Guest Reviews
- Merlin (8/5): - It's a perfect location, only two blocks from St. George Street, the trolley stop, and many of the old town attractions. The three breakfasts we had were excellent, as was the dining room. Our server the first two days was really excellent. We had an upstairs room, with a large balcony seating area just outside our door. But, the seats' cushions were thin and faded, the canopy/awning was ripped in multiple places. We bought an extension cord because there were only two outlets, outside the bathroom. (One other outlet was behind the headboard (too heavy to move, another didn't work at all. We also bought (and left in the bedside lamps) brighter light bulbs. The television didn't work -- even after calling the manager twice for instructions on the remotes. We would stay again, but knowing these inconveniences in advance, we'd come better prepared.
- MIke (10/5): - Very cute place and great location .. We had nice time for sure !
- George (8/5): - Great Location, the hotel is very nice (could go for a little upgrade) however the staff is very friendly. Check in was very easy, the breakfast was very nice, plentiful and delicious.
The rooms are smaller than a traditional hotel which is expected for an Inn. The rooms do not have individual climate control which was disappointing and there was not a desk or place to use my laptop.
Parking is available if needed and that is convenient.
I would have loved an AM coffee station before and after breakfast.
- JOHN (10/5): - Nice place, good location.
- Marisa (10/5): Perfect little place! - Loved this place! Walking distance to everything. Great service, unique space, convenient parking, delicious food.
- Brady (10/5): - As our first ever stay in a bed and breakfast, it was truly wonderful! The staff was incredibly kind, the room was cute, and breakfast was great. Keep in mind you are staying above a restaurant in an old house so it is pretty old. The shower was not the best but everything else was beautiful! For sure would stay again!
- Diane (10/5): - The EXCEPTIONAL staff was an excellent compliment to this wonderful Inn we had the extreme pleasure of staying here. The dining was fantastic. Five star all the way.
- christine (10/5): - We loved our stay at this very charming Inn. The room was clean, spacious with a very comfortable bed. We also had a great dinner at the restaurant as well as a delicious breakfast
- Ana (10/5): - Excelente servicio y limpieza
- Chunyao (4/5): - Tube water was unstable, some time hot some cold, room was smelly
- Julie (10/5): - Clean and beautiful furniture like an old regal hotel.
- Kim (10/5): - Our room was very cute and comfortable. I was worried about not having access to the A/C controls, but the room was cool and comfortable.
The food at the attached restaurant was very good. The breakfast was delicious, as was our meal the night we went there for dinner.
It was within walking distance to many attractions, but we also used the trolly.
Everyone we met who worked there was very Nice and helpful.
I would recommend The Old City House Inn to anyone visiting the area.
- Julia (8/5): - The building is tired. Our room had a sliding door to the bathroom which didn’t slide easily and the shower door didn’t close. Also, the Wifi did not reach our room. Staff were very friendly and the food very good.
- Janell (10/5): - Was close and within walking distance to all attractions in st Augustine. Accommodations were better than expected. Comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely Ambience - Property was located in the heart of Old St Augustine.
Quaint building, loved sitting on my balcony soaking up the Old World ambiance.
A delicious Full course breakfast included with the price of the room.
Guests who cannot navigate steep stairways should inquire before booking a room as to its location.
- Susan (10/5): - First time staying in a Bed and Breakfast. It is unique. Breakfast was delicious and different.
- Karen (10/5): - We had booked for the wrong date, we called and they had no problems switching our days with no hassle. The place is near shops and restaurants, easy to walk around and not have to worry about driving. Breakfast was superb, I was not expecting a gourmet breakfast but that’s exactly what we got. I highly recommend this this Inn. We will definitely be back. We stayed in one of the small rooms, but this was still spacious enough for two people to be comfortable
- robert (10/5): - Awesome home away from home!
- Illia (8/5): - Friendly staff, clean room, beautiful antique decor in room. Exterior of inn, garden and balconies are well-maintained. Delicious breakfast. Centrally located in historic district.
- Christi (10/5): Vintage St Augustine B&B - Wonderful stay! The building is old so we understand the condition can be difficult to keep up. We did have dirty floors, so thought that could be better. Overall, a great stay and St Augustine is wonderful!
