- jenniferwR1676GB (2/5): Inconvenient Gym Hours and Lack of Amenities - I was really disappointed with my stay at Hokulani by Hilton Grand Vacations. One of the biggest issues was the gym hours. It doesn’t open until 8:00 AM due to past noise complaints. That’s incredibly inconvenient, especially for guests who like to work out early and get on with their day. In my case, I had a tour scheduled for 7:30 AM and explained this to the staff, but they were completely unhelpful and unwilling to offer any solution other than I can go to a 24 hour gym 15 minutes away. What makes this even more frustrating is that the hotel cites “noise concerns,” yet you can clearly hear street noise from inside the rooms anyway. So the policy feels inconsistent and poorly thought out. On top of that, there’s no on-site market for basic drinks or snacks, which is something you’d expect from a property like this. It makes quick, convenient access to essentials unnecessarily difficult. Overall, the lack of flexibility, limited amenities, and unhelpful service made for a frustrating experience. I wouldn’t stay here again.
- jocelyne931 (10/5): Great hotel! - This hotel is in an excellent location. The room was CLEAN!! It was not outdated or rundown. It had plenty of drawers and closet space. There was a small kitchen to cook, if needed. It had a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. There were laundry facilities on the same floor. The staff was friendly and informative. I was reluctant to stay at this hotel because there weren’t many recent reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely stay here again. Great visit!!

- vlepperthome (10/5): Wonderful Stay - The Hokulani was just perfect for a solo, low stress, rejuvenation stay, since everything you need is within walking distance (ideal for somebody who has been to Oahu many, many times and is not sightseeing or in need of a car, and who wants to be as least intrusive as possible to the local population). I stayed in a one bedroom. The rooms are well-appointed, with a two burner cooktop, oven/microwave, toaster, rice cooker, full fridge. I mainly used it for breakfast and to reheat leftovers from restaurants. The housekeeping was impeccable (they come in once during your stay but can help out with requests - be sure to tip them!), and all the staff were so helpful. The pool is on the top deck along with a jacuzzi, and is only for lounging - not large enough for laps or anything. The bar opens at 1 pm, so mornings are good if you like it quieter. Plenty of deck chairs for laying out. There is small beach directly down the street that is sometimes submerged. For a larger beach you'll need to walk a few blocks up or down the beach. Pro-tips: You can request a quieter room, which is generally not pool-facing and is higher up. I was placed adjacent to the laundry room, but since the living room was between my bedroom and the laundry room, I never heard any noise from it. If you have people sleeping in the living room, this might not be a good type of room. Also, I opted for the Cirque Du Soleil show at the Outrigger instead of a luau, and it was magical! It was a truly restorative stay.

Right in the middle of Waikiki and main restaurant and shopping strip. NaLani sky bar offered some excellent view. Ku'ualoha was an excellent bar tender. Friendly and very proficient. The pool and bar area are very quiet do to it being open to only hotel guests and not the public. Downsides were an extremely small and limited gym, only one restaurant in the hotel that never seemed to have much business. The hotel being quiet did have it's positives being how busy Waikiki is, but it was a bit to quiet in my opinion. You had to venture off the property for any socializing. My room view was not good and an extremely loud industrial A/C unit on the ground made the balcony about useless to sit out on even from the 8th floor. Overall a good choice for a hotel in Waikiki.

- 825chik (10/5): Great epxerience - We loved our week-long stay at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club Hokulani Waikiki Honolulu. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the resort was spotless. Our room had a nice balcony with a partial view of the ocean. We love that the patio doors open all the way to let the breeze in and allow us to people-watch. The room had everything we needed to cook a meal, and we enjoyed a comfortable stay. We took advantage of the rooftop pool that had a great view of the ocean and the city, and the bartenders were awesome! The resort was close to everything, although we elected to rent a car during our stay to explore the North Shore. It cost $50 to valet park, but it was worth it for us for the convenience. The valet staff was also professional and friendly. We would definitely recommend this resort.

- awinchester (8/5): Amazing Option in Oahu - My parents own a Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare and we decided to stay here for our family trip to Oahu in June 2025. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely come back for future trips. What we liked most: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They definitely elevated the experience and quality of the hotel. When we had an issue with our refrigerator, the staff were ready to help us find a solution. We also loved the room layout and design - with three people we had more than enough room. The bathroom was huge and luxurious. Some previous reviews expressed frustration with the view and the noisiness of the neighboring building - the view wasn’t great and while we could hear some noise, it wasn’t something that we noticed often. The view from the rooftop deck made up for what we couldn’t see from our hotel room window. The pool was small, but worked well for us because we spent most of our time at the beach, which is a short walk across the street. The location was amazing as it was near all the shops and restaurants. We loved everything about our stay here, and will definitely be coming back!

