Guest Reviews
- Serena (10/5): - Spacious rooms, high ceilings, housekeeping. Reception was very friendly with great tips on sightseeing and food. Location is 3 min walk from Sant Angelo vapretto. We also took airport ferry from there.
Central location and you can walk to St Marks piazza or Doges palace in 10mins. Grocery nearby. Shower is small with no door so floors get wet but there’s daily housekeeping so fresh towels etc.
- Teresa (8/5): - Hotel management reached out to provide clear directions from airports or train station to the hotel. We booked a 2-bedroom unit, very spacious, clean and neat. Although reception only opens in the afternoon, we can communicate through WhatsApp and they're very responsive. Our microwave was broken and it's fixed quickly. Property is near a piazza and walking distance to St. Mark's Square, thus very convenient. It's quiet at night. We enjoyed our stay.
- Lawrence (10/5): Very nice stay - We had a very nice stay at Ca Mariele. We were greeted by Mateo, who was very helpful and friendly. The apartment had the space we needed, and while it didn't specifically have any features catering to our children, it worked for us. The location is excellent!
- Christopher (10/5): - We had a great stay at Ca' Mariele with our toddler. The hotel is located just outside a large square with lots of dining options and about a 20min walk from St Marks Square. The room was very nice and clean, and the staff were super friendly and helpful!
- Johnny (10/5): - Was perfectly located. Only issue which I think is common in Venice is no elevator.
- Marwan (10/5): - Great property, spacious and comfortable. Close to all the attractions of beautiful Venice.
- Kazi Fouzia (10/5): - Everything great or more than great only if there is complimentary tea or coffee that will be nice.
Thank you
- Devendar (10/5): - Safe and spacious bedrooms
- HONFAN (10/5): Very spacious apartment - The apartment is very spacious. There are 2 separate bathrooms. The beds are big (bigger than king size?) and very comfortable. There is separate A/C in living room and bedroom. The location is convenient. We had very comfortable stay for 4 people for 2 nights there. The only down side is that we had to climb 3 floors of stairs which is a bit difficult with the luggage. Everything else is perfect.
- Tatiana (4/5): - Very good location, but we didn’t get 2 bedroom unit we booked, discount for 1 bedroom unit was minimum, and we lost the comfort of the bedroom. Host told us our unit had air conditioner problem. Unit was very small and outdated.
- TANNAZ (8/5): - Good location, walking distance to main attraction, spacious clean room and friendly staff.
- Robert (10/5): - We got a very nice room. Clean and comfortable bed.
- Frances (8/5): Venice for 4 - Good location and easy to find. Spacious with newer shower facilities
- PALLAB (10/5): - This was one of the best accommodations we have experienced in our European tour. First, the staff were amazing in terms of communication... Ahead of our trip, they reminded us how to get here, checkin rules, and how to apply for city tax exemption.
When we got here, it was super easy to find the place - 4m from S Angelo ferry stop.. Matheo met us at the front door... Smooth checkin and even better, shared amazing restaurant recommendations.
We were a family of 4 - they gave us apartment # 5! The size of the apartments blew our minds - I was expecting something of a rabbit hole at Venice - this was palatial by those standards. The rooms were clean, quiet and the amenities were all awesome - what we appreciated most was a well functioning AC.
The location of Ca' Mariele is unbeatable - 13m max to San Marco or to Rialto..lots of cages and gelateria around.
Honestly we couldn't have asked for more from our accommodations for this amazing trip to Venezia.
- Donna (10/5): Great location - Location was excellent! Matteo greeted us and was extremely helpful. We throughly enjoyed our stay. We would recommend to family and friends.
- Tuan (10/5): - Very great hotel, very near center of Venice so just walk and you get to your destinatio
- Cristian (10/5): - We had an amazing experience at Ca Mariele. It was clean and well located, air conditioning worked well. Would highy recommend.
- Claire (10/5): - The most amazing apartment! The perfect location, quiet but just a 2 minute walk to coffee shops and a beautiful square. The building and interior are stunning and everything we were looking for in an authentic Italian stay. Staff were great and so friendly. Can’t recommend this apartment enough!!