- Deborah (6/5): - The property was in a very good location and had parking onsite, which was great. The restaurant needs to be updated and could benefit from having some form of entertainment, at least on weekends. The bar also closes very early, which leads to having to find somewhere else to go for a late night drink. The rooms were up a flight of stairs which made it difficult with bringing luggage up to room, and there was no assistance for it.
- kirk (6/5): - nice location, nice building, old, very small so low level of amenity and service. very nice restaurant. breakfast not available until 9:00. poot internet
- 478cyndiw (6/5): St. Augustin is a great historic place to go. Be careful about what you are told. Do your own research. - St. Augustin is a great place to go. But don't take anyone's word. Do your research. Because your hotel may not be within walking distance of the historic district. Ours was across the Lions Bridge. That's not walking distance.
We enjoyed the Colombian restaurant and gift shop
St. Augustin has it all. Great beach, history, restaurants, and shopping.
- Nicole (10/5): - The rooms were very clean with plenty of space for my husband and I. The breakfast was AMAZING! The only thing I will say is the check in, check out process was a little confusing because we didn’t realize we had to go into the restaurant. But when we figured it out, everything was great. If you like old Florida and your stay to be a part of your experience, I recommend!
- Patricia (10/5): Anniversary weekend - I booked our stay based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The included breakfast was excellent! The restaurant is open to the public for dinner so make a reservation because it’s definitely a place you want to eat. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. The staff was very helpful with anything we needed. Located in the historic and across the street from the Lightner Museum and Flagler College, it’s an easy walk to George St, the fort and many restaurants. We would highly recommend
- Morgan (10/5): - Juan and staff went above and beyond but especially Juan. We had a little hiccup in our room and within moments, Jaun made everything right and then some. He was so extremely friendly and helpful our entire stay. The staff really made the room a better experience. Great location to everything and great food as well.
- Jamie (10/5): - We had a great one night stay here. Perfect location, very walkable. Easy check in and check out. Easy parking. Breakfast was great. Will definitely stay here again.
- Michael (10/5): - This is a rustic historical property which appeals to us but perhaps not to everyone. I particularly liked the adjacent covered deck...especially in a rain shower with a bottle of wine. The restaurant was excellent and the barkeep (Mac) was a delightful conversant.
- Maksim (10/5): - good
- Patricia (10/5): - Great please to stay . 5 minutes walk to everything is right next to the museum the Lightener A lot of beautiful things to do and many restaurants. The hotel includes breakfast very delicious I will totally stay again.
- David (10/5): - Great location, beautiful historical building!
- Michael Ray (8/5): - Excellent location. Breakfast was large and good. The bathroom was clean but the floors, including the area rug were not.
- annette (10/5): - Exceptional food and location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was nice and quiet. Time for new pillows they were very hard and not comfortable. Everything else was amazing.
- Lisa (10/5): - Very clean room. Very Quaint property. Excellent location to explore historic area. So many options within walking distance. Or hop on the trolley. Beautiful plate presentation on breakfast which was included in the room rate. We would stay here again. Only complaint was no coffee maker in the room.
- Debby (6/5): - The office was closed during our entire two night stay. When we arrived, our keys were in the mailbox. I had to call the number posted on the door to ask which room we were in.
No communication whatsoever.
I asked the waitress during breakfast the next morning what the WiFi password was. Once I left the property and returned, the WiFi no longer worked.
Breakfast was very good, but I wondered why another table had additional options added to their breakfast that were not afforded to us.
The room was clean, but the furniture was old and worn. The deadbolt on the door did not lock.
The location was in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and historical buildings.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Amazing restaurant ambience and food was fine dining at its best! The Inn was quiet, very well kept and staff were attentive. We will be staying here again.
- Barbara (10/5): - Curb appeal ✔️, friendly staff ✔️, beautiful room with goegeous stained glass windows ✔️, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on ✔️, outstanding breakfast served beautifully with excellent service with Barbara ✔️. I have so many great things to say. This bed and breakfast is top tier. I am def staying here again during my next visit !!