- Prince_nz (10/5): Clean, comfortable and all class - We booked a room with 2 X queen beds and stayed in room 405 A fantastic hotel, with large rooms, kind staff and location a little 5 to 10 mins away from the main beach, in the high end shopping district next to Hawaiin shopping village. The rooms are extremely clean, the hotel is extremely clean and anything we asked for was actioned within 5mins (house keeping kept forgetting our daily complimentary water). Each floor has its own laundry station, with a washer and seperate dryer. The machines are huge and wash well!! Detergent is topped up to your room on a daily basis. We were very impressed with Cassel who looked after us on day of checkin as we had a 2 hour wait... He was kind and friendly throughout the process. You will also find the GM on the floor working, while we attended the rooftop pool and bar he greeted us and was helping his team. I have previously seen a GM on the floor in any other hotel we have stayed at Parking is a premium here so we paid for valet parking at $50 USD per night. The staff at the valet were efficient. I would highly recommend this hotel, as we were travelling with family we needed space and we like hotels that are well maintained and this ticked every box

The location is perfect: close to the beach and also all the shopping you will need. We also recommend that if you are arriving at odd hours, there is a 24 hour Denny's just down the street! Just a word of warning, if you are driving, be prepared to pay $45 for valet parking, as it is impossible to find street parking nearby.

- Kmw_Retired (10/5): Great location with 5 star suites - We are HGVC owners. When booking I was concerned about the suite size. 550 sf is basic 1 BR. Turned out very well. The units are so cleverly designed they feel much more spacious! Parking is expensive and UBER is ubiquitous and affordable. We never spent the equivalent of a days parking fee any day of our stay and Ubered 2-4x a day! My recommendation! The ubiquitous ABC convenience stores are insanely expensive; ¾ mile away in the International Mall Target groceries (and adult beverages) are a 50% discount. Pack a reusable grocery bag or 2 - you pay for all in Honolulu. Only negative is elevator issues really were severe during checkout and checkin times - only 1 was working the entire week and other guests reported the prior week only the service elevator was working!

- 870daveb (10/5): The Hokulani Waikiki Hilton Grand Vacations Resort put the Grand in Hilton Grand Vacations - We used our ownership points to take another couple to Oahu with us and stay at the Hokulani Waikiki Hilton GVC. We had stayed at a different HGVC a few years before, and the Hokulani was the only one available when we made our reservation for two week stay in November. The resort was perfectly situated for exploring Waikiki, and we made the most of it. We made it to Pearl Harbor for a whole day, as well as exploring the North Shore, a circle-tour of the island, some museums, and more. We spent a Sunday-Brunch morning at a local eatery watching our Detroit Lions notch their 11th win and also dined twice at Dukes Waikiki Restaurant which is a tribute to Duke Kahanamoku, the famous Olympic swimmer and one of the best surfers ever. I was also impressed with the way that our resort was set up to accommodate wheelchair-bound folks like me. The resort is just minutes from the famous beaches and right across the street from the open-air and under cover Royal Hawaiian Center Mall area with anything and everything that one could possibly want to shop for, great restaurants, alternate routes to the beach and more just a short walk/roll away. The staff of the Hokulani was super friendly and accommodating and worked hard to make us feel welcome. The suite had everything we needed plus stunning views. Everything was clean and well appointed, and the rooftop swimming/hot-tub area and bar area offered a panoramic view of the area. We even had a little excitement one evening from our sixth floor balcony overlooking the Royal Hawaiian Center when a fire evidently broke out in one of the small restaurants on the street facing us and the fire department swooped in with an impressive display of professionalism and expertise with multiple units responding and within a very short time had everything under control. The restaurant was even able to reopen a short time afterward; a further testament to the terrific first responders in keeping what could have easily been a tragedy or even a threat to every thing around it contained and with minimal damage. When we needed the resort to hold onto our luggage for us because of a very late airline ticket home, they accommodated us with secure storage and assistance once we were ready to go. All in all, the Hokulani put the word "Grand" in Hilton Grand Vacations. I recommend the venue to anyone.
- TheHawk1 (10/5): Amazing Stay in Honolulu - This was my first time in Honolulu, so wasn’t sure where to stay. I chose this hotel based on the location, good reviews and the Hilton brand. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the island. I called ahead of my arrival to request a room with a view, if possible, given that it was my first trip to Hawaii. While I did have to wait a bit upon check in, the room did not disappoint, as it was a corner room with a great view of Diamond Head and Waikiki Bay. Both the living area and bedroom are spacious and each room has a large screen TV, as well as a surprise TV in the bathroom. The kitchen has a fridge (with ice maker), microwave and a variety of plates, cups and utensils. This was perfect for morning breakfasts at the small table and chairs provided. The bed was quite comfortable, the AC worked well and there were multiple lighting options in each room. The bathroom was large, with dual sinks, a great shower, separate tub and two closets. The only slight downside is a balcony that is too small to sit out on, but again the view made up for it. The front desk staff were very helpful with every request and any time I called housekeeping they responded quickly. The valet parking, while expensive, had prompt service and friendly attendants. The rooftop pool is small, so I wasn’t there a lot, but I spent a couple of late afternoons there sitting in the shade to have a drink and it was a pleasant spot. I thought the location was perfect for a first-time visitor, as the main street of Waikiki is right outside with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Yes, that comes with some late-night noise, but I didn’t find it difficult to sleep. It is also a couple blocks from a small beach or about a 10-minute walk to the main Waikiki beach area. I have stayed in many HGV properties and I have to say this location would be right at the top of my list. I hope to be back.
- edmundp2015 (10/5): Top notch accommodation, centrally located - My wife and I booked over thanksgiving and stayed for 6 nights in the 1 bedroom with a king sized bed. Lots of amazing shops nearby. Very upscale part of Waikiki. The room itself is full of high end finishes. Even though the room was quite modern it still felt homey. Staff was full of the “Aloha Spirit” and the bed was super comfy. The gym was a bit small, but there’s plenty of places to run outside. Every floor has laundry facilities (2 washers and dryers). The pillows were too mushy for my taste, but some people prefer super soft pillows, so, I’m awarding the Hokulani 5 ⭐️s.