- Jim (6/5): - Location was great, very close to everything. Minimal kitchen utensils and dinnerware. There was only 1 frying pan and it was in bad condition. The non stick coating was pretty much all gone and scratched. The remote control to the TV was missing the cover to the batteries, every time you pick up the remote control, the batteries would fall out.
- Md ashfaqur (8/5): - Mat was very helpful.
- Edna (8/5): - Great location, great staff at check in. The kitchen area is basic with no kettle or toaster. The only toiletries were shampoo and bars of soap. Just eat out !
- Magie (10/5): - Nice place, huge rooms and very conforable. You can hear the upstairs noise if you are a light sleeper. But overall is nice.
- Arden (8/5): - This apartment was disappointing, only because with a tiny bit of care and effort it could be so much more.
The apartment was huge! 2 floors, 2 huge bedrooms with large comfortable beds, and 2 full bathrooms. The real estate for the the cost was truly amazing, unfortunately it was difficult to be comfortable in the space. The couch in the “living room” was disgusting, as was all the other upholstered furniture. Visible staining with god only knows what, the mattress didn’t fold into the couch properly, and for some reason a cot was just sitting in the corner the living room. I wouldn’t have touched it with a 10-foot pole.
This meant the only places we were comfortable sitting were the bed (which had upholstered headboards…) or at the table. The light in the living room only had 2 working lightbulbs and was thick with dust and grime, and the walls were in need of a fresh coat of paint.
If they would invest a little money into a fresh coat of paint, some new furniture and maybe some art for the walls it would be an amazing place! The location is amazing, and the staff was kind and very helpful. It’s a real shame, as it seems the owners intend to let the space rot, while continuing to charge the excessive prices of Venice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The receptionist was awesome. He was friendly and helpful. The property is old but very spacious and the location is great. The washroom could be in better condition
- Bill (8/5): Location prime - Great location.
- Joy (2/5): - dirty bath tub and lots of molds on the wood
- Alexander (8/5): - This hotel was in a fantastic location for our family of four. Not far from the main tourist sites, but in a quieter area. The hotel it self was very comfortable, came with everything we needed, and was reasonably clean. There was a few spots in the washrooms that needed a fresh coat of paint, but that was easy to live with considering the location and price.
- Lori (10/5): Great location! - Great location and comfortable rooms. I reserved 3 rooms for our family. No elevator but that's how it is in Europe. Could have used better communication to get there and to get our rooms.
- Darren (6/5): - Great location and size of the apartment was comfortable. The bathrooms need an upgrade and maintenance, and small maintenance updates to the property are needed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect place to stay for a family vacation! - Wonderful apartment and great location! Host Matteo is very nice and accommodating, highly recommended!
- Rose (8/5): - Communication was great, Manager was very friendly and helpful with directions and any questions we had. Nice and roomy accomodation. Cafe a few steps away which was great for the mornings.
- karen (8/5): - Great location
- Dunia De (10/5): - We were welcome and great hospitality
Mr. Matteo provide guide from train station to hotel, provide directions and assistance to Venice he assisted with information to go to airport
We could ask to property staff about assistance
clean and confortable hotel, great location
Will recommend it
- Patricia (4/5): - No breakfast - this property’s add stated breakfast available !! The air conditioner leaked water all over the floor for 2 days !! The walls where stained in yellow due to this issue -
& worst of all no elevators for luggage or handicapped travelers
- kyle (10/5): - Lots of room for everyone. Felt like a local living so close to the plaza
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was very good. Easy to get to,from the Grand Canal water taxi.
Pull out couch is not fit to sleep in,unfortunately. Very uncomfortable. Beds in the loft, were great. Only 3 chairs at the kitchen table. Front desk clerk very pleasant and helpful. Even though there was a language barrier with the housekeeper, she was very pleasant and offered assistance to us,upon our alearlu arrival.Great coffee shop/bar,around the corner from the property was very handy.
- Jeffery (10/5): A Great place to stay - The apartment was much nicer than I expected. For the money it would be hard to beat. The location is great and I will stay there again if I get back to Venice loved having two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There was also a kitchenette in the living area.
- Liz (10/5): - Great location - very close to Dining and Marco Square and Rialto Bridge. Host was punctual and friendly. Would stay here again. Perfect for family of 4.