- Debbie (8/5): - Like many Hotels today, there are not enough hooks to hang more than one towel to dry. The sink in the bathroom goes with the decor but there is no place to lay out your toiletries. Very high tub and a wooden floor partition that is a trip hazard so not recommended for Seniors like us even though the location was right at street level and the Restaurant across the room. They only have 10 Parking spots so get there early and avoid taking the car out!
- Macenia L. (10/5): - I
- George (10/5): Old City Inn Stay - The service was excellent. We checked in late and they accommodated that for us. The room was comfortable and clean. The included breakfast was fresh and a culinary experience. The location of the hotel is in the heart of St. Augustine and a very short walk to St. George street. Parking for the hotel was very easy and accessible too. I highly recommend this for couples wanting to get away and enjoy some alone time.
- Steven (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay. The restaurant was great and nice to have it on site! Will definitely come back!!
- Susan (8/5): A Sweet Spot in St Augustine - We really liked this inn. It was quiet, private and friendly. The restaurant’s breakfasts which are included in the room price are fantastic. We ate dinner at the restaurant our last night and were glad we did since it is one of the top-rated restaurants in St. Augustine. I found the inn to be very charming. My husband would have liked something a little more modern, but I enjoyed its quaintness and personality. It’s also right in the heart of the historic district and walkable to anywhere! Very enjoyable visit. No one was there when we checked in, but someone came within 5 minutes after I called. Checkout was accomplished at breakfast where I was told the hotel would charge the credit card on file and my receipt would arrive via email.
- Mike (10/5): A gem. - Wonderful spot Charming room. Very accommodating staff. Our breakfast prior to checkout was excellent. Sy Augustine is a “walking town” and the Inns location could not be better
- Karen (8/5): Charming - Great location to walk to attractions. Parking was reasonably convenient. The included breakfast was very good, but there was no coffee or other beverages available anywhere on the property until breakfast was served at 9:00. We walked a few blocks to a coffee shop the first morning. There was some street noise and street lights that were hard to block out. Bathrooms could use updating.
- Carol (6/5): Great Location! - If you want to explore Saint Augustine, this B&B is in an ideal location. You can walk to pretty much everything. It is definitely an old building with a very small bathroom. We asked about staying another night but no one got back to us. The TV was broken. It only got one channel and when we called, no one responded to our request to fix it. The bed was clean and comfortable. The room itself was also very clean. There are no elevators so you have to walk up a steep flight of stairs. The breakfast was delicious. I understand the restaurant is very popular although we did not eat dinner there.
- Timothy E. (10/5): - Great owner Juan dinner was delicious
- mavelyn (10/5): - Great stay in the best location central to everything. We walked every where
- Michelle (10/5): - Very nice place. Great food, friendly atmosphere, I did reserve a room with a king bed and it was a queen bed. How ever I did not say anything bc it was not a big deal to us and it was a last minute reservation.
- kevin (10/5): - Great experience
- Steve (10/5): - Very nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Lynne (10/5): - Charming antique inn with clean, spacious room and modern bathroom. Cozy dining room and bar onsite. Easy walking distance to the whole historic district, museums, and shops. Onsite parking.
- Angela (10/5): - Very clean. Great price and location. Fun for young adults and retirees!
- Sami (10/5): - Amazing!!! So convenient. Great location. Great breakfast. Will definitely be coming back!!!!
- Charles (10/5): - Lovely room above the restaurant and perfectly located to explore historic district.
- Mercedes (10/5): - The staff was very attentive and helpful.
- Rita (8/5): - The pros are the breakfast was 5 star fabulous! The location was fabulous and the property was quant. The cons are that The property is very old and the room was super small. The floor and whole room was not level so we felt like we were walking downhill io go to the restroom. The toilet was not sealed properly so it leaked and sometimes smelled like an odor was coming from the sewage. The shower had a curtain that was stained, we didn’t feel comfy to take a shower in the two days we were there. Wouldn’t stay again.
- Catherine (10/5): Fantastic Bed & Breakfast! - This place was fantastic. The staff were just wonderful and everything was perfect. Gorgeous two course breakfast was elegant and wonderful. Restaurant dinners were 5 star. It was a perfect stay.
