- Julie (9/5): Traditional and peaceful with a beautiful onsen - We had a beautiful spacious and traditional room with tatami flooring, screen doors and low table. The set traditional meal for dinner was excellent and the breakfast was good and varied. The Onsen area was superb with very clean and organised changing and shower areas and with great indoor and outdoor spa baths in a beautiful setting. Staff were helpful and friendly. Although the hotel is in a beautiful setting it is quite a distance to Hakone town area so requires quite a long walk, a taxi or a hilly walk from the bus stop. The public areas of the hotel are a little dated.

Les onsens compris dans l’offre sont très propres et qualitatifs, à noter qu’il y a des chaises de massage de haut niveau qui sont un vrai plus. À noter également qu’il y a une salle de mangas Petite cote qui chauffe les jambes pour arriver à l’hôtel

- Maša (10/5): Best place to relax and eat good - Here we had the best dinner in our whole Japan trip. I cannot explain how excellent was the food and the whole experience. We don’t like to eat raw meat and here we could grill it ourselves as much as we wanted. The onsen was also amazing. It has one inside onsen and many outside onsens. Outside onsens have an amazing view over the hills. It was really peaceful and unique experience. You also get clothes that you can wear around the hotel. They have amazing massage chairs. This hotel was such a good choice to really rest and enjoy the amazing food, onsens and massage. We would definitely go again.

- McMahon (7/5): Keep your expectations in check and you'll be fine. - The onsen were lovely at night, the staff were helpful and the set Japanese dinner was always interesting and tasty. The view from the room was lovely mountainside. We drove so the location was fine but it's not feasible to walk anywhere unless you bring your rock climbing gear along (big steep hills). While the website states that the pool is out of use during the colder seasons it doesn't state that they just stop cleaning it all together and it is smelly and full of tadpoles. You have to walk past this mess everytime you go to the onsen or restaurant. The hotel is old and getting rundown especially in the public areas. While the price is cheap for the area it was still much more expensive than everywhere else we went in Japan. I was expecting this to be my luxury stay and it wasn't.

Room was large and beautiful, designed with traditional Japanese style. There was a big wellness area with hot springs, both indoor and outdoor and it was open until 11pm so very convenient to relax after a long day. We also had dinner there and it was one of the best dinners of our holiday around Japan!! Very delicious and typical, with 10 dishes or more, very healthy!! Nothing, everything was perfect!

Great onsen that felt like a spa and not so much like public baths. The fact that is kind of hidden and hard to reach by foot. Need to take a taxi or bus and still walk. The dinner was in a smaller restaurant where we could choose our meal, it was a set meal. It was good but we wished we had more choices.

- Steven (7/5): Decent Hotel for Travelers on a Budget - There were a lot of electrical outlets spread out in the room, bathroom and entry way. It was also very clean and spacious. We liked that kamatas and slippers were provided. The breakfast was actually pretty diverse and we appreciated that. Location is rather far from the main town and train station. Other than the mediocre restaurant, there isn't much nearby to walk to for dinner (past 7:00 pm.) And this hotel is one of 4 that are affiliated, but it's the farthest one up a big hill. I would recommend taking a taxi from the train station instead of hauling your luggage that far and up a hill. It was only around $8 USD one way.

- Ilyaas (9/5): Very cute place that served my needs to be in a cultural area that was relaxing - the onsen was massive and extremely varied which was great because you could pick one with the temperature you want, the dinner was solid but could've been a bit more in proportion, the massage chair room had about 10 chairs and there was an old video game room and a mange room the kaiseki was one where we had to cook for ourselves, and the room was a bit small for 5 people, I think 4 people is the perfect size, bit of a drive from hakone-yumoto station but there is a 200 yen shuttle that will get you there and back

- Briscar (9/5): Bon établissement classique - Établissement assez grand dans le style des hôtels de curistes. En pleine montagne. La chambre est spacieuse et la literie impeccable. Salle de bain classique. Les repas sont de qualité et copieux. Le grand atout, c'est le onsen ! Semi intérieur et extérieur...plusieurs bassins à des températures différentes et pour l'avoir testé, l'eau est très efficace et fait un bien immense ! Il y a des kimonos à disposition, un sac avec deux serviettes et des pantoufles ! Une serviette de plus dans la salle de bain serait bienvenue. Le chemin privé pour y arriver est assez difficile à trouver...il faudrait améliorer la signalisation...

The rooms were lovely, traditional with tatami flooring ad low tables. The breakfast and dinners were delicious and the onsen - especially the outdoor ones were fantastic with great views and good access.

- Guus (8/5): Mooie locatie, midden in de natuur. - De locatie was heel erg mooi. De kamer is schoon en het personeel is vriendelijk. Eigenlijk waren wij positief verrast, de route van het station naar boven is stijl, maar daarvoor is er een shuttlebus geregeld. Wij hebben geen directe minpunten.

- Charalampos (9/5): Perfect if you want to feel a bit closer to the traditional way - As soon as we entered the room we were stunned with the tatami floor and the layout. Spacious with two beds and three futons, it accommodated our family easily. The bathroom was split between WC and Shower room which was effective, there was a closet and plenty of room for shoes and suitcases. The view from the room was amazing with the nature around Hakone. The whole room was asking for your respect and deserving it! I wish we could stay a couple of more nights... Futon beds are for the braver than me :) My daughter loved it and slept like a brick, I was too delicate for them but I didn't wake up tired, just a little hurt. No shaders in the windows (or we didn't find them) which resulted in daylight breaking in at 05:30 in the morning, again, my daughter didn't notice, only I did. My wife and other daughter were further inside the room in the normal beds with their sleeping masks on and didn't notice either. Location wise is on the top of the hill, be prepared for a climb, or for a taxi (very polite and fast taxi drivers in the area)
- Pui Sha Victoria (9/5): Relaxing stay with amazing outdoor onsens - We stayed in many onsens this trip and the various outdoor onsens of Hakonenomori are unmatched! It was also great to have a sauna and ice bath. It is a traditional resort in the mountains, perfect for an escape whilst still being relatively close to Hakone Yumoto station. The shuttle bus to the hotel stops around 6pm, so if you need to get back after you’ll have to take a taxi (1000yen from Hakone Yumoto) as the walk from the station is quite steep! There aren’t restaurants around (except the hotel’s own which you need to reserve).

- giusecaradonna (7/5): Soggiorno indimenticabile, anche se l'onsen familiare (dell'hotel affiliato) era troppo piccola - La pulizia e la dimensione delle stanze erano perfette. Ristorante di buona qualità, così come le onsen per uomo, anche se posizionate nell'hotel di fianco affiliato. Davvero un pernottamento da non dimenticare. Un menù del ristorante con più scelta e le onsen familiari più grandi, anche se capisco che per il turismo giapponese non servono :). La vasca era troppo piccola per 4 persone e il confort dell'intera onsen era un po' precaria

- Betty (8/5): God opplevelse, men ville ikke bestilt med frokost eller middag. - Stort rom . Vi bestilte med frokost og middag. Frokosten var ok, og vi forventet mer mat på middagen. Måtte bestille på forhånd saunafamilierom, når vi ankom så var det ingen ledige tidspunkter for familierom. Ulempe at hotellet ikke har egen massasjeavdeling, måtte gå til et annet hotell 10 min unna.

- Kimberly (8/5): - The room was on the older side and wasn’t the easiest to get to if you miss the last shuttle or need to shuttle first thing in the morning. However, The hot spring experience was incredible - many different types of pool options. Service was great!
