/5): - The only issues we had was the loud people above us. There was hardly anyone there and it was kind of annoying that people were put so close together. Also the tub would not drain in room 14 and the shower knobs need replaced. Overall a good experience.
- Tracy (10/5): - Such a hidden gem in Mackinaw city. This motel has been newly remodeled and I feel like we got excellent value for our stay. The views are amazing. I could see the island and the bridge. Loved the sandy beach with the bonfires. The front desk staff is so nice and helpful. Very clean and very peaceful. We will definitely be back