- Kelly (10/5): - Unbeatable location, the staff was great, but the breakfast was gourmet! No stale bagels and cold coffee. A very nice place.
- Sylvie (10/5): - Nice welcome
- Tracy (10/5): - Beyond pleased with this Inn. So clean and comfortable. Everybody was so sweet and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing
We used to stay at Hilton, but this is going to be our new place to stay when we visit!
Thank you!
- Marc (10/5): Great bed and breakfast in Saint Augustine - Great place right in town. Served breakfast till 10 and got there 2 minutes before and nice enough to still serve us an amazing breakfast. Big king bed in our room. Solid nice bed and breakfast. Furniture is old and wood but it’s similar to the overall Saint Augustine vibe. Bed was very comfortable
- Karen (6/5): - This trip was for my 36th wedding anniversary. My husband researched this and booked this establishment. Our room was right on the street. The curtain rails were uneven and falling off, the shower only got to luke warm, there were moths flying around in the room. The sink was so basic there was no place to put my toiletries, there was no coffee in the room or in the establishment first thing in the morning and we were advised to 'walk down to Starbucks' for early morning coffee. This property is overpriced and under performing. I am very disappointed.
- Dan (10/5): - The staff was so friendly and the breakfast was excellent!
- Nicole (10/5): - Wonderful little gem in old St Augustine
- Kevin (8/5): - Very cool hotel. Older but cool. Walking distance to everything. Great price!
- Michelle (10/5): Old World Charm - Lovely and cozy, old world charm. Great location and the breakfast was great. Highly recommend and would come back.
- Poroshad (10/5): - Cozy, quiet and beautiful ♥️
- Eric (8/5): - Overall it was a good stay. We would go back. However, parking is via an honor system and we did have to park on the street one night. Our room didn't have an AC control we could find, but did have a ceiling fan. But the temp was comfortable even in August. Breakfast is excellent. Location is excellent. No coffee in room but Starbucks is a hundred feet away.
- Dirt's4Racing (10/5): - Everyone was so nice! They made sure we were all felt at home. The food was amazing

- Hurbert (10/5): - Our room was small but clean and comfortable. We had a very delicious breakfast. Staff was great.
I did have a problem with Expedia overcharging for our room. Clearly it was not billed to us at the rate advertised.
Book directly if possible.
- Kathy (10/5): - Very nice. Would recommend to everyone.
- shan (6/5): - fantastic location right across from the lightner museum and flagler college, but we did have a problem with parking one evening when all the parking spots were occupied by other guests and some of the staff. also the room was a little frumpy with deferred maintenance and dead bugs in stairway.
- Savannah (10/5): - The staff were so friendly and accommodating. It’s nice that all the of the rooms are accessed from outside. Our doors lock was questionable but it is a very old house. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. It was very clean. I just wish the room’s temperature could be adjusted. It is central ac for those who care about that sort of thing. We were comfortable as there was a fan in the room. We would definitely stay here again.
- Scott (4/5): Not going back. - Hard to climb stairs, at 70 it was tough. Also had concerns of safety, locks were difucult ease of entrance, was another issue.
- 10210624 (6/5): Have dinner there, but consider other options for your stay... - The restaurant is fabulous, and we recommend it highly. The restaurant and housekeeping staff are wonderful. The location is great. The Cordova and Flager rooms have no internet. The air conditioning is off and on, I spent 3 nights going back and forth between sweating and cool. There's no coffee or food until 9:00 a.m. The phone is often unanswered and there was no one there who was able to review our room charges at checkout during the breakfast hour.
- David (10/5): - close to everything we wanted to visit
- Lisa (10/5): - Perfect location. Everything is walking distance. Private parking. Amazing bed linens and comfortable mattress/pillows. Breakfast was delicious. The staff is very hospitable
- James (6/5): - The first room we were given, the shower door hinge was rusted out at the bottom. We asked for and received another room, but that original room was re rented about 2 hours later.
Anyway, great location but quite honestly the place is in dire need of a complete renovation.
- David (10/5): - Great little old public house right across from museums and the shopping street delicious breakfast a real hidden gem
- Terri (10/5): - It was close to everything. Great location
- Robert (8/5): - We had dinner at their restaurant Saturday evening without reservations. Esteban was a great server and the meal was excellent! We had a great experience!