- Della (8/5): Great location! - Great location! 10 minute walk to Rialto bridge and St Mark's Square, and water busses available everywhere. Hotel room was huge with king size bed in the loft. There was even a small kitchenette and refigerator. We also had a balcony with gray pavilion views. Checkin and checkout was easy!
The bathrooms in Italy are always a challenge with toilets flushing and hot water for showers, but nothing against the location.
Would definitely stay here again!
- Eileen (10/5): - The staff was incredibly friendly, and we were delighted to secure the apartment at the top of the building. It was a truly lovely experience.
- nathan (8/5): - We had a 2 bed, 2 floor apartment, for our family of 4. 2 bathrooms and well maintained property.
3 mins walk from our water taxi drop off and prefect location for walkable sight seeing.
Would definitely stay here again.
- Jared (10/5): - This is a wonderful, charming apartment. It’s perfectly located in the center of the city. There are stairs to climb to reach your room. The check in process was easy. The host was very kind and helpful. They had a place to store luggage if you get there before check in. Fortunately, our room was ready when we arrived and therefore we were able to check in early. They communicated very well with questions I had ahead of time via email. The location was easy to find. It was a short walk from our stop from the orange line of the water taxi Alilunga. We loved our multiple night stay here and would highly recommend this property.
- LiElla (10/5): - So easy. The location is great. The apartment was large and comfortable. They held our bags after check-out so we could continue to explore without luggage. Everything you need to enjoy the city with ease.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Perfect location and friendly welcome!
Only one thing not very comfortable is hot water was not hot enough!
We had a good stay in the hotel !
- Gaurav (2/5): - Spacious room and good location - but, our toilet was broken, not fixed even after reporting , and mosquitoes were present in the apartment.
Note that there's no lift so you are out of luck if you are on top floor.
- NAVAID (2/5): - Hello we stayed at Ca Mariele , appartment #1 for two nights
From Oct 8 to Oct 10, we were a family of 4 , 2 adults, 2 kids , flew from US to Venice
On arrival we requested for a different apartment as when checked in , we found mold smell in it and my children started coughing
Afterwards my wife called 3 times for these complaints through out first day with no one picked or returned call
Our discomfort was due to ;
1 mold smell in big room ,
2, spider webs in both rooms
3 stained, unwashed comforters
When we finally spoke to a lady on 9 th october in evening, the lady on phone kept arguing rather than helping
We are quite disappointed with the stay and request to at least refund one day stay
We emailed the photos to the owner
However the owner’s attitude was quite non professional, rather than acknowledging they blamed us for leaving the application dirty ( we paid for hefty cleaning fees )
It looks the minute we demanded to return half the rent , they got annoyed and started Attacking rather than apologizing for poor service and non professional attitude
We want to make sure other people get what’s shown in the ad on Expedia
I have all the photos to submit to expedia
- Brian (10/5): - Located in a quiet area away from the tourist hot spots but still close enough to everything. The place was spacious for a family of 4 and having a 2nd bathroom was a huge bonus. We will stay here again.
- David (8/5): - Location-wise, this was unbelievable, and it is very unique.
- Brittney (8/5): - Great location and easy to get around. As well as several restaurants and cafes near by but not in a touristy area. The only thing I have to complain about was it wasn’t as clean as I would of liked. Needed dusting, mold in the shower, and the walls had a lot of scuff marks and dirt on them. Linens and towels were very clean.
- GLENN (10/5): - It was clean and confortable, a good location. It was a great time.
- Mansi (10/5): - Great location and hotel
- Yvonne (10/5): - This was amazing value for the money. The apt style provided a lot more space than a average hotel room, Staff were extremely friendly and informative. It was very central and walking distance to a lot of amazing site seeing areas. I would definitely stay here again!
- Rowel (10/5): - great place
- Yaron (10/5): Nice stay - Nice apartment for four.
- Gracie (8/5): - Amazing location and nice clean apartment.
- Saverio (10/5): - I stayed here for 2 nights. Extremely loved it. Super clean and right near the closest attractions. It was hard to find because Venice streets are particular but overall loved it. The owners were super friendly and it was simple to get in. Everything was perfect! Grazie molto!
- Marie-Andrée (10/5): - Great place! Really big appartement!