Its in good location, within 10 min walking distance to Waikiki beach and lots of restaurants around just outside the front doors. We used roof top dipping pool and hot tub and their cabanas few times throughout the week. Also enjoyed their Mai Tai hour and Ice cream social that was offered. Beware you are in the middle of downtown, where all the hustle and bustle is happening, so the nights are not quiet but resort is able to offer white noise machine if you need it. Small but full kitchen, and laundry facilities available on certain floors at no extra charge. Very nice staff, anything we needed we text and it was delivered within 15 min. I would stay here again.

- CdnTravellerCalgary (10/5): Another Great Stay! - To begin, we are HGVC owners. We used 'Open Season' to book our room. We stayed three nights. This was not our first visit to this hotel. But, I must say, it may have been our favorite. As we were moving from another hotel, we arrived in the morning to have our luggage stored until check-in. This was easy and efficient. To expedite our check-in later in the day, I 'checked in' in the morning so all that I had to collect at 4pm were the keys. The desk was not busy at 9am! At 4pm, we went to our room. We were given a beautiful, end-of-the-hallway room on the 10th floor! Loved it! (I like a quiet room away from the elevator.) The bathroom was as a big (or bigger!) than the living room. Huge shower. Free standing tub (that fills from the ceiling), two closets, separate toilet, two sinks! Great! The room itself was very clean. The kitchen is quite small--just a studio kitchen with two hot plates and a small(er) fridge and freezer. But, it was adequate. I don't cook much on holidays. It was sufficient to prepare a light breakfast. During the day and early evening, one could hear people and sirens from down below on the road. But, it was quiet at night! That was a big concern for me but I must say that the room was pretty quiet from outside noise! I will say, though, that we had a small noise issue one evening. I thought that I had inadvertently turned on the tv in the bathroom mirror. There was no picture, but the sound was as clear as day. I could hear it from the bed in the bedroom. Was it a podcast? A radio show? What was it? I called the front desk for help as I could not seem to turn off the volume. Turns out, the neighbors next door had their TV on. Maintenance called the front desk and the front desk asked them to turn it down. In minutes, I couldn't hear anything. While I felt badly, I was happy that the hotel dealt with it quickly. I wonder, though, about soundproofing--but, for me, it was handled! We appreciated, too, the bathrobe and slippers. While we had to request these items, we were pleased that they were an option. The rooftop pool was clean and not too busy. As many have said, it is really just a dipping pool. But, it was nice. We enjoyed a dip in the hot tub, too. There were plenty of loungers and fresh towels. It was relaxing to spend some time lying on the chaise and viewing the ocean and city scape. All staff that we encountered during our stay were courteous, professional, and friendly. We will be back!

The views from our balcony were fantastic. We enjoyed the swimming and sauna at the top of the building. Lastly, there are scheduled daily fun activities and discounted coupons for restaurants and shopping.

The rooms are beautiful. The elevator doesn't have any buttons on the inside. You select your floor on the card reader on the outside. BUT, the card reader does not know how many people are in the party. So one-time we had to stop at floors that no one got off because they were not in the elevator. Funny.