- Charles (8/5): - Great staff, super friendly. Food was great, location top notch. Weird black specks that kept reappearing on bathroom sink, and bed was not the most comfortable were my only complaints. Solid choice for a stay in St. Augustine
- Eugene (8/5): - Very nice quaint b&b. Old fashion bathroom facilities. A/C good. Excellent breakfasts! Five star dining. Barely enough hot water for shower. Staff not always available….could not buy trolley tickets there as their sign said.
- John (10/5): - Very old, neat home in the center of St Augustie. Easily walkable to all the historic sites.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Some issues but very charming place - Place was very charming. Had an issue on check-in (for some reason the hotels.com reservation wasn't showing up on their list) but was able to resolve it with the staff. Another issue occurred with the water in the room. It was almost impossible to get hot water (had to fiddle a LOT with the knobs). The staff warned us about the issue with the room, stating that plumbers had looked at the issue but were unable to fix it.
Overall the location is great and the stay was quite lovely. Only reason for the 3 stars was the check-in issue and the lack of hot water.
- Oscar (10/5): - Awesome Staff
- Robert (10/5): - The Inn was in the historic district within walking distance of old town shops and St. George Street. A tour trolley stop is right across the street. The room was very well furnished and it felt like we were stepping into the past. The full complimentary breakfast was amazing. Compliments to the chef. The staff was also very friendly. Five stars.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - We like the vintage vibe of the Inn! Their breakfast was amazing & delicious. Our room was the Flagler and the bed was super comfy! Great location to walkable sites, it was easy to go sightseeing & then go back to the Inn for a quick rest/nap. Easy check-in & check-out.
- TravelingB0B (10/5): Best Ever New Zealand Rack of Lamb - This is our favorite restaurant in St. Augustine for fine dining with beautiful ambiance. Our server was Mack, and he did an excellent job.
My wife had the New Zealand Rack of Lamb, and it was the best we've ever had (see the photo). Absolutely delicious.
I had the crabcakes and they were good, but slightly dry. I've had better.
We definitely recommend the Lemon Cello cake for dessert - delicious!
- Daniel (10/5): - We
Loved it
- Lawrence (8/5): - Short one night stay
- Joan (8/5): - The food was great!
- Tskwhess (6/5): Things I wish I had known! - We booked this B and B for a family wedding. The location is wonderful and there is on site parking. We were told it was free but on our invoice under “extras”, we were charged $30 for parking. The photos of our room, the Lightener, were not accurate. The bathroom was tiny and there was no door on the shower. The sink was minuscule and there is no room for toiletries of any kind. The toilet flushes on its own several times a night. The fan is incredibly loud and rattles. The shower is an adventure as the laundry room is behind the bathroom and the water went from scalding to icy and back several times during every shower we took. The balcony is the size of our dining room table. It does fit two chairs and a tiny table and was nice to get fresh air. While the room has air conditioning, there is no thermostat and is controlled by the owners. It was very hot the first night but no one was available to adjust it. Despite what the website says, there are no coffee makers in the room. There is also no coffee available until 9 am. When asked if I could have coffee earlier, I was told to “try Starbucks around the corner”.
The rooms could have been cleaner. There was still toothpaste on the wall from the last guests and the floor needed a good vacuum and mopping.
As noted in other reviews, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the adjacent rooms. There is also restaurant noise but that was to be expected and all was quiet there by 10 pm.
The breakfasts were wonderful. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Overall, we were disappointed because the photos and description did not match our experience. Hoping this honest review helps prevent they from happening to others.
- Diane (10/5): - Beautiful property, delicious food, perfect location, and amazing staff!
- Evelyn (10/5): A Must Stay - We were welcomed immediately and got checked in. The hotel our room and the restaurant were gorgeous.
- Shannon (8/5): - Great location!
- Mark (10/5): - The people who work at this place are absolutely fantastic and so friendly. We will eat here again and we will stay here again.
- Kelly (10/5): Can’t wait to return - Really lovely property with comfortable and elegant furniture, flowers everywhere, and lots of outdoor seating options. Excellent location.