- Kate (10/5): - My friends and I stayed here last fall and absolutely loved it. The front desk person Matteo was so kind and accommodating; he gladly waited for our late arrival (which we messaged about prior) and made sure we were all okay and recommended a lot of restaurants in the area. The room itself was gorgeous and spacious, the location was convenient to all of the popular sights and a variety of stores. It has no lift/elevator because Venice buildings are old, but thankfully we were fine without it. Getting used to Italian showers is a weird experience as they don’t come with full shower doors or curtains, but the bathrooms were clean and stocked. We will definitely stay here again.
- catherine (10/5): - Close to everything and great air conditioning.
- Kevin (8/5): - This property has a great location and was very spacious for our family of 4. We did have a sink that clogged the first time we used it and we called right away. We were there for 2 nights and it was never fixed
That was the main downside. We were unable to use that sink our entire stay
- Jennifer (10/5): Great base to explore Venice - Our family of four had a wonderful stay. The location is phenomenal - easy walk to most of central Venice's sights and the vaporetto stops. We found an amazing cafe in the square nearby where we had breakfast. We had a lofted room, so the children had their own bedroom. It was remarkably spacious for a European city.
- John (10/5): - Easy checkin. The spartmwnt was as described except for the 54 steps we had climb. Central to everything. Enjoyed Venice!
- Darren (8/5): - Mixed opinion. The location is awesome - an easy few minutes' walk from the S. Angelo station on the Canal. Less than 15 mins to St. Mark's Square, and a coffee cage two doors down. But the unit has issues: the floors are slanted throughout, meaning we had to switch pillows to opposite end of downstairs bed. Downstairs shower is dysfunctional with a handheld sprayer and a narrow glass quarter-door so water gets everywhere. And a kitchen pantry-thing with no dish soap or paper towels or towels. For the price and location, it was great for us, we just didn't sleep well at all.
- Colleen (10/5): - Staff was so friendly, flexible and helpful.
Beautiful apartment in nice area of town. Loved this stay.
- Brooke (10/5): Beautiful apartment in Venice - We only had one in Venice and stayed at the the beautiful Ca Mariele aprtments in Venice.
Lovely decor, very clean and great location.
Self check-in and very clear instructions on transportation options from the Airport made this a very enjoyable stay.
- trang (8/5): - There was urine smell inside the room and bedding. The shower is unusual with no curtains or doors so be very careful with water splashing everywhere.
It is in a convenient location to nearby shopping area. It’s about a 30 minute walk to the train station. When we arrived, the water bus workers were on strike so we couldn’t take water bus to our hotel. Fortunately we didn’t pack too much since there were many bridges with steps to cross. We were there end of May 2023.
- Anoop (10/5): - Great stay and unbeatable location. Highly recommend!!
- Anne (4/5): - WiFi wasn’t good. Shower was bad. Lots of noise from hotel next door, problem with the sitting room lights, they kept going off. Just not the apartment I was expecting when looking at the website pictures.
Great location though.
- Pawel (6/5): could be better - Good location. Poor equipement in the room.
- Sheila (10/5): - The sittingroom was large with a television, couch, chair, dining table with chairs and a small kitchen containing a fridge.
The bedroom was up a stair and it contained a very large bed and two bedside tables. Also there was plenty of storage space throughout.
- Ursula (8/5): Almost Perfect - We loved our stay here and will return. A warm welcome awaited us and the apartment is in an excellent location and is perfect in so many ways. A few small changes would make a big difference, such as a kettle in the kitchen (provided after we requested one), a coffee pot, basic toiletries (two small bath foams were all that was provided) and a hook from which to hang the shower head.
- Harley (8/5): - Good checkin and ability to sotre bags the next morning a bonus. Good location , , clean and spacious enough for the 3 of us and bonus of 2 bathrooms. However the plaster on the wall in the main bathroom was falling off above the shower. Otherwise great place and would recommend to others to stay there
- Jose (6/5): - The Hotel location is perfect. The rooms are somehow old, with broken and dirty furniture. We had breakfast included but very little was done about it (just some croissants and yogurts). The lack of cleaning was evident in many areas of the apartment. Hope they will improve for next time.
- Alejandro (10/5): - Very nice apartment. They provided excellent details on how to get there from the airport. Bigger than expected. Nice washroom as well. Very well located. Few minutes from San Marcos square. We had breakfast just right beside and it was nice. The cleaning lady was super nice. Walkable to every place in Venice.