- Alan (10/5): - We had a fantastic time at this property with our toddler. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very responsive to text requests. Contrary to some reviews we've read, we had a 3rd floor room facing the nearby building and we never had any noise issues either at night or during naptime during the day, both during weekdays and weekends. The property is walking distance to everything with lots of food options nearby. It's family friendly for our family - we didn't need a kid friendly pool or a beach right at the doorstep, we wanted a large suite with kitchen and that's what we got. The only negative I can think of is that the tub fills from the ceiling and it's guaranteed to splash everywhere - it's a fancy cool looking but not functional design.

- Nicole Dayna Thacker (10/5): - I liked that the hotel is centrally located. There are many shops and restaurants in the area, and a supermarket within walking distance. Having a supermarket nearby was essential because I traveled with my family and eating out for every meal can be very pricey. That being said, the hotel comes equipped with a full size refrigerator a countertop stove, full size microwave, toaster and a coffee maker. Our room was stocked with eating utensils, cups and plates. It was like being at home. The bathroom was beautiful. It has his and her sinks, a spa tub, and a stand-alone shower with a raindrop shower head. I particularly enjoyed the shower. It was very relaxing after sightseeing with the family all day, or returning from the beach. The staff were kind and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the area.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth the enormous price! NO PERKS - Financially ripped! Paid almost $300nt. No view, no AC, no perks, no discount for a 90yr old vet. $45 parking fee. $40 resort fee added to nighly rate, when obviously not to be used. Asked at check in to remove, answer was no. Asked for any discounts on room, again no. Asked for reduced parking fee, NO. Asked if we got any perks at all, NO. Had to call for bedding on Sleeper. Had to call to no ice on ice maker. Nobody showed. Picture on web showed balcony with patio furniture. Deceptive. 3 foot depth on “balcony. Had a view of parking lot. Asked for an ocean view for the rate, NO again. Yes the room was nice, but not $300/nt nice with NO PERKS. FELT RIPPED OFF & will never book again, nor recommend. My blog will not support this property and will warn others. Felt my elderly, almost 90 yr old Dad was taken advantage of big time. Shame on Hilton!

- Gabrielle (9/5): A great location with lovely rooms and especially comfortable beds! - Great location - an easy quick walk to the beach. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice and spacious, especially the bathrooms and the beds were very comfortable. The pool is small and shallow. It would be nice to have a bigger swimming pool but the hot tub was great.
- Melissa (10/5): A must stay in Waikiki - Best location in Waikiki. Close to everything you'll ever need, including a 24 hour pharmacy. Rooftop pool is small but excellent for kids and adults. Nothing. We'll definitely stay here again.

- jordan (2/5): Bad Stay, Facing a wall, Loud AC noise - Beware this hotel faces a wall, and it’s extremely noisy wall with some sort of vents coming out that run all day and night. The balcony has no chairs and no room for chairs. It’s too small to sit out on. Embassy next door or Wyndham and Imperial across the street are far superior to the Hokulani.
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - We travelled with our almost one year old and the room worked perfectly for us. Kitchen facilities were excellent and it was perfect having a seperate bedroom and a bathroom with both bath and shower. The whole suite, including all kitchen items were immaculately clean as well and although we were next to the laundry room and close to the lifts our room was super quiet all the time. Free washer/dryer facilities were a super handy added bonus. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and accommodated us with an early check in. The rooftop pool/bar set up was really well done and never too busy, yes the pool is just a plunge pool but it still did the trick and with the great views you really can't complain. Location was great with the beach an easy 5-10 min walk (either Fort DeRussy or Waikiki) or 15mins to the Hilton lagoon and close to all shops and restaurants. This was our fourth visit to Waikiki and our first in this hotel, I would definitely recommend it. Nothing
- Gloria (10/5): Great Value, Convenient Location, Excellent Staff - Central location close to all the shopping and food at Waikiki as well as being walking distance to the beach. Access to the hotel was a bit hidden but that allowed the hotel to feel less public and more private. Room sizes were great, loved the kitchenette and dishwasher, small fridge, stove. Also loved the suite arrangement and staff were great. Note that there is no turn over service while you stay there but you can get new towels, etc from the housekeeping.

- Anaisel (9/5): Family vacation :) - The staff were super friendly and helpful. Valet was always on top of things and Susan at the front desk was very sweet to everyone. She also gave my daughter a little cookie and was very informative. The room was very clean and had just about everything we could ask for. The pool was a little small, but not quite a big deal when there's a whole ocean nearby.
- Kristin (9/5): it’s the perfect hotel that feels like home. - We stay here every time we come back to Hawaii for 2 weeks at a time. it’s home away from home. Housekeeping is now every 3 days as opposed to everyday. It gets a little crowded with an overload of towels that build up