- Mark (8/5): - The property was very clean and the room had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The location was excellent.
- Natasha (6/5): Run down - Nice location but the place was falling apart,
Literally! We had water coming through the ceiling on our first day with no explanation. Someone had placed a bucket and towel there to catch the water drips. Walls in both bathrooms were moulding and paint coming off. Rotten beans above our head. Shower was blocked. Room was very clean and the bed was comfy but that’s about all that was good with the property. You can also hear every single footstep above your head and each time someone in the building flushes the toilet or uses the water it is super noisy. We didn’t sleep until 3am one morning from all the internal noise. They give you an emergency number to call as there is rarely anyone on site but the last thing you want at midnight is to wait for someone to turn up and explain that the property is old and the water leak coming through wooden beams, can’t be fixed, so we didn’t bother. If you want a good location but very run down broken room, this is the place for you.
- DEISY (10/5): - Very cute apartment for a big family. We were 6 and was close to a lot of restaurants, stores and taxi boat
- Gerardo (10/5): Good choice - Very good host. Hotel is in a very good location. Easy access to the main attractions.
- Dante (8/5): - Nice apartment but needs more kitchen items like coffee maker, glasses, plates.
Breakfast they provide is only cookies and boxed juices.
Sofa bed is very uncomfortable. Bed upstairs is good.
- ROMAN (10/5): - Very good
- Mahalakshmi (10/5): - This is an amazing apt to stay, very close to water bus stop and to other landmark places. We just walked everywhere, highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Venice.
- DAVID (10/5): Very nice property - Excellent location. The service and the people supporting are extremely nice. Location is very good between Rialto and San Marco.
- Dana (10/5): - Excellent location and Matteo was wonderful. It was central enough for us and very quiet and peaceful overall it was a great place for our family of 4 to stay in during our first time in Venice.
- thang (10/5): - Matt was the biggest help with everything. He made it a pleasant experience from our stressful travel arrangements
- Mariana (10/5): - It was amazing! Everything was super clean and nice! Great location because we were walking distance from everything! I fell in love with the place!
- Elsa (8/5): - Great Location, friendly staff
- Sohail (10/5): - Helpful staff and excellent apartment, close to everything
- Verified traveler (6/5): Poor. Would not recommend. - No working air con, no one ever at reception and too many mosquitoes spoil an otherwise nice accommodation.
- Deanne (8/5): Great stay - Great location. Very comfy bed. Would have preferred overhead shower but still highly recommend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A great find, easy walking distance to all the attractions. Plenary of place to eat or have a coffee just outside your door. Breakfast was included and was yummy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location; big spaces at a reasonable price; clean sheets and towels daily.
It was very hard to get information from the staff; we were not given a form to order breakfast which we would have valued in advance and used.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was clean, but the inside of the room needs some reparation I think.
- Amir (10/5): Great apartment in Venice - The place is magnificent, clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice size apartment for a family in the center of venice
- ReyRey (6/5): - Location is great, very central and close to main attraction
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We liked the set up of this property. There was one bedroom downstairs and one upstairs and another area with two twin beds. It was in an old building but everything was updated. It had a very cool/quaint vibe. The breakfast was simple but yummy. There was a small window of time for check in but this worked out fine for us. Matteo, the receptionist, was very kind as were all the the housekeeping staff. We were able to leave our suitcases there after check out. The rooms accommodated our party of 6 perfectly. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Two bedroom suite is big and beautiful.Beds are comfortable. Staff are helpful while they are around. Location good. They do store your luggage after you check out, very nice of them.
Coming to bad part- very hard to find hotel.
Bathrooms stink , broken toilet seats, stained toilets. Water in the tub gets clogged. Breakfast ok.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, property condition, service and wry spacious
- Vanessa (10/5): - Fantastic location.
- JoshWells (10/5): - Service is excellent. Matteo called to check on us during check in, met us at the water stop and even helped with bags. The check in is at a different location, but easy once you understand Venice. The apartment was large and had two separate rooms with a small kitchen. Very clean, the kids loved the door that slid open on its own when you used the card. Great location very easy walk to St. Marks and Rialto Bridge. Excellent price, location and size of apartment was greater than we expected.
